Do we have any idea or way to find out how sales in Germany are going other than directly from Amarin itself (if they ever choose to tell us such information)?
I was hoping you came across something in you immense research. :)
Hoghead - Any info on Groton? Are we going to make the deadline to fix the issue, or will we need to be granted an extension? I feel if either of those happen, there will be a press release. Also feel for whatever reason that if neither happens and the VERY slim chance of the project being canceled (which I cannot fathom this far into it), we won’t hear anything about it until the next earnings conference call. Hopefully the deadline will be met and it will be in operation by Monday.
Yes, typo. Am using my phone and didn’t have my reading glasses on… should say “our” not “out”. My bad.
FCEL built and sold the plant to Dominion. About 5 years later, Dominion was needing funds for the acquisition of another small utility and decided to sell the plant to raise those funds. FCEL at that time had decided to own some of their projects to habe a steady stream of money coming in (what became their “generation portfolio”), so they decided to bid on the project and buy it back. That is what happened. They got bad funding for it under their previous CEO, but all that has been taken care of and paid off with better financing that they then paid off entirely selling share ATM during the runup late last year.
Bridgeport is in out current generation portfolio bringing in money daily. And the KOSPO one (like all other projects) will have module replacements every 5-7 years, which brings in money when they happen.
No… you are confusing KOSPO with POSCO. The sale to KOSPO was done after we terminated the exclusive contract with POSCO before this round of litigation had started.
And here is another for you… this was an outright sale, as opposed to Bridgeport, which is in our operating portfolio (projects we own under our generation portfolio).

OT: Anybody see what AMC has done in the last 45 minutes? Wonder if the Reddit group decided to go “all-in” again?
I seriously doubt we will return to highs of the day this afternoon unless the Senate reaches a deal on raising the debt limit and avoiding a government shutdown by then. Things will be negative overall until that happens, except for any company-specific news.
Interesting… you are saying the FDA is not corrupt at all. While I would like to believe the FDA is not corrupt at all, there is a slight chance it is a little corrupt.
I saw that yesterday (though slightly different) and had to share it on Facebook. You should check that version out. There is definitely a certain section of humanity that I need to follow that advice with. They tend to wear red hats.
It is a shame that such “trickle down” aspects occur since we all know that in reality, the theory of “trickle down economics” is a farce and does not actually occur.
Okay, thank you for that info!
So what world news did I miss this weekend that is causing the markets to tank in the pre-market?
FALSE information does NOT constitute “an excellent must-read post” summarizing an article by a well-known short-seller who always has a negative article within 48 hours of positive news. Here are the FACTS:
1) Navy must simply extend the contract if it isn’t completed by Oct 18th. While there is no guarantee they will, why would they not this close to completion? There is NOTHING that indicates they “WILL” cancel the whole project if that deadline isn’t met.
2) The selling of the shares enabled the company to pay down lots of high-interest debt, which has greatly enhanced the financial flexibility of the company to market and win new contracts and work on projects currently in progress without having to worry about having their hands tied by making exorbitant interest payments on those loans. This has put the company in a much better financial position overall, and even notorious bear/short-seller Henrik Alex admitted to this in his “article”/opinion piece.
As Kevin Bacon said in “A Few Good Men”: “These are the facts of the case, and they are undisputed.”
Yes… he posted multiple times that FCEL would only end up in bankruptcy and there was no way out of it.
Yes, he does it for the whole sector… but EVERY article has a negative spin to it, no matter what company in the sector. That is what makes me think he is paid by a hedge fund heavily invested in fossil fuel companies or, maybe, solar companies.
Thank you for the summary, as I refuse to click on anything he writes. Without fail, whenever FCEL releases good news, he has a hit piece out within 48 hrs. I messaged Hoghead after our earnings came out saying he would have one out right away. I want to know who is paying him under the table to do it.
Just as I predicted, Henrik Alex out with a hit liece on Seeking Alpha.
I would also like them to indicate how many module replacements they anticipate for the coming quarter… that way, if the current quarter is expected to have fewer replacements than the quarter they are reporting on, investors can expect a decline in those revenues and not be caught off guard, hitting the share price hard, when it happens.
I am 99.8% sure such an extension would be granted IF NEEDED. But since it had material intrinsic value. Such a statement would have to be mentioned or would open up to potential lawsuits on the minute chance it is not granted. Based on past reports, what about this report did you find “underwhelming”?
My pleasure!
4th quarter revenue will be boosted bu the sale-leaseback of the San Bernardino project. However, there will probably be fewer module replacements, which boosted this quarter’s revenue. I wish Fuel Cell would start reporting the expected module replacements for the next quarter during each quarter’s conference call. Would give everyone a better idea of what to expect from them the following earnings reports.
For anyone able to listen to the conference call, can you please provide a summary after? I probably won’t get to read the transcript until after my son’s soccer practice tonight.
This definitely has the feel of panicked shorts trying to cover while crapping their pants!
It has to do with options tradings. This explains it better than I can.

I am curious what Henrik Alex will say in his hit piece on Seeking Alpha tomorrow that he is probably just starting to pen right now. Not that I will waste my time or give him a click. But we ALL know it is coming. It is his mantra and I wish I knew who paid him to do it each time. He is to alternative energy what Adam Feuerstein is to biotechs, just with a bit less of a platform.
Good call, my friend, good call! If this is what a beatdown is like, I’ll gladly take one every day! Would you like to reassess your prediction?
Looks like the street loves the news… not that I have seen it yet. Time for a bathroom break at work so I can look more thoroughly and read them!
Earnings are usually out much earlier than this… I wonder (and this is personal speculation) if there will be two press releases this morning, with the other being major project news (Groton completed, new project award, other two LIPA projects moving forward, Toyota, or a new extended agreement with ExxonMobil)???
We’ll have to see who is right. Granted, I DID say that if the sale-leaseback is on this quarter, then that aspect will hit on the next report. However, we DID add that San Bernardino project this past quarter to the generation revenue AND there should not have been downtime at Bridgeport for module replacement, so this report should be a decent improvement over the last one. Too many people just look at the numbers for this stock, rather than the WHY for the numbers.
Well, the best way you can help me is sending me some of your mojo.
Ended up selling my 100 shares of SFT which hadn’t been doing much and bought 147 of FCEL… I bought the SFT with a small part of my proceeds when I sold some FCEL in the upper teens or lower $20s a while back during the huge run.
Trying to think of what I should sell to “back up the truck” before earnings. I think we will have a nice rebound next week… with the “sale-leaseback”, a beat should be in order… unless that wasn’t on the books until the current quarter, in which case its even better for the next earnings report.
Okay, thank you for the info!
Did I miss seeing the scripts or have they not been posted? I glanced like 3 times.
Thank you… looks okay overall. Question (and maybe it has been asked before)… once we launch in Europe, will you have access to the script numbers from over there?
