Hi Tom, JBL
Looks like a great Aim play by that chart. Nice and choppy, the kind we like for Aim. Looks like buying from scared and selling to greedy certainly could apply to JBL's chart. I have not back tested it yet. Ken
Hi extelecom,
Thanks for the link. Ken
Hi Slappy,
Not much to respond to here. Looks like an employee copying news bulletins we all read anyway. Ken
Hi Ken,
Funny? My name is Ken too. I agree, BPI had a triple bottom and would appear to have found a bottom. I'm in too. Ken
Amazon Tom,
Hi Amazon Tom! I just wanted you to know I read all of the reviews of our beloved little book on Amazon.com today. I'd like to thank you for standing up for AIM and for all those attacks you took. Not much middle ground, it was either 1 or 4/5 star reviews. I'll be your corner man if you need one. Best reguards, I know you have a big week coming up starting on Tue. Ken
JBL,
I like the JBL chart for starting another AIM. I'm sitting on tons of cash since 3/06. BPI Energy Holdings(BPG/ 55 cents) is my only current AIM position. IW is a little too high for me to want to index right now. Maybe I should look at the beaten up Ishares? Are ther any? Any suggestions? Ken
Hi jersey al,
I re-read your post today. It reminded me of the 2000-01 crash. I know of a chiroprator(retired) who rode a $1,100,000 portfolio of Nasdaq stocks all the way down to $150,000. He was in his early seventies. Too bad he didn't use AIM. The lack of a buy/sell program ruined a life long investment. Ken
{As I have aged, I find that I becoming more apolitical, not really identifying with either conservatives or liberals, democrats or republicans. Though for most of my adult life, I was a conservative Republican.}
How are common everyday folks ever going to be served by multi-millionaires? Ken
Hi Lost Cowboy,
Haven't seen you around on the boards lately. Hope all is well with you. Looks like the board has gone silent. But I still check back from time to time. Lots of old time names not around in AIM boards anymore. Hopefully they are still readers of AIM related boards. Best reguards, Ken
Hi Tom,
Wow! Did you hit the ball out of the park on this one. Send Sam22 and nappen over here. The chart of what you've done here says it all about AIM. I'm trying to jack one over waveland ave. myself with BPG. Congrats,,, and by the way my Yahoo home page loads so slow,,I switched my home page to aim-users.com,,,loads right up,, Ken
Hi Tom, Newport,
I'm at a loss right now,, I have loaded the program with the computer dated to correct day/month in 1990,, and again in 1996,, and of course 2007,,,, all are same just different years,,,, Then I do dump the winport.exe, delete it,, and down load Jack's,, in all 3 scenarios I can enter a new stock with the initial trade,,, then it will not allow any further trades as it says incorrect date,, and as always with every entry/exit into the program it wants a price update,, ask Bob if you can U.S.mail me a working copy, or maybe he could. I'll download that patch and see if that works when posted here, thanks for helping, and to all,,, I like a challenge and this is certainly that,,Ken
Oil Prices,
I just had to post this,,, I was watching CNN today with my wife when a guest said oil could fall to under $20,,,he was on a show called In the Money,,,,, I believe we'll get to $100 and over by 2010,, not under $20,,, the 3 largest oil fields are in Saudia Arabia and those pumps have been running for nearly 53 years folks, what are we going to replace those with? Ken
Hi Jack,
It did fix the mismatch problem,, but as you read i still have bugs,,, Tom will see Bob Norman this week and maybe he can post all patches and fixes for Newport on the website, thanks, Ken
Download from AIM site,
Thanks Tom for wanting to put it on your site. I did pay for the program and wanted to use it again after blowing the dust off it. I use PCA which is very good, but I'll bet I'm not the only Aimer out there who needs a fix for the Newport. Jack's Winport.exe has cured the type mismatch, but something else is still wrong and missing. After entering the initial trade it will not let me add in any buy/sell after that,, irreguardless of what date I use,,,, and also with every entry into the program it wants a price update(which of course was already previously done) thanks to you and Jack for your assistance, I'll be looking for that download, Ken
Thanks Tom,
His first day back to Purdue is tomorrow,, he's not sure if he can be on his feet all day and walk that far but he'll try,,,, you know college,, loaded up on MWF's then easier schedule on TTH's,, Ken
On Second thought Jack,
It does let me use the correct date,, however it always asks to update prices on every entry into the program,, if i do it skips entry date to 1/13/2007 then 1/20/2007/ and then 1/27/2007,, etc,, and at no time am I allowed to enter a trade after adding a security,,, always invalid date error,, you mentioned you have a Newport Y2k patch File,,, that file never appears for me when I run your Winport.exe or Nptsetup.exe file,, something is still missing and i'm not sure what,,, when i changed the date backwards to 2006,, entered every prce update,, it took 12/2006 weekly price updates as 02/2007 updates??? Something is still missing, thanks, Ken
Hi Jack
That fixed the problem, I deleted the old winport and loaded in the new one. Thanks, Ken
Newport Type Mismatch,
I reset my date on Newport to 1/6/1990 and it worked,, so I am missing the Y2K update patch,, the file Jack sent is not the correct one and does not create the Newport Y2K Patch file,,, keep trying Jack,, or anyone else,, I appreciate your help,, thanks, Ken
Hi Jack, Help
Send that Newport Patch to fbrd400@verizon.net, I'll let you know how it comes out, thanks Ken
Hi Mark,
I guess my ten day trial is up. I could not get past the registration code so I uninstalled it. I did have time to look at AI this time. I like it. You have a very good product. Thanks, Ken
Newport Help,
I still need help getting my Newport software to run on this machine. Thanks, Ken
Hi TooFuzzy,
That was a good post. Last I ever thought about it we owed $30,000 for every man ,woman, child, and infant in this country. Not to mention the unfunded $$$$ in years ahead as you mentioned pushes that figure way up. Take your pick, We pay it back( ha ha ha ha!), we have an eventual collapse, or we inflate or way out with double digit inflation to make the debt worthless. Ken
Correction patch
Seems there was a correction patch along the way somewhere. I am listening to Robert Lichello right now on tape 6. I don't have Bob's email to ask him, Ken
Sorry the material has a copyright.
For which I purchased a license to use from Newport, with a letter and number code to enter the program. Just looking for a little help, thanks Ken
Type Mismatch Error Newport
npt122.exe , I just installed with my new "a" disk floopy drive and I get type mismatch error,,, anyone have a correction patch? , help to fbrd400@verizon.net would be most apperciated, thanks, Ken
Hi Don,
Sorry the material has a copyright.
Hi Tom,
Best of luck with your surgery. My son had the worst case of Mono ever end of last summer and also did a 2 hr surgery 12/12/06 to correct some internal pains both GI tract and groin related. He missed first semester at Purdue, but will start up again next Monday. Surgery hurts and I hope yours is as pain free as they can make it. God bless ya Tom from all of us here on this board. Ken
Hi Tom,
I did get it at Amazon. I'm the nut that paid $75 for it. That's what Christmas gift money is for I guess. I'm listening to tape 1 as I write this and hearing Robert Lichello's voice for the first time. I had no idea this was ever available. For the rest of the board its the AIM Home Study Course. "A.I.M. For A Million" by Robert Lichello with 6 Audio tapes and 163 page Manual from 1986. It's near mint and complete. Tom help me post a pic here, thanks, Ken
Hi Aimster,
I just emailed those pics to Tom. You'd die laughing at how bad my digital photos are to send. I will share with all, Ken
Christmas Present,
Tom wait to you see the Christmas gift I got myself in the mail today. Its the ultimate AIM gift of all time! I will take pics and email you, Ken
Hi Aimster,
Yes it was Automatic Investor. I like it alot. AI is a very well written and comprehensive program. Ken
Hi Tom,
A good friend of mine and I have jumped into BPI Energy Holdings. I thought I might as well let AIM manage it. We tease each other all the time as I found Colonial Data Technology(CDT) years ago around 80 cents or so, I got out around $6, he got out in the $teens,, it hit $27 one day then fell to the teens and was bought out. He rides me all the time about finding our next CDT,,,,, we believe BPG is the next CDT so we are in. My thoughts on energy,,, well global warming is currently killing the heating markets right now, nat gas(BPG) and heating oil. I am very optimistic though long term on natural gas. The current glut in nat gas is all caused by global warming. Huge amounts of new drilling has kept US output only about steady to slight decline for 5 years now. This nat gas market is on big hurricane or 2 weeks of sub zero weather away from prices that will dwarf Katrina prices. So I'm long term bullish, but there are lots of short term pressures with this winter being so warm. Ken
Download,
I have since downloaded and I am in my 10 day free trial. Ken
Buy on BPG today,
Right out of the gate today with a buy on BPG(BPI Energy Holdings). Nothing like hitting the ground running for 2007. Looks like some of you posters had great 06's. We've been very conservative since early 3/06. BPG is currently my only AIM position. Looking to get back into more, probably indexing, and soon as interest rates seem to have stablized. Ken
Automatic Investor,
That is one program I do not have. I've got some extra xmas money, maybe I should just buy it. I've ordered a floppy drive so I can use Newport on this computer. I did the ten day trial with Automatic Investor, but i was too busy to evaluate it,,,, now it won't let me download again,,,, and of couse I have the time now. I do have and use the PCA program. Best to all in 2007. Aimster,, us too,, dated less than 1 year,, married over 25 yrs now,, good luck to Tom and his family today. Ken
Hi Tom, 3.5 Floppy Drive,
While running around today I'll stop at a used computer store and see if they have a 3.5 Drive with a USB cable. That sounds like a good solution. I have 2 other old puters around here and both run the Newport software,,, but I erased those hard drives(Stomp Soft Drive Washer) / re-loaded original restore cd's,, and now can use Newport,,,,, but I'd like to dumpster these and just use this one,, thanks to all for your ideas,, if i screw it up I may have you email me or PDAH copy for me,, thanks, Ken
Newport Software,
I have just recovered from my annual puter crash. Sometimes more than one ya know. This machine I use does not accept the old floppy/A/Disk that the Newport NPT122.exe file is on,,, sooooooooooooooo it won't copy either as its copyright protected,,, suggestions how to get Newport on to a CD disk for use on this machine please (emachine, windows-xp),,, thanks, Ken
Merry Christmas,
Merry Christmas to all on the board and best wishes($$$$$$) always, Ken
OT Cd's
Couldn't help but notice the spike in CD rates the last month or so around here. Banks are actually paying more for a longer maturity. Beginning of the end of the flat yield curve(slightly inverted)? As for the warm up Tom,,,,, all I did was buy a little natural gas stock,, BPI Energy Holdings,, and of course we have a big warm up coming next week,, if anyone could collapse the Nymex nat. gas price it would be my jinx! LOL! Ken
Sure glad its cold Tom
We need a nice dip below zero for awhile! I've started Aiming a little natural gas stock. Let's see if we can't get prices higher on the Nymex for gas.
