Is Marijuana Prohibition Coming to an End
By J. Phillip -
May 30, 2018
Marijuana legislation has remained quite a sensitive issue for some time now as proponents and opponents fight from the government standpoint. Many reports have come out showing the massive amount of support from the industry and the public, which has helped to change the perception of cannabis around the world. A new bill has been sponsored by the senator of Oregon Jeff Merkley known as the Marijuana Justice Act, which would effectively make marijuana decriminalized from the federal level.
The bill pushed forth by Senator Cory Booker has seen a large amount of support from the public and looks as though it could potentially be pushed through. Merkley has been one of the most prolific proponents of the cannabis industry and his move to support this bill only furthers the support he has pledged.
Merkley stated recently that “More than half of the United States has enacted legislation allowing for either medical or adult-use of cannabis, yet federal law remains in conflict,” said Senator Merkley. “This creates significant problems, not only with the prosecution of nonviolent cannabis crimes — which disproportionately hurts people of color — but also with lack of banking services for legally operating businesses. As long as financial institutions aren’t able to service cannabis enterprises, these businesses are forced to operate in an all-cash environment that’s unsafe and lacks accountability. This bill would place cannabis legalization in the hands of states — exactly where it should be.” It is extremely clear that this is the opinion of the public, and the lacking support from some of the federal government is in clear opposition with the popular opinion of the people in the U.S.
Senator Booker stated a similar sentiment earlier in the week by stating that “I’m thrilled that Senator Merkley is joining our effort to make our criminal justice system more consistent with the words inscribed above our Supreme Court – equal justice under the law. The War on Drugs has been a war on people – and most often people of color and low-income individuals,” said Senator Booker. He continued to state that “I have seen firsthand the ways these policies have harmed neighborhoods, and I know that far too many innocent people in low-income communities and communities of color are having their futures destroyed by the disproportionate enforcement of these laws. It’s time for us to abandon the destructive federal prohibition of marijuana and focus our energy on righting the wrongs of the War on Drugs and prioritizing public safety and human potential.”
The amount of conflict surrounding the cannabis industry has no business changing the fate of the industry. When weighing the pros and cons, it is clear that the marijuana industry could have a large benefit on the whole of the country in terms of the happiness of the people as well as the potential tax benefits for the national government. Merkley is the fifth Senator in the government to cosponsor the bill, which means that there is a growing amount of support throughout the federal level.
The cannabis industry is very new and continues to change the culture and preconceptions of the country. With a growing amount of legislative support throughout the government, there remains a large amount of potential for the industry to continue growing in size and power. The hopes are high that the next coming years will be instrumental for the industry to reach its full potential. Only time will tell how this changing sentiment will physically and idealistically change the whole of the market for the foreseeable future. HMPQ ROCKET TIME SOON

HempAmerica Lawyers have been working on it for months now but there is a lot of corruption on the OTC colluding with MM's etc. I don't think it will last much longer, when they have accumulated enough shares they will let it run. Let's hope the legal team can get it done before that and they get caught with there pants down. My sentiments are this will be at 0.10 + buy end of summer. GLTAL HMPQ "ROCKET TIME"
The real buying and using of CBD oil hasn't even started yet, we are only at the tip of the iceberg, soon all Hemp and MJ will be legal and more and more proof of the medical benefits come to light. According to polls, American support for marijuana legislation is now at an all-time high. The prospective profits that could be produced in this industry have had many scurrying to find ways to get a piece of the pie, including investing in legal marijuana stocks.
Even former boxing champion Mike Tyson is interested in the riches the industry is promising as he is opening a 40-acre marijuana farm in California. The industry is poised for continued growth as more states work on legislation. So far 29 states already allow medicinal marijuana while 8 states allow it for recreational use. Canada is on its way to legalizing the drug recreationally this July.

7-Eleven signs deal to carry CBD products in stores nationwide
Published 8 hours ago | By Hemp Industry Daily staff
One of the nation’s best-known convenience store chains, 7-Eleven, plans to offer CBD products to roughly 4,500 locations across the United States by the end of 2018.
“This confirms our belief that CBD’s status as a mainstream wellness option has arrived,”
Here’s what you need to know:
The 7-Eleven rollout will begin in places that have legalized recreational or medical marijuana – California, Colorado, Florida, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Nevada and Washington DC – and are considered friendly territory for cannabidiol retailing.
The CBD products are derived from hemp, not marijuana.
For CBD producers, convenience stores represent an enormous new market.
Roughly 155,000 convenience stores operated in the United States in 2017 compared with only about 43,000 drug stores, according to the Virginia-based National Association of Convenience Stores.
Distributing CBD in 7-Eleven stores will “address the growing consumer demand for effective, safe CBD-based products that can now be easily sourced over the counter,” said Blake Patterson, president of MarketHub Retail Services. HMPQ "ROCKET TIME" SOON!

More and more major news stories concerning CBD oil hit the general media. Last night Dateline ran a story touting the use of CBD oil, it showed many medical uses in effect and others being studied by some of the best scientist in the field of Bio-Technology. There were excerpts of children who were long time sufferers of Parkinson's disease who had total depilating seizures daily, there life's on the line every day, not being helped by traditional medicine. Once the parents got them on MJ CBD oil the change was dramatic. The seizures were down by almost 70% and the children were able to communicate cognitively once again with them. It was very dramatic and heartwarming, to see these children come back to a normalization in their life, all because of MJ CBD oil.
We have only scratched the surface say scientist, of what MJ/Hemp oil (CBD) can do medically for people all over the world. Studies are being done world wide. More and more proof comes out every day concerning the positive effects of CBD oil. There is no question about it's effect on the Opioid epidemic threw out this country. The door is wide open now for legalization.
Here in New York City Mayor DeBlazio has ordered no more arrest for smoking MJ in the street and totallegalization of MJ within seven days (that's a big WOW) We are living in exciting times. The ultra right wing conservatives can not hold back the tide much longer. 90% of the population wants some kind of MJ/Hemp reform and legalization. To all this you add the tax revenue it brings to the States and the Feds and you have the perfect storm for reform. We longs are here from the bottom of what will become an epic rise to the top. I have not sold one share of MJTK since 2017 and I will not sell until we see George Washington, Abraham Lincoln and beyond. Best of luck to al my fellow longs and to any new investors. With revenue of $5.8 billion-$6.6 billion, sales of legal recreational and medical cannabis in the United States in 2017 topped those of Oreos and organic produce combined.
The data – published in the newly released Marijuana Business Factbook – illustrates how quickly the legal U.S. marijuana industry has grown.
It now rivals Americans’ collective spending on Netflix subscriptions – and will likely surpass McDonald’s annual U.S. revenue now that California’s massive new legal industry is getting off the ground.
By the end of 2019, sales of legal cannabis in the United States could overtake those of firearms and ammunition, an industry with a huge amount of influence on Capitol Hill.
Continued growth in mature medical and recreational markets, legalization in new states and further development of recently launched MMJ and rec industries will be the primary drivers of growth for the U.S. marijuana industry over the coming years.
But legal sales represent just a fraction of the estimated total potential demand for cannabis in the United States, which is around $50 billion-$55 billion, including black-market demand. This is how much revenue the industry could generate if the federal government legalized marijuana nationwide.
Relative to more traditional goods like cigarettes and beer, sales of cannabis on an annual basis are quite small.
The marijuana industry, however, is on a very different growth trajectory than cigarettes and beer, with legal sales expected to grow more than 200% from 2017 to 2022.
This has caught the attention of alcohol and tobacco companies, as two major players from these industries – Constellation Brands and Alliance One International – recently made significant moves into the cannabis space.
Though marijuana’s status as a federally illegal substance creates uncertainty in the short term and will likely keep most mainstream companies on the sidelines, the tremendous potential for growth means the long-term outlook for the U.S. cannabis industry is bright.
