Are you the little one in the middle? You look like a punk. :-l
jjz- You're not missing anything really. Artisan needs to pick up the pace on hyping the movie if they hope to make any money. I realize DVD sales will make up a large percentage of overall revenues and I can just about assure you that DVD sales calculations are based on movie revenues. The less the movie makes, the less we can expect the DVD's to bring in. That's what my common sense tells me anyway and I reserve the right to be wrong as this is pure speculation. Bottom line...they better start hyping big time to get the theatre count and daily screen average up a lot higher if they want to benefit from good overseas deals. The movie petering out at 70 theatres and 3 million dollars will most certainly not command a huge upfront money deal for the overseas market. If this peters out this early then I say go with selling DVD's for Christmas like Excel has suggested because we need money NOW.
Wheels -- NO if fpga is not complete by then...............................YES if it is
Just giving them the benefit of the doubt.................................................again.
Maybe Brad is delaying the name change to coincide with an event??? We don't want RIM to be associated with delays. We'll see...
deeba- I just can't get over the photography. On top of that, some of the surfing was absolutely UNREAL. I especially liked the guy named Taj (sp??). He's the one the judges haven't given a world title to because his style is so different that they don't know how to score his performances.
I'll definitely get this one as soon as it comes out on DVD.
Behind the ticket counter was an SIL poster autographed by Dana Brown. I asked the guy what they were going to do with it and he said the theatre owner would likely keep it. I think I'll go Monday and ask for a job application. Have a good one.
I saw SIL tonight. The photography was second to none. The theatre was packed and people gasped and awed throughout the movie. In my mind, there is no doubt it will win awards for the camera work. Hats off to Dana Brown and John Paul. You gentlemen have reserved yourselves a spot at the top for camera work alone.
What makes it even more amazing is they did it on a shoestring budget. I'm not a surfer but I left the theatre with an appreciation for the sport. My wife and our friends did as well (my buddy surfs Galveston, lol).
Ray--GOOD JOB.
Man oh man. They can't even change the frigin' name on time. Sheesh...LOLOLOL
Cobra- Would you mind directing me to that website? I've been trying to determine my handicap in golf for quite some time now. Didn't realize I could just look it up on the internet. Thanks in advance.
Ernie- Agree to disagree it is then. All I know is no matter what is being posted, the shareprice does its own thing. But when you really think about it, it's really not such a big matter. Let's get this tech funded and ready for market. Have a good one young man.
Groovemaster- I have met a good many of the people that post here. The ones I haven't met I have either spoken with on the phone on numerous occasions, or someone I know and trust knows them.
My point is...you haven't been in this stock for very long. You haven't met anyone so you may not be looking at things from their proper perspective. Nothing personal, you just haven't had the opportunity to meet or get to know the good people here.
I think you'd be hard pressed to point at one particular person and say that are engaging in these types of activities.
BTW, you can wipe Austin right off your list. I happen to know a very good friend of his (Mag300). Mag300 is, without a doubt, a standup guy and he has vouched for Austin.
Groove- I refuse to believe there is a vast conspiracy steering the discussions here for personal agenda reasons. People are simply having conversations.
Wasn't it you that said if something was bothering you to the point that it affected your attitude you'd remove that something from your life? Don't let this board bother you. It doesn't affect the shareprice one single bit.
Have a good one.
PS- Are you steering this conversation about negative posts for personal agenda reasons? :)
TFN- As per the President's Letter, it will go into effect Sept. 15.
Why thanks peebus. Good to see you coming back around.
LOL Jar. I haven't smoked or drank a thing!! LOL I guess it could look that way though.
It was what management said that helped calm me down.
I would like to make a public apology to Trexville. I would do this privately but the attacks were done in this forum for everyone to see.
I really had the belief that we were being given another snow job just as in times past. With you being so close to the company, I chose to direct part of my frustrations towards you. You have a different way of handling things than I do, Carl. You could easily have attacked me personally in return but chose the high road instead. Believe it or not, I did learn something from that. That is...I need to learn to attack the message, not the messenger. Also, if I find that I'm not going to be able to control my tongue, I should at least take it up with you personally (Porscha has harped on me about this for months now).
Thank you for the lessons. I will most certainly learn from your example and will strive to do better in the future.
I don't like crow, but will partake of it whenever I feel that it is necessary. I am ashamed of my actions and apologize to you and would ask that you accept this apology even though I may not be deserving.
Best to you,
Michael Wolf
iceram- Good to hear from you! Thanks for the kind words.
For awhile now, the concerns I've had with the company originated with their inability to get funding. With the news blackout, we were left to use our imaginations with history as the only guide.
I am very tired (worked in the yard all day) and I do not feel like getting into what specifically has helped me calm down. I would like to say though that as I have mentioned before, I believe Ray Willenberg to be honest generally speaking. He has, however, been overly optomistic in the past and that has cost me money personally, as well as cost others. I KNOW there have been efforts made to conceal the whole truth in the past to keep people from selling.
With the information given in todays meeting, we now have a much clearer picture of what we're up against. We still risk failure if we are not able to receive adequate funding. However, I now know the risks involved and will be happy to stick it out with the shares I have. I will also buy more stock as funds allow as long as I believe the company is on track.
My only regret is that there are people who have been hurt financially by the deceptions.
On a more positive note; it is admirable that Rich took a 50% pay cut. In fact, I look at him differently now.
As for Ray's 30% cut, I find that to be admirable as well. I wasn't aware that he took the cut several months ago. That's the kind of stuff we need to know. Every time I talk to Ray on the phone I go away knowing that I like the son of a gun. Maybe I need to call more often.
Brad really seems to be a level headed guy and I will once again give him the benefit of the doubt. After looking at the plan, it seems that we have the right guy heading up the company. You just can't help but like these guys.
Have a good one.
Well Ernie, it's not my intention at all to make this board unreadable for you. I suppose you're right about my anger showing through in my posts. I suspect the reason for that is because I truly feel that I've been swindled out of some money with past deceptions. I think the only difference between you and me is that I have realized it a bit earlier. Also, you may be a tad bit older and have had a little more time to learn how to be diplomatic once you realize you've been had.
Don't get me wrong. I don't think Ray or anyone else blatantly lied. I just think he has been WAY too optomistic in the past and has failed us when it comes to telling us what's REALLY going on behind the scenes. I call it deception. The main reason for me posting these things regularly is because of the other posts/responses I read. What about some peoples continual "trust the company" posts?
Trex- Save it for potential 144 buyers. Also, my credibility is in the eyes of the beholder and I suspect that as things are uncovered, it will go nowhere but up. BTW, I would LOVE to be able to eat my words re: you and the company SOOOOOOON. Have a nice day.
You bet jiz...keep us posted. Your opinions are valued here. Have a good trip.
That just depends on what things you're talking about.
Hint: Anywhere the term "gut feeling" or "I believe" was used was speculation.
jiz- I totally respect your opinion. You seem like a bright guy. However, I'd like to point out that he has been busted (without a doubt) with at least 3 different pump aliases on RB with at least 8-10 more suspected. He is a nice enough guy, he just likes those aliases.
BTW Trex, some people have lost respect for you because you just don't have the gonads to confront people with your real alias. There's something slimy about all of that.
Go ahead and bring on your "I'm above that" type response. You have the other aliases to use for the attack. Maybe some of your followers would like to respond as well? Toodleloo.
Ernie- I simply do not believe our posts have ANY effect on the shareprice. I believe the debate we have had over the past few months, but more particularly the past month, has been healthy.
The company has done more harm to the shareprice than a million negative posts could ever do. They are secretive to the point that it is ridiculous. Things have taken place that I do not care to mention at this time. These things are SHADY. These are not things I'm guessing at Ernie. They are things that have most definitely taken place that company officers have done.
I would go through cycles of anger at the company over these past few years when I thought they were being less than honest. However, there were several people/posters that I would let talk me into blowing off the obvious and take managements word for what was happening (my fault).
I now have that gut feeling again that management is not being totally honest with us (hence the anger). I believe they are having trouble converting the software into hardware form. This is the reason they cannot secure financing.
I also believe they are pretty well aware that we will not receive financing from Mercatus but plan to use the other 400 million shares to try and pull this off.
I also believe Cooper left because he saw right away that it was a total longshot.
In summary, I do not think New Visual will pull this off. If they do pull something out of their hat, it will not be anything nearly as groundbreaking as we had hoped.
I have already sold every free trading share I owned but am here because I still have a few restricted shares remaining. I've ticked a good many people off here but I refuse to lay down just so the isn't affected. The company is the one to blame for the shareprice. Also, we each have our own way of dealing with things. I prefer to be more vocal than some. That has cost me respect but so be it. I'm also not out a bunch of money here like some. Skepticism has paid off thus far. Is money most important? No way; but I do expect to be fully informed about what is going on so that I can decide whether or not to sell. Management needs to be accountable for their actions and I'm just the type that will make sure that happens if it becomes necessary.
How much do you want to bet that they ask for a little more patience at the SHM? We'll see tomorrow.
sauce- So what you're saying is that we should cover up the truth so that people will buy into this stock regardless of past performance? And all of this so that the stock price will go up??? Sorry pal, but some of us would rather lose it all rather than participate in dishonesty.
You said...
"That's plain dumb. You don't just burn your own investment."
In response to your post...
That's plain dumb. You don't just burn your fellow man.
I guess to some, honesty just isn't as important as money.
CJ- The time for a little Texas Justice is now baby doll. You're running a little behind. :)
fam- The people with enough money to invest in this stock to really make a difference in the shareprice will not likely look to message boards for due diligence. Millionaires...
institutions...investment bankers...repeat after me... millionaires...institutions...investment bankers...
millionaires...institutions...investment bankers...
That's what we need.
None of these people will look on the raging bull or the investors hub for advice.
Also, the time for giving Brad the benefit of the doubt is gone. He's screwed the pooch long enough (no pun intended).
THAT was pretty good. EOM
Actually spoke, if you'll look in the denominator, you'll notice that the second sign is a - sign which makes the positive sign in question correct.
I was just acused in a private message that it is thought that I was involved with the KDMV scam and that due to the nature of my postings here coupled with that, this person believes I am losing my moral backbone. Let me just say that is the farthest thing from the truth. I will admit that I sometimes come off as being an attack dog; and I will also admit that my language is not always fitting for someone that holds the Priesthood, I can honestly say that I have not ever participated in anything that can be remotely associated with things that are immoral. I strive to be honest in all of my dealings with my fellow man. I suppose that I have let this negative situation drag me down to some degree and that is sometimes reflected in my attitudes and posts. Let me say one more time though that I have not, for at least the past 5.5 years, done ANYTHING immoral. That includes, but is not limited to; scams, drugs, drinking, pornography, lying, cheating, stealing, physical violence, philandering, immodesty, lewdness, infidelity, backbiting, murder. I wish I could include cussing but I'm working on it.
I just wanted to clear the air just in case someone is trying to undermine my credibility so that my posts aren't taken as seriously. I saw it happen on RB.
fam- I didn't mean any harm to anyone on a personal level with my post. You make a very good point indeed. The only thing I can say in return is at least in your story the farmer gives you the chance to view the field. The farmer I'm involved with planted his crop many years ago and has failed thus far to give even the slightest status report. He did bring in some expert farmers to help him out but they require that he give them very large parts of the other crop for their services. In fact, he and several others are taking HUGE chunks out of the other crop every single day but refuse to tell his fellow owners how things are going. TRUST me is the philosophy these farmers employ on a regular basis. Well, as of now my new philosophy matches that of the state of Missouri...SHOW ME.
Until then, I am going to have to assume there is no crop. Walking away in NOT an option. These sons of bucks will pay for the deception if that does indeed turn out to be the case. I sincerely hope I will be eating my words. I would much rather be wrong here. Have a good one.
This new fangled positive thinking stuff is for the birds. Some of you people could get mugged on the street, beaten, strangled, and spit upon and you would have a smile on your face and have something good to say about it. As for me and my household, we call a spade a spade. The company is obviously delaying something. They can't get funding; they can't get the FPGA completed; they make WAAAAY too much money; they are involved with Isaac Winehouse and others of his ilk; they put a price of 6 centavos on shares they plan to use as collateral on a loan that should have closed 6 months ago; did I mention that they make WAAAAAY too much money??...I could go on and on. The bottom line is I can tell when something is wrong. Folks, something is definitely wrong here. Oh well, that's what we get for investing in a stock listed on the turkey market. I should have listened to my friends. You learn something new everyday.
Let's see here...
As a result, data can be sent at greater speeds over longer distances than it could be otherwise.
What kind of a tech update is that? They're presenting a paper? They had better come up with a WHOLE lot more than that. Also, whatever happened to them wanting to keep competitors in the dark?
Folks, I hate to say this, but I do believe we have ZERO. Have a good one.
PS- OK, maybe not ZERO; we do have the movie. WHAT A JOKE.
Yeah, me either (as hard as that may be to believe). Later.
That looks just like Trexville with a beard. Why don't you post that on the NV board. LOL
pengy- I strongly agree. I've always thought (since it was first mentioned by someone else) that they cannot disclose the details about the movie deal or it would most definitely affect international negotiations.
spoke- Great guess. Have a nice day.
If the movie does go to as many as 500 theatres and my assumptions are correct, that would bring NV's gross up to $14,937,500 which could be more than enough based on your calculations previously.
A little speculation...
It looks like the movie will be shown in over 100 theatres as of now. That's not bad considering we're less than a week into the official release. Let's do a little calculation based on some assumptions.
The average per theatre income was $27K the first weekend. Let's say that figure drops significantly to an average of $9k for 30 days.
Let's also assume (conservatively in my opinion) that SIL will be shown in 200 theatres.
Now here's where the BIG assumptions come in...
Let's assume the box office take is 50% and that Artisan gets 65% of the remaining 50%...
That means NV would get 35% of 50% to be split in half with Mr. Brown after we recover our initial 2.5 million. Here's how it works out:
9000 x 30 x 200 x .5 x .35= $9,450,000
9,450,000 - 2,500,000 (NV's off the top) = 6,950,000/2 = $3,475,000 + $2,500,000 = $5,975,000 Gross profit to New Visual possibly by the end of November. Let's hope they structured the deal in a way that would ensure the money gets to the coffers most expediently.
