Bear rally or are the bulls going to take this up to 9k?
IBM broke $100! Nice.
That doesn't matter. You won't find many workers out there on various levels that didn't get even meager bonuses due to the actions of department heads.
I see his point. But he's not living in reality. His attitude is exactly what put Obama in office and if fueling socialism today. Reading his note, you can tell he has the same sense of entitlement to cash the way we see with at least some wellfare recipients.
Lot's of people are suffering that don't have the means to walk away by their own power as Jake apparently has.
I'm off my soap box now. I promise! LOL! In for another roller coaster day, it seems.
I see where Jake DeSantis is coming from. He's speaking from the point of view that AIG did not need a government bailout to survive, salaries and bonuses were in line with what the free market could bare, and he's aggravated now that the new owners of AIG (tax payers) want to change his contract. He's pissed and I don't blame him. But he's got to open his eyes now.
IBM cut the salaries of about 8000 employees by 15% because they were reclassed to non-exempt status elgible for over time due to legal reasons. The stock did well over that! IBM claims it did so to keep salaries in line with the competition, etc. IBM posted record revenue and did not need Federal bailout money.
So you guys tell me. Who should be pissed off the most? LOL! Jake can kiss my tax paying ass. It's that type of decision making that fuels the want for socialism and breaks capitalism. I'm a die hard capitalist and think AIG should have failed to begin with. Then Jake may not have gotten a bonus at all. Screw him. I'm all for people making as much as possible... that which the free market can bare. Whether it's 50k per year or 200 million per year. To hear his whine, you'd think unemployment was low and foreclosures were at the lowest rate in 2 decades.
I had to vent because I see this from an entirely different viewpoint.
I guess I didn't follow your strategy with that one. You bought puts when the DOW was up today? We had almost a 300 pt swing if you bought at the top and rode the puts to today's low.
If that was the case, Nice!
Good luck! I just see a lot of pumping going on and expect the DOW to get into the 8k's before falling back. IMO, of course.
DIA April calls in the 9k range are moving a bit. I have .DAVDP (94 calls).
I'm not so optimistic it will get there but close enough to make a profit. However, they are moving as of Monday this week so might be worth a look. A couple hundred buys a nice sized lottery, IMO.
Thoughts?
Dr. Mensa was so scared of Rufus, he filed a counter suit against Rufus. LOL!
Neither Rufus's or Dr. Mensa's suits were followed up on. I think Dr. Mensa was calling Rufus's bluff and giving him the finger at the same time.
Rufus's filing against Dr. Mensa was for show and nothing else. It's only 25 bucks to open a case against someone (at least for a dispo which I've done before). Cheap way to convey credibility.
If only we could be just as outraged at representatives getting pensions better than that of most CEO's and small business owners. And, hold those same representatives to the standards we'd hold private businesses (just the ones now owned by tax payers).
Though it is good to expose some of these exec's wanting capitalism to stay alive, yet expect and pull salaries that capitalism can't even support. Capitalism all the way but follow the rules that capitalism needs to survive which is the simple laws of supply and demand.
I just want the DOW to bounce above 8k before my April DIA calls expire. LOL!
15$ came from Rufus and an 8k. DD big board stocks regarding their prices today for an answer to the rest of your questions.
IPO's mean nothing based on opening price. It boils down to what the Market is willing to pay. See V and IPI for examples.
Darn. I'm travelling today and tomorrow. I'll have to see if I got one on Wednesday. LOL! Go figure. Must be part of Rufus's plan.
Speaking of which... what kind of nonsense is Rufus saying now days? I haven't seen anything from him in months.
One case at at time. Good that Madoff is going to jail, right? That's one for the SEC... after 10 years. Some get away, some don't. Rufus didn't get away with the money, as far as we know but he's living off something. Done deal, as far as he's concerned. His integrity is worthless to the market and that's all that matters now.
As for the short selling... you made an incorrect leap from the SEC finding very little shorting of the stock to "NSS." Rufus claimed the NSS. No one else could show that's the case. However, legal shorting was found. Who cares? Lot's of people are shorting the DOW now days. A lot more than whom shorted CSHD. Rufus lied about everything else... he probably lied about the OS and a few folks that may have bought worthless notes. Oh yeah, those folks that never got a cent back.
Yes sir!

Earlier, I would have said it may fall back to the high $70's but after today's rally, it may want to get back to the $90's instead.
Anyone else feeling a bit more optimistic about stocks going bullish?
I only have the stock though. No options outside of my April OTM DIA calls. LOL! I'm still not sure I'm smart enough to trade options in this market so the sidelines I'll stay a bit.
IMO, the government WILL PASS the banks on the Stress Test. IF the government thinks otherwise, they'll just put more money in the banks. But we are witnessing a market pump initiative at the moment. IMO, we are going to have some great shorting op's in about a month or so.
I think I gave myself enough time to get the DOW above 8200 in enough time to make some money from here. I'll see what happens over the next two weeks.
I don't believe the DOW will be in the 9k's until close to the end of summer. I'm thinking there's going to be some market pumping for the short term though.
IMO, of course!
LOL!
Would have been nice to sell everything long back when the DOW was 14k and start buying cautiously now.
However, I'm hearing horror stories about people bailing NOW. Hell, for my retirement accounts, I'm buying, buying, buying. And I hope it falls more so I can buy more with my money. IBM and VFC are good ones, IMO. Both are cash rich and the upside looks great.
I am stepping back in options now after a long sit out period. I'm not smart enough to KNOW I'll win so I bought some April $94 DIA calls last week for very little money to see what happens (DAVDP).

LOL! You're right. Unless you're talking about penny stocks. Then when the price is going down, it's ONLY because of evil market makers and not front loaders (officers) dumping. Hehehe
Been out of the market but thinking it might be time to jump on some DIA calls 3 or 4 months out.
Ford announced today that their sales seem to be stablizing. IMO, jobless claims will begin to soften.
For the longs, IBM has been making higher highs and higher lows since December.
Thoughts?

IMO, go long IBM:
http://www.tgdaily.com/content/view/40911/122/
I think it will see good numbers in it's earnings coming up and couple that with a 4% cut in head count, back over $90, IMO.
Yeah, he likes to post that he was in the know AFTER the news is public.
Kinda like his CSHD stock. LOL!
For the life of me, I can't understand why anyone would play earnings. The only one I remember that turned out really good was GOOG when Optionsmonster played it and walked with some nice coin.
GOOG gapped up $90 from the previous close to do that though. LOL!
Talk about a trap. God help anyone that bought contracts the day of/before earnings. Immediate 50% cut in value most the time, IMO.
Wow. IBM is now higher than AAPL.
IMO, look for IBM to beat and the rumor is that IBM is going to lay off a lot of people globally this month.

Absolutely. The Fed is diluting our currency like a POS pink sheet CEO does to their own stock. LOL!
I've never really understood why low energy prices hurts a market though. I understand how high gas prices raise prices on everything else with shipping, etc. Seems like lower energy prices help profits, thus the market. What am I missing?
I'm wondering how long it will be before oil goes back up. If it's down due to the recession, it cold be held down for at least 1.5 years and OPEC isn't going to keep letting their revenue decline by cutting output when speculators control the price for the most part.
In 1.5 years there's going to be a lot more fuel efficient cars on the road and a lot of gas guzzlers adding fewer and fewer miles.
An OPEC member saw a revenue decrease from $130+ to now less than $40 per unit. That's $90 million in lessoning revenue. How many millions more of units would any members be willing to cut even when the price is so low? I think that's one of their biggest obstacles when they can't agree on cuts. Which member's taking a bath this month? LOL!
The Middle East better find a new avenue for revenue within the next 10 years, IMO. Or the U.S. better increase security because when the Saudi's can't afford all those palaces, they'll blame it on us and send some suicide bomber idiots our way.
Interesting. But on part 4, they started talking about the Amero and concentration camps for unruly citizens. That kinda took the credibility out of the series, IMO.
Here's the company that stamps and sells the Amero coins for nothing more than collecting:
http://www.dc-coin.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWCATS&Category=8
I'm not sure it matters very much about replacing the U.S. currency though. It stopped being what it was meant to be when we were taken off the gold standard and giving full control to the Fed. Interestingly enough, 3 countries in the EU decided not to replace their currency with the Euro yet still accept Euros as payment much like our ability to use Canadian pennies and dimes in the U.S.: http://www.pbs.org/newshour/extra/features/jan-june02/eurocountries.html
As for stateside concentration camps, I can't see that ever happening. However, I did buy a gun after Obama won before his team increases taxes on handguns/ammo beyond affordability. LOL!
There was a lot of good opinion in the interviews though and had a lot of insite! Thanks! I'd just like to get the mark of the beast implanted in my forehead and be done with all this. LOL!
This post is not unique for this stock for the last 2 years. Now we're on year 3 and hearing the same b.s.? LOL!
I can see it now...
The day after 2020, Rufus is still posting "just watch what's in store NOW." This will be the year.
Unfortunately, the Mayan calendar doesn't go past 2012.
Actually, it does. Go into a store and "try" to shop lift. IF/when you get caught, try convincing the store or officer that simply "trying" to shop lift doesn't make you guilty. Terrorists today get arrested and sent to GITMO after they are caught "trying" to execute a plan to blow up people.
I am astounded that no criminal charges have been brought, though.
Doesn't matter. Interestingly enough, Rufus promised the 6 for 1 stock divy before even filing to increase the A/S to accommodate the additional dilution... errrr... I mean shares.
I think the last 10k said the A/S was 100 million. The O/S was around 70 million. Going on memory here.
LOL! Where have ya been?
http://cagholdings.com/_mgxroot/page_executives.html
I don't know if this scam has ever started but I was made aware of this back in October of this year.
I guess Oil workers in the mideast can justify some time off for Christmas. LOL! They can call it whatever they want. Hehehe
Optionsxpress has no minimum and they have a good platform.
IBM - Up tomorrow AM only to close red, IMO. Looking at IBM puts now.
Why isn't the DOW in the 7k's yet?
Ford isn't in trouble the way GM is. I think they were holding their hand out hoping. But they'll be just fine.
Ford just has way too many shares out on the market. Might be a good hold of just the stock because after this mess clears, they may consider a share buy back so that if need be, they can issue shares for capital if they get in a cash crunch.
Just speculation on my part.
Yup. The stock stereo had a display that you could read from another car 100 yards off. LOL! That'll tell you what their demographics are.
How bout that DOW? I'm starting to think that the base is in the 7500 range... if we even drop that low. Prices are so depressed all around, not much room to drop further before bargain hunters start buying again.
Yeah, my wife and friends make fun of me. I have a real problem spending a lot of money on cars. My wife is another story. LOL!
The new Lucerne looks really good, IMO. Hehehe
I just looked it up and it sure is. I actually have a Buick myself. I'm going to get a new car in a few months, reluctantly. I put well over a 100k miles on it and it still drives great. Also, it's the easiest car to work on since most of the wear parts are on top. I can change the serpentine belt in 10 minutes without even a torque wrench.
Wow. Amazing what they can do on their own, eh? LOL! Where was this 5 years ago? 6 months ago?
I just hope that GM keeps the Saturn and Buick Brands, as well as their trucks. The trucks are always good and Saturn/Buick brands are looking much better.
What???

Things have been pretty good. Gearing up for xmas and all that goes with it.
I'm not trading much either. This market is not the easiest to predict so at the moment I'm systematically buying IBM stock.
