JLS, oh boy. Not exactly what I was expecting to hear, but I share your opinion. I can't explain or understand what is going on here with this pull back which has been going on for at least 10 days. All the news etc has been good, but in spite of that we slide. I'm down 0ver 10%. I am down more money than I dreamed I would be and just about at the limit of my risk assessment. I struggle to decide to hang in or to sell out and take my losses, I have another stock that seems to be making some headway again, but it's risky too.
On another note, I am currently down 10.5%. Stock performance over the past 10 days or so has not been very encouraging and very frustrating. In spite of all of the good news, target prices, business analysis which is predomi9nantly pro AMD we continue to slide. I see we slipped just under 30 this morning, I think it was the second time within a week.
JLS, I don't pretend to have an in depth knowledge of this subject, my approach is based on an examination of how many gamers and others are out there buying equipment that are enhanced by advanced chips, of which I firmly think the 7nm chip will demonstrate more than a marginal advantage over the 10 nm and 14 nm chips. Whereas I think the case can easily be made that the video, graphics, VR etc end users number in the hunfreds of millions world wide, I very much doubt that there is anywhere near that number of users trying to mine bit coiun etc.
Really? Do you think the graphics card market is driven by crypto miners? Please that is not credible on it's face. No it's the gamers and others with hi performance graphics demand, apps in AI and VR. AMD has the 7nm chips and Nvidia does not. Interesting article though. Thanks for sharing. But personally, I do not agree with what it is saying.
AMD must not like me. If I watch the LII the pps goes down, if I ignore it, it goes back up some. I just realized that the NASDAQ seems to be taking a hit today, for some reason or another. Well maybe we all need to get out of tech stocks, especially those that have their manufacturing bases in China. Better to get into on shore American companies or get into precious metals or something like that. To listen to some of the geniuses, pretty soon China is going to own everything anyway as far electronics and a bunch of other tech stuff.
Yeah, Canada decides to participate in trade negotiations, and something good will happen for American Dairy and agricultural products and because of this AMD is moving up today? Ah, why look a gift horse in the mouth. I may actually get back to even this week if this keeps up.
Mick, please replace your old sticky note with something current, please. JLS, there you have it. I'll approach the subject with IHUB Admin, but I doubt they will change the rules.
Selling short in the penny market is very cost prohibitive. Perhaps the story is different for brokerage houses but retail, private investor's are not selling short in the pink sheets, you can take that to the bank.
Thank you for your posts. The outlook is positive and reassuring. It is concerning if we take post and pre market activity into account AMD dropped about 2 bucks we are now slightly above $30. On the matter of a technological edge, a good friend of mine tells me that IBM has a 3 or 3.5 nm chip. I don't know any of the details or what IBM's market share is. I will try to find some more info on this. I have questions about it's viability, performance characteristics, stability, manufacturability, cost and price etc. to name a few. IBM is currently trading at $151.75 per share, significantly higher than AMD and to many investors, like me, cost prohibitive to take a position.
JLS, referring to the sticky notes, yes one of the articles is old, but I did not post it, Mick did. I can not take down and /or replace another moderator's sticky note, the rule is that the posting mod can only remove or replace a sticky that he or she posted.
Really? Which one are you talking about?
you are getting in at a good place. I have always looked at AMMX as having a history of floating at about 0.015 and have always felt that it deserved to be higher even in bad times at about 0.025. by years end I think it is very possible we will be at that silver level...0.05, without SEC approval still in the works, which I don't expect to see until Jan or feb, if it is to happen. I'll keep faith as long as AMMX is transparent and forth coming even if there are set backs.
Thank you, again, I thought so.
I thought so, so at least 10 years.
Many of us have been bemoaning that AMMX is undervalued for years. I don't want to put too fine a point on it and be over optimistic but I think things will be restrained until the SEC gives the nod of approval. But until then I don't see a run up to 0.04 or 0.05 as unrealistic as long as there are clear signs of progress and fins live up to expectations and stated projections.
Just getting on it's feet? What do you mean, it's not like AMMX is a new fledgling company, I forget exactly when AMMX was launched on the stock market but it has to be at least 8 years....Gman can tell you off the top of his head. I've been in it for like 5 years.
yes it is~! RUN BABY RUN, let's get back to even for me today...GO AMD!!!
From another poster too me in pm:AMMX said they needed to wait for Cal-Fire to get budget approved
One step closer to a major contract for AMMX
https://sacramento.cbslocal.com/2018/09/25/cal-fire-more-money/
me too apparently
Ouch, because I had to leave the house I missed the high of the day. Oh well.
Sherman, sorry but I am at my son's place and was just able to get on line using his computer. In answer to your qyestion, let me put it this way, I am trying to free up cash to buy back shares at this level, So yes, I personally would buy at this point. Just be willing to hold before there is a significant run, it won't be too long, but it ain't going to be tomorrow or even this week, but I sincerely doubt that there will be further retraction of any consequence from here. I think we will slowly trend up. I am willing to say that my fears of going sub penny were wrong.
It certainly looked that way, but this time around there was unusually strong resistance to it going that low. If things drag out we may retract some again. AMMX has never been this far along towards the goal of the audit and SEC approval. If it doesn't happen, it will spell disaster for AMMX stock and it will take a very long time to recover from it, but at this point there is more reason to believe that won't happen than ever before.
Orca, It is beyond me why you seem to have a need to try and prove you are buying shares here. I believe you. By the way can I buy my 0.0088's back from you? Just kidding. Anyway, I see in addition to OTCX we seem to have another player here recently GLED? or something like that. Do you know anything about that MM??? Are these two MM's going to try and jerk us around? I have my cash tied up in another ticker right now and I'm a bit down, but I am thinking of taking the hit and moving some of that back here to increase my holdings to what I had before our last move up here. I can't stick around and watch this today, my son needs me at his place, but I'll try to check in. Can you cover for me as the moderator today?
Looks like we are going to have another day trading below all recently announced and revised price targets. WHY? WHY? WHY? I will not be able to stick around today, family concerns involved. GLTA, I'll try to check in later.
P.S. I do appreciate the comments and advice some of you have offered. I need to find someone that can explain some things to me about trading, options, and such. I know I am not educated in these matters. I have been doing some trading in the penny stocks, the stinky pinkies with mixed results. Getting back into AMD after several years has been a real eye opener. I can't believe the speed at which the pps changes or the volumes involved. It's hard to keep up with and there is very little time to react. Not like sitting on stocks that really don't change much for long periods of time. My problem here is I bought in too high, plain and simple. I thought I was going to make a few percent in a few days and at most and get out. Or trade this a number of times on peaks and valleys. So far since my last purchase, this has not worked out. I was doing good when we were still 28-30, but as it went up to 34 I bought back in bigger on the downside but still over 33.50.....33.76 is my average. OK well maybe that's TMI. Good day for now.
Be patient, it will come.
I'm starting to think I'm cursed. Are there forces that are actually trying to bring AMD down?
Good morning to all. I finally read through all of the posts from yesterday, 9/26/18. I just want to add a few comments.
On the subject of old notes coming due- Lee has never informed us that loans were taken in exchange for stock and I don't think AMMX ever did that or paid for services via stock grants. He has been known to award stock to employees as bonuses and as part of salary for specific employees.
We are wise to monitor the restricted share count, however, over the years that I have been in this ticker, there has never been any significant change in the unrestricted share count. There have been historically a few changes but they were relatively minor and no one invested here has ever been upset by it.
AMMX is TRACE certified, I'll leave to those that are interested in what that means to look it up. I have my own opinions about what that could mean for the prospects of conducting business with certain countries, but the certification is generally seen as a very good thing and an asset to companies that are so certified, sort of like being ISO certified.
It has happened in the past that a bunch of "cheap" shares came to market and there was a lot of speculation about where they were coming from. When asked , the company categorically denied any knowledge of newly unrestricted shares being sold or by whom. It is quite possible that these shares have been free trading shares that were purchased a long time ago at sub penny rates and have for some reason come to be sold. Perhaps a large share holder had a change of heart or mind or financial reason to sell. I know what that is like as I had to sell hundreds of thousands of shares in order to save my house a few years ago. (at one point I almost had a million shares here).
I would not be to worried about United Rental, I think AMMX is too small and specialized for UR to bother with and I don't think Lee has any inclination of selling but would rather keep the business in the family. Of course there is always the prospect that UR could be formidable competition if they decided to target and go after AMMX, but again I think it unlikely.
Is today the day? When are we going to see a significant move up? I think there is a little hesitation going on hear, maybe has something to do with what some recent articles were talking about. I don't know. Maybe , we are just sort of trading sideways for a bit gathering strength, then we will see a spurt to carry us over the $35 mark and beyond.
LOL. I just looked at the volume so far today and was pleasantly surprised to see we are well over a million and the price has come up a bit to 0.0152. Is this finally the turning point? Audit is complete and the next fay we hear of a 1 million dollar international sale. Looks promising. I hope it continues.
A farmer friend of mine recently likened buying stock to buying oats, he said," If you want good grade clean oats you have to pay a fair price for them, but of course oats that have already been through the horse come a bit cheaper!"
LOL, Yes and Yes and...Yes!
It's a long story, but the short version is that I personally got burned very badly acting too aggressively and purchasing too much on positive news on progress towards ends that were never achieved. (Please note that I did not say in AMMX here). However, if you want to take the plunge be my guest. There was a once upon a time when AMMX shareholders were told that trucks would be shipping to Niger by the end of the year. The whole deal fell apart and we did not get a satisfactory explanation. So I am sorry to "rain" on the parade. I make note of the announcement, I consider it good news and I note that it indicates progress but I remain aware of the fact that the goal is not yet accomplished, that's all.
Takuri, thank you for sharing the reply you received from Lee. First, I am pleasantly surprised that he personally answered your email (letter) as he didn't bother to answer me once after the several attempt I made to communicate with him. Second, I am pleased to see that he tried to be candid with you, but I note that he passed the blame on to the CFO, whom he hired, but I suppose some of that is to be expected as I expect that Lee's management style is to let his people work independently in their various areas of responsibility. So what does this all mean. Maybe, just maybe, there is a change going on and some growth on Lee's part. I have more reason to believe that the audit is indeed done and is currently in the state that was announced in the PR. So it is either with the external accounting firm or with the lawyers, ( I forget what the PR said exactly) so perhaps this time AMMX has made more progress than ever before as toward the end of SEC compliance and recognition. However, I caution everyone that it is not over until it's over, there are still steps in the process to be completed and potential hurdles and setbacks to be over come. I look forward to being told of the progress and will feel a whole lot better when we learn that the forms and information etc is in the hands of the SEC for review. Ultimately, we will only have reason to really celebrate after the SEC gives AMMX the nod of approval. It may happen quickly, it may take 3 months.
Has anyone else read this mornings articles that talk about tech stocks and those that mention AMD specifically? Are they trying to put fear in the market or is there a lot of truth in what they say, i.e. historical month of October pull backs and tariffs with China putting a damper on tech stocks??? I have not had investments in this market or exchange for years so I don't know what to expect from experience.
To my way of thinking, I think we could see $34 easily in extended hours today or pre market in the morning.
Gee, it must be that time of day for all the day traders to cash out.
I have a hunch that with the DOW being down and the great upgrades we've seen here the past few days, that we have a good deal of new money and investors coming in to AMD.
Yes it does, doesn't it. Thank you Nasdaq
I'll give you the pleasure of posting the PR as a sticky with stars.....
I'm looking at reshuffling some things to free up cash to put back into AMMX.
Another very good piece of news, another entity raises AMD price target to $40 and we have no comments yet today!? Don't look now but we are showing some strength and moving in a positive direction right now. I think we will close green and up over $32 a share.
