It does look weak doesnt it? I wonder though if Mr Lee is doing any share buyback at these prices. $1mm divided by .0075 = 133mm share buyback. I would assume he is buying as low as possible. Its not out of the ordinary to see a stock price lag during a buyback. It would certainly help the OS to be buying at these prices.
Nice. Every bit of propaganda helps get the word out.
A couple of bids from .005, a couple of asks from .01. Hmm, which way will she go?
Thank you, I do hope the yea's are right:)
It certainly has not been a great ride. PTI has had its share of crooks running the company over the years but also has had some potentially good management too. I guess the question regarding the past is - Have to good managers been given enough chance to make something out of the company or have they just had to spend their time cleaning up the messes?
Currently, PTI is not in the worst shape Ive seen a company in and still make themselves a success. The question of the present is - Is BJW doing all he can to become a success or is he just continuing the work of the likes of LB?
IMO the jury is still out. While his tenure hasnt exactly been exemplory, he has made the appearance of the company moving forward. The evidence supporting a continuing P&D is just as minimal as evidence supporting success. There is almost none on both accounts. We are in a waiting game.
We wont know until its too late
I think 2006 holds one of two possibilities. We will either see some or all of this potential come to fruition, and PTI will become a success (and we will all get rich), or there will be a sudden big dump of new shares on the market and we will be back to the same old same old. Trouble is that none of us can see it coming (the nays have no proof that it is happening already, and the yeas have no proof that we are moving towards something better). It will happen so suddenly that we will either be left with our jaws dropped wondering how we could all have been fooled again, or the success will come so fast that we will all be left wondering why we didnt see it and buy a ton more shares.
That is why I believe that, unless you are going to 'play' these stocks (which has its own inherent risks), you have to just buy and hold for boom or bust, and dont play with money you cant afford to lose. The risk equals the reward.
More like a fruit cocktail I think? There are good stocks and bad stocks on all boards. Just because youre listed on the NYSE doesnt mean you have ethics and run a responsible company. The scams just may be a little different or harder to spot (ever hear of Enron?, now Delta is in the news for scamming $$). This one came out yesterday. Is this a blatant case of a tranparent scam to make the officers rich or what. Of course they did 'check with their lawyers' first so I guess that makes it ok?
http://www.globeinvestor.com/servlet/ArticleNews/story/RTGAM/20051208/wdofasco1208
Unfortunatly I dont believe that catching these people makes a difference to the investor either. Sure they get charged, and maybe penalized in some way but you'd be hard pressed to find a case where investors actually got their money back. And dont tell me that its a deterrent to other scammers by publicly catching these criminals, scams are more prominent now than they have ever been in the markets.
Even the experts get into it. All excited about an intraday surge and where does the stock close? Even.
http://www.globeinvestor.com/servlet/ArticleNews/story/RTGAM/20051208/wmirandaipo1208
Easy backbone, 1.5 down days does not even indicate a trend. We could be .10 again by tomorrow, then what? PTI has some work to do yet. This news was nice but, nothing solid. Besides, stocks tend to go down on news before they spring back higher. Check TXCO. Nov 8 - $6.24. Nov 9, great financials and it went straight down, hitting a low of 5.37 a week later. Since then straight up to $6.54. If you'd bought near the low, 20% return. Besides, as hasher pointed out, its tax time. Lots of selling everywhere. A signed deal in January might just do the trick.
Oh my God, we'er up 2/100's. Just kidding:)
Why do people get so hung up on small, short term price movements? The PTI chart for the last 5 days, 1 month and 3 months is relatively flat. Even the 6 month chart is flat, although a little more animated between .05 and .11. Until we break out of one of those ranges (either up or down) then nothing is happening. I see this on so many boards. Someone gets excited because a stock goes up 10% one day, usually for no reason, sometimes on a weak PR, and then falls back a few days later (or vice versi). Unless youre actually 'trading' then it means squat, especially when 10% = 1 cent or 1/10 of a cent (depending on the value of the stock) and never goes outside of that range. Unless you own a huge amount of shares, it really aint worth getting excited over.
If youre in it for the long run, then even PTI going from .05 to .10 this year is meaningless. Youre probably looking for $1, $2 or more (especially those who have been around since those prices were valid). If youre waiting for it to go bust, well then youve been waiting the same amount of time that the longs have and are no closer to going bust than longs are from hitting the jackpot (sheet, Nortel went from $125 to less than $1 and its still around). PTI is not currently showing any serious signs of moving in either direction. Probably the most valid argument is hasher thinking that we will see .05 again in December, but that has little to do with the state of PTI and more to do with the time of year. Can you say buying op? (Yeah the timing of the latest PR was a bummer too, but holding it till mid Jan would only have brough more questionability.)
Im not picking on this board in particular but it make as good an example as any. Actually the thought to write this stemmed from another board where everyone jumps (more than hashers sheep) with every little tic of movement. Seems we have a lot of seasoned investors here(although I think we've all jumped to conclusions incorrectly at some point:) so I just thought Id ask. Is it just rookies getting excited? It drives me nuts.
I think in the end, the problem Wolf has is that if he made an attempt to help BJW out, then BJW may just take his help and use it to print money and hose shareholders once again the same way LB did. In that aspect I cannot disagree with his concerns. I do hope though that Wolf would will consider that LB is gone, and that he can find some way to give BJW the benefit of the doubt that BJW will do the right thing. Having Wolf's help can only benefit PTI and its shareholders. I think the potential benefits outweigh the possibilities of BJW being another LB.
JMO
Perhaps nothing became of that? Perhaps it was a ruse? Perhaps something better came along? I too would like more information but we cannot force an answer. If and when something becomes of that Im sure it will become known. In the meantime we have other possibilities afoot.
As far as LB messing things up, well, I think you said it all. But LB is gone, and BJW appears to be moving forward, even if it is stumbling. I hope you can too. Remember, he is not only trying to direct a company to success but he is also trying to clean up a previous mess at the same time.
You might be right, you might be wrong, but as your trailer once pointed out (with a slight adjustment) - Jumping up and down doesnt legitimize your point of view (and yes that goes for all of us). Many companies have hard, trying times before they find success. Perhaps this is PTI's time, perhaps not. We will know, when it happens.
Oh no! Down 5%. The world is ending! Run for your life!
show me a signed deal that puts money in PTI's pocket
We are probably closer to that now than PTI has ever been.
Memorandum of understanding is 99 out of 100 times the first step in coming to a more solid agreement. It means the 2 companies have agreed that they have found some common ground that may benefit them both, and both are interested in continuing the effort towards some sort of partnership. A memorandum of understanding also usually includes an exclusivity clause that both parties will make the best effort to come to a mutual agreement between themselves before talking to someone else.
Really hasher Im beginning to doubt your business sense.
Big words from a man who potentially may be able to help the company out but refuses to do so. I appreciated the job you did while with PTI but youre attitude lately makes you no better than any of the other lowenders.
Selling our new, competitive batteries to these customers thru Kung Long could be more simple and just as lucrative as "partnering" with them...................maybe.
I'm sure many of KL's customers could be potential partners.
This says a lot. 'More simple'. That says it all. Get the company going and then expand from there. Hopefully those who cried for a North American deal first are taking note. Potentially a very smart move.
Mr Walter has his work cut out for him in crafting an initial contract with these Taiwans that is viable but not too restrictive in scope relative to future partners and world region distributions, etc, etc, etc,...
True enough. Hopefully these folk see the potential markets the same way some here do (and hopefully BJW) and neither side gets too greedy to get a deal done.
Awesome comments Bill, I like the way you think.
Some quote boards will tell you that information. At other times it is obvious because the B&A spread is wide enough to see that the transaction had to go through as a buy or sell.

Nice, ETRD is asking $100.09, that $100 target just wont go away:) (Quotes are back)
Nice news, finally something solid. Yes you can bet they'll hold it back. This could be the beginning of the MM's losing control of this stock so they'll be wanting to load up before that happens so they can make their gains on the rise. Once volume gets beyond their means hopefully this will really take off. I also find it generally takes up to 3 days for news to spread about BB stocks. Still some to go but this week should be interesting. I wonder if TVA still has developments up their sleeve to add further support to any uptrend?
Market depth - unavailable! Finally we have something to watch and quotes are down!!! LOL.
So, it's safe to complain about nothin' ha'ennin?
LOL, kinda sums it up eh. Let's hope the seven year itch is gonna stir things up soon.

See, you bring this crap up and 1 1/2 minutes later we lose 2/100's :)
Up big on few trades, could be MM's dangling a carrot. No sign of typical MM trades though. Hmm.
Yeah I saw that. Maybe some releif to come.
Any reason for the uptic today? Bid .006, ask .008 and some huge blocks trading at higher prices than lately.
Apparently they just wanted your shares! .09 now. New asks in at .12 and .17 but the bid is rather weak.
Thats not exactly going out on a limb. Yes December is tax selling season and traditionally a low point for most stocks, why should PTI be any different. I guess the question you have to ask is, has PTI has given investors any confidence with what has been released this year to buy in at those lows and expect at least a reasonable return, if not a serious runup, in the new year?
I for one will be loading up if it gets anywhere near .05.
That doesnt surprise me. Most folk will see only what they want to (as you have pointed out many times). Just remember that those words apply to yourself as well.
Dear investing public. Please do not take mine, hasher's or any other pumper or basher's advice. But here is some advice from an investment expert:
"If I'm right (on an investment), I can make 400 percent and if I'm wrong I might lose 60 percent. You can sometimes make 20-fold while the most you can lose is 100 percent. The public doesn't understand that."
Peter Lynch (From Business Edge Magazine, September 15, 2005)
He made this comment while discussing the amazing ride of PetroKazakhstan, which languished at .34 in Sept 1999 with absolutly no one recommending you buy it, and was recently bought out at $65+/- a share!
Funny how certain people understand that concept and others choose to ignore it.
Certainly possible but the huge OS makes it detrimental unless a drastically poor share for share offer is made. No one wants to absorb 1.5 billion shares of dilution to their company so the best we could hope for at the the moment is something like a 1 new share for every 300-400 old shares of RSHN (assuming the purchasing company is currently worth $5/share). This would add approximatly 5 MM shares to the purchasing company and assume NO premium to the current RSHN share price.
RSHN needs to become profitable and then buy back about a billion shares.
JMO
That is badly said isnt it. Perhaps
'using patented, ultra light materials and up to 50% less lead than conventional batteries'
would be better?
But then again its just semantics (albeit really bad ones) isnt it? If having something written badly or incorrectly is one's reason for not investing in a company then you would really be limiting your options. How many companies (let alone individuals) get the wording perfect everytime? I bet you could take every PR ever written and find something misleading in it. Microsoft screws up all the time, even with the multitude of overpaid lawyers and speechwriters they have. I will agree that something so simple really shouldnt be missed or left incorrect for this length of time but perhaps management is focussing on better things.
So now youre combining comments from different posts to try to make your points?
From post #11613 - Yes hasher it is 2005, not 1999 or 2001 or 2002. Get over it.
From post #11614 - And yes the PPS is up 100% from the .05 earlier this year that you were telling everyone not to buy in at nevermind when PPS was .025 and you said it was going to .001. I for one made up my own mind to double my position at .028 and am laughing all the way to the bank.
I have never once said that the PPS is up since those previous years. If you didnt get it yet, I live in the present.
Just for the record, I made my first purchase of PTI in 1999 and am doing just fine thank you.
ITRI = "a non-profit organization"
Nobody seems to have noticed that. Should keep the costs of development down.
.. it's only fair to a new investor..
So you are the be all end all decision maker of what happens to new investors? My we have a narrow perspective of a inverstor's ability to think for themselves.
I hope all those who didnt buy below .05 arent kicking themselves too much for listening to you. 100%+ in less than 1 year, wow that would have been terrible.

Thanks for doing the legwork hasher, proving once again that you continue to live in the past. Here's a hint, its Nov. 28, 2005. Get over it already. Im willing to live or die with this company (my choice), but in today's world. The past is gone and there is nothing we can do about it. Nice of you to drag WM into the picture, a man who has already stated that he refuses to help in the future propects of this company no matter who it harms.
I believe this interview was designed not only to keep investors informed but also to keep the speculation fever pitch from dropping. It would add to the credibility of the company to continue these on a monthly basis but events must also move forward to affect the pps.
OT: You had to know this was coming.
