Funny how the most monumentally clueless are the ones with the most negative things to say.

If savings on install labor and parts can net me $1000 on a job that I would othrwise make $2000 on you can bet that it is not zip or zero as postulated by other posters.
Some facts about solar costs can be found here:
Financing, Overhead, and Profit: An In-Depth Discussion of Costs Associated with Third-Party Financing of Residential and Commercial Photovoltaic Systems David Feldman, Barry Friedman, and Robert Margolis National Renewable Energy Laboratory
If you go through the numbers it looks like install materials and labor are .44. And .74 of a total cost of 4.52. That comes yo about 26%. Overall margins appear to be in the 10% range. From experience I can tell you that when you run on tight margins like this every percentage point is big.
Conclusion of study done by Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, under "SunShot" program US Department of Energy.
" it's vital to cut the cost of installation labor."
The SunShot program has lots of information on the past and future of solar in America. Over and over they conclude that reducing the soft costs of solar is the near term future.
The last one out turn off the lights. That is if the power company hasn't done it first.
today's short volume was over 49%. Should be interesting to see how this plays out.
Here, let me re post some of your more recent pearls of wisdom so that everyone remembers you.
"Chan should be fired for the following reasons:
1) He has history of screwing shareholders (suntech).
2) He clearly has no idea how the company needs to be run. Hiring Kwok Wei is only a fact that supports this statement.
3) Kwok was hired as a Chief Operating Officer. Terrible move which will inevitably lead to more dilution and higher costs of operation. (ie bigger losses).
4) Chan ought to hire a MARKTING SPECIALIST (sales rep) to get the stuff out there and not another high salaried buddy of his.
5) Signing the lasted 10-Q is a criminal offence. He obviously doesn't understand what a NET PROFIT is. Perhaps he thinks the Chinese government will bail andalay solar? ooops, but west isn't Chinese (yet?)...heheh
Bottom line:
Every one of you can go onto amazon and click "buy now". I bet none on this board have done so. I for sure will not, because it's a rip off... truth is all investors will agree deep inside (whether they want to or not). Truth hurts, but it should be a lesson on how not to lose your hard earned money sponsoring crooks."
What is Andalay racking and connecting worth to a partner? It's not complicated. The installer saves a certain amount of money by using it. Parts, man-hours, tooling, training, pay-grade of installer, to name a few. The partner can charge a fraction of that savings more for the upgraded Andalay ready panel than a panel without it. After costs, Andalay gets a fraction of that upgrade charge.
Andalay's system is a mature system, not a prototype or pilot run. They have years of marketing experience, materials, and techniques to share. They have sales and installation training materials. They know what works and what doesn't and can pass that on to the partner. The partner gets fast-tracked on manufacturing and sales, thus saving money up front and becoming profitable quicker.
50MW initial capacity. That's 200,000 panels per year in the first year! Based on a little knowledge and some educated guessing that is about the same profit as selling $16,000,000 of Andalay panels. (figuring $5 royalty per panel, 10% gross profit on direct sales. I am at least in the right order of magnitude I think.
It looks like a single transaction at 16:19:46.
A sell is always a buy and a buy is always a sell.
We had almost 12 million shorted Friday. I think they were hoping for a little better day.
It looks like it was a single buyer
2 days of boasting followed by 2 minutes of grunting. I feel oddly unfulfilled.
Looks like the only thing being exposed is you
he thinks he is some kind of big shot. pathetic
You could fly into McCarran and play a little before the long hot drive.
Expect a little more volatility.
What I see is a lot of activity pushing this stock up starting
Monday.
nice
No telling. They seem to be unable to follow through. They took on a lot of debt based on a future that has not materialized. They appear to not be in control of their future at this point, if they ever were. I would like to talk to plant operators or a foreman. They would be able to tell us a lot.
looking at the chart I would say 0 is possible
It's going to be a lot easier to close more deals with Hyundai as a partner.
We are GLOBAL!
An upfront payment and a per piece fee is common in these cases. It is a small fee, but is essentially all profit. These big companies sell millions of panels. This will help establish Andalay panels as the standard of the industry. Andalay's sales of there own panels will increase because of it. It's good piled on good.
That's beat up man
not for pro bono research
I peeked in every knot hole and looked under every door. I wish I could bill for my time on this one. It has become an obsession.
now that I think of it, I would like to bill for your time and MadMonster's time too.
The circus has come to town. Put your wallet in your front pocket.
indeed
What others?
BOLD AND CAPS! YOU MUST BE SERIOUS
Hyundai surprised me a little. They are not the only one. I'll let Mad share with the board if he wants.
They have played this close to the vest so far. I expect them to announce the other big partnership at a calculated time. Not Westinghouse, but a very big one.
You need to believe, man.
You know, faith.
perhaps yes
perhaps no
10 mil or a little higher should be doable. The addition of license and partnership fees will skew the price per earnings because this money will be very high margin.
You may be surprised
