I'm thinking AMRN is looking strong today. We might just break through $22 and stay there.
You know James Murphy hit the nail on the head. Why fret over a script price? Vascepa could be a lot more expensive you know? Particularly when you compare it against PCSK9 meds or Regeneron, which isn't nearly as effective as Vascepa.
Heck, now I can afford to go Vegan....... well maybe not quite yet..... :D)
My daughter started college this fall, she's into this health kick, no fast food, exercise, she's a waitress working at a Popular BBQ restaurant. Anyway, a family comes in and the daughter asks if there's any Vegan choices on the menu? Answer: No, unless you just want a salad or baked potato without sour cream and butter. Apparently, Vegan diets are at the extreme end of the spectrum. They won't eat anything animal related that is taken from an animal without their consent.....wtf?
I could go on about this, but bottom line is these kids are pretty well informed about where their food comes from and how it's processed. I think most of us even those who grew up on a farm would be aghast at how some products are produced and brought to market just to make the quick buck.
Nuff said,
Snuffy Smith
you pay $270 for 30 days supply? That's absurd......
I'm not even sure I can get V for $130 per month? I'll probably have to wrestle the pharmacist and win 2 out of 3 falls. She was a big lady too.....
None of my business, are you on Medicare Part D?
I have several times, no cigar. $650 for 90 days, I'm hosed.....
Express Scripts are Shysters.... they'll draw this out until their forced to comply.
Two years ago (2016) Express Scripts had two drug lists; We'll call them "Preventive" and "Maintenance" drug lists.
In 2015 Vascepa was on their "Preventive" drug list. Express Scripts didn't have an issue with covering most of the cost of Vascepa, I was able to buy Vascepa for about $120 for 90 days. of course I wasn't on ObamaCare then either, so my deductible was nil.
2016 comes around and Express Scripts moves Vascepa from "Preventive" to "Maintenance", plus my annual drug deductible went to $3000. Double whammy......
So, in essence it's all about consumer beware, reading the fine print, almost have to hire a lawyer to interpret Healthcare plans. Healthcare enrollments. So, I do have a choice, I can pay $600 for Primary Care Plan, no deductible or pay $120 for high deductible plan, $3000 for drugs, $6000 for major medical procedures. Seriously, don't know how some folks make it these days especially when it's against the law not to have medical coverage. Blah, blah......
Ha ha..... LOL, never liked paying full price for anything. Millionaire or no. I've known some very cheap (aka Frugal) millionaires. When they get a bee in their bonnet, there ain't no changing their minds. It's how they became millionaires. Besides, Insurance companies are the real culprit. They're always a win-win, nuff said.......
Although I wouldn't mind receiving donations. I could stand on the street corner playing my bagpipes with my trained monkey passing the hat.
Classic..... :D)
More on my issue with the VASCEPA $9 coupon;
I called Elisabeth Investor relations, why? Long story.....
Finally got in touch with a Donna @ 1-855-497-8462, Assuming the Change HealthCare Help Desk; Her resolution was If my insurer didn't pick up the cost then I would have to pay out of pocket using the Vascepa Coupon.
What this means; So, if I pay cash, Out of pocket for me for Vascepa would be $210 for 30 days supply. The Pharmacy then deducts up to the $80 (co-pay), which would lower my Script to $130 for 30 days. That's if they make the phone call to the Pharmacy Help Desk and the Change HealthCare accepts paying the $80 no guarantee it says up to $80, it could be $10 or????
Donna then said that if the Pharmacy had questions they could call the Change HealthCare Pharmacy Help Desk at 1-800-422-5604, apparently this is for Pharmacies only. Their hours of business are M-F 8:30 AM - 10:00 PM EST, Sat. 8:30 AM - 9:00 PM EST. and Sun. 10:00 AM - 8:00 PM EST
So, I get V for $130 per month, kind of wish I had some of you others insurance companies, seems like your benefits packages are much more consumer friendly.
Medicare "D" forget it..... got to pay full price up to your annual deductible.
I know.... pretty long winded.
Ok, thanks, nope not on Medicare part D, yet.
I'm not done trying yet, "I will endeavour to persevere" Chief Lone Watie, from Josey Wales movie....
No prob JL, I blew up at someone ( PSea) when I shouldn't have. They were only trying to give me advice, I took it wrong.
Keep up that putter.....
You should come celebrate with us in San Francisco, I'll even buy your dinner....
:D)

Too funny JL, stop stealing my lines....
JF is just an old Pipefitter, they don't get old, they just blow a gasket....
Should I try another CVS perhaps? Or go to Walgreens? Other pharmacies? Seems like they're in colusion with each other. They CVS did pull me up in their system and saw I had Express Scripts. This really sucks, can't pay out of pocket using the coupon. It does say $9 copay, then 1st $80 the pharmacy on coupon pays. Q: who picks up the rest? Amarin?
Ok, without being condescending, can someone explain to me how I go about getting a script for Vascepa filled using the coupon?
Background: yesterday my optometrist wrote me a script for Vascepa based on my complaint for dry eyes. After the doc read about Vascepa, he was convinced, more later. He wrote me a script for 90 days with 3 refills. He asked me where to send the script. I said my local CVS. Went to CVS presented the coupon, no dice, my cost for 30 days was $210. So, WTF do I need to do? At the pharmacy we started getting into the insurance discussion, I said, I'm paying out of pocket. Still no deal. Do I need to get a paper script and shop online? My primary care provider uses Express Scripts, they of course want to charge $640 for 90 days.
TIA,
Nuke
You have to admit, he's improving on his stance towards Amarin. Last time didn't he say, sell, sell,sell......?
Wonder what he'll say when we hit $50?
Thanks Ferret, I'll read it over. Better than Mr. Condescending know-it-all listing his 6. pts Know-it-all list.
Thanks,
Nuke
jfmcrr; I sent you an email to your SBCGLOBAL.net.plus my $100 deposit.
Things happen for a reason sometimes that are really hard to explain.
See you by the Bay, can't wait
Thanks,
Nuke
Hmmm, time to shirt can this Doc. He's also not big on Company sponsored drug trials? WTF is that? FDA wanted Reduce-It trial.
Get far away from this ego maniac.
Wow, nice to know, thanks for the update. But, 108k / 300k is a whopping 36% haircut. Why not just go with Tax free Municipals in your IRA if that's possible? Save on taxes, plus when you withdrawal from your IRA isn't it taxed less than 36% maybe more like 20%. I don't know the answer, maybe your CPA would?
Thanks again,
Nuke
Yeah whatever..... Why spend money on an expensive CPA or Account Manager when you can do it yourself, by educating yourself. Too many times we rely upon others to make our decisions for us, when all it takes is a little homework and communication. Also, It's called the IRS. Frankly, the IRS should be abolished, I know put a label on me..... Case in point; You work for 50 years, the gubmint takes out Income Tax, FICA, god knows what else. Then when you're old enough to start taking your Social Security you're taxed again on top of the FICA you never gained one red cent of interest on. This is total BS
Then the Gubmint puts a limit on the amount of money you can salt away that is tax free. Then on top of that the gubmint taxes your retirement accounts when you want to withdraw the money.
What about this scenario; You pay income taxes on your paycheck, the gubmint holds those taxes until tax deadline, either April 15th or October 15th. of the previous year. So, by the time I file my taxes, the gubmint has your tax dollars for 12 - 18 months, which the gubmint is making interest on. If you pay your taxes late like I do in October, the gubmint makes you pay interest on any taxes owed. So, for example I paid in $18k in income taxes in 2017, I didn't file until October 15th (call me lazy), the gubmint will bill me for additional taxes owed plus any interest from April 15th. This is BS.
No wonder folks move out of country and drop their US citizenship.
I wonder if someone has tried to take the IRS to court over interest owed on their income taxes? Probably go over like a Turd in a punchbowl if brought before Congress.
Security? Military spending? Now you know why rich people move to the Caimans or Costa Rica.
Mrfresh: You can only move $6500 into a Roth annually unless you have a joint account with your spouse. Funding is usually cash, I don't think you could transfer money from an IRA into a Roth unless you pay taxes on the Transfer? I don't remember, check with your broker.

What jm; no cheeseburgers or chicken fingers? January 8th huh? My daughter's birthday, maybe I'll surprise her with a weekend trip to SF. I'll let you know by the 19th.
Thanks for setting this up,
Nuke
Now, now Marzan....let's not be hasty and give trevor the benefit for now.
Trevor; tell your doctor he's full of it, tell me, does he carry an umbrella and make tinfoil hats? He's repeating the label information to you and you're lapping it up like a puppy with a bowl of milk. "be careful Trevor" JC.......
My own experience with V (experiment of one) was this, I was prescribed a statin Generic Lipitor, took it felt like crap, so I stopped taking it. Was able to get a off label script for V took it for several months. Before V: (pretty catchy BV) Total cholesterol was around 220, after a few months on V (AV) my Total TGs were around 113. V lowered my TGs substantially without using a statin. And there were no adverse effects. Actually, my woodies improved as well.....
Suggestion: Get a new doctor, if he asks why you're leaving tell him he's a quack. As a parting gift bring him a roll of tinfoil.
But.... Reduce-It never had a clinic in China during it's duration. Sorry, just playing the devils advocate. I can see China saying "come on down"..... but not very likely IMHO.
So, knowing the Chinese track record, they could care less about patent infringement. Essentially they could produce their own EPA and sell it themselves, Eddingham would be left out? Make the DS guys look like cub scouts.
Shouldn't even respond to your nonsense, but can't help myself. Are you sure your last name isn't Feurstein?
What a joker, let's see; On 9/24 Amarin announced 25% RRR for prevention of CVD. I guess one needs to get hit with a Mack truck to understand. PPS moved from 2.99 to 20.54 in approximately 10 trading days. Amarin disclosed about what 20% of V's potential on the 24th, hell let's pick a number shall we, it's only a message board, we can say just about anything, even if it is idiotic.
On November 10th, Amarin will present all the details we're all waiting for. Anyone with common sense knows that we have only witnessed the appetizer. The Medical community will witness history in the making. Too bad your not a betting man or I'd wager you that AMRN PPS should at least double if not triple post AHA. I mean everything hinges on Bhatts (10 minute) presentation, it will be the highlight of the day.
Doing okay considering the DOW is down 620 pts;

Only wish I had some dry powder, I'd be buying more AMRN.
Ok BB, I missed the sequels..... Do you suppose Amarin will be submitting a paper for this ADCOM?
Thanks, Nuke
As a matter of fact, I have two (2) 3 gallon Carboys of a mixed Blackberry wine just waiting to be bottled and consumed.
Don't mind if I do.....
Nice, thanks.... pictures are worth a thousand words. Hmmmm, now I can start eating more Lobster.....
Followed by Champagne of course..... :D)
BC: You didn't catch my humor? Besides, I think Golf balls should be a commodity don't you? They're expensive little dudes and people are buying lots and lots of them. Heck, we might even be having a golf ball shortage going on? Just poking fun at all the golfers on board. See if anyone was watching.
"Getting Real" go to #3, ALGAL Oil or oil produced from Algae;
https://www.healthline.com/nutrition/7-plant-sources-of-omega-3s#section3
Arizona State University "Go Sun Devils" has been studying and producing "Bio-Fuels" from Algae for several years. The sources are limitless, especially when you consider what it takes to produce Algae and lots of it.
What's needed is Sunshine (photosynthesis), CO2 and Algae of course..... Natural Gas Power Plants produce lots and lots of CO2, (Hence a Greenhouse Gas) that is exhausted usually to the atmosphere. ASU is devising methodologies to capture this CO2 from exhaust gases and use it to grow sustainable quantities of Algae in large Plexiglas tubes, sequestering the Carbon which is then derived "Algal Oil" or Omega 3 oil.
Pretty cool huh? Don't get your knickers in a bunch, there will be plenty of Omega 3 available when EPA becomes a commodity play. Like precious metals, Orange Juice, Golf Balls?
Take care,
Nuke
Conkers; Yes, if your doctor is aware of VASCEPA and if you show him the latest Press Release from Monday, 9/24.
My PCP specialized in Internal Medicine, whereas a lot of folks see a cardiologist who should be ultimately aware of VASCEPA. My PCP prescribed VASCEPA for me "Off label" as my TGs were in the 200 range.
Problem became paying for VASCEPA through my Provider. Stoneroad posted a link for the VASCEPA $9 co-pay Coupon earlier today. So, if you see your Doc ask for a script. If they refuse, go see your Eye Doctor and tell him you have very dry eyes (DES) called Dry Eye Syndrom.
This will be my tact when I see my eye doctor week after next.
Really fed up with Corporate Insurance plans who cave into their Insurance carriers like CIGNA, United Health (Express Scripts). What a sham.

Thanks Mar;
Another totally inept SA Author, where do they dig up these people?
4.1x Sales? $30 BO offer? Ridiculous. I don't put it past SA to do this kind of journalism. Goes to prove the Media is all about readership, not truth.
Apologize sts: Rose, brokerage can do the DRIP for you. Usually have to specify though, it's not always automatic.

Don't know STS; It boggles the mind.
I guess because Amarin isn't a household name yet. When it achieves a heftier valuation and maintains that.
Then maybe Etrade will relax it's requirements. Etrade only used APPLE as an example.
For New and old investors; Do not react to these price swings in AMRN. Hold unto your shares. This trading pattern has been typical particularly the past two weeks. Strong OPEN, then sell-off, strong close.
I don't have Level 2 but the trading pattern seems to be Large trades drive down the PPS, then accumulation occurs going into close.
The big houses are accumulating, don't be duped into thinking the AMRN is going back down to single digits again. Never happen.
Listen to JL, HD, others as they believe as should we all....

JL; Why not buy it at CircuitCity? :D), just kidding CC:
I used to shop CC quite a lot.
Hawk; Yes you can transfer shares without selling them.
So, you wanna trade options? Etrade requires 100% funding in your Cash account, so, Options require money upfront, unless you have say for example APPLE stock which you could trade against. Brokerages sound like they just need some collateral.

Tsunami wave reported @ Cantor Health Conference..... what just happened?
CC: The article was about "Networking", Thero was named Chairman of a AHA Fundraiser in 2017. Essentially getting his name and Amarin in front of the public eye.
Does that help?
Thanks TOSCA, my data was incorrect. Vascepa must have been a late addition?
