Wow. I don't get it: why do these dudes with more money than they can spend in their lifetime get involved with this stuff? (if it's true).
I can understand crime if the system has sidelined you and you have little chance of achieving success legitimately, but....
Remy was always a weak-minded little prick.
Anyone else having the circle of death after placing an order with TDA?
Lots of those Mariner games were comebacks or 1-2 run victories. That's a tough trend to sustain over the whole season.
I love watching that guy. Theses days, it's him and then everyone else. He'd look great in a Brewers uniform!
Hey, at least the Mets had a hot start.
Sounds like a sskillz message from in last year. Bummer. I hate to see teams playing wounded, but it's a reality in MLB.
Sometimes it's a shock when a player gets injured, like Prince Fielder. But with the guys who have gone down on the Mets, there's a long history of missed time due to injury. Cespedes hasn't put together a full season in years, Thor has always been more about potential and promise than consistent delivery. Same with the whole staff outside of DeGrom and big sexy when they had him. Yup, it still sucks, but the names on the Mets do are hardly a surprise. The surprise would be if those names didn't appear on the DL.
For me, it's like Braun. The dude has to be nursed along between do stints. Hard to build a competitive team around that.
Lol. Maybe the same reason Mets management wanted agon, Joey whiffles, Frazier, bruceee, Jason Bay, bobby, oliver Perez, etc, etc, etc
DeGrom certainly deserves better......maybe a mid season trade to Milwaukee for Braun and prospects ....
As a Brewers fan, I love seeing Vargas and Ramos on the hill!
I read the article on MLB about the Sox dumping Hanley. Dumbo was sure happy to name Cora as a big advocate of the move. But I guess that's the sketchy type of response we've come to expect out of the Sox when they make dubious moves.
I hope Hanley signs with the Rays and hits a few walk offs in Fenway.
Brewers really firing on all cylinders, even with Thames and Braun out. That's a tough division though. Wish the crew were back in the AL central.
Hi Don,
Are you across the KTOV lawsuit that killed the price better than a year ago?
I've been stashing Vlad Jr in my league s. He's batting .400
Unfortunately for him there's no market for Josh Donaldson.
Forget about Nimmo. DeGrom and Thor are what matter in metland.
MICT
Some very annoyed analysts on the cc wondering wtf is the delay with the enertec sale. And plenty of CEO waffling when it came to answering these questions. He's happy to lay the blame on the"banks". And he certainly didn't sound super confident that a deal was imminent. Some good questions about break fees, but nobody pinned him down on dates and deadlines for the deal to be completed or aborted.
It's been a long wait. IMO that can't be good....
Yup. If it wasn't for Asdrubel's amazing start, Mets offense would look like AA ball.....sort of like the past couple of years.....Bruce and Frazier were supposed to provide the punch, but that's not happening yet with any consistency. That said, they're not too far back in that division yet and could still be relevant if they pull their heads out.
I'm seeing a pattern too. Yanks win a few, fans gloat. Real well worn pattern, that. Gloat now, you'll be crying later!
Totally agree. You can have the whole roster, the stadium and the sausage race if it brings 1 championship to Milwaukee, (which by the way would be the Brewers first).
One look at the run differential and it's clear that the Mets have settled into another season of mediocrity. I'm sure Pirate fans would sympathize with you; distorting a team's real competitive value by getting off to an abnormally hot start is bound to set expectations too high and result in bonus PAIN for fans.
And the Dodgers couldn't wait to run him out of town.
Nelson looked like he had somewhere else he'd prefer to be tonight.... especially in the 9th with runners on 2nd and 3rd and 1 away. Awful AB!
Great series in Houston starting tomorrow. Yanks can really establish some swagger with a road sweep, but Houston looks better than they did in 2017....Hinch hasn't allowed any lulls in the intensity of game play.
What an ahole agon is: 5 RBIs....the guy is screwing up everything!!
You best hope Cespedes doesn't have the same thumb issue as Thames.
Last big company hire was the dude with all the experience in ACPW's lol ine of biz....a noted patent salesman if I recall. Still waiting for him to earn his paycheck....
Brewers on an 8 game streak and more than holding their own even with some major injuries. Thames is gone for 6-8 weeks and who knows about Knebel? Gotta make hay against baseball's AAA teams in MLB uniforms if you're planning post-season play.
Anyone else think the Dodgers are well and truly .500 team this year? Losing a home series the the Fish really stinks up the freeways in LA. Kershaw has been lights on....albeit dimly, and Jansen has been outright torched. Unless those 2 guys are rock solid superstars, the Dodgers have as shabby a line up as the Reds IMO.
Shorting it would have been a great tactic up until the latest dive to the current .25 range. Hard to say how to make money from this now. IMO there are better, much better plays out there, both short term and long term.
Can't deny that Nats line up every night, but yup, dropping a 6-1 lead late can't be good for the moral. You gotta admit that many Mets are playing way over their heads: Asdrubel, Frazier, Nimmo, Lagares, Agon....
That's the joy of the 162 game season. It might take a while, but over the long haul, the true quality of a team comes out.
Which Monday?
Lol. Gordon swinging for the fence is a hilarious image! Lot of lazy fly balls.
So far Dee is the best of the former fish who found new homes.
Arenado knows how to charge that mound! Unlike that Yanks imbecile Austin who took a few baby steps so that the Yanks dugout could get ready to bail him out, Nolan had that Padres pitcher fudging his undies before the ump had his mask off.
The Marlins manager was probably just following orders from Jeter!
Thanks for the refresher. I for one am loving watching the Cubs, Yanks and Dodgers stumble!
Actually, the genius of this year's Mets roster is the recognition that the starting pitchers can't be counted on to go deep into games. There are no proven workhorses on the staff, so planning on 165 innings instead of 200+ for your quality but fragile starters means you better have the 6-9 inning bullpen ready to go 4 nights a week. If the bullpen takes a hit, then you have trouble.
Cry me a river. 9-1 including a sweep of the Gnats. Cespedes is playing every day and the pen is stacked. The Mets starters are trotting out there every 5th day for their rotation.
Wait til you have a legit reason to gripe. My closer is out and my two best hitters are wounded. .... we've dropped a small boatload of extra inning games within the division in the first 2 weeks. And we're still paying big $$ to Braun.
Hmm. What's awesome about 32,713,544 shares issued in 2017 for between .10 and .20 ?
Nope. Saber rattling would infer a plan or a strategy. This is Trump. This is what he promised and he's delivering. More to follow.
Only a true fan can find the upside of a 0-5 day with 5k's! Well done! May you get similar opportunities to display your optimism throughout the season!
See the Yelich and Braunie 9th inning show against the Cards?
Hear, hear. Cubs took that series in spite of Maddon, not because of hm IMO.
