three to five years wise, please say it's not so, I don't think buz, six and prop have that much patience, haha
in the almost decade of time that I have been hanging around here this company has historically run on a shoestring budget with "going concern" always a part of the financials, they have many on board that could literally fund this thing themselves, or through their personal networks at a minimum I'm sure, but if the promise is real and the devices begin to emerge this summer/fall then funding should be a non-event, if not then all these heavyweights will just have to find another water cooler to hang out for their daily chit chat
x, seems like the pace of developments is accelerating rapidly now, I think Z should host an investor call to provide color on all of the developments
10k is available here's a link
http://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/1325964/000155335014000315/lwlg_10k.htm
10k should be out today right?
hopefully we get an investor call to discuss progress notes
thanks Gates, that puts us in 6-12 month window today, I would expect the pace of pr's to accelerate in this time frame if we indeed have what we all believe are true game changing next gen materials
I think they are currently have funding on hand to take them to late 2014 correct?
my guess would be next round of funding may be an investment by a fortune 100 company, we'll see
keeping the faith!
go Z and co!
10K should be out soon, hopefully Z will schedule an investor update call as well, investors need something to chew on whilst waiting for the IMEC devices to show up which is still a couple months out
timing wise based on the 12-18 month window to be designed in, and the 100's of devices from IMEC being coated with various material concoctions and characterized, it is looking like the do or die time frame comes out being relatively close to the patch visit 2014 right?
As I have told the shareholders before, we needed to demonstrate that our materials would actually work in a device and now it is time to optimize the material performance for these revolutionary devices. It is important to consider that this is a starting point and unlike inorganic compounds, organic nonlinear optical polymers can be chemically altered to improve performance since their molecular structure allows manipulation and offers a pathway to better-and-better results."
http://finance.yahoo.com/news/lightwave-logic-nonlinear-optical-materials-153000031.html
also, this sounded pretty good to me already:
The tested SOH chip had a 1-millimeter square footprint, enabling the possibility of sophisticated integrated optical circuits on a single silicon substrate. In addition, the waveguide structure was approximately 1/20 the length of a typical inorganic-based silicon photonics modulator waveguide.
With the combination of proprietary Lightwave Logic electro-optic polymer material and the extremely high optical field concentration in the slot waveguide modulator, the test modulators demonstrated less than 2.2 volts to operate. Initial data rates exceeded 30-35 Gb/sec in the telecom, 1550 nanometer frequency band. This is equivalent to four, 10Gb/sec, inorganic, lithium niobate modulators that would require approximately 12-16 volts to move the same amount of information. Lightwave's material also operates in the 1310 nanometer frequency band, which is suitable for data communications applications.
I agree with you X, I think since they got the decent funding with LPC the progress notes have been very focused and should result in what we are all waiting for sometime this summer in the weeks/months that they apply variations of the materials and characterize the results, device by device
So far they have proven the concept of a working (plug-n-play)proto albeit with limited specs, but those specs were terrific, and they have designed their own device now for manufacture
Device Achieves Greater Electro-Optical Activity and Lower Drive Voltage than Industry Standard Legacy Inorganic Modulators
http://finance.yahoo.com/news/lightwave-logic-successfully-demonstrates-operating-132500501.html
If they fail to achieve a working proto from hundreds of attempts subsequent to receiving the IMEC devices it would be quite a disappointment to the faithful here, now there may be some in-between zone, where the characterized devices may not be holy grail worthy, but still much better than anything out there, imo, that would still validate the tech and spark quite a rally
Rick, I agree with you totally, I think Z has been straightforward with investors, and the developments seem to be progressing well lately since the company has gained some decent funding and improved its focus on devices now, looks now like summer will be very telling time frame, in the weeks/months after getting the now designed devices back in quantity and coating with various materials and characterizing, I would hope for some concrete proof of a prototype device with outstanding detailed specs, if not it would be challenging to KTF
interesting trading going on lately imo, not sure what to make of it but seems like things may be heating up a bit now for whatever reason, I'd like to believe it is signaling a positive event horizon just ahead for us, would be nice
someone just took a 10k share bite at the .95 (ask) wall which didn't flinch, would like to see a few more like that push through rapid fire
in theory it creates overhead resistance for pps to increase, however, it creates opportunity for anyone wanting a substantial position sub-$1 level, if I had the liquidity I'd buy em
hoping the summer brings our big breakthrough
keeping the faith!
somebody is buying today with increased volume too, maybe a pr is brewing? would be nice...
Steve, that looks EXACTLY like the path we have been on here, lol, hopefully we straighten it out here 2014!
Wiseguy, thanks for weighing in, I think we are on the same page, although I don't really care about the sales right now, just the detailed specs, because I know that the pps will price in the sales long before they occur once we have a device completed with proven tons the best detailed specs
Remember, from the BNS/LADAR pr it stated,
The material we delivered is the product and result of the new synthesis process we recently announced.
http://finance.yahoo.com/news/lightwave-logic-electro-optic-polymer-173000839.html
So I am thinking that at this point the materials are already up to snuff for internal development of the transceiver, and hopefully for the LSS too, I hope this is more than wishful thinking and would love to see Z issue a pr confirming that they have coated a new batch of devices for the LSS as this would signal the additional parameters have been met
so are the materials ready for prime time now? have they met the additional requirements for internal needs as well as for the LSS?
how important was the design aspects of the chips now completed and sent to OpSIS?
will the early summer bring multiple transceiver protos with complete specs that are tons the best?
thoughts anyone?
X, enjoy your vacation, glad to hear you are still alive and kicking!
has X been hit by the proverbial mack truck, been abducted by aliens, or possibly gone the way of sargeantschultz?
buz, any idea how important the chip design aspects are to success, and how much time was spent on this design work?
from the open letter,
This is already moving forward and we expect to have initial proof of concept devices available for testing in late Q1 2014. This initial SOH effort will baseline and prove out the circuits. The next run will be coated with our polymer materials, which is slated for late Q2 2014.
so does the chip design work yield the initial proof of concept devices in-house, and then OpSIS ramps up the production for us?
booyah! looks like the transceiver protos will be coming by the hundreds in early summer, hopefully the detailed specs will be tons the best over what the current market has to offer
Lightwave Logic Begins the Manufacture of a Multi Integrated Nanophotonic Transceiver (MINT) Prototype
http://finance.yahoo.com/news/lightwave-logic-begins-manufacture-multi-163000510.html
anyone seen x? guess he's hibernating too
I wonder what the detailed specs on Terry's protos were, I think there were about 100 modulators he created back then, would be interesting to know, didn't he show them off at the ASM?
did anyone here get to see them close up?
the important thing to take away from Terry's protos is that Terry is still here with us working with these materials, that in and of itself tells me that these materials can and will succeed, or Terry would have hit the happy trails long ago, he ain't hanging around for the water cooler chit chat or to gain a little walking around money, lol
yup, that was back in the days of the shoestring budgets, and apparently as we all learned much later, before the materials process could yield consistent results
things are much different today, the repeatability of the materials process is now at commercially viable levels and the recent funding by LPC has given them the ability to build proper lab environments to advance the developments more rapidly
cmon Z, it's TIME to deliver on the real device developments, we are all waiting for team lightwave to put us on the investor radar once and for all for good!
reds, sounds good man, count me in!
glug glug glug
Hi Rubes, thanks, just been laying low, hibernating like a big ole bear most of February was a blur to me, lol, still think we got a big winner here, hoping the shareholder letter bullet points come home to roost, I know we're all tired of waiting, but I for one am staying the course no matter, would prefer a pr sooner rather than later, maybe this week still, but for sure by next week, sure hope we don't have to wait for the Q1 conf call to get some device development news
I'm thinking March should be a good month, after all it closes out the 1st quarter, and I believe we are supposed to be getting some device development news by end of the quarter, correct?
Also, I know X seems to think there are a couple of partnerships in the works, I hope he is right on that call, we'll see
sure would be nice to wake up to a device pr one of these days here soon, cmon Z, make our day!
x, yup, key point, LSS next up! plus internal device developments as well, the gears are turning!
does this mean that the perk tweaking efforts have been successful?
if so, that should translate as well for other internal device development needs, as well as needs of the LSS. correct?
yup, if all that early funding wasn't wasted on a flawed molecule (dalton/lumera/gig) and had been used to fund perk, the true gen materials would be operating in multiple billion dollar markets today
considering everything that BSmith has told us about himself, I can't imagine he would not know Brad Smith of OpSIS, so with that in mind why o why would he have chosen that particular ID to come to this board and launch an all out assault on perk, would he not have considered Brad Smith's reputation may be hurt by those here misconstruing him to be the real BSmith?
Wise, if you like the paradoxical, you may enjoy Dr Quantum - Double Slit Experiment, and the measurement problem
Wiseguy, I'll just say that seasaw2020 is very intelligent and well studied in the science side of things, certainly a voice worth listening to when it comes to that, and as you know, it really is all about the science, at least until such time as it becomes a business (ie selling something, lol), you can check with X and PC to see if they concur, also if you noticed from the link I provided even ponzi gave him some much deserved recognition upon return
buz, yup serious indeed, and I provided a link to that post of seasaw2020 made on 1/9/2014
of note to longtimers here, sesaw2020 made a brief appearance on the yahoo msg board a few weeks ago in case you missed it, after having not posted in the past couple of years at all, personally I take this as a sign of good things getting very close on the horizon, and wish seasaw2020 would join us for discussions on this msg board as well
http://finance.yahoo.com/mbview/threadview/;_ylt=Anp.Asgb55aG4CHjiy5Wgs7eAohG;_ylu=X3oDMTB1cDZkbG52BHBvcwM4BHNlYwNNZWRpYU1zZ0JvYXJkc1hIUlVsdA--;_ylg=X3oDMTBhYWM1a2sxBGxhbmcDZW4tVVM-;_ylv=3?&bn=665b67a3-332b-3083-ae68-da98789991fe&tid=1389231446641-49b6367f-62c4-4fcf-8935-96b17027f281
BS I will repeat my request of you in case you "missed it" amongst all the postings here, I await your reply
BSmith said, I'm not trying to increase my credibility but I will tell you that I have worked with Academia (not a professor because I despise most), Industry (optics, semiconductors), and most recently investors.
In addition, in quite a few of your posts you seem to be pumping the following:
1) Soluxra
2) Alex Jen
3) UW
Also, you still have not replied to my repeated request related to if you are under an NDA with LWLG since you claim to have had 1st hand workings with lightwave materials
Also, you have stated in post #9503 I have no association with GIG or LWLG. I do know a lot more about LWLG than I am telling you. I told you a few things in the previous post
Your claim to having no association with GIG or LWLG seems contradictory to your claim to having had 1st hand workings with lightwave materials
Also, you seem to refer to yourself as a "researcher", and you have said you are not a chemist (FWIW)
Also, you on multiple occasions have said the following (not necessarily in exact words)
1) take what I am saying with a grain of salt
2) I'm not here to trash the company or the materials
3) there is always some degree of lying/untruths within the science industry
Lastly, you certainly have "AMPED UP" your attack on lightwave just before Christmas, timing-wise this is coincident with the GIG stock offering by Roth & the other broker (who coincidently BOTH put out BUY rating on GIG a couple weeks prior to the stock offering & managed to get the stock pps to jump 30% prior to announcing the offering brokered by the same two brokers)
So, riddle me this, what reasons caused you to bounce from Academia, to Industry, and now to Investing?
Also, how long ago did you bounce to Investing, and presumably out of Science completely?
Also, interesting that in several of your posts you express disdain for professors
Also, what brokerage firm are you working with currently, and are you involved with any public stock offerings?
BTW, I am currently driving in my 1977 Pinto multitasking writing this post while changing out my 8 Track tape to listen to this Kansas song now
BS, how is it again that you are not under NDA having claimed to work with perk first hand?
also, you say you work with investors now, when is the last time you worked in material sciences?
here comes vida blue... This proprietary process has created two new material systems, which have demonstrated outstanding electro-optic values. In addition, initial thermal stability results exceed any commercially available organic nonlinear polymer material systems.
http://finance.yahoo.com/news/lightwave-logic-develops-unique-methodology-153000446.html
pr BOOYAH! The apathy and OT indices prevailed!
Lightwave Logic Develops Unique Methodology to Combine Multiple Chromophores into a Single Polymer Host
http://finance.yahoo.com/news/lightwave-logic-develops-unique-methodology-153000446.html
apathy and OT indices have both hit the red zones, and the markets seem to be crashing these past few trading days to boot, all this contrarian data begs a pr of substance here, I think we are due for one soon anyway based on what Z told us to expect in the first quarter
my bets are on february being a good month to be long here
still keeping the faith
we should be due for a pr here any day now, the last update was really at the beginning of December right?
cmon Z it's time set the world on fire
