CC will probably rebound some next couple days with multiple bidders having a look at them.
Exactly, coal just happens to be what we get cheap for now..but look what it does to our inviroment..just not worth it.
Unlike petroleum, jatropha oil is renewable and biodegradable. Burning it, or biodiesel made from it, is cleaner than burning fossil fuels as it produces a fraction of the carbon dioxide — the main greenhouse gas responsible for climate change.

Fifty two years ago - on March 8, 1956 - famed geologist and geophysicist M. King Hubbert stepped to the podium at the Spring meeting of the Southwest Section of the American Petroleum Institute and delivered a speech predicting that U.S. oil production would peak within 10-15 years. When oil did in fact peak in 1970, Hubbert enjoyed several years of acclaim and public attention during the mid to late 1970s. Hubbert’s calculations indicated that world oil peak would occur around 2000 but could be delayed 5-10 years or more by significant disruptions in world oil production. It now appears that conventional oil peaked in 2005.
pretty good reading...I love history now, funny how I hated it in school lol
http://channelinghubbert.com/tag/peak-oil/
lol true, I havent heard that in a long time. I was also wondering just how far along these farmers in Florida are with jatropha. Is that plant even allowed in the states right now?
He seemed to like coal to liquid fuel but that still has a high cost. The point to the segment was the demand isn't going away for a while so additional supplies need to come into the market without relying on companies to find it.. Jatropha fits that perfectly...wind and solar just fill the grid needs.
took six million to break .0005, thats a lot less than the predicted 100 mil I saw here yesterday
An analyst on CNBC this morning said he believe the demand for liquid fuels will be so high in the next five years that oil will move upwards to $500 per barrel
49 year lease agreement is great, wont have to re negotiate for a long time
Brazil is the world's second largest producer of ethanol and the world's largest exporter, and it is considered to have the world's first sustainable biofuels economy and the biofuel industry leader.
Since the second half of the 70's, and as a result of the 1973 oil crisis, the Brazil government has been promoting ethanol as a fuel. By 1978 the first gasohol automobile was developed
The Brazilian ethanol program provided nearly 700,000 jobs in 2003, and cut 1975–2002 oil imports by a cumulative undiscounted total of US$50 billion.
so basicly a proven biofuel economy has existed in Brazil for over 30 years now...good stuff :)
