And I still believe that PDI will be truly worse 4 shares of PTQ : $ 1.50 x 4 = 6.00 , but I also anticipate to have more shares and warrants issued to “ friends and family “ increasing OS, but who is complaining ?
MWM, their symbol is SVL.V your quick DD would realy help me to evaluate this co.
What is upside here?
Silver Crest Mining looks good. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Doing my own DD, production still not as high, 600k oz, but there is a possibility of increase, thanks.
To find silver anywhere on PTQ properties would be "a silver lining ", yea ..
Good post , Mjk... May be they are busy pouring gold - that's the only excuse they'd have. When is Q report due?
latest from Panama :
" President Barack Obama has given instructions to "intensify" the effort to resolve outstanding issues surrounding the Panama Trade Promotion Agreement (TPA) in order to proceed this year with the ratification of the agreement, said yesterday Ron Kirk, a representative U.S. government business.
"I can say today that the President has directed me to immediately intensify the dialogue with Colombia and Panama, with the aim of resolving outstanding issues as soon as possible this year, and immediately bring these agreements to Congress for consideration" , Kirk said at a hearing before the Committee on Ways and Means of the House of Representatives.
However, Kirk said that "there are serious issues" to be resolved with both countries. "Some of these issues are directed to basic values and U.S. interests, such as protection of labor rights. Any time [to ratify the agreements] will depend on the successful resolution of these issues. "
Kirk made it clear that more is expected of Panama, but did not specify details. He said: "Colombia and Panama have begun to take some important steps, but more needs to be done ... It is critical that they come to the table prepared to take meaningful action. "...
Statements Trade Representative Ron Kirk created an atmosphere of optimism in Panama."
DVM, I agree. It is easy to get caught in euphoria, but overwhelming majority of us knew that new mining code will pass. Actually I am surprised with intensity of demonstration by Indian fellows. I do feel for them and hope that some kind of compromised can be strike. Panama has an amazing wildlife/landscape worse preserving and I hope all developers will exercise environmentally friendly and responsible actions.
When it comes to royalties - my understanding was that we are excluded from any payments for the next few years.
SP will take care itself when PTQ will finally turns a profit, I would like to see fr..ng 25k oz. next quarter .
.. Amen to that ..
I like this stock, why SP is so undervalued, is it because $11.50 per oz. cost is too high?
WOW !!! thanks a bunch... lot to learn.
NYB, I notice your impressive resume in silver mining, may be you can point me in the right direction- successful silver start-up , ready to go into operation, flying under radar yet. Thanks.
Nice post, I am looking for silver start-up and like Apogee fundamentals, but risk... To be or not to be ?
Still thinking... May be I will start with little nibble..thanks
I've been looking at this company and feel same way - nationalization by Bolivian government is a big risk.
It is remarkable that we managed to exercise almost 6 mil. warrants without any effect to SP. Just shows a resilience of our little gem , IMO.
MJK, please explain, I am glad PTQ is Canadian/Panamian company , but why so much anti-American feelings?
We left this country during Carter Admin. and gave them canal for free..
DVM, I stumble on PTQ thru NSU message board. I used to own NSU when someone mention it on a message board and after DD I realized while NSU was a definite double, PTQ had a huge potential and at least 4- bagger. So word of the mouth does works sometimes.
Since then NSU did double, so and PTQ plus more, and more to go...
Thanks, I'll check them out.
Yes, looks like it is something new on I-hub, we can post our new findings but there is no place to discuss it.
looks like board is dead on this Sunday, football is not until 5 pm..
May be Lo let me slide on Sunday with this post:
My PTQ boat is loaded, so I have been looking for “PTQ like” silver and cobalt start-up operations. I did find interesting “cobalt to be build” mine, but not a silver. May be someone on this board can point me in the right direction, thanks.
Jal, I disagree with you, PRD is more like socialist/communist party. Many years ago I used to live under control of those folks. They like to make everyone poor and ignorant. It is easy to control populace that way . But I agree with Just4fun, lets switch this board to investments/ PTQ discussions.
Hi everyone, I own PTQMF – gold mine in Panama getting hot. Presently looking for start-up silver mine. If someone can point one I‘d appreciate.
Seems to me it is all show- new law is passing anyway. They need to learn how to work together, similar to our EPA.
Thanks Salvo for holding Fort for me. I just got back from vacation, had a great time. Weather in Caribbean is perfect for mining : 85 and no rain ( smile). I am the one who is pushing PTQ in green today by spending my yearly bonus as promised to Mjk, .. Will spend some time reading all posts.
VB
Resilient- is one word to describe PTQ stock. We bounce back off middle Bollinger band and here we go again. I am leaving on vacation tonight and have full confidence in Salvo to hold the Fort as he promised.
I never shorted before, but my limited knowledge on a subject: short positions have to be closed on 3-rd Friday of the month. So if geico can tell us what was a strike price for tomorrow ( 3-rd Friday) and how many shares, then according to our SP we can judge if we will bounce up or down.
No problem Lojiko, you sound a little bit “ down”, keep your tail up and good luck with a class.
Lojiko ,why did you erased my post about possible oil discovery in Panama?. I understand that we are to discuss gold here, but since PDI will be working on infrastructure and if huge deposits of oil confirmed, then members of this board (I think) would like to know that. No hard feeling here, just wondering.
Ricnat , you are making lotsa sense, talking with clear head, that why I like this board – all different points of view.
Ha-ha, Manta. Unlike you, I am just a poor ole’ boy. 4-bagger from this level will pay my house off and that would be just fine, ;0)
Thanks, I am afraid to place stop-lost- someone might steel my shares ;o)
Mjk, I love your optimism, I think everyone on the board is green by now. Personally for me it turns-out to be 2-bagger so far, but who is complaining – love it.
Rest of you guys pushing stock to $2 already, being a bit selfish I’d like SP to come down a bit and retest $1.10 support to give me chance to buy some more shares (I am getting nice bonus next week). I have a nice number in mind divided by 4.
Old European proverb: One who doesn’t take a risk – does not drink Champagne.
Cheers.
I also voted yesterday over internet after receiving control number in a mail. They were trying to send cont.# over internet last week but it did not work. Anyway, Mjk 10-bagger wow! I think it is a 4-bagger, but if ODN results are extremely exciting (like twice amount of gold then Moleron) then all bets are off.
Mantequilla, thanks for posting that info. I am curious to know how much PDI shares will be priced in. Almost everyone on the board assumes that it will be 1/4 of PTQ share, I am on the other hand willing to theorized that SP can be much higher..
So I guess: by February we will have new mining law and March – April will bring us PDI spin-off retroactive to a January date when big investors scoop-up some shares... anyone's guess?
I'd like to ask mining experts on this board:
"The Company also wishes to highlight that, in addition to the volumes produced during the three month period ended November 2010, it also increased its stockpile of gold for future process and heap leaching by 8,700 ounces. The combined amount of gold processed and stockpiled was 24,053 ounces. "
My understanding is that 8700oz is already produced gold, because for leaching one might need ore, is that correct?
Secondly, I can theorized that company stockpiling the gold ( 24000 oz !) in case of "rainy day" ? no pun intended. That stockpile represent a quarterly output of 100000 producer !!!
Correct me if I am wrong.
Wow! I was away from a computer all day- so if I to speculate then obviously the Big investors more inform then some of us (not counting Mjk and Manta) ha-ha... also that new mining rules which Mjk is talking about – that is huge, that is a game-breaker. It is quite possible that investors in Panama are more knowledgeable than rest of us and buying big blocks. And of cause something is definitely in a pipe. Don’t unlatch your seatbelts lady and gentleman.
There is a possibility that stock market is willing to forgive past issue and looking forward... Markets always look forward, IMO
Welcome aboard 792, and tight your belt- it’s going to be a bumpy ride, as you said.. we just have to stop drinking cool-aid ,like DVM mention most likely $2 by end of the year..
Stocknup, what is your interest in this company? If you so unhappy, why don’t you sell me your shares on Monday take money and invest it in your coal company. I cannot say that I am happy with Q2, but we are trying constructively analyze situation, here interesting post from SH, by birch :
“2,289 tones per day for the plant before heavy rains and ,mechanical breakdowns.
After implementing changes in preventive maintenance and improvements in mining and process operations, production averaged 2,549 tonnes per day for the period from Sept. 8 to Oct. 6, with gold pours totalling 6,120.5 ounces, equivalent to a daily average gold pouring rate of 212 ounces, or 6,300 to 6,500 ounces per month.
This was expected to reduce cash costs to about $600 per oz
This upward trend in production continued to Oct. 13 with an average production rate of 2,779 tonnes per day and a daily gold production average of 226 ounces or about 6800 oz per month (about 80,000 oz per year).
After Oct 13, they again encounted production constraints which continued thru most of the remainder of Q2.
This is why production was 13,500 oz and not the 17,500 oz that most of us expected for Q2.
Cash costs did however decline to about $750 per oz, consistent with increased production in Q2 relative to Q1.
There is little doubt that cash costs will decline to about $600 per oz, as production increases to 100,000 oz per year.
Its my understanding that production rate is once again reaching new highs and that the CIL is progressing as expected.
Debt financing costs were quite substantial in Q2.
These have now entirely dissapeared due to the recent financings and the gold sales.
Free cash flows consequently will now be quite substantial.
Also, PTQ has about $160 million in forward tax losses to protect future earnings and about $55 million in cash will be added when all of the current warrants are fully exercised.
Taken together, while Q2 was somewhat dissapointing, we now have a debt free company with strong cash inflows from increasing production at lower costs , while warrant exercise will add bundles of cash to fund the cost of production expansion now underway.
Its good to get Q2 out of the way, as it was constraining the share price.
