Won't matter in the AL imo. The Astros are far and away the best team. They've endured a ton of injuries to key players and still dominate the league.
Come October, the Yanks are going to need someone to give them 5 innings to get to the bullpen. I wouldn't trust any of their current starters to do that.
There's no way they're going to put up 8 runs against Verlander or Cole, and right now, there's no way they'll be in too many 3-2 October games.
Could be worse: your starter could have been the All Star Tanaka. What a line for him tonight!
Was just going to post that! Harvey made 11 million this year with the Angels, who can't seem ever to spend money wisely (except for Trout).
I wonder if Harvey might have a role to play in someone's bullpen...or if this is the end of the line. Talk about a dramatic fall...
CLSD. Have you had a look at their cash situation?
Just checked out the filth marisnick put onto Lucroy. The replay makes it pretty clear it was a full force cheap shot of the lowest degree. Makes machado look like a choir boy. Here's hoping it's minimum 10 games.
Mackey Sasser?
I'd take him in a heartbeat! That's a pretty short leash you have there. The guy might be struggling a bit, but he has proven he can get it done. Barring an injury, he would be a 1-2 starter in almost every rotation in MLB.
Nope. It was Brodie. First deal of his former career... when he was 6.
I think the Mets will use him out of the bullpen.
Thanks for your opinion.
1. Would you believe a pump PR from the company over the assessment from an independent analyst! If you're referring to Maxim, that projection was made before the 15 million cash raise in March 2019
2. There is absolutely no reason to do an R/S at this point in time other than to dilute and raise cash. Actually some funds do not buy stocks under $1 OR even $5, but you would know this.
3. You will see a ticker symbol change, and they may even change the name of the company to help lure in new investors (post R/S). I've seen this happen far too many times. This may or may not happen, though there's no doubt it has happened far too many times, especially with bio penny stocks.
As I said, this r/s news sucks. But your statement that the company will be out of money by the end of 2019 is just not born out by the facts: the company has over $40 million on hand with a burn rate of $6.5 million (high end) per quarter. GLTY
I'm not convinced there's much value in referencing a stale Maxim forecast. The Yahoo info is more in line with what the company itself said on 14 May 2019:
Turning to cash, the company held $40.6 for million in cash, cash equivalents and short-term bond deposit as of March 31, 2019 as compared to $30.2 million as of December 31, 2018. In February 2019 we completed the public offering with gross proceeds of $15.4 million, which provide us with a cash towards the first half of 2021, a runway of more than two years sufficient to fund our operations to our most significant clinical milestone.
I'm not happy at all that BLRX has effectively gone ahead with a reverse split. And with bio stocks, there can be no guarantee that the company won't raise $$ at any point. Just trying to understand the reasons for your assertion that that BLRX will run out of cash by the end of 2019 when all evidence suggests otherwise.
Where are you getting your information PennyWorld? I just read the latest earnings transcript and BLRX states they're cashed up until mid 2021.
BLRX with the equivalent of a 15:1 rs. Not what I was hoping for, what with recent years financing done, loads of h2 catalysts and no delisting threat imminent. Hopefully no new offering is on the works here.
Hiura ain't goin nowhere! They let Gennett walk for nothing and blew it with Schoop. Looks like 2b is finally sorted for the contract-controlled future.
That said, the Mets have to be sellers. They're a decent team playing rotten baseball. The problem is that the players they need to jettison are the players nobody wants. Even if the Mets pay a substantial garbage removal premium.
Cano was a yet another reminder that drug cheats should be dumped and avoided at all costs. Braun is a daily reminder of this as well for Brewers fans.
Sounds great. You can have your choice of Braun or Aguilar. Or both! +
Agreed on Shaw and Hiura. Can't believe it took this long, what with Shaw having an option left. Should have let Shaw find his swing in the minors.
Brewers pitching has been woeful, especially the starters. It's looking more and more like that staff over performed last season. They need to make a move this year as Moose and Grandal won't be back in 2020.
You have my sympathy. That blown game today was hard to watch for anyone who isn't a Phils fan.
Hard to believe this team is that bad.
Bruce sucked when he played for the Mets. You couldn't wait to see him head out of town. Maybe his resurgence has something to do with being on a contender.
Yup, Mets aren't toast yet. Yet. And the good news for you is that it's the youngsters who are producing. There's a strong core with Alonso and McNeil and Davis that should keep the Mets strong looking ahead. Old, overpaid veterans who don't produce are a sign of a shonky GM. Sure, you can say all you want about what the player did before the signing, but the difference between a solid front office and a soon to be former GM is the ROI for the big contracts. Brodie has set himself up nicely for a return to the ranks of player agent. Cano, Lowrie, Diaz (who in all fairness can still bring it but definitely overachieved last season)- these are the Brodie legacy players. And no argument about Calloway from me, but you have to trot your $$ players out every day. Can't make the boss look like a stooge.
Brewers drop 4 straight. Since they packed Keston Hiura back to the minors, they've been on a downhill slide. I'm actually pretty amazed that they're this close to the Cubs, what with 1B Jesus Aguilar hitting well under his pre-buffet table weight at .201, with a whopping 5 dingers for the year. Look across the diamond and you get Travis Shaw, whose stellar 1 for 4 day today against the Reds lifted his average to .171 with 5 HRs for the year.
That's the corner infield situation. The power positions. You can't trot out 2 dead-certain rally killers every day and expect to win games.
Ramos is the only name of the first 4 that might spark some interest. You know you've made a horrible deal for a player when you can't get rid of him... short of eating the contract. And that's where the Mets are. The quicker they suck it up and dump some of these chumps the better. Look, the line up is decent this year. And the starting staff is quality. I'd happily trade the Brewers starters for yours... even throw in Braun too. Good company for Cano... they can spend some quality time together in the locker room swapping rehab and PED stories.
Mets went for the quick fix this year and ended up compounding the problem.
You get Paxton, Ottavino and Briton in the off-season and crow Now, how 'bout some pitching. You Yankees fans are just plain greedy!
Don't forget Morales or Ellsbury either. CASHman is indeed king!
Looks like a steep learning curve for Brodie. Trader Jerry takes some flack for his ADHD approach to wheelin and dealin, but he understands the basic premise of any deal: sell high, fleece the new guy who wants to make a splash.
Is his contract up at the end of the season?
Mean while in a game with early playoff implications, the marlins are ruining Jimmy Nelson's return to the bigs. The crew's pitching, especially the starters, has been a ? this season, but it's the bats that have snoozed in this series.
Now Kimbrel signs with the dreaded cubs and it's looking like a division repeat is slipping away.
Brewers getting absolutely destroyed by the flippin' Marlins tonight. These are games you have to win. Sheesh, it's hard enough beating the good teams...
Could be time to call in Reggie for a bit of mentoring.
Just watched the Yanks/Sox recap. Indeed, as was once famously quipped: Down goes Frazier.
Even in my 50+ league, you don't see 'em booted like that too often. Scranton might be too generous...maybe a move to Miami instead...
Best dig of the night came from the Diamondbacks announcer:
"Looking at this Mets bullpen, you can see how Degrom won the Cy Young award with just 10 victories".
Gotta say, the Mets offense BLEW during this game. They were soft and easy. 8 innings they went down in order.
Brewers win a tough one, even when Hader can't get the job done.
NL central is easily the best division in baseball. All teams still in with a shot at taking out the top spot.
In contrast, the rest of MLB is a mess. Rays and Braves are keeping their divisions watchable, but the rest of the races are pretty much done and dusted. Yeah, I know it's a 162 game season, but do you really think the dodgers, astros or twins will even be challenged? So you have 3 divisions with 50 game seasons and 2 divisions where it's only a question of who takes first and who is the wild card. What's left? 110 games of losers kicking each other when they're down, jockeying to get rid of their veterans so the fat get fatter.
No wonder baseball has a serious attendance problem.
Yup. They blew that one But it happens. Even to Hader!
That Mariners deal was putting a lot of smiles on Mets'fans faces before the season started. Didn't you give it a thumbs up?
Maybe an agent isn't the best pathway to a successful GM job in the bigs. Probably cheaper to hire a baby -faced stats dude fresh out of university like the Brewers did. ??
I think it's Houston. Then in the next tier, the Yanks and Red Sox. The Astros have it all.
I honestly think the yanks are a better team without Stanton. Judge is the big stick every team needs in the line up. He has carried the yanks previously and the line up seems to fire on more cylinders when he's in the 4 hole. I don't think Stanton provides the same spark.
He is indeed! Yanks productivity has been off the charts without the big name stars. How do you sit these guys when Stanton, Didi and lurch return?
Come in to my office. Thanks for the .338 average, the power and the stellar d. Here's your bus ticket to Columbus.
Schoop is having a nice season in Minnesota, but IMO, DJ has been the shrewdest off season signing from the massive class of 2nd basemen.
It is amazing. Now let's see them do 1/2 of that against the Astros, because that's what's waiting in October.
Wow. Maybe crazy market conditions call for crazy trading patterns! Nice job to claw back 41% in a few weeks.
BLRX Sheff bought in 100k shares. No doubt the flock will follow. Could explain the volume.
I still think the Mets could pull their thumbs out and make a run in that division this season...just can't afford any more sweeps by the Marlins.
Maybe you could trade managers.... the Mets trade Callaway to the Nats for Dave Martinez. Looks like it's a close race about who's getting fired first.
