The very last sentence in this article explains the major reasons why the Chrétien lead Liberal Government of Canada promptly backed away from decriminalization of cannabis over a decade ago. The American Federation threatened to stall the neighbouring Can/Us boarders, therefore stalling the Canadian / Us trade economy .
But the irony is thick! Without Us federal blessing , the Us states , neighbouring Canadian provinces have legalized recreational Cannabis with out any such threat from the former Conservative Canadian government, nd the boarders did not stall and the skies did not fall!

So, here's to our fearless PM elect Justin Trudeau nd the Liberal Majority Government , who we hope will boldly LEGALIZE CANNABIS in the near future, with out quivering to the anti Cannabis Fear-mongering that can be expected with such a bold and RIGHT initiative.

**on a side not, I think our Princess of Pot Mrs Emery is mistaken to believe businesses will get a license to opporate Vape lounges under this initial move. Public smoking has had a very poor history nd unlike bars and alcohol, employees of such locations aren't necessarily protected from second hand consumption just by means of employment. A very secondary cause, a distraction to the main effort of legalization IMO. Perhaps much much later, a public vacuum room proposal might fly...but why? Imo
