Rick, what did you hear timeline wise for them to have commercial revs of any size?
the tech is somewhat confusing to me as presented, what threat level to our tech does theirs present iyo? tia
I will listen to the full replay when it becomes available
mack, fact? not so much based on todays conference call imo, protos may be ready in third quarter, perhaps some minimal sample revs near end of year, but seems they are planning protos to evolve over next 2 years?
I got on the call late, missed the opening 10-15 mins, did anyone else listen, if so, what was your take away? tia
meanwhile, 2 weeks from now hoping to hear lightwave protos storyline from Lebby presentation, also hopefully we get a pr here before then
best to all
next week tuesday will mark 4 weeks from Z saying
We are looking forward to announcing our passive testing results of our polymer ridge waveguide device in the near future.
https://finance.yahoo.com/news/lightwave-logics-advanced-organic-electro-150000015.html
personally "near future" to me is within one month, regardless, there are still two additional weeks until Lebby presents for us
I am banking on these results at a minimum being available then or I will be quite a bit disappointed
Steve, nice to CNN Money pick us up!
of interest from GIG conference call Q&A, making the case for the real need for true next gen devices our team now poised to deliver
Krishna Shankar - Roth Capital
Great. Thank you. And then you, you know, laid out a case for a very long profitable cycle for the 40-gig datacenter deployment and 100-gig first ramping up with NRZ and then moving to Band 4 [ph] by late 2017, 2018. Are there any constraints near term in terms of widespread adoption of 100-gig? Is it, you know, the availability of 25-gig lasers or is it the Broadcom switch chipset which, you know, which Avago recently merged with Broadcom, so can you talk about some constraints which may slow down 100-gig deployment and keep 40-gig to mainstream for some time?
Avi Katz
Yeah. I think, Krishna, I think your point is [inaudible] to be honest, we are a very big beneficiary of -- beneficiaries of the slowdown in the 100G. I think the last year sort of proves people that, you know, datacom is a complex game. The parallel optics is very complex. It's not straightforward, even if you want to increase your capacity, you cannot just rush from one generation to the next generation, because it's a complex configuration, mainly limited by -- or mainly gated by the ability to release reliable and high-yield commercial optical devices more so the [inaudible]. And as well as, you know, the [inaudible] obviously, the system level.
So we are definitely taking -- we've definitely seen a great revenue on the 40G all way from 2011 till 2015. As I mentioned in my prepared comments, we almost seen a doubling of the volume shipment year over year in the last four years. I don't know - I cannot project today the volume shipment of 40G devices this year, but I can see a very strong demand for the first six months of this year, as we see it today.
And 100G is more complex, it's comprised of more devices in the engines, it -- it delivers more complex issues such as latency and cross-talk, as we bring four channels of 25 or 28-gigabit per second into the small form factor of the transceiver. I think people are addressing it. I think you're absolutely right saying that the introduction was much slower than project.
To be honest, like everything we're doing in GigOptix, we have a roadmap that allow us to drive revenue as we develop the next generation, as we jokingly say here, we always like to be eat while we are hunting. And our 100G system, as I said, the chipset is ready to roll and we are going to release in public in the next few weeks. Whenever it's come, we'll be ready for it.
I really don't believe, and as I said in the prepared comments, I don't believe that there's any reason to believe that the NRZ modulation will change -- will be changed or will decide, in lieu of a new futuristic modulation schemes counting. So for this year, to be honest, for 2017, I think between the 40 and 100G NRZ technologies, then datacenters will be covered.

additions to the list as follows, please feel free to add more
5) the Class 100 cleanroom
6) at least 3 certified at JILA labs
http://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/lightwave-logic-announces-completion-of-its-class-100-clean-room-300080840.html
microcchips, here's a short list that come to mind
1) the patent portfolio secured
2) the "repeatability" aspect of batch creation was nearly perfected
3) the improvements to the electro-optic activity & the rigorous commercial level testing (and beyond, ie 4000 hours photochemical stability testing)
Tom Zelibor, Lightwave Logic's Chairman and Chief Executive Officer stated, "Achieving this important milestone gives us early validation of the Company's ability to capitalize on the strength of our material systems that have shown powerful electro-optic properties as well as strong thermal and photo chemical stability.
https://finance.yahoo.com/news/lightwave-logics-advanced-organic-electro-150000015.html
4) the additions of a series of notable top notch names, the latest of which, Lebby will be presenting on behalf of Lightwave Logic across the pond in a month's time
booyah baby!
thanks Rick
KCC, Rick in regards to The solution was to develop active thermal stabilization. The stabilization system includes a separate photodetector and a digital controller. When the detector notices a change in the amount of photocurrent coming to it, the controller alters the voltage across the microring. This changes how much heat the structure dissipates, pushing its index of refraction back to normal".
Is this an industry game changer which can "cure" the thermal stability issues of all the past generations of e/o materials in your opinion?
for example, would this perhaps make lumera's e/o materials suddenly viable?
I'm confused, did these guys on darpa poem project just create a workaround for the thermal stability issue, and wouldn't that make many other electro-optic materials viable
if so, that steals our thunder, no?
looking forward to announcing our passive testing results of our polymer ridge waveguide device in the near future.
https://finance.yahoo.com/news/lightwave-logics-advanced-organic-electro-150000015.html
so it has been 2 weeks since this pr told investors to expect passive testing results in the "near future"
2 questions
1) what is the outer limits of "near future"
2) what can investors expect from the revealing of passive testing results
anyone have thoughts on this?
I thought the passive testing sets a baseline of sorts, and the active testing is where the rubber hits the road, so anyone who can add color to this please do so, tia
Steve, I like the fact that under his picture in the section titled
A QUESTION OF MATERIAL: INP, SILICON, OR SOMETHING ELSE?
it says
Michael Lebby
Chair in Optoelectronics, Glyndwr University. Board Director Lightwave Logic Inc.
not to mention he is the conference chair!
booyah!
material systems that have shown powerful electro-optic properties as well as strong thermal and photo chemical stability.
BOOYAH BABY !!
http://finance.yahoo.com/news/lightwave-logics-advanced-organic-electro-150000015.html
"We continue to advance toward our goal to demonstrate that our organic electro-optic material systems are a commercially feasible alternative, next generation technology that can solve the price/performance/scalability issues that confronts the industry. We are looking forward to announcing our passive testing results of our polymer ridge waveguide device in the near future."
keep the pr's coming Z, it's finally TIME!
are you sure?
punkipoo dominating the boards like rodman, russell and wilt the stilt
he spends an awful lot of time giving unselfishly to us all, or, maybe just hoping to shake free another lot of shares, in any case, somehow I think that this pumpkin is a bit rotten on the inside
BS meter flying off the chart!
for starters, don't think they would have completed the rigorous commercial testings of 2,000 hours each for thermal stability and then photo-chemical stability, and then further extend these tests to 4,000 hours of increased intensities
second, GP has no clue on ANY of the myriad material systems that are being used in the device builds, and as I understand they are continuing to create new material systems with even greater specs regardless of the fact that the current material systems are commercially viable and will increase speed while reducing power and cost at factors the industry cannot ignore
now be a good boy punkipoo and go back to the patch where you belong
six didn't lose money here, I got him out in the 1.20's last time it was there, it was his breakeven and he thanked me for it, he was incessantly whining last time the stock was in the tank, but he got out on the last pop to the 1.20's, his continued incessant whining just shows his true character, if you pull up a 10 year chart this stock is basically flat at 1.00 the whole timeframe, everybody invested here should be in at roughly a buck on average, and the risk/reward is favorable for huge gains imo, do I wish I had sold the 3.33 high a few years back and bought back now, heck yeah, but I am not willing to risk being on the outside when this thing rockets, bottom line, the likes of the superior talent on board here is beyond reproach, and I will not let certain bozo's like six get to me one iota, these cockroaches will disappear when this takes off, you can count on it, period

WOW, punkipoo accounts for most the posts here lately, he must be trying to put one last push for sellers, amazing how he amps up the volume near the lows, it's his m.o.
hope you don't get caught off base trying to steal shares punki
Timeline showing ACTIVE DEVICE PROCESS begins now (JAN) with the new year, wonder how quickly we can get specs after this process begins, I know we are all anxious having been here so long, it also shows POLING for (FEB) and (MAR), presumably the latest we get device specs would be with the first quarter results
anyone hearing things along the way please share with us here, tia
Steve, I saw 48,000 bought at .60 right at the open, there was a buying flurry at the open, let's see if it happens again this morning, amazing how little volume it takes to move the pps substantially here (up or down)
personally adding to my position again here today, looking forward to 2016 and would never have thought after Z's update coupled with the successes of the rigorous material systems testing that I'd being getting shares down here at this level
still, keeping the faith
actually, never been more pumped too!
also, still not favoring a buyout, prefer partnering deals, royalty deals, etc
ps - don't think we will being looking for the GP in the patch this time around in 2016, at least that's what I'm hearing
x said, As for Perk no longer in the mix, I'm not sure, it depends on how you read it.
x, after recently passing all of the rigorous stability testing, how could the perk NOT be in the mix of the "material systems"
I thought the perk was the "secret sauce" to the whole stability issue that plagued the big boys who spent a decade plus in time and billions in combined costs only to all abandon all those research efforts
anyone care to weigh in on the topic please do, and anyone who has spoken with management may have crossed this bridge please share, tia
gates, it seems like an orchestrated attack on the pps, I really don't think it is raise buyers causing this, unless they are professional hedge fund type players, lpc? looks like pirates working to accumulate at lowest possible pps, can be a dangerous game if Z puts out a nice development milestone pr, they won't get the fear shares back below their average sale point, buying the blood in the street & still keeping the faith, as you point out we are at lowest pps in multiple years just after receiving most positive developments summary ever, personally looking for a big volume buying bounce very soon, perhaps today we see that happening
I doubt that, we should get a pr on the raise being filled any time now
x, walter, any others who may have participated please weigh in on the topic
whenever punkipoo gets loud and proud historically marks the bottom, so I picked up some more here at .60
x, walter, did you guys get in on the raise? If so, did you flip out of any previous holdings as someone suggested was happening driving the pps down?
I suspect it should be about filled at this point, anyone have the details yet?
from 17715 to 17723 seem to all be deleted, wonder what that was all about?
I like the tightness of the Ridge Waveguide Modulator timetable, and what gives me even more confidence is the fact that so much time was spent on the rigorous testing of the material systems yielding successful testing results necessary for commercial viability ahead of using them in the proto devices, and that adds to the credibility this time around imo
Also, the portfolio of material systems seems to be robust, with different variations designed for different applications, and new and better systems still being created even as the proto creation process has begun for the 1st gen protos, this should secure an upgrade pathway
The confidence level of Z has never been higher, but yes, I agree this has become a show me story, so please Z, be true to your timeline!
still a believer, keeping the faith
booyah!
Is the "core material" one of the "material systems" that surpassed the 2,000 hours of photochemical stability testing? From the sound of it these are two separate efforts.
Richard, I would think the core material used in the device structures would have to be part of the material systems that have undergone all of the extensive testings, the last of which was just completed, or there would be no sense in moving an untested core material into the device structures. I believe you are over-thinking it
If anyone does contact the company please confirm this with them, tia
Boooyaaah !
better hurry up and buy buy buy
sure feels like some stealth buyer (getting less stealth late today btw) thinks so!
booyah
I think the photochemical stability testing may be closing in on a successful completion based on the stealth buyer the past week or so, hope we get device news (with full specs) soon
I think chances are very high that if there would have been degradation it would have occurred by now, so imo a successful completion near-term is a slam dunk
I agree with the suspect pre-market trades, with a thin bid market makers can easily take out stop loss orders too right?
Gonna use the money to accumulate more here but darn tough to do it without raising the price above .75 and I think that's pretty steep.
why the sudden change of heart six?
and does this mean we all here will need to endure your incessant whining once again?
on a positive note, since I got you out whole in the 1.20's you can get tons more shares for the same investment dollars this time around, congrats on that score
gates, I concur, some here have said we need to hire bunches of scientists to advance this thing in a hurry, I think you got it right, we have some top names on our team that have access to the best of the best specialized players, so a small few hand selected players by these gurus is much more likely to bring this to our long awaited fruition
still, keepin the faith
coolair, only difference is you and I are not even close to being " one of the most prolific inventors in the field of optoelectronics."
With over 200 USPTO issued utility patents (and over 395 including national and international derivatives), Dr. Lebby is considered to be one of the most prolific inventors in the field of optoelectronics. He is also a Fellow and member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and the Optical Society of America (OSA).
I don't take what Lebby says about Lightwave Logic lightly, and don't think othere investors here should either, so that being said
Dr. Lebby stated, “Lightwave Logic is in the vanguard of polymer photonics. Its multi-chromophore process has already developed promising materials that offer the scalability and performance necessary to challenge Indium Phosphide, especially for high volume datacenter market opportunities. Polymers also have inherent advantages when compared to Silicon Photonics.”
booyah baby
During his presentations Dr. Lebby coined the term Integrated Photonics to describe what he saw as an unprecedented move to the miniaturization of photonics functions on a single chip and drew an analogy to the development of Integrated Circuits for computers.
Also during the presentation, he discussed Polymer Photonics and Silicon Photonics as competitive forces that could challenge Indium Phosphide—widely regarded as the incumbent technology.
Dr. Lebby stated, “Lightwave Logic is in the vanguard of polymer photonics. Its multi-chromophore process has already developed promising materials that offer the scalability and performance necessary to challenge Indium Phosphide, especially for high volume datacenter market opportunities. just got in from the casinos (vegas) and read through the posts here, come on you knucklehead(s), if Lebby's statement is in quotes as having been said during the presentation(s), then I'm sure he said it. Do you guys really think our guys would just make up a statement like that & pin it on Lebby's name as having been said if it really wasn't?
should get to 2000 hours on the photochemical stability testing of its material candidates by exposing them to the visible light spectrum soon
hopefully we get device protos/full specs soon after, better bring your blankets, going to be cold in the patch this year, what with el nino , and climate change, and all, lol
whatever happened to global warming? again, too funny
Don't make stuff up unless you are sure.
I agree with you Steve, it would be wrong for six to mislead investors like that so he better post some proof of that claim
also, as I pointed out in this post, Greenlee has had 3 careers in 3 years and is on the outs currently looking for a 4th now
http://investorshub.advfn.com/boards/read_msg.aspx?message_id=116512167
lastly, there is a big difference between Lauro and Lebby, six would have to be a fool not to recognize that the latter is much greater confirmation of the validity of the science here, and its potential for great success
