Juniors Benefit from Falling Molybdenum Prices
By Jim Nelson
November 11, 2008
[This is an article from Agora Financial's Penny Sleuth. It's a free article so I figured it's all right to repost. Here's the link: http://www.pennysleuth.com/ Randy]
As expected, molybdenum prices fell sharply over the last two weeks. The metal has finally fallen in line with the rest of the commodities. For us, this is a benefit.
Molybdenum is not traded like copper, zinc, or nickel. It’s such a rare element; it is actually bought by steel and fertilizer companies straight from miners. There’s simply not enough of it to be traded on a commodities exchange like other base metals.
Because many projects have been cut and expenses are tight worldwide, demand for many metals has temporarily slipped in recent months. That’s why copper, zinc, and nickel are down 50% to 55% since July.
Since molybdenum goes months without new bids, its price hasn’t budged from its $34 rate. That’s why, when the most recent contracts came in, the negotiated price was slashed.
While that doesn’t sound like a positive for molybdenum miners, it may prove to be the best possible development for many juniors. You see, most juniors aren’t actually selling any molybdenum yet. So, they don’t have to take this price. Others, however, are taking a beating.
Freeport-McMoran Copper & Gold Inc., for instance, has a few molybdenum mines in Colorado, where they are cutting production and closing up shop. This drop in prices makes these mines uneconomical to run. The company said they plan on reopening the mines when prices climb back up. But, it’ll take 12-18 months for Freeport to get them back to full capacity.
Shut downs like these should bring the price of molybdenum back up to where it was trading before and eliminate some competition. But there is a second development here…
Governments all over the world are tackling the current economic crisis in different ways. One approach is starting to emerge in many countries. President-elect Barack Obama has repeatedly stated that the best way to fight through a crisis like this is by implementing more building projects. Referring to the Tennessee Valley project under FDR during the Great Depression, Obama claims that infrastructure projects offer the best for both the country and its citizens.
Other world leaders are jumping on to this approach. China just unveiled a $586 billion economic stimulus plan that will invest heavily in the country’s growing infrastructure needs. When there’s infrastructure in the works, demand for molybdenum goes through the roof. Steelmakers require molybdenum for building everything from pipelines to construction equipment.
Developments like these will surely boost the price of the metal by the time juniors’ mines come online.
Unfortunately, there aren’t too many players in this field. Here’s a short list of a few that should benefit:
Quadra Mining Ltd (QUA: TSE) has a 211-million pound molybdenum mine with planned development program through mid-2009.
Roca Mines Inc (ROK: CVE) operates a 191-million pound molybdenum mine already in production with planned increases during the next several quarters.
Augusta Resource Corp (AZC: AMEX) has a 190-million pound molybdenum mine scheduled for initial production in 2011.
None of these are recommended for the faint of heart. We aren’t suggesting you purchase shares of any of these three. But as the Chinese proverb goes. “A crisis is an opportunity riding the dangerous wind.” The crisis wind may be blowing…
Sincerely,
Jim Nelson
P.S.: If you think 200 million pounds of molybdenum is enticing, you need to check out our latest find, which is sitting on 1.3 billion pounds of molybdenum and is set to begin production in 2010. That’s the largest pure play in the business, and one of the cheapest price tags. Check it out here…

THE FREE OFFER OF THE GOSPEL.
[This article is from a longer report called Biblical Evangelism Today. Ironically, it was was written in 1954 and is still the position of the Orthodox Presbyterian Church. The following link is to the full report if you're interested. Enjoy. http://www.opc.org/chm/BEToday.html This article clearly articulates the extremes to be avoided....Arminianism and Hyper-Calvinism. The Biblical position is between these.
There's also a study report dedicated to just the question of the unfeigned offer of the gospel here: http://www.opc.org/GA/free_offer.html]
As pertinent to this subject there are in particular two evils that have to be avoided. The first is the presentation of the gospel with an Arminian complexion or on an Arminian basis. A very considerable part of the evangelism that has been conducted for several decades, if not for the last two centuries, has been of an Arminian character. This type of evangelism proceeds on the assumptions that Christ died to save all men or, at least, to make provision for the salvation of all men, and that all men have by natural retention or by gracious restoration the ability to believe in Christ. The overtures of grace in the gospel are therefore presented on the assumption that God has done His utmost in this matter of salvation and that now it is left to men in the exercise of their own autonomous will to accept Christ. The really decisive factor in the matter of salvation, now that Christ has died and is freely offered by men, is held to be the autonomous decision and action on the part of men themselves.
It must be admitted that this construction of the gospel and of man's responsibility and opportunity has many appealing and plausible features. In favor of it might seem to be the fact that it has produced mighty results. Indeed it has seemed to many that this is the only feasible way in which to present the claims of Christ and the appeal for faith. Being the predominant form of evangelism in many parts, people of Reformed persuasion have readily fallen into line with this type of evangelistic effort.
Oftentimes, as an accompaniment of this conception of the message and of the response to the message, there has been fostered a certain type of high-pressure appeal and of emotional excitement that is scarcely compatible with the sobriety and dignity that ought to characterize the preaching of the gospel and scarcely consistent with the deliberateness and intelligence appropriate to the exercise of faith in Christ as Saviour and Lord.
The second evil is that of hyper-Calvinism. Those thoroughly convinced of the error of Arminian anthropology and soteriology have quite properly reacted from the type of evangelism that is the characteristic expression of it. But deep persuasion of the particularism of the plan of salvation and revulsion from Arminian evangelism have sometimes been the occasion for the abandonment of evangelism altogether or, at least, for the denial of the full and free offer of the gospel to lost men. If this reaction does not go the length of theoretically denying the free offer of the gospel, it nevertheless manifests itself in a conspicuous awkwardness and lack of spontaneity in the preaching of the free offer. Reaction from the error of Arminian doctrine and methods together with persuasion of man's total inability and God's absolute predestination have rendered many unable to understand or work out in practice the complete congruity of man's inability and of consistent particularism in the plan of salvation with the full, free, and unfettered offer of Christ to lost sinners, and they have also been unable to appreciate the congruity of man's inability and God's predestination with the necessity for the most urgent and passionate appeal for the exercise of faith and repentance.
The only proper path for true evangelism is the path that lies between these two extremes. Evangelism must understand that election and the particularism of the whole process of redemption puts no fence around the free offer of Christ in the gospel. Neither does human inability and the necessity of efficacious grace in any way circumscribe the offer of a free and full salvation to those who are dead in trespasses and sins. And the responsibility, privilege and opportunity of lost men as they are confronted by the external call of the gospel are not in the least curtailed by the fact that efficacious grace is indispensable to the saving exercise of such responsibility and to the saving embrace of the privilege and opportunity.
I think these excerpts are righth ontrack. I can remember when I was a younger believer this question was one that was tough to grasp.
The denomination I belong to has study on this very point. I'll have to go look for it, I'm pretty sure it's available on line....it' titled something like, "The Unfeigned Offer ofthe Gospel." It has to do with whether the offer of the gospel is serious when it is extended to all men...."Many are called, few are chosen."
If I find it I will post it as a reply to this one.
Randy

IT IS ENOUGH FOR THE DISCIPLE TO BE LIKE HIS TEACHER.
Matthew 10:25
No one will dispute this statement, for it would not be proper for the pupil to be exalted above his Teacher. When our Lord was on earth, what was the treatment He received? Were His claims acknowledged, His instructions followed, His perfections worshiped by those whom He came to bless? No. "He was despised and rejected by men."1 His place was outside the city: Cross-bearing was His occupation. Did the world provide Him with comfort and rest? "Foxes have holes, and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of man has nowhere to lay His head."2
This inhospitable country provided Him no shelter: It cast Him out and crucified Him. If you are a follower of Jesus and maintain a consistent, Christlike walk and behavior, you must expect to experience persecution and rejection also. Your Christian testimony will be scrutinized and criticized. People will treat it as they treated the Savior-they will despise it. Do not imagine that pagans will admire you or that the more holy and the more Christlike you are, the more peaceably people will act toward you. If they did not prize the polished gem, do you think that they will esteem the rough cut jewel? If they have referred to Jesus as Satan, how much more will they denigrate the teacher's disciples? If we were more like Christ, we would be more hated by His enemies. It is a sad dishonor to a child of God to be the world's favorite.
It is a very bad omen to hear a wicked world clap its hands and shout "Well done" to the Christian man. He may begin to look to his character and wonder whether he has been doing wrong when the unrighteous give him their approval. Let us be true to our Master and have no friendship with a blind and base world that scorns and rejects Him. Far be it from us to seek a crown of honor where our Lord found only a crown of thorns.

Wow. What a blessing. Thanks for drawing this sermon to my attention.
I remember quite a while ago we began an online study of Romans...It was these same chapters that the Lord used early on in my Christian life to convert and illumine my soul.
It is good stuff. His account of the Indian religious festival in his introduction was amazing....and illustrates generally how many people try to use religion (whether Christian or not) to to appease God and insure their eternal welfare. And the Word says...."we are saved by grace through faith, not of works....it is a gift of God." Amazing grace.

Randy

Thanks Tenac. I've benefited much from John McArthor's radio ministry. Thanks for posting this resource.
Randy
So now we know your last name????
Well there we have it. No body wins.
Unless and of course unless one is right and one is wrong. One is True and one is False. Hmm.
What do I have to lose by being right? Or wrong for that matter?
Hmmm.
I'M RIGHT
Long life, happiness, contentment is adverse circumstances, moral courage, hope, assurance, understanding, wisdom, knowledge, confidence, etc. Oh yeah, an eternity with God in the New Heavens and the New Earth. Sound OK to me.
I'M WRONG
Long life, Long life, happiness, contentment is adverse circumstances, moral courage, hope, assurance, understanding, wisdom, knowledge, confidence, etc. After death, nothingness and it ends up life was all there was and I lived the way I did.
YOU'RE RIGHT
There really is no purpose or meaning to life. Personal fame and fortune and pleasure is the best one can hope for. After you die there's nothing. The end.
YOU'RE WRONG
You enjoyed what you could while alive...you pass into death only to realize that God is real He's not pleased with the how you lived. You get condemned to an eternity in hell. Not good for you.
SOOOO..... Why not listen to Puddleglum who affirms that he'd rather live in a world believing that there's a God and hope and light, even though he can't see them, than to believe he lives in a world where such doesn't exist.
I would add that true saving faith and a living relationship with the Triune God is much more than the intellectual acknowledgement that he exists. Even the demons believe that and tremble.
Do you honestly believe that we live in a materialistic world?
Generally, people will reject God's existence but still believe in voodoo or witchcraft or vampires or UFOs or some other form of evil (non-material beings).
Later and wishing you all the best (see post 10812).
Randy
BTW, I wish you and yours the best (and by best I don't mean what the world means).
Grace and Peace,
Randy
Nice to hear from you WEaRe:
I think I pretty well acknowledged the circular reasoning thing already...except I called them presuppositions.
I find most christians wishy washy. This afternoon I've been reading Fox's Book of the Martyrs. Want something real? Want something that demonstrates the sureness or "staunchness" of conviction....just ask someone if they would seal their faith with their blood.
How about you? Your so adament about denying the Christian faith, a deconvert as you described yourself. Would you recant if put on the gallows? Would you maintain the teachings of humanism and evolution if it was going to cost you something? Pain, loved ones, happiness, home?
To think that one could joke or make light about such serious things is aweful.
The fool says in his heart, "There is no God."
If you and zillions of others join the chorus it will get louder, but it won't change the truth.
Randy
Hey Guys....
I've been busy with other things...but it seems that our downward slide has turned around.
The last few days that bid and ask have moved ups 100% from where were were a week or two ago. I tell you what these low priced stocks can drive a person nuts.
Well, my guess is that we have some optimism building for the next financial release....for the 3rd Quarter.
Personally, I'm not sure what to expect. I've been overly optimistic in the past...but but would guess that our revenues will have continued growing .... who knows if as fast as they first part of the year....but even our mid quarter report was pretty rosey. So far DRG management has met their goals and guidance. They forecasted $40 Million in revenue for 2008. After the projecting what we expect for the Third Quarter we should be approaching the low to mid $30 Millions.
Will DRG turn a profit? It's possible, but I think with their new office space, their new call center, their added employees (from earlier this year), the start-up of their new subsidiary, Medico Express, and their customer tracking software project.....it will be pretty impressive if they do.
Anyone have any thoughts to share?
Go DRGP!!!!!

FWIW, I live in South Dakota and I have casually followed Daktronics for the last year or so. From what I can tell DAKT has a bright future.
Even with their revised guidance, the company will continue growing at 15% plus. When we're talking about hundreds of millions of dollars in revenues...that's not bad.
Their balance sheet looks pretty strong:
Balance Sheet
Total Cash (mrq): 4.80M
Total Cash Per Share (mrq): 0.119
Total Debt (mrq): 962.00K
Total Debt/Equity (mrq): 0.005
Current Ratio (mrq): 1.57
Book Value Per Share (mrq): 4.73
Repost from Yahoo message board.....
Hey I feel for you man....I took a small position yesterday in some near term calls. Fortunately, I didn't spend that much. They're bidding zero for now.
For what it's worth....I've read before that the first 1/2 hours of the market is often the worst time to place and try to get your orders executed. This is probably because it is the easiest time for misdirection and headfakes. All for what it's worth.
Best of luck. I think long term DAKT will be fine. They're revised guidance is still projecting 15% growth above fiscal 2008. I think this is a case where expections of stellar growth is being replaced with a historically good growth.

Randy
Good Stuff.....check out this offer of $250,000 to anyone who can prove evolution:
http://www.drdino.com/articles.php?spec=67
Dr. Hovind's $250,000 Offer
Author: Dr. Kent Hovind
Formerly $10,000 offered since 1990
I have a standing offer of $250,000 to anyone who can give any empirical evidence (scientific proof) for evolution.* My $250,000 offer demonstrates that the hypothesis of evolution is nothing more than a religious belief.
Observed phenomena:
Most thinking people will agree that..
A highly ordered universe exists.
At least one planet in this complex universe contains an amazing variety of life forms.
Man appears to be the most advanced form of life on this planet.
Known options:
Choices of how the observed phenomena came into being..
The universe was created by God.
The universe always existed.
The universe came into being by itself by purely natural processes (known as evolution) so that no appeal to the supernatural is needed.
Evolution has been acclaimed as being the only process capable of causing the observed phenomena.
Evolution is presented in our public school textbooks as a process that:
Brought time, space, and matter into existence from nothing.
Organized that matter into the galaxies, stars, and at least nine planets around the sun. (This process is often referred to as cosmic evolution.)
Created the life that exists on at least one of those planets from nonliving matter (chemical evolution).
Caused the living creatures to be capable of and interested in reproducing themselves.
Caused that first life form to spontaneously diversify into different forms of living things, such as the plants and animals on the earth today (biological evolution).
People believe in evolution; they do not know that it is true. While beliefs are certainly fine to have, it is not fair to force on the students in our public school system the teaching of one belief, at taxpayers expense. It is my contention that evolutionism is a religious worldview that is not supported by science, Scripture, popular opinion, or common sense. The exclusive teaching of this dangerous, mind-altering philosophy in tax-supported schools, parks, museums, etc., is also a clear violation of the First Amendment.
How to collect the $250,000:
Prove beyond reasonable doubt that the process of evolution (option 3 above, under "known options") is the only possible way the observed phenomena could have come into existence. Only empirical evidence is acceptable. Persons wishing to collect the $250,000 may submit their evidence in writing or schedule time for a public presentation. A committee of trained scientists will provide peer review of the evidence offered and, to the best of their ability, will be fair and honest in their evaluation and judgment as to the validity of the evidence presented.
If you are convinced that evolution is an indisputable fact, may I suggest that you offer $250,000 for any empirical or historical evidence against the general theory of evolution. This might include the following:
The earth is not billions of years old (thus destroying the possibility of evolution having happened as it is being taught).
No animal has ever been observed changing into any fundamentally different kind of animal.
No one has ever observed life spontaneously arising from nonliving matter.
Matter cannot make itself out of nothing.
My suggestion:
Proponents of the theory of evolution would do well to admit that they believe in evolution, but they do not know that it happened the way they teach. They should call evolution their "faith" or "religion," and stop including it in books of science. Give up faith in the silly religion of evolutionism, and trust the God of the Bible (who is the Creator of this universe and will be your Judge, and mine, one day soon) to forgive you and to save you from the coming judgment on mans sin.
*NOTE:
When I use the word evolution, I am not referring to the minor variations found in all of the various life forms (microevolution). I am referring to the general theory of evolution which believes these five major events took place without God:
Time, space, and matter came into existence by themselves.
Planets and stars formed from space dust.
Matter created life by itself.
Early life-forms learned to reproduce themselves.
Major changes occurred between these diverse life forms (i.e., fish changed to amphibians, amphibians changed to reptiles, and reptiles changed to birds or mammals).
Answers to Commonly Asked Questions about the $250,000 Offer
Students in tax-supported schools are being taught that evolution is a fact. We are convinced that evolution is a religion masquerading as science and should not be part of any science curriculum. It has nothing to do with the subject of science. There are at least six different and unrelated meanings to the word evolution as used in science textbooks.
Cosmic evolution- the origin of time, space and matter. Big Bang.
Chemical evolution- the origin of higher elements from hydrogen.
Stellar and planetary evolution- Origin of stars and planets.
Organic evolution- Origin of life from inanimate matter.
Macroevolution- Origin of major kinds.
Microevolution Variations within kinds- Only this one has been observed, the first five are religious. They are believed, by faith, even though there is no empirical evidence to prove them in any way. While I admire the great faith of the evolutionists who accept the first five I object to having this religious propaganda included in with legitimate science at taxpayers expense.
Even a quick review of a typical public school textbook will show that students are being deceived into thinking all six types of evolution above have been proven because evidence is given for minor variations called micro-evolution. The first five are smuggled in when no one is watching.
This deception is a classic case of bait and switch. One definition of evolution (such as descent with modification) is given and the others are assumed to be true by association. The first five meanings are believed by faith, have never been observed and are religious. Only the last one is scientific. It is also what the Bible predicted would happen. The animals and plants would bring forth after their kind in Genesis 1.
Many have responded to my offer of $250,000 for scientific proof for evolution. The terms and conditions of the offer are detailed very clearly on my web site www.drdino.com. Here are some answers to some commonly asked questions.
The offer is legitimate. A wealthy friend of mine has the money in the bank. If the conditions of the offer are met, the money will be paid out immediately. My word is good.
The members of the committee of scientists that will judge the evidence are all highly trained, have advanced degrees in science as well as many years of experience in their field. For example: there is a zoologist, a geologist, an aerospace engineer, a professor of radiology and biophysics, and an expert in radio metric dating to name a few. They are busy people and do not wish to waste time on foolish responses. Nor do they wish to waste time arguing with skeptics and scoffers who seem to have nothing else to do than ask silly questions when they really dont want answers (so far this has been the typical response to the offer). I will not reveal their names for this reason. Any legitimate evidence will be forward to them and they will respond. At that time they may identify themselves if they choose. The merit of the evidence presented and the reasonableness of their response does not depend on who they are.
Evidence of minor changes within the same kind of plant or animal does not qualify as evidence and will not be sent to the committee to waste their time. For example, doubling the chromosome number of a sterile hybrid does not add additional genetic information; it duplicates what is already present in the parent plant. Because of the absence of additional genetic information the resultant plant can't be classified as different or new species. The plant may differ in a number of ways - bigger, vigorous as observed in any polyploid plants. Such easily recognizable phenotypic changes have confused many. Some evolutionists have jumped to the conclusion that a new species has been evolved. The key is that no new genetic information has been added. Even a new species is not proof for evolution as the offer calls for. See the conditions of the $250,000 offer on the web site. Some have insisted on a precise definition of the word kind. The Bible defines kind as those that are able to bring forth or reproduce. Those animals that were originally able to reproduce were of the same kind. There may be diversity now, 6000 years later, that could cause some varieties of the original kind to not be able to reproduce now. For example, I understand that rabbits from Alaska cannot breed with rabbits from Florida yet they are still the same kind of animal. It is obvious that a dog and a wolf are the same kind of animal (they are currently classed as different species yet are inter-fertile-- hmmm, what is the precise definition of species?) where a dog and a fish are not. While there may be some blurry areas that would be worthy of research in defining the original kinds, rather than muddy the issue with these type questions it would be wise to focus on the obvious cases like the dog/fish comparison. These are obviously different kinds of animals. So, for the sake of clarity, prove the dog and the fish evolved from a common ancestor. The honest scientist would be wise to admit that no evidence exists that could begin to prove the dog and the fish have a common ancestor. He may believe that they are related but that is not science and that is my point in the offer. Some believe this type of evolution happens but it should not be presented to innocent students as a fact. Further, it certainly is not evidence that the other four definitions of evolution have occurred.
The idea that the majority of scientists believe in the theory is not evidence either. Majority opinion is often wrong and must be corrected. History is full of examples.
Anonymous letters will be ignored.
Rather than simply sending in scientific evidence for evolution, some have wasted lots of their time and mine sending letters demanding to know who is on the committee, what bank account the money is in, asking Bill Clinton type questions about the definition of words like is, etc. When I do not respond the way they want me to they post notices on their web sites claiming that I owe them the money or that the offer is a sham! It is obvious they are using the Red Herring tactic to draw attention away from the fact that they have no evidence to support the religion of evolution. I tell everyone who inquires, if you have some evidence, send it in, dont beat around the bush. Give us the best you have on the first try please to save time.
Many have offered evidence of microevolution and assumed that the other 5 meanings of the word are somehow magically connected. They dont seem to realize that they are blinded to the obvious. Treat the $250,000 offer as a lawyer would treat a who-done-it case. It is your job to prove that what is being taught to our kids as fact (all six meanings of the word evolution above), is indeed a fact. If this cannot be done then it should be admitted that evolution is a religion but not a science. Some say it is unfair to define evolution including the origin of the universe. They say it only has to do with change in gene frequency over time. All you need to do is read your local textbook and see that all 6 meanings of the word are part of what is taught as evolution theory. If these nay Sayers are agreeing that it should not be included then they should help me get it out of the books, if they are genuine.
Over the years I have heard many evolutionists say, Evolution is a theory like gravity is a theory. Dont you believe in gravity? They repeat this mantra as if repetition will make it true. Their example is silly of course. We can all observe gravity every moment of our lives. We can do tests and experiments to verify the theory of gravity. No one has ever seen an exception to it. By the same token, no one has ever observed evolution nor been able to demonstrate any evolution beyond minor variations within the kind. To try to make evolution science by associating it with theories like gravity is ridiculous.
Nearly all responses to my $250,000 offer go something like this: Of course no one can prove evolution, can you prove creation? This response is what I expected and wanted. Neither theory of origins can be proven. Both involve a great deal of faith in the unseen. So my next logical question is: Why do I have to pay for the evolution religion to be taught to all the students in the tax supported school system? Since all taxpayers are being forced to pay for evolution to be taught exclusively in public schools and evolutionists have had the last 130 years and billions of dollars in research grants to prove their religion, the burden of proof is on them to supply proof of their theory.
I do not have time or interest in getting involved in long e-mail debates, but I will talk to anyone by phone or debate with any qualified scientist (even a panel of evolutionists) in a public forum at a university, on radio or TV, as long as there is equal time for each position not each person. If you call, please have a list of topics to discuss or questions to ask and feel free to record the conversation if you like. Just inform me that you are recording please. I hope this response is satisfactory.
I have taught for years that evolution is nothing but a religion mixed in with real science. Many have been duped into believing in it. There is no evidence that any plant or animal ever can or did change to any other kind or creature. It is time that intelligent people the world over began to admit that the king has no clothes! There is no evidence for changes between kinds of animals. The Bible teaches that God made them to bring forth after their kind. This is all that has ever been observed. The same Bible teaches that everyone will face the Creator one day to be judged for everything they have said, done or thought. I recommend that everyone prepare for that day by taking advantage of Gods mercy and forgiveness afforded through the free salvation offered to any who will confess their sin and receive Jesus Christ as their Lord. If you are interested in learning more about becoming a Christian, please call me. I travel a lot but always take time for calls when I am in the office. I am most often in Wednesday through Friday at 850-479-3466. Check my itinerary on my web site for my location if you need to talk with me while I am out speaking. If possible, attend a seminar. Seminars are free and we always have a question answer time for those who attend.
Sincerely,
Kent Hovind
Lot's of great posts over the last 24 hours. Thanks for the great reading.
I think what thsi election does is confirm what faith preachers have been preaching all along. Our culture has left the faith of our fathers and have come to believe something else. That something else, even if it is dressed in the clothes of Christianity, is not genuine saving faith and true Christianity.
May the Lord use the next 4 or 8 years to wake up His people and enlarge their portion.
Later.

Hey Cougar, I just gave the 10Q a once over. While there's not a wealth of good news...there really isn't much bad news either.
I think the disclaimer toward the end of management discussion says it about as good as anything.
"If we are unable to obtain the financing we need, we could lose drilling rights, our business plan could fail and our stockholders could lose their investment. There can be no assurance that we will be successful in raising the capital we require, or that if the capital is offered, it will be subject to terms we consider acceptable. Investors should be aware that even in the event we are able to raise the funds we require, there can be no assurance that we will succeed in our drilling or production plans and we may never be profitable."
I'm guessing statements like this are probably common for exploratory gas and oil companies.
I would say the most encouraging part is that our largest shareholder, "Holloman Corporation" and officeres are the ones who have invested in and loaned money to HENC. While I suppose their could be alterior motives, the most basic reason for doing this would be the expectation to make money by enabling HENC to carry out their business plan.
Is there risk? Absolutely. But at this point, I don't tink the risk is going out of business. Shucks, they have $2.2 Million in cash on hand. The greatest risk is that the might not hit oil. That's real...but when you figure the people, the property, the probability....I think there are quite a few reasons to be hopeful.
So far as heard...not independently confirmed....HENC has permits for two primary pieces of land. One on share (the basin) and the other and offshore concession. I've been told that oil has been hit within 10 kilometers of both of these. I guess we won't know if they underly our properties.... but chances seem pretty good to think so.
Let's go HENC.

Here's the biggest problem that I see....
A purposeless, mindless evolution, should yeild a purposeless mindless world.
However, the contrary is every where around and within you. If you want to believe it all just happened. Have at it.
I believe the evidence is obviously clear. The problem is, You can't see it. :)
Why is that? I know. II Corinthians 4 is the answer. The god (small "g" as in Satan) has blinded the eyes of unbelievers. Check it out.

Hey Guys (gals):
I think the election results show us pretty clearly where the average person in america is at. I ran across this article a few days ago....I think it provides some pretty serious food for thought.
I don't know how 2008 will compare but I'm guessing it will pretty well bear out similar results.

For full article check out this link: http://www.ignatius-piazza-front-sight.com/2008/11/03/the-life-cycle-of-nation/
LIFE CYCLE OF NATIONS‘The average age of the world’s greatest civilizations from the beginning of history, has been about 200 years.’
‘During those 200 years, those nations always progressed through the following sequence:
1. from bondage to spiritual faith;
2. from spiritual faith to great courage;
3. from courage to liberty;
4. from liberty to abundance;
5. from abundance to complacency;
6. from complacency to apathy;
7. from apathy to dependence;
8. from dependence back into bondage.
So WHERE are we, citizens of the United States in the historically proven Life Cycle of Nations?
Professor Joseph Olson of Hamline University School of Law, St. Paul, Minnesota, points out some interesting facts concerning the 2000 Presidential election:
Number of States won by Democrats: 19, Republicans: 29
Square miles of land won by Democrats: 580,000, Republicans: 2,427,000
Population of counties won by Democrats: 127 million, Republicans: 143 million
Murder rate per 100,000 residents in counties won by Democrats: 13.2, Republicans: 2.1
Professor Olson adds: ‘In aggregate, the map of the territory Republicans won was mostly the land owned by the taxpaying citizens of this great country.
Democrat territory mostly encompassed those citizens living in government-owned tenements and living off various forms of government welfare…’
I'll take Carolina this week. Thx.
Yeah... I'm thinking it might not be too long.
My understanding is that they have property both on shore and off...in the proximity of some pretty recent and substantial discoveries.
I'm thinking we should hear something next week. The volume of shares at these low levels has not been too substantial. I think it's mostly just impatience.
Would sure be nice to get some news eyes on this this. What do we have 14-15 boardmarks. As or maybe I should say if the company performs we should get some additional coverage.
Regards,
Randy
Hey Guys....
I don't know if you guys were watching....but about 10 minutes before the close NITE lowered their ask to 13 cents. I had a couple hundred bucks cash available and bought some of them.
I have some family in this one at a significantly higher price....
However, when insiders and management are putting in a million bucks at a quarter....I can't imagine buyings shares at these levels is very risky.
What we need is some news.... or more specifically, some good news that will pique the interest of some new and bigger money. As the risk level reduces there should be some willing to come to the table.
Randy
Hey Stocks4. Put me down for Jacksonville. thanks.
I agree.....I think the problem for most in the market is locating the liquidity to make the buy and hold investments.
Also, for what's it worth... Bill Mathews of the Cheap Investor thinks the lower energy prices and Fed cash injections are seeds that coujld grow into a future bull-market recovery.
We shall see.

Oh yeah...GHII earned 9 cents a share in fiscal 2008. They closed at 10 cents. Unbelievable.

Hey Bell, I glanced over the list and thought you should take note that PRTL has an added income in the June '08 quarter that skews the PE:
Total Other Income/Expenses Net $42,303,000 Such unexplained income is probably from the sale of property or closure or sale of some subsidiary.
Also, you might want to add GHII to your list. According to their last 10K they earned 9 cents a share fully diluted....and are selling at 11 cents a share.
Amazing. Another example of a Chinese company not realizing their value in the market.
Also, TPI looked especially tasty as they've just announced a $3 Million dollar share buy back this morning. There are only 2.5 Million shares in the public float.
Later.
I think this week represents the highest percentage of right picks that I can recall. Where's our statistical guy to prove my point??
Randy
Thanks Eats....
I've heard the Acorn organization mentioned a number of times...but wasn't clear just what it was.
I'm pretty clear about it now. Thanks.

Hi Masontrend....I've followed Guilin a while back. It almost seems like they have delisted or something....notmuchinformation available.
Do you them coming back tolife?
Randy
Well Bre...I personally think you might on to something. It was Jesus who said, "It is better to give than to receive."
Although, my first sentence was tongue in cheek, I think the second one is one we can sink our teeth into. I believe these words should epitomize the way we live.
When we focus on me me me....we're not happy and never will be. When we focus on being an encouragement to others or doing some acts of kindness for someone else, we actually benefit...but more of a side-effect or indirect consequence.
Have a great remainder of the weekend and I hope everyone reading this board will make the effort to hear some gospel preaching tomorrow. We were not made to just work, eat, relax and sleep. Our ultimate purpose is glorify God and enjoy him forever. That isn't just a future thing; it's our purpose now.
"Man shall not live by bread along, but by every words that proceeds from the mouth of God."
Too many people think they can do just fine without reading, hearing, or obeying the words of God. Not a good plan. If you think about it...when we act in that way we are in affect calling Christ a liar. Really not a good plan.
Good Night!

I think Melissa is committed to DRGP for the long haul. Whether she is the only one on the board of directors or not I do not know. I had thought there were others....though I couldn't name them and don't have time to research the matter right now.
When she and Emus came to DRG they were working together...but apparently with Emus' departure they have now parted ways. As IACPA brought up in a previous post, it will be interesting to find out whether Emus is still holding his shares or not.
I still believe that Melissa is pouring her heart and soul into DRGP. Although no one is happy with the price per share (except those trying to build a position at these levels) and the losses we incurred in the last quarter, I don't believe her staying or going is in question. I've not spoken with her for several months....but one of the last times I did, she made it clear she wasn't just trying to make some bucks and then move on.
I asked her about her exit strategy...in particular if she would be interested at some point letting DRG be acquired. Her answer was encouraging to me. She said something to the affect that she wouldn't want another company benefiting from our hard work. While some might question her ability, she is convinced that she is building a mega company....with hundreds of millions in revenue and a market cap of a lot more than that.
Will she succeed? That is of course is the million dollar question. Look back over the my pro/con post. I think these accurately wrestle with the issues at hand.
At some point it will be obvious whether or not DRG will succeed. How will we know? When will we know? These are the right questions. I expect when it becomes obvious one way or the other the stock price will trade accordingly.
I would go one step further. I would say at this point a number of shareholders are voting that the company will not succeed...hence our penny and sub-penny share price. Will this tide turn? I think so...but by then there will be lots more buying coming in than we've been seeing lately.

Randy

Thoughtful post Brent.
I remember reading lowman's Money 101 IBOX and thinking...this should be required reading for all newbies.
I think confidence and consistency are the best way to go....and a 10 bagger every now and then.
A VC guy told me one times that when your investing in startups and young companies, you mostly just need to be right one in 10 times. I'm not sure that's often enough but when a person is talking about multiplying ones investment, it makes sense.

Yeah...these are pretty turbulent times. Scary....but for the stout hearted and those with liquidity filled with opportunity.
Best of luck. I do have a friend that sounds like he's fairly close to management and he keeps talking positive.
We'll see. Maybe they'll announce that their drilling program is underway.... and they've hit the mother load and we jump to multiple dollars. A bit optimistic perhaps....but it could happen.

Are any of you guys familiar with Hal Turner's explanation of the Amero replacing the US dollars?
I'm not generally to much of a conspiracy theorist....but I'm also fairly skeptical about the media and the US Government.
