OT - Taglich Brothers starts coverage
Unfamilar with them. Is it a good thing if they write a research report (favorable)? Are they for real or part of a P&D campaign. Thanks for any info.
OT larrybaz housing
you said: I would, also, sell our current home and find a rental until the market came back to some semblance of normalcy.
I thought of doing that in the early 90's instead of buying a home in California. Could not see how the market could keep on going up. Bought the house anyway, it of course went down in value almost immediately. And then it took off. It is a hard game to play. Just like the stock market, except the commissions are much higher and you can't just hit a buy/sell button on the computer and do the deal instantly.
Move in to the house, take a deep breath and enjoy what you have... most people in the world don't have the pleasure of owning a nice home.
Friends of mine used to live in Scottsdale and told me it got so hot the steering wheel on their car actually melted, is that a reality?
EOM
OT GFCI - Hank, they posted your message as a slam, which in fact it was. Another poster opined that VM board must be a pump & dump board. Not sure how they got to that conclusion ...
no speculation needed, says so on the document. needs correction to certain items so that they can get an SB-2 filing done.
do i hear tax loss?

I am not a banker and since bobwins is away today, I figured I make something up <g>. Most likely within the fine print of the revolving credit doc's is language that lets the bank cancel the loans and call them based upon certain triggers and most likely financial ratio's, such as current ratio, quick ratio, etc. If they are at risk of a big payout, then that could change those ratios. eom

Check out the date on the company website as the last date modified. 7/27/02.... Alarm Bells are going off in my head.
DD this one carefully. EOM
OT GFCI- Hank I thought it was pretty much agreed that this stock was a zip code changer topic. And in my opinion the zip code changing will be for the promoters. The releases they put out are standard issue from the University of Pump & Dump.
may have been premarket, as schwab street smart pro shows 2.35 as low trade for the day. bought some more for my daughter..
Late getting back to the market this morning and missed the buying op. Anyone, did it trade allot below 2.40 or was it just one block?
Hate the Yahoo board... wish this would have a few more posts on it.
Pretty much decided to acquire some shares for 5 year and beyond hold. Assuming MDF continues growth. Yesterday's news tells me that they should be one of the big players in the boomer market that has started to flow into in florida.
OT - LENTINMAN - moving on.
I can't reply to your private message, I am not YET a premium member. I was kind of waiting to see if VM stuck on this site.
I currently live in Sarasota... sold my home recently and just renting short term till I find a home in Portland, OR.
As for my reasons for leaving, I would share privately via email if you really cared, rather not post publicly.
MDF - Lentiman: you said the following:
>>Having said that, there is one consideration. As I drove around the area - which I did everyday for 2 months, I noticed there were buildings that used to house medical facilities of some type, but had not been able to make it. The market is there unlike many other markets in the world, but it isn't like it is new news. There is already a massive number of medical facilities and personnel there in preparation for this mass influx of retirees.
Having actually dealt with some of these facilities I can tell you that MANAGEMENT OF THESE BUSINESSES SUCK. A well run business would prosper in any industry. I REPEAT - BUSINESS IN THAT PART OF THE WORLD IS POORLY MANAGED. That's why I sold my home and house hunting on the west coast of USA>
I think MDF has proven their worth.
JMIH - received from Internet Stock Review newsletter...
1. Jupiter Marine (JMIH) $0.30, Reports Great Numbers.
>
> Incredibly nice numbers from Jupiter Marine. Just read for
> yourselves...and while we are in a sloppy market for small caps, we're
> really shocked that the stock still hasn't gotten onto much firmer
> footing.
>
> (Market cap, fully diluted on 15 million shares is a mere $4.5 million)
>
MDF - The interesting part of that release to me is:
In addition, Metropolitan announced that it has expanded its intended Medicare Advantage HMO market area to include Charlotte, Sarasota and Lee Counties on Florida's west coast. These markets are being added to Martin, St. Lucie and Okeechobee Counties on Florida's eastern Treasure Coast.
-----------------------Those areas are booming and need other sources of health care. So many older people, and Sarasota for example is becoming a more year round community rather than just a Snow Bird landing site. With the Boomers flowing in... MDF is a long term winner and dare I say a long term hold.
I am leaving though! <g> yes!!!
OT Lentinman,
I don't think I stated it clearly. When posting anything to VM board, for example, about EGY, you would have to key in EGY in a field. If you did not do so, the cursor would not move to the text part of the post. Therefore, all posts would clearly start with a ticker or an OT.
Is that clear?
OT: Lentinmen/Bobwins/Hweb
Board posting format. I sent a suggestion to IHUB recently about adding a required field for stock ticker symbols on multi stock boards such as VM. Never got an answer (unusual for IHUB support). If you think this would be a good idea, you might want to follow-up with them. It would require that posters key in symbol or an OT . EOM
SWTX - Anyone hear anything on the NY Display Conf. with Needham? Anyone still own the stock or am I alone again?

Never Sell - Larrybaz
larry said: I have been investing for quite a number of years and have owned many low-priced micro-caps. I have sold many way too soon, way too often. If you think buy and hold doesn't work, talk to Warren Buffet. He may disagree
Keep in mind that Warren Buffet usually takes an active roll in companies he invests in. Getting a seat(s) on the board, installing officers, shaping policy...
So it is not fair to compare. I hope you do great..
Larry Never Sell Baz...
What is the length of your experiment? At some point if it looks like it is a big winner will you look to increase position sizes so that you could make big money. In effect you have created a mutual fund. What brokerage firm do you use and how are commissions going to effect your returns?
Good Luck.... sounds like way to much work for me.
Bones,
That is what a reverse merger is. You reverse the shares, bleed to death all the prior shareholders, issue new stock and run it up. Initially nobody has any stock to sell and knock the price down. Some do it legit, and others just scam...
oops, somebody beat me to it.
Reverse deals are a science..
Lentinman re; Brinker......
Not sure why you came up with the conclusions from reading Brinker that you did. I have been getting his newsletter for years. He states the following as of 3/4/05
"...it is more important to us that our stock market timing model indicators continue to suggest this cyclical bull market has further potential in terms of both time and points"
He does not make mention of any reduction of holdings into a defensive cash posture. Keep in mind he told his subsribers (me) in Jan 2000 to go to cash, where I remained until 3/11/03. Not sure I would jump the gun to a big cash position. I await the Brinker call...
WSTF - HWEB
Good call on WSTF getting hammered. When, or at what price would you be tempted to buy back in?
TIA
does it really matter? they most likely sold next to nothing and most likely lost lots of money doing so.
IPII
Roofing shingle shelves in home depot are usually empty here in florida. Roofers tell me that every truck that comes in with supplies is sold as it hits the floor. Roofing quotes keep going up and up. I had a quote done for some repairs and the guy jacked it up $1000.00 from one week to the next.
pinksheet trading....
24/7 , you can trade anytime anyplace.... otcbb/nasdaq, etc. the market is bound by the rules and order sizes during the trading hours defined by the rules of the exchange. off hours you can still trade if someone puts a buyer and seller together. if you want to sell me a 100 shares of xyz and we exchange certificates vs cash at your local Starbucks, done deal!
MrBones - GFCI
Because greed is greed and human nature always wins out. They say they have profits, therefore they are value.
I am with you 100%.. would not touch it. Promoters always try to fill the company with legit looking front people. And they may be legit, but the promoters will run the stock up and extract the pound of flesh they signed on for. Good luck longs.
gfci... can someone point me to the info as promised in the last part of the press release...
More information about the risks and uncertainties relating to the Company's forward-looking statements are found in our SEC filings.
I don't see any SEC info of a recent date.

Mike,
I think they are full of it. Don't believe everything they tell you. Ask to speak to the head of OTC trading.

JIMH - some comments
1. My brother was at the Miami Boat show and is not really into fishing boats (he has SeaRay 37' boat). He said the boats from Jupiter appeared to be well made and that they had a crowd looking, though not like the SeaRay crowds! One of the Jupiter people commented that they were doing very well...take that FWIW.
2. Although I am long the stock, I am not so enthused with the paid for research report and the recent email pump's that were paid for with stock. Would like to know why they are doing this. If it is to get the price up and use the paper for acquistions, then that might work. If it is to unload insider shares, I want out.
Any thoughts???

Capital Gains Reporting
Seems like a good product, have never used it!

Most of my trades are in tax sheltered accounts, so i don't need no stinkin reporting software.
If I had a decent amount of taxable trades I would most likely just set up an Excel spreadsheet to keep track or as someone else suggested use Quicken and download from your broker.
Good Luck
OT lentinmen,
I guess the important point of all this.... why the long scroll down? Was it with the realization that 99.9% of us would not see it and then use it as a get out of jail card?
Lentinmen re RAW,,,
scroll down on his post, all the way down...
Echos - TALL
I have no position in TALL as of yet. My question to you is about the following statement
"No way is $311,000 a quarter paying for all of this."
Are you thinking in terms of American employee's at US wages. Have you factored in foreign software engineers doing the work?
Thanks for your post.
I will answer my own question... yes it was a buy @ $1.11 ... glad i did.
OT - Gus,
Hey Gus, I am a bit tired of the lazy bs that goes on. You have access to the internet just like everyone else on this board. It took me all of 10 seconds to dig up what you have been spamming us on 3 boards about. I posted a rather civil answer for you to follow up and read about your find. If you don't like the tone, hang up.

Larrybaz - True quote sizes
All this electronic trading came about after my day's in the biz. However, your scenarios seem real. If a MM shows a size of 100 shares and sells them, then the offer should move. You will often see an offer of 2.10 for example and see a load of stock go for 2.099. That I assume is when the MM has a load of stock for sale but does not want to lift the offer. Technically speaking, they could not trade those shares from their own account @ 2.10, as that would be Front Running... illegal practice, but selling them at 2.0999 must be legit. So many scenario's for them to win the game, best not to try and out trade them. Watch when you put an offer out undercutting the current offer by $.01 and almost at the same time it hits, ARCA or someother ECN will jump below you by a penny for 100 shares... that must be some programmed way to protect order flow. I wish I knew how it works, but it most likely would not help us anyway.
Some of those NASDAQ small cap stocks drive me crazy with the constantly changing quotes and almost no trading.
Sheriff Len?
Since you are the self avowed bottom fisher, at what price would you consider KKD a buy? It is a stock that I want to own, after most of the pain has been inflicted by the SEC,etc.
thanks
bobwins/OTCbargins
OTC - agree with you... keep in mind that MM's want to be compensated for the risk of trading crap. And they make sure to make $$$
BOBWINS - a slight correction, 50 cents and under is 5000, 51 -1.00 is 2500 shares, 1.01 and up is 500 shares. Also, when MDF or another stock is bid 3.00 for 5000 shares and offered at 3.05 for 500 shares, what does it tell you about the market if the 500 shares is hiding an offer of 100,000 @ 3.06... NOT MUCH. The specialist on the AMEX or MM's on NASDAQ can and do play major games. Not common knowledge, but have you seen SIZE listed as MM on NASDAQ, that is the symbol used by MM's to submit anonymous bids and offer's... Not very kosher in my book!
