Subject: Have A Heart
A cardiologist died and was given an elaborate funeral. A huge heart covered in flowers stood behind the casket during the service.
Following the eulogy, the heart opened, and the casket rolled inside. The heart then closed, sealing the doctor in the beautiful heart forever.
At that point, one of the mourners burst into laughter. When all eyes stared at him, he said, "I'm sorry, I was just thinking of my own funeral........I'm a gynecologist."
And at that point, the proctologist fainted.

My wife and I bought a few thousand shares in NVEI to secure our future.
She will graduate college in June of 2002. Is it possible that the
verification, NASDAQ listing and some marketing will be completed by then?
Thank you,
AL
Al,
As you may know, we are very reluctant to put time lines on the process of
commercialization of our technology. However, with the expanded period of
18 months you have suggested, it is safe to project that all of the issues
you addressed will be accomplished. By investing in NVEI as a long term
investment, you and your wife have demonstrated a vision for both our
proprietary solution to communications and also to where the market in
general is moving. As we enable the telcos to provide low cost complex
content over their existing infrastructure, the ease with which we
communicate will be greatly improved. We remain confident in our strategy
and in the contribution we will be making. Thank you for joining us in this
endeavor.
John Howell
Do you have a link to that I want to see if my wife's co. is listed there.

There is a sign posted from this old timer saying he has his 20 acres for sale. My 1/2 acre of land runs into that 20 acres. C'mon NVEI/RIM Show me the Money so I can buy it!
Well, maybe im just to lazy to move my compost pile off his land, I'd rather buy it then move it.....

Anyone think this may happen to NV/RIM after that poison pill expires?
Would some company want to buy out RIM but not NV, It would not sound good for a big Co. to buy an entertaiment Co. when it only deals with communication technology?

I was looking up some old rivals and saw NXTV was not trading anymore, I thought they went under.
From the looks of it they were bought out by Motorola.
Anyone know more about his deal?
SCHAUMBURG, Ill., April 14 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Motorola, Inc. (NYSE: MOT) announced today that it has successfully completed its cash tender offer of $1.18 per share for all outstanding shares of common stock of Next Level Communications, Inc. (Nasdaq: NXTV).
Update:
I guess this is why MOT bought NXTV...
NXTV) Rohnert Park, CA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec 31, 2002--Ace Communications Group, an independent communications company serving customers throughout southeast Minnesota, northeast Iowa, and northwest Michigan, will deploy equipment from Next Level Communications (Nasdaq:NXTV.Q) to deliver digital TV, high-speed Internet and voice services over existing telephone lines. Ace will initially use Next Level equipment to offer digital TV, high-speed Internet and telephone services to 4,000 customers in La Crescent, MN, with plans to roll out a similar bundle of voice, video and data services in other exchanges later in 2003. Ace will also use the Next Level platform to offer a digital TV, Internet and voice service package as a Competitive Local Exchange Carrier (CLEC) to 1,600 additional customers in Caledonia, MN, through its subsidiary, Ace Link Telecommunications.

CHICAGO, April 14 (Reuters) - Wireless technology company Motorola Inc. (NYSE:MOT) on Monday said it completed its tender offer for shares of Next Level Communications Inc. (NASDAQ:NXTV) it does not already own after extending the deadline five times.
Motorola, based in the Chicago suburb of Schaumburg, Illinois, said about 13.3 million shares of Next Level were tendered when the offer expired at 5 p.m. EDT on Friday, April 11.
As a result of the tender offer, Motorola increased its ownership of Next Level's common stock to 88.7 percent from 74 percent. The company said it will acquire the remaining shares through a merger in which remaining shareholders can receive $1.18 per share in cash.
The world's No. 2 maker of cell phones raised its offer to $1.18 a share from $1.04 a share last month after encountering fierce opposition from Rohnert Park, California-based Next Level, which claimed the initial price was too low.
Next Level, whose technology allows telephone lines to transmit video and data services at high speeds, has suffered from the telecom spending slowdown. The company last week posted a narrower first-quarter loss as revenue rose 41 percent to $19.9 million.
Motorola acquired its majority stake in Next Level as part of its January 2000 purchase of General Instrument Corp.
Motorola said Next Level's shares will no longer be listed on the Nasdaq National Market once it completes the merger.
"With the tender offer successfully behind us, we can now begin the important work of re-integrating Next Level's business into our operations, providing a sound financial base to continue its development of compelling broadband solutions to wireline operators," said Christopher Galvin, chairman and chief executive of Motorola in a news release.
Shares of Motorola fell 10 cents or 1.3 percent to $7.90 on the New York Stock Exchange on Monday morning while shares of Next Level remained flat at $1.17 on the Nasdaq.

Amazing shark photos!
"Seeing a white shark (Carcharodon carcharias) breaching clean out of the water is one of the most amazing experiences in nature. The power and presence of these animals is awesome. The best time to experience this is in mid-winter at sunrise in False Bay, near Cape Town. Among the white shark’s favorite prey is the Cape fur seal (Arctocephalus pusillus). As seals are far more agile than white sharks and will usually escape if they spot the shark in time, the shark relies on surprise in the form of these explosive attacks."

"I love this shot. It was taken in very low light and is not too sharp—but is the highest breach that I have ever seen. The white shark’s (Carcharodon carcharias) large, powerful, equal-lobed tail and wide caudal keel allows it to achieve bursts of speed sufficient to launch it this far from the water."

"I was filming a white shark (Carcharodon carcharias) on seal-predation sequence for the BBC. I had managed to get permission to use a seal carcass for the underwater shot, which was floating behind the boat. I had my polecam in the water. A large white shark arrived but did not seem very interested in the easy feast on offer. It would swim around the carcass occasionally bumping it with its nose. To make things even more difficult, the underwater visibility was very poor, about four meters (13 feet). After a time the shark disappeared, but I kept the camera rolling. After about five minutes, there was a huge splash and my polecam was airborne. The next thing that I was aware of in the ensuing chaos was that the head of this huge shark, jaws snapping, was sharing the diving platform with me. Note how the shark’s eyes are rolled back in attack mode. Fortunately, there is no record of how my eyes looked at that moment."
—Charles Maxwell
"It is not the shark that I am filming that worries me, it is the second shark that I have not seen that poses the potential danger."—Charles Maxwell, Shark Alley, Dyer Island, South Africa, July 1998.

Hey, I own some NVEI shares! Alot at that, well, to my bacon ;) lol
Oh ok its so they can dilute up to 500,000 and make our shares more worthless.
So if we all vote no what will be the alternative that NV/Rim will do?
Is this a 5 for one split?

Here is a pretty neat little thing from Paul Harvey. See if you can guess the riddle at the end.
Paul Harvey Writes:
We tried so hard to make things better for our kids that we made them worse. For my grandchildren, I'd like better.
I'd really like for them to know about hand me down clothes and homemade ice cream and leftover meat loaf sandwiches. I really would.
I hope you learn humility by being humiliated, and that you learn honesty by being cheated.
I hope you learn to make your own bed and mow the lawn and wash the car.
And I really hope nobody gives you a brand new car when you are sixteen.
It will be good if at least one time you can see puppies born and your old dog put to sleep.
I hope you get a black eye fighting for something you believe in.
I hope you have to share a bedroom with your younger brother/sister. And it's all right if you have to draw a line down the middle of the room, but when he wants to crawl under the covers with you because he's scared, I hope you let him.
When you want to see a movie and your little brother/sister wants to tag along, I hope you'll let him/her.
I hope you have to walk uphill to school with your friends and that you live in a town where you can do it safely.
On rainy days when you have to catch a ride, I hope you don't ask your driver to drop you two blocks away so you won't be seen riding with someone as uncool as your Mom.
If you want a slingshot, I hope your Dad teaches you how to make one instead of buying one.
I hope you learn to dig in the dirt and read books.
When you learn to use computers, I hope you also learn to add and subtract in your head.
I hope you get teased by your friends when you have your first crush on a boy\girl, and when you talk back to your mother that you learn what ivory soap tastes like.
May you skin your knee climbing a mountain, burn your hand on a stove and stick your tongue on a frozen flagpole.
I don't care if you try a beer once, but I hope you don't like it. And if a friend offers you dope or a joint, I hope you realize he is not your friend.
I sure hope you make time to sit on a porch with your Grandma/Grandpa and go fishing with your Uncle.
May you feel sorrow at a funeral and joy during the holidays.
I hope your mother punishes you when you throw a baseball through your neighbor's window and that she hugs you and kisses you at Hannukah/Christmas time when you give her a plaster mold of your hand.
These things I wish for you -- tough times and disappointment, hard work and happiness. To me, it's the only way to appreciate life.
Written with a pen. Sealed with a kiss. I'm here for you. And if I die before you do, I'll go to heaven and wait for you.

BAGHDAD, Iraq (July 22) - Saddam Hussein's sons Odai and Qusai were killed in a six-hour firefight Tuesday when U.S. forces surrounded and then stormed a palatial villa in the northern Iraqi town of Mosul, a senior American general said.
''We are certain that Odai and Qusai were killed today,'' said Lt. Gen. Ricardo Sanchez at a news conference in Baghdad.
''They died in a fierce gunbattle,'' Sanchez added.
He told reporters that soldiers from the 101st Airborne Division were working on a tip from an Iraqi informant that the sons were present in the house.
When troops approached the building, gunmen inside opened fire with small arms. The ''suspects barricaded themselves in the house'' and ''resisted fiercely,'' he said.
Sanchez promised a detailed briefing on the operation Wednesday.
''The bodies were in such a condition where you could identify them,'' he said. The identities of the other two dead were not known, he said.
Sanchez was asked about heavy gunfire that erupted across Baghdad about 10 p.m., believed to have been in celebration of reports that Saddam's sons had been killed in Mosul.
The general said the gunfire may have been in celebration over the son's death or hostile fire aimed at U.S. occupation forces. ''It's very appropriate that they would celebrating about now,'' he said.
In Washington, L. Paul Bremer, Iraq's top civilian administrator, said he did not want to comment on how the deaths of Saddam's sons would affect security in Iraq.
However, Bremer said: ''It certainly is good news for the Iraqi people.''

Simon interrogated after striking racing sausage with bat
MILWAUKEE (AP) -- Pittsburgh first baseman Randall Simon was questioned by sheriff's officers after hitting one of the Milwaukee Brewers' sausage mascots with a bat.
Four people in sausage costumes race around the infield warning track between the sixth and seventh innings at Brewers games as part of the entertainment for the fans.
Videotape of Wednesday night's race showed that when the group went past the Pirates dugout, Simon swung a bat at the Italian sausage character, hitting her from behind and causing her to tumble to the ground. As she fell, a nearby sausage -- the hot dog -- went down as well.
"They were doing the sausage race. He hit her with the baseball bat," said Deputy Inspector Sherry Warichak of the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Department, which provides security at Brewers games. "When he hit her, that other character fell."
"They both were treated at the scene for scraped knees, but at this point I don't think they have any other complaints," she said.
Warichak identified the woman in the Italian sausage costume as a 19-year-old from South Milwaukee with the first name of Mandy, and the woman in the hot dog costume as a 21-year-old woman with first name of Veronica. She and Milwaukee Brewers spokesman Jon Greenberg declined to identify them further.
The deputy inspector said the victims and Simon were interviewed at the stadium. She said Simon was taken to the Milwaukee County Jail to be booked, then released and ordered to see appear in the district attorney's office Thursday.
Warichak said it would be up to prosecutors what charges, if any, would be filed.
She said Simon was handcuffed when he was taken to be booked, which she said was standard procedure for anybody being taken to jail, but she said he had been "totally cooperative" in the investigation.
After the incident, Simon drew boos from many of the fans when he was used as a pinch-hitter in the seventh. He grounded out -- the only playing time he saw. The Brewers won 2-1 in 12 innings.
The Pirates issued a statement Thursday saying the organization did not condone Simon's actions and that the team "will also address this issue internally."
"The Pittsburgh Pirates apologize to the Milwaukee Brewers organization and to the Brewers' fans for this unfortunate incident," the statement said.
Pirates manager Lloyd McClendon said he would wait to comment about the sausage incident. "Until I get more information, I don't want to comment," he said.
But Simon's teammate Reggie Sanders said he thought the weight of the head on the sausage costume, combined with the strike with the bat, may have been contributed to the fall.
"It maybe made it look worse than it was," Sanders said. "It was an unfortunate situation and, hopefully, it gets resolved."
Rick Schlessinger, Brewers executive vice president for business operations, said he felt Simon's "conduct is just unjustified."
"This is one of the most outrageous things I've ever seen inside a ballpark or outside a ballpark," he added. "It sickened me to see it."
He said he was in contact with Larry Silverman, vice president/baseball legal counsel for the Pirates, about the incident, and he was glad the sheriff's department was investigating.
"It's now in their hands, as well it should be," Schlessinger said.
"I do not view this as a reflection on the Pirates organization."
Schlessinger issued a statement Thursday saying that that the sausage races would continue in their current form.
Greenberg said the racing sausages were scheduled to compete against racing pierogies at a series with the Pirates in Pittsburgh Aug. 15-17 and then again during a series between the teams Aug. 22-24 at Milwaukee. A pierogi is a type of stuffed dumpling.
Ryan Borghoff, 16, who wore the bratwurst costume in the race, called the incident "unbelievable."
He said the other racer was not hit in the head.
"He just hit the costume and she fell over," he said. "These things are so top-heavy that it doesn't take much."
Borghoff went on to win the race. "Somebody had to, I guess," he said.

Alvarion boosts buyback program by $10M (ALVR) By Michael Baron
Alvarion (ALVR) is up almost 5 percent to $3.85 in morning trades, pulling back slightly after hitting a 52-week high of $3.89 earlier in the session. The Israel-based wireless broadband equipment provider's board has expanded the company's buyback program by $10 million. Under its first buyback program, Alvarion repurchased about 4 million shares for $8 million.
