Actually, unless I am reading it wrong, you are still in it until about 4:45 p.m. tomorrow.

What's the difference between unlimited guessing about how many articles of clothing Corinne will be wearing at her dinner party and guessing share price?
One has substance and one lacks it. Everyone can decide for themselves which is which. Or, it can be discussed: the novelty of such a concept notwithstanding.
What's good for the fox should be good for the gander, Austin and the rest of us who like to guess share price.
I think guessing about gander-ing was the whole point. But, you really should avoid criti-sizing Corinne and others for the discussion about less substance resulting from more substance. Isn't "less is more" the stock price battle cry from NVEI for the past few years? In any event, that speculation was about as substantive as NVEI speculation has ever been.
I'm proud of excel for not deleting those posts (although I privately bet that he would <g>). They were all good humored -- I would say tongue in cheek, but that might start another discussion.
The boyz buzzed without imposed limitations from the posting police.
Without limitation? Surely, you jest -- remove the limitations and see it really go down -- hill that is.
Give me a great big break!
Be careful what you ask for.
Austin is more on subject than the party Corinne proposes to throw.
Maybe if he would get on her subject.....uh, never mind.
Actually, if that conversation continues unchecked I may have to engage my spam filter.
Would that be a full body spam filter? I'm told that most of those are made of latex. True?
I planned to leave on Friday, but got tied up with something.
Who was she?
Ahhh, for the days of getting "tied up" and then still having energy left over for much of anything else.
No, it is not that way in regular poker, but Pai Gow is weird. I learned to play it many years ago on a two day business trip (it really was) to Vegas. Of course, the price for my lesson on that trip was substantial. I have dabbled at it since then without either winning or losing much. When I was at $100 to $150 a hand in Vegas, $50 a hand at Pai Gow really killed the average bet, so I usually did not plop down my player's card or did not play much at higher stakes.
I have often wondered what things might manipulate the odds -- one way or the other -- in Pai Gow.
Was in a friendly game last weekend in Galveston. 5 card draw (Jacks or better to open, trips to win) was the game. 4 Queens lost to a J high straight flush. The 4 queens drew three cards and got the third and fourth queens. The straight flush drew two inside cards (8 and 10) It would have been a jackpot hand in most casinos. It was the largest pot on the table that night. Glad I dropped early. The guy with 4 queens (a judge) actually took it quite well, but I doubt the lawyer that beat him will be able to count on many discretionary rulings for a while. There is sometimes a price to winning.
You can also go back in a thread after it has been cleared and reset the unread post count to any place in the thread by clicking on the mark as last read. This is helpful when linking to a post that happens to be the last post on the thread, when you have unread posts on that thread.
You are in luck -- IHub has a feature for you.
At the bottom of every post is a button for "Mark as Last Read." It accomplishes exactly what you want. One of most user friendly features on IHub, IMO.
Thanks. Thought the D was going to hurt me -- as it always has before.
I am leaving town this afternoon, so I will pre-wag for Friday with 1490 - if someone would be kind enough to enter it for me tonight. TIA.
You might be able to work out a deal here.

You think that this is the kind of "exposure" that NVEI needs?
Then again, maybe this could be the opening act for the movie. Who needs a buyer -- just market it "privately."
Edit: If the stock does not go Booooiiiiiinnngggg and if all else fizzles, this could sure raise attendance and stimulate discussion at the annual meeting. This could give a whole new flavor, er meaning, to "pump and dump" as well as "going short."

Do you work private parties? Will you by 5-1-04?
I hope you don't relate too closely to this one.
A local law enforcement officer stops a car for traveling faster than the posted speed limit. Since he's in a good mood that day he decides to give the poor fellow a break and write him out a warning instead of a ticket. He asks the man his name. "Fred," the man replies. "Fred what?" the officer asks. "Just Fred," the man responds. When the officer presses him for a last name, the man tells him that he used to have a last name but lost it. The officer thinks he has a nut case on his hands, but plays along with it. "Tell me Fred, how did
you lose your last name?" The man replies, "It's a long story, so stay with me.
I was born Fred Dingaling. I know, funny last name. The kids used to tease me all the time, so I stayed to myself. I studied hard and got good grades. When I got older I realized that I wanted to be a doctor. I went through college, medical school, internship, residency, finally got my degree, so was Fred Dingaling, MD. After a while I got bored being a physician, so I decided to go back to school. Dentistry was now my dream. Got all the way through school, got my degree, so I was now Fred Dingaling, MD, DDS. Got bored doing dentistry,so I started fooling around with my assistant. She gave me VD. So I was Fred Dingaling, MD, DDS with VD. Well, the ADA found out about the VD, so they took away my DDS, so I was Fred Dingaling MD with VD. Then the AMA found out about
the ADA taking away my DDS because of the VD, so they took away my MD, leaving me as Fred Dingaling with VD. Then the VD took away my dingaling,so now I'm just Fred."
The officer walked away in tears laughing.
Not exactly an OT reply, but I thought this was pretty funny -- especially given that mother's day is this weekend.
To Be Six Again,
A man walks into the closet to speak to his wife while she is
rummaging through her clothes and asks her what she'd like for her birthday. I'd love to be six again," she replied.
On the morning of her birthday, he got her up bright and early and off they went to a local theme park. What a day! He put her on every ride in the park: the Death Slide, the Screaming
Loop, the Wall of Fear, everything there was!
Wow! Five hours later she staggered out of the theme park, her head reeling and her stomach upside down. Right to a McDonald's they went, where her husband ordered her a Big
Mac along with extra fries and a refreshing chocolate shake.!
Then it was off to a movie -- the latest epic, and hot dogs,
popcorn, Pepsi Cola and M&Ms.
What a fabulous adventure! Finally she wobbled home with her husband and collapsed into bed.
He leaned over and lovingly asked, "Well, dear, what was it like being six again?"
One eye opened. "You idiot, I meant my dress size."
The moral of this story: Even when a man is listening, he's still gonna get it wrong.
My edited moral of the story: no matter how hard we try, it is never enough. All a matter of perspective.
I don't doubt that it would be pretty easy to create an option to let folks do that (said the guy who did not have to do the coding). I was just poking a little fun.
Check this out. It may give you better relief than my attempt at humor. Frankly, I've always thought that the east coast was an hour behind everything anyway -- not an hour ahead -- but that is just my centrist view.

The nation's oldest person, a 113-year-old woman who witnessed the aftermath of the great San Francisco earthquake, enjoyed junk food and lived alone until she turned 102, has died.
That's the problem with social security. All of the darn old people getting paid. Figure it out -- she was eligible for 48 years!
The Pied Piper of Hamlin?
Actually, that would, more correctly, be the Pied Piper of Hamelin.
But, in any event, I am not so sure that the Pied Piper story really was about kidnapping kids so much as such kidnapping happened to be going on around the same time.
See http://genedeitch.awn.com/index.php3?ltype=chapter&chapter=26
For a more humorous look at modern Pied Pipers, see:

Now there's an idea. Ad-hoc Tuesday's -- visit the XXX board between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. for on the first Tuesday of every month for real time ad-hoc suggestion implementation or rejection. But, I guess that this idea will also have to wait for the next ad-hoc day.
And damn proud of it. Just trying to help those in need in their time of need to help fulfil my, er their, needs. I'd rather be chasing than be in or in front of them -- all a matter of perspective, don't ya know.
On the other hand, are you sure you are not confusing the sounds you hear with the Pied Piper? Wasn't he the rodent guy of yesteryear?
It could be just like wrestling.....scripted in advance to maximize the thrill -- and the income! Otherwise, and it is hard for me to be humble like this, I suspect that my flame would be little more than a flicker compared to the shower meister. Then again, I don't swipe, er borrow, my material from other web sites.
Thanks for splain'n. I (and I suspect everyone else) would much rather have it working well the way it is that mucked up for the sake of a small convenience item.
If your alias is in the following list, you're one of the free members who needs to reduce your filter-count to 5.
cannabis
He is having trouble remembering that he is counting to five when he reaches three. When he gets to four he starts talking about the Beatles instead of finishing the count. He gets very easily distracted and thinks that the 5 you are talking about must have something to do with a great Chicago album. He is really wowed by this concept of filtering bands.
Is there any way to display message post times in your own time zone?
Move to the east coast?
I can't see any setting that would change that.
That would be a residence setting - well outside IHub's control.
What the hades happened to this place? Only two posts in the last four days. This place really is going to hell in a hand basket. Matt -- get busy. Quit writing new TOU and get back to your real job -- serious enforcement of them. What good are they if you're not spanking someone? We are truly in need of phresh phish -- or even old phstinky phsmelly phish.
Edit -- don't you think it is time to add "phresh" and "phish" to the speel chunker?
And the docs all say it is better to just let you keep thinking that.....
Wow, I wish "not quite yet" always meant just a couple days. <g>
On a slightly different note, and this is more a convenience thing than a bug, when replying to PMs, the submit/arc and submit/keep options are very nice. Unfortunately, these same options are not available in the preview mode. Thus, when previewing a message, it is necessary to return to the edit window to submit/arc (submit/keep) is the default. You could save some processing time and a new page load for those using the preview mode, by having the submit/arc option also appear on the preview page.
TIA.
Speaking of stirring up [hairy] sympathy.....
Looks to be solved and working well. Thanks.
Terms of Endearment ought to be on my list somewhere. It was the first movie I took my wife to when we were dating: the second date. Had I known what it was about we would have never gone. Why you ask? My wife's mother had died three years before of breast cancer. It was an awkward evening.
Another bug??
Try this link:
http://www.investorshub.com/boards/read_msgs.asp?board_id=37&NextStart=2376&BatchSize=20
It displays posts 2376 to and through 2396. Post 2396 shows that it is 2396 of 2396. Even though 2396 is the last post, the "Next 20" link is active, in the sense that it will attempt to load a page. It does not load a page, however. Instead, one just gets a "cannot load this page" error message.
When pulling up post 2396 as an individual post (rather than in bitch view), the "Next" button is not hot.
A fun movie, whose name I am forgetting, was the one with John Denver and George Burns as God. The courtroom scene and the clergy scene are classic. The web is amazing: Oh, God!
I also agree with many of your favorites -- but I cannot stand Victor/Victoria. Of course, that is probably a good reason for others to see it first.
Must be some pretty big fish to not get out of a four inch pipe.
On an entirely different subject -- found this bug.
Began at this board:
http://www.investorshub.com/boards/board.asp?board_id=1466
Entered "1" in the "Go to Post #" box, and get this url,
http://www.investorshub.com/boards/board.asp?board_id=1466&EndOfBoard=true
Of course, this does not take me to post # 1, but instead just reloads the end of the thread.
Entered "11" in the "Go to Post #" box, this url,
http://www.investorshub.com/boards/board.asp?board_id=1466&PrevStart=11
And it takes me to a list beginning with post 10, not post 11.
Tried to start at post 15, and also only got to 14.
It is generating the correct url, but is displaying one post before the one sought.
I get the same result in the top and bottom "Go to Post #" boxes. I also get the same results on multiple threads -- so it is not thread specific.
Anybody have any all-time favorite movies?
Dr. Strangelove
a/k/a Riding a Nuke was Meant to be Fun
Fiddler on the Roof
(love the music mostly)
One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest
http://www.filmsite.org/onef.html
Rain Man
Top Gun
(only because my wife has watched it so many times that I know many of the lines by heart -- it really pisses he off when I point out that the entry angles in the final scene are inconsistent with the view preceding it).
That ought to just about cover most of the last 40 years -- although I am sure I am missing a few good ones.
Been bad here too. No meaningful rain since sometime in March. All this humidity and nothing to release it. Unfortunately, when it does rain, it will likely do so for days and result in floods -- something we do not need and have had plenty of the past couple years.
How can she be in your harem? There is no way she frequents the KKD counter.
On the other hand, he has apparently booted her from his harem, so you may be in luck.
She noticed and was upset at the ring on his finger -- he apparently found himself a new squeeze. He then told her that she had been missing for two years. This would have been a better ending had they "consummated" the vacation before the final scene. Nice story line but not as compelling as it could have been.
FWIW, the TOU changes and realignment all seem to be good ideas.
I especially like them since it is likely to slow posting down just enough and just long enough for me to seal the 1 million wag. I was starting to get worried. Thanks for the wagassist.
It was an ending that will make everyone wonder what is coming next season and will let them write pretty much whatever they want for next season.
I figured that we would get some controversial sex scene. Not to be for now, however.
