Exactly, he's always said BC is incidental to CGC success. The illegal dispensary model trumpets are forgetting one simple fact... Bc is 4000km away from Ontario! People are not relocating to, or driving to, or flying to Vancouver to get meds from the best illegal producer in Canada when a mail order , insurance qualified , tax deductible , quality controlled , lift cannabis reviewed, DNA certified, Pharma grade standard, 20% low income discounted Bomb Ass OG Kush supplier is a MOUSE CLICK ...or... A "Better " location nearby!
And theirs no municipal uproar about poor business practices and gang affiliation. It's a No Brainer! But No Brain might just be the issue that cause a person not to understand elementary logic
Yahoo finance publishes a trailing monthly figure
The very last sentence in this article explains the major reasons why the Chrétien lead Liberal Government of Canada promptly backed away from decriminalization of cannabis over a decade ago. The American Federation threatened to stall the neighbouring Can/Us boarders, therefore stalling the Canadian / Us trade economy .
But the irony is thick! Without Us federal blessing , the Us states , neighbouring Canadian provinces have legalized recreational Cannabis with out any such threat from the former Conservative Canadian government, nd the boarders did not stall and the skies did not fall!
So, here's to our fearless PM elect Justin Trudeau nd the Liberal Majority Government , who we hope will boldly LEGALIZE CANNABIS in the near future, with out quivering to the anti Cannabis Fear-mongering that can be expected with such a bold and RIGHT initiative.
**on a side not, I think our Princess of Pot Mrs Emery is mistaken to believe businesses will get a license to opporate Vape lounges under this initial move. Public smoking has had a very poor history nd unlike bars and alcohol, employees of such locations aren't necessarily protected from second hand consumption just by means of employment. A very secondary cause, a distraction to the main effort of legalization IMO. Perhaps much much later, a public vacuum room proposal might fly...but why? Imo

What's up with the Certified Partner Program at Tweed? It didn't get much traction in the media , and frankly, I think that's because it didn't offer up much in the initial publication other than a declaration of the program in a muted paragraph.
So, here's to speculation.
Could the Canopy be looking to the friendly and wise dispensary and compassion club community? Obviously the folks at Former MedCann Access saw the benefit of opportunity on the side of the law in persuit of change and progress. So I'm wondering in these "partners" are some of the sensible folks out in BC and other regions ,recognize the Canopy initiative to "Better" the industry's potential without having unnecessary friction within an evolving regulatory framework?
I like how Rona Ambrose's Dispensary Threatening letters for September went "up in smoke". That entire caucus was just full of hot air and an embarrassment to the Majority of Canadians as we see in the 42nd federal election results.
We still have Extracts updates in the very near future as mentioned by both Bedrocan and Tweed... And Financials Q2 in the coming weeks.
So while all the hype of the Liberal win, Cabinet assignment and throne speech around the first week of November ( which may or may not mention out legal Cannabis initiatives), there will be plenty more BizBits for investors to salivate over in the coming weeks!
Very exciting times.
This board has really accelerated its value. Very interesting article links and topic discussions. And A and B trolls provide great comic relief to the real life goings on of the industry. A real literary foil to the common sense literature published in the Majority Liberal Party platform of a REGULATED industry.
Can't fix voluntary ignorance though. The former Government proved that
This feels like a normal trading day to me. Yesterday was dumping day. Let's hope Canopy keeps its gains today. 500K shares traded before 10am
They make money trading that way but we are looking for something bigger so us longs have to hold. Canopy is positioned well so let's see how the following weeks unfold.
I have a lot of shares in CGC and I have done my DD. This process takes time. Folks our day is coming sooner than we might think. Do not get discouraged. Stocks are volatile, that is their nature. The market is very unpredictable but Canopy is on the right path. Everything has happened how it's suppose to. We will be laughing our way to the bank sooner than we think!!
Here is to Future growth!!
This was a typical buy on "rumor sell on News" investors bought in the days leading up to the election so as to sell after the election. That was the rally a couple days ago. I don't think it was because they wanted to go long. The real investors will be coming after. The ones who want a quick buck came in before the election and they are leaving now. soon the dust will settle. We traded almost 4 million shares today. More than most stocks on the TSX.V
Market stock traders buy on the rumor, meaning that they treat forecasts prepared by economists and analysts as though the event had already happened precisely as predicted. In other words, they “build in” the forecast to the price, creating the very high on the price bar that the news is supposed to produce.
To sell on the news relates to the event itself. You sometimes get the seeming paradox of a price reaching a new high before the event and falling lower immediately after the event, even when the news matches the forecast. The lower price comes about because the early birds take profit on the up move that they themselves engineered. The new low is usually short lived. After all, the forecast was for good news and the good news occurred, so the news was properly built in and the new high is the appropriate price.
We are in the news now so that should be good. I think traderss were taking profits. I am long on this one.

scare tactics my friend lol not on this board. Are you looking to "short"? I for one I'm happy about holding and so are alot of the other members on this board. We have done our DD on this company. Stop trying to scare us! wrong board my friend
The price might not have taken off as expected but I haven't seen so much action on CGC in a long time! Almost 3 mil shares traded guys and buyers are still coming in. Patience my friends!

it just went up!! don't know what this market is going to do today. It's going crazy!
2.55 now lol @ 75K ask.I'm checking it on Active trader
What did I miss ?
Hahahahahahhahaha.
Goooooo Canopyyyyy!
Holy smokes is right. White smoke coming out of Atlantic Canada. Conservative Pope has left the region!
Hooooly Cow Dung Batman, I think we're gonna need a bigger Canopy!!
Slap!
We're not done counting yet Robin! Shhhhh...
I just read the article. Seems very strange to so blatantly have any advantage given in a federal election by staggering polling hrs, even if it may be minuscule. Every vote counts. Elections Canada Fail
I think the wall is understandable. Usually resistance is found at even numbers and I can see how there would be resistance considering the election today. Traders are not sure what the outcome will be so they are cautious. Hopefully when the results come in the price will increase.
The Market is so irrational. I can't put my finger on how a company like Medbox Inc( Medbox, provides specialized services to operators of dispensaries, cultivation centers, manufacturers and research facilities in those states where approved.) goes from 2.90 to over $20 in less than a month with no proven results.
CGC has proven over and over again that they are leading this industry so right now it's left to the market to evaluate how much it is willing to pay for a share of CGC. I am eager to see if Justin Trudeau becomes our Prime Minister how this transfers into the stock price.
Poll closing times... Copied from Hunchbackgeeks elections canada link. Check your specific time zone
Polls are open for 12 hours across the country on election day. The voting hours are staggered so that the majority of results are available at approximately the same time on election night.
Voting hours at polling places for each time zone across Canada.
Time zone Voting hours (local time)
Newfoundland 8:30 a.m. – 8:30 p.m.
Atlantic 8:30 a.m. – 8:30 p.m.
Eastern 9:30 a.m. – 9:30 p.m.
Central 8:30 a.m. – 8:30 p.m.
Mountain
(and Saskatchewan in the 2015 election)* 7:30 a.m. – 7:30 p.m.
Pacific 7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.
*In Saskatchewan, when daylight saving time is in effect for the rest of the country, voting hours are from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
I am almost certain all polls have to be closed before any results are given. The differences that show in times is because of time zones. 7pm pacific time is 9pm Atlantic and so on. Same time on earth... Results come in as they are finished counting
We hv 5 time zones. So 9 is ambiguous without a time zone. It's around that time eastern standard, but I hv to double check
Go canopy
Re: extracts-
I don't think HC wants to start acting as a business agent for the MMPR. Sales licenses will be granted based on quality and consistency of production IMO. Is the potency accurate and consistent? Is the production process pharma grade hygienic? Is the best before shelf life accurate? Is the dosage accurate?
Any LP could have whipped up a clear oil and fancy bottle like another LP we already have seen, but does it pass the pharmaceutical sniff test? If not... Back to drawing board.
I doubt HC is even considering holding back a 100% pass product. That's why Canopy hasn't flinched and more or less called the other LP's bluff. It's better to get it right than first. IMO
CGC is trading more shares than Canadian Oils sands, Blackberry, Manulife Fin and Air Canada just to name a few! I've wanted to see this for quiet some time. I was really tired of the low volume. A breathe of fresh air!
That would mean a DIN# for cannabis. Nice.
Ya, but what do you think about people even bothering to medical unless absolutely necessary, like oils for children or topical creams. I think demand will still be there, but will the investment match it. While RMJ can be expected to have a hockey stick curve like growth rate, similar to Canopies current MMJ growth rate, do you think a there will be a major shift in Medical demand, at least in the forefront of legalization?
Do uthink The Mmpr can anticipate a tapering of patient uptake post elections/legalization as people decide it easier to go recreational than go through the medical regime, and therefore a tapering off of revenue and a shift in business focus?
What happens post-election if no party wins a majority?

Im a self professed radio geek. Its my preferred form of media. Able to do other things while I listen. Heres a CBC radio program with some info about the minority conundrum. Of course only because of the elections direct relevance to CGC.V.
Go Canopy Go
Im really thinking this is an IPO opportunity for Canopy, and for all already licensed MMJ companies who are already positioned to capitalize on the new RMJ ( recreational Marijuana ) market. The market may be quite irrational for the next few days. I hope the industry gets significant volume and news coverage. And I hope Canopy makes that uplisting to the tsx.
Imagine a Liberal MP with medical background at the head of Health Canada. Personally, even if Canopy bud is 25% priced over Street market, I would still favor Canopy. I like heineken, and Appleton, not moonshine grime. And I suspect Canadians dont want to hit up the local drug dealer when a legal option is available. Street Market is a minor concern to legit markets. A problem better left to Law enforcement if some one is still dumb enough to try nd live off illegal trade
I expect if the price pulls too far away from either the 200 day or 50 day MA, depending on market sentiments, it will definitely pull back. But even that could be temporary. I'm thinking of Dollarama (Dol.to). The fundamentals of a well organized company should be its driving force
Wow. " you got me hype , hyper , hyper . Am I hype enough! Pass the blunt motherf@&$er , let me sh%+ up!"
I was speculating with my wife that the conservatives get no seats and Harper has to hide away with his tail tucked in.
It's all a guess my friend. A liberal win is like another IPO. So as IPO goes, nobody knows. When tweed first came out with no sales or even product $4.20 was easy.
There's another tweed board on ihub that lasted a few days. Its interesting to read cause the day traders rode that bronco IPO all around.
Tweed farms is a multiple of 10 right away for supply. Smith Falls has more room to build out if necessary. Bedrocan just had more grow space approved. So in a growth scenario, after legalization and share price appreciation, if demand is still straining supply, could share holders expect another round of financing to build out more with IMQD perhaps?, a wholesaler acquisition, another green house?, and this would mean some dilution?
Playing the Devils Advocate:
Liberals win a Minority. The Legalization of Recreational MJ Bill goes to the house of commons and the Cons outright oppose. But the NDP ( who up until last week would only support Decriminalization ) start asking for sexual favors from the Liberal Party on something significant, like, say...senate reform... or ... A differing position on the TPP deal.
I was just thinking about how much were taking for granted in a liberal minority government situation. NOTHING gets done without support from the house. What Im saying is we've actually been here before. On the cusp of reform.
Quick Link for Reference http://www.theguardian.com/world/2002/oct/07/worlddispatch
Chretien and Liberals couldnt get the support they needed. The big backlash as far as I remember was the American Boarder threatening that legalization would clog the boarders of trade cause they would be searching for cannabis all day long, in private and commercial vehicles. Oh how times hv changed nd some American States r the first to legalize recreational cannabis.
What Im saying is this; The BILL! The BILL! THE BILL. It has to be written and passed through the house of commons. Depending on Mondays results, it will have to have support from the majority of the MP's. Politics! and Laws!
Ok , put it this way...Smith... Allard...Legalization under anything other than a Majority Liberal Government is going to be Murky, time consuming, political and Legal Suspence.
I am 100% pro legalization. I would buy cannabis for insence cause I love the smell so much. But I see politicians being political in the long road ahead.
Im almost certain the senate would support the bill, cause although they are privelaged elite, they are not all baffoons.
I voted on the first early poll day. Get this. 1.7 Million people voted in early polls over 4 days and Elections Canada could barely keep up cause Harper Cons Gutted their budget to contribute to eliminating the deficit. If we get a 30% turn out of our population on Monday, Thats 10.5 Million people voting in one day! Thats why I went early, cause I think its gonna be a cluster F#@* at the polling stations.
People are generally impatient and want to vote as fast as they order a coffee. But turns out people have had to wait, sometimes up to 1.5 hrs. I advise people to go early. By Law employers must afford 3 hrs to citizens to vote. With the sentiments in the electorate right now, ABC, ABH, Cannabis Legalization, I think the turn out will be more than 30% of the population.
Need I say, Go Canopy Go!
Wish all the Investors here all the best.
30 High Quality Strains ( Including Bedrocan ) available on Tweed.com
19 months and doing great! Im thinking of the variety potential. Like an LCBO. Hundreds of Connoisseur Products and not to mention Extracts. With legalization it will be very hard to maintain inventory. Product will fly off the shelf. Think Holidays like New Years, Sport Event Finals, April 20!
The significance of Indoor Harvest Commercial Scale production will also show some sweet potential.
