And the faith I can put in the answer given - more than what's posted on the forum? More than their PRs? I don't need to debate with them, they need to prove to their investors they have a going concern, improving bottom line, improving business prospects. Yes the PRs are promising, but only if actions are taken on them and only if those actions are verifiable via filings etc.
D -
But raising the A/S is a usual precurosor to raising the O/S, else why do it? In fact, there is no other logical reason I know of to do it. The amount and the fact it has not been disclosed / PR'd do not bode well for the long term investor.
There may be some flips left in the stock as you say (a penny here, a penny there which can add up nicely if you're willing to risk it) - that's the kind of stock they're turning themselves into I think, and that's not what many long term watchers here were waiting for in my opinion, me among them.
I'd like to be proven wong by HTRE in the near future.
D -
"will a win for Phoenix be a Phyrric victory or will we actually see some cash"
hopefully, it won't be what one hand giveth another takes away....whether that hand is the other lawsuits or PBLS management. At least until we can sell at a good price!
D
And with blue chip companies trading at near penny prices, there's probably now better gambles to be had on the NYSE than the pink sheets. Unless HTRE offers more, I will exit on the next blip up.
D -
Yes, an impressive list. I was impressed at the start and at the initial announcements. I hope they will bear fruit, but I'd like to see more than announcements on new agreements - we need to see what progress has been made on the old to believe the new. The pink sheets are full of stocks with such promises. If HTRE doesn't want to be viewed as another one, they need to pony up on the status of the past ones, show the work that's going on, progress if any being made within each of them. Otherwise, they will be viewed as a supplier of promises only. GLTY.
D -
The market and this board by the relative silence appears doubtful about this latest promised joint venture. Interesting but we'll see where we are when December ends, now that December is the new November. Sooner or later something material needs to happen for this stock to stop dithering about around a penny. This latest pr can be added to the energy drink, microsoft, etc prs of the past until HTRE makes it real with something meaty in their filings.
D -
Now there's an enigma. The amount bought back is a drop in the bucket of the outstanding shares, so why even bother? And for a company riddled with lawsuits, why toss away 16 thou (unless tossing away the money is the intent?). I don't see what this would significantly do to investor confidence beyond a cosmic HUH? But hey, less is the right direction, even if it's baby steps, baby steps...where's Bill Murray when we need him?
D -
No increase in spending in computer equipment since 2007? 750,000 dollars still owed to Ken in 2008 or additional shares need to be doled out to him?
D -
No problem, and sorry, I wasn't trying to be mean - life's too short for that.
D -
Brigunn,
Good luck to you as well. I've been in this stock more years than I can count, kicked myself a dozen times for not selling at 3 cents, and have gone through almost every emotion known to man, seen Roaches driven to overdosing on Dr. Pepper, learned that PBLS is not Forever, found that nothing is as insubstantial as cement, before finding solace in the gallows humor from a different swamp than where our boys are located, the gin-infused one in M*A*S*H. It's been quite the ride. I only bet what I could lose, but that doesn't really take the sting away from losing I've found. Hoping for one more pop, but from here, I would think that India stands a better chance of landing a rocket on the moon than PBLS going above a penny again. What's that? India landed a rocket on the moon? Okay, better chances of electing an African American to the White House than... The Tennessee Titans going 10 and 0 than ... ahh, the heck with it. If all that can happen, can't we get one little rise out of this stock?
D -
Brigunn,
"Fresh meat" - I won't stoop so to speak to the obvious pun as much as it would be good grist for the posters here.
Since PBLS is too low to sell, anything that remotely resembles "Herbert West: Re-Animator" on this stock is welcomed by me. Can you be somewhat less cryptic or has PBLS bought a herd of cattle, or a meat-packing plant (perhaps one formerly owned by O'Riley's buddies). Does this meat have legs and a pulse?
D -
This is one carcass I'd like to see the Roach pick clean...
Go Steelers! 10-9 win in one weird game.
D -
Shame we don't own a bank and could belly up to the billion dollar bar for tax payer handouts like everyone else... Is that glue from a dead horse I'm smelling?
D
I can understand concealing information until the time is right (or it helps insiders, not that that ever occurs!), but HTRE posting that news on their website is actually a bit bizarre to me. I would think that the posting on a website would come AFTER the PR in order to further fuel interest in the company, and then anyone who was on the website could reference the PR in order to make a determination to invest, pursue a franchise opportunity, etc. as the PR should legitimize the website posting to some degree. Doing the website first, and then not following up with a PR, is not only backward, but to me, suspicious. Anyone can post on a website (case in point, me right now). The web post ultimately means nothing without some verifiable data that legitimizes the post. And notice that posts on the webiste are not followed up with a Safe harbor statement, as none are required, since, well, blog away...
D
The market has been and continues to side with SSC on this debate, which is what ultimately matters. HTRE has made their press releases rather impotent through historical lack of follow though. That's not SSC's fault.
I would also like to hear some positive news rather than rumors of news. And it needs to be more than promises of what will be. The releases need to be about what has definitively occurred and is verifiable for credibility to be restored and investor confidence to return.
IMHO
D -
I've been wondering if Brigunn's cryptic religioso messages are alluding to just that or if I'm just dreaming that will happen...
D -
"PA should do what is right"
you're speaking about retiring, correct?
D -
You missed my favorite - offering business advice to others... There are other companies on the pinks with checkered pasts going into these business advisory sorts of areas - perhaps because all you need is a phone and an address?
D -
Wasn't the whole LD thing about payment of a debt in stock to PBLS? And that amount was not substantial if memory serves, and less proportionately substantial at 900 million authorized shares I would think.
But hey, if it breathes life into this corpse on halloween, I'm all for it.
D
yes, at these prices, a good flipping stock rather than a long term hold. I agree.
D -
Yes, if these were not redeemed, PBLS would have needed to change the name to "Defuncte Harbor" and turned the condos into poor houses for PBLS investors. So there's signs of breathing, but let's keep an eye out to be sure it's not artificial respiration...
D -
A shareholders meeting should be a good sign. But, as we all know, good news has a way of getting out before folks like us hear about it, and the stock would rise as a result. If LTHU keeps trending down ahead of the shareholders meeting, well, I'd be betting the old battery has run out of juice.
D
As the Dow tumbles, maybe PBLS will benefit from the flight to quality...
D -
2 mill in trades, up two cents, no news posted? Anyone hear a rumor?
D
supporter,
I didn't have any of my own expectations as an investor that 8 stores would be opened in 08 - it took a PR from HTRE to create that expectation. It's a bit disingenuous to blame the investors for being impatient about a PR HTRE put out, a claim they made, but failed thus far to deliver on or provide an update for. Investors are in their rights to be "impatient" on this point, and HTRE owes an explanation - not on a meassage board, not in a forum, but in a PR in my opinion.
D
Scopeman,
Though the gaming concept is somewhat unchartered territory in regard to its tie-in to a restaurant concept, the opening of and the maintaining of a restaurant may be the second oldest profession. So the recently announced HTRE team should have been able to turn the restaurant and franchising concept around in my opinion faster than the gaming side, but there doesn't seem to be much strength in HTRE management on that side, certainly little is being delivered. While our CTO seems to be on the ball, there's still a resounding silence on all other quarters. I'd love to eat crow on this at any number of HTRE restaurants soon if they were they to open in 08 as previously announced. But today's news has to be taken in light of the fact that one of the two restaurants listed in today's PR still appears to be closed, limiting the confidence in the investors that much is to be gained from being able to have gamers play Beta versions of games if the shops themselves are limited to one.
I'm giving HTRE some cautious optimism based on Edelson. Optimism is for Edelson, caution is for the other members of the management team who have yet to prove their worth.
D -
Per my response to Mulshine, I'm now off the PBLS email distribution list. Gee, how will I get their regular offering of informative updates in the future? I guess I'll have to rely on the more reliable "Roach power" from now on.
D -
Amazing - I received an email from Mike Mulshine exhorting everyone to check out a link revealing the left leaning Obama. Here's my reply to Mike - anyone else receive this drivel? I didn't include the links since I didn't want to aid and abet any damage he's trying to perpetrate on Obama (regardless of my political stance, aiding Mulshine is the last thing I want to do):
Mike,
You have got to be kidding me. You worked as the transfer agent for a company that at best misled investors such as me in PRs, the number of outstanding shares and the direction the share count was taking. There's no word from this company in ages as lawsuit after lawsuit hits the table, and yet you send me some rag comments on Obama being left leaning? Take me off your list for this nonsense and the PBLS distribution list if you still manage such things. Please don't ever clutter my inbox again with any of this drivel. Do some work for a change.

my profound (if indeed it aspires to that) silence has more to do with the lack of anything meaningful to discuss. I neither will add chatter propping up the current management or add chatter slandering them. The PPS right now is doing all the talking for me.

Here's what PBLS' 2500 dollars got them with their sponsorship - wouldn't cradfest have been cheaper? Wonder if the rise in PPS a while ago was to pay for the sponsorship...

Thanks for posting Roach.

I'm speaking more in terms of providing current information to pink sheets, including A/S and O/S. I wasnt' considering PRs per se, and would agree fluff PRs are as bad a signal as no information at all - perhaps even worse as that would signal to me a manipulative mode of business.
D -
in regards to transparency, for HTRE, it isn't now what it was a short while ago, and that's going in the wrong direction. yes, pink sheet stocks are a gamble, yes, they don't need to play by all sorts of rules, etc, but they earlier professed and made strides in the direction of greater transparency which now they've back-tracked on. That's a problem. The cause of that problem could be for all sorts of reasons - management change is one, but so is being fast and loose with investor dollars. There are hosts of possible causes in between those two as well. So there's justification to be worried about HTRE's current silence in these matters and what appears to be lack of interest in addressing them. It would be foolish not to be.
D -
maybe that's what the 24 million shares sold were for...
D -
No wonder there's a whole festivus named after you!
It's been so long now, I can't remember, but couldn't PBLS go as high as 4 billion after pushing a little paperwork? Don't answer, actually, I finally reached the point of forgetting much about this stock and don't want any of those repressed memories to return.
D -
Rally,
here's a math word problem:
If 24 million shares dumped causes a 25% rise in price, how many more shares must PBLS dump to get us back to price of .01?
I too am hanging on for that 1 in 3 billion chance of a run after the lawsuit. But at these rates, the price of fueling that rise are pretty steep....
D
More polish concrete in the offing now that pbls is putting out 24 million more shares?
D -
Yes on all counts.
unfortunately, the buyers are saying by their absence that they are not impressed. I would agree that Edelson is active, but we need far more from the management team than promises of future revenue and growth. The news today is encouraging, but is being viewed as fluff, as there are a number of such announcements in the past with no later follow through. The market seems to be expecting that to happen again by the response we've seen thus far.
