I think I saw something that the United States is going to run out of IPv4 addresses by June of this year.
You'll never guess who is leading the pack towards switching over to IPv6?
http://blogs.cisco.com/news/us-federal-government-makes-huge-strides-in-ipv6-deployment/
Why..it's APDN's old friend, the US Government.
I don't know where everyone else was, but work was a bear for me today. Thankfully I will only need to have a job for 6 more months at the most.
Hit the video link at this site, it talks a bit about IPv4 vs. IPv6 which is going to give APDN room it needs to take off like a bat out of a belfry.
http://www.google.com/intl/en/ipv6/
Rather than GlaxoSmithKline, the partnership we need to be looking for is one between APDN and either Google or Cisco.
That would be so huge, you'd have to get your order in for your yacht now because the waiting list would get backed up fast after that happens. IMO!!!
Oh...sorry sunny... :-P
APDN...to da MOON!!!!!
WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!
In spite of all my ramblings, I'm still here and I still own APDN stock.
It all comes down to... How much is enough?
Whether it's Money, Power, Control, Hummels, or Legos.
How much is enough?
I don't think the good Dr. is concerned with how much wealth he has on paper, as much as he cares about the amount he has in his pocket.
I know nothing more than any other stockholder who bought their stock through a discount brokerage. I'm just having fun speculating about things that don't seem quite right with the company to me.
Regardless of what is happening behind the scenes, or out in the open, I'm really hoping this stock does take off some day.
In fact, I'm betting on it!
"Tax haven BVI provides exceptional privacy and confidentiality for its offshore clients. In keeping with international banking regulation offshore banks operating in the offshore jurisdiction of the BVI function by the know your client rule but are still able to maintain the privacy and secrecy on behalf of client. According to banking secrecy laws of tax haven BVI information regarding offshore banks and bank accounts in the jurisdiction can only be given out with the consent of the offshore bank account holder or if a court order has been handed down. Disclosure of information of information in offshore bank account is punishable by the law."
So, first step would be to see if you can get Kurt Jensen's consent for you to see the information.
2nd step would be the court order to see it.
And 3rd, but best step in my opinion, would be to give the BVI "official" who oversees APDN's account a sizable "contribution" to have him discreetly and anonymously send you a copy of transactions, balances, etc. for the account.
It's not tax evasion. It's tax avoidance. HUGE difference. One is illegal, one is not. Mitt Romney can fill you in on the details of all that, as can most of the politicians in this country, I'm sure.
And funny you should mention Crede (aka Terren Piezer).
If you look at the companies he's invested in, and how well they have done since he provided financing, most have just floated along at the same share price, or have gone down. Almost makes one wonder how the guy could continue to provide financing if he's not making any money from his investments...
it's almost as if financing from his company is the same type of teaser as a pay raise based on performance that had a "misleading surprise", or a joint venture rumor that never materialized.
And I'm no accountant, but how come APDN showed the Crede warrants on their financials as a huge minus, but there was no cash offset on the other side of the balance sheet? Maybe there was and I missed it?
I need to get some new glasses, cause all I see with these are lions, and tigers, and bears, ("oh, my!"). What's worse though is that I'm not running to get out of the woods yet. I'm just a deer in the headlights. lol
I'm not saying there's any cash stashed anywhere. I'm simply implying that the numbers don't add up to the efforts of the company. You would have to ask the "registered agent of the company who is also responsible for keeping the information" about dollar amounts. But my guess is you'll get a blank stare in return to your question.
APDN(BVI) could just be for trademark and patent protection, as those are assets as well as cash is.
http://www.taxhavens.biz/caribbean_tax_havens/tax_haven_bvi/
"The main characteristics of offshore tax havens is that they provide genuine secrecy and privacy for clients in financial and other services and that most of the clients are not citizens of such countries."
"BVI tax havens have no taxes in place for BVI offshore companies who do no business in the jurisdiction. International business companies will pay zero taxes on the profits, interests, dividends and other types of incomes earned outside of the jurisdiction. For this reason the BVI can be regarded as a pure offshore tax haven. BVI offshore corporations pay no corporate tax, capital gains tax, estate tax, withholding tax and income tax."
"The BVI as a tax haven also provides confidentiality and privacy to the beneficial owners and directors of offshore business corporations through its offshore business corporation’s act. The names of the offshore company’s shareholders, directors and the company’s minutes of meetings and resolution are not filed with the Registrar of Companies. Information about the beneficial owners is not made public. This means that this information does not become public. Such information is only known by the Registered agent of the company who is also responsible for keeping the information."
"The BVI have for years provided unbeatable asset protection."
hi sunny...I don't have level II's, so I based that statement on seeing the ask size (quantity) almost always being bigger than the bid size.
There may be more buys than sells, but there are still more shares being offered for sale than shares bid for.
Occasionally there will be a big number on the bid, almost as a teaser to get people to think this is the turnaround point, and they better buy NOW before the price shoots up. But then that big number goes away before that many shares are sold. ???
I don't know enough about stocks and the stock market to seriously make money at it. I'm buying lottery tickets (stocks) and hoping I "win". Not a good strategy, especially since the whole system is based on greed.
And my greed has made me hold onto this stock when I should have sold it.
Well, as it is with the stock market, it is with life - woulda, shoulda, coulda.
Still way more people wanting to get out than in with this stock.
yip - you hit the nail on the head with your comment about the Dr's raise being a "misleading surprise".
and interesting how the GlaxoSmithKline rumor came out right after the disappointing financials...
I really get the feeling that I'm a lamb being led to slaughter.
"Easy...steady now....almost there little feller..."
Curses to my greediness that keeps me following blindly along!!! lol
http://news.yahoo.com/google-glass-identify-friends-clothing-164050694.html
I'm posting that article because those goggles could also use the apdn smartphone app for identifying items marked with dna.
Our world is going to see another technical leap within a year or so with ramifications even larger than the internet has had over the past decade, and I'm convinced APDN is going to be right in the middle of it.
But what I'm not convinced about, and even a bit worried about, is whether or not they are planning on sharing their wealth with those of us who made it possible for them to get this far. I don't think they are.
But, I hope I am proved wrong about that. I truly do.
That's only if our math is the same math the APDN accountants use. I have a stinking suspicion that they are allowed to be a lot more "creative" with their numbers than we are with ours (like on tax returns <grin>).
Keep in mind...numbers don't lie... unless you want them to.
Keep in mind also that APDN has a friend in the US government. And with a friend like that, there's virtually no limit to what they could get away with if they were so inclined.
The other thing about the pay raise for Dr. Hayward tied in with revenues to consider is that it could have been nothing more than a carrot leading people on to invest in the stock so others could cash out at the over 20 cent level.
"Huh? Pay raise for what? Over 1 million in revenues for the quarter? Oh no, no, no no. Where'd you get that idea? That big ol' bonus and pay raise was for something else entirely. Of course I can't be more specific than that, but it certainly didn't have anything to do with this past quarters revenues. Golly gee no. Heh, heh. Heh, heh."
One would think that if the good Dr. was willing to go without a paycheck for years, then he would be fine with waiting on 30% annual pay raises and bonuses until they stopped losing millions of dollars each quarter.
But, that's just my thinking....what do I know? I'm just the sucker, not the suckee.
I've been thinking of giving her a call anyway, so perhaps I will.
My only question for her though will be if she personally owns any APDN shares that she bought with her own money.
True, but they covered their butts by saying "expects to receive approximately $1 million in orders in 2011."
But still, if their estimates are off that bad, they need some new forecasters. .
Sure sounds like a lot of business for the little amount of revenue they had last quarter.
SigNature(R) DNA, the well-known APDN evidentiary marking product, is now used to protect over 26% of the cash in the United Kingdom as money is moved to and from banks and retailers. The cash in transit technology was also adopted last year by the Scandinavian security firm Nokas AS to be used nationally in Sweden. The company's DNANet product, a tactical forensic marking system, is used by law enforcement in the United Kingdom and Sweden for covert police operations. smartDNA, an anti-intrusion forensic marker, is used to protect over forty jewelry stores in Sweden, and to defend against copper theft in that country.
Revenue last quarter - $317,670.00 What the ____???????
Several years ago, APDN signed an $8.7 million, five-year agreement with a luxury pen manufacturer. On average, that's 1.74 million per year, or $435,000.00 per quarter.
And that's for ONE company, FOR STINKIN' PENS!!!!! They can't do better than $317,670.00 after several years of doing business and after several new customers, some of which are COUNTRIES, not companies!?
I say again...What the ____???????
I would be very surprised to find out they were reporting all of their income. They can't be. A lot of it has to be getting shuffled under the accounting carpet that connects the hallways of APDN, Applied DNA Operations Management, Inc., APDN (B.V.I.) Inc. and Applied DNA Sciences Europe Limited.
From every 10Q - "The unaudited condensed consolidated financial statements include the accounts of the Company and its wholly-owned subsidiaries, Applied DNA Operations Management, Inc., APDN (B.V.I.) Inc. and Applied DNA Sciences Europe Limited. Significant inter-company transactions have been eliminated in consolidation."
I'm interpreting "eliminated in consolidation" to mean swept under the carpet to avoid taxes and/or to line certain individual's pockets (not stockholders).
I really think that APDN has made more money than they show. WAY more money. I think they screwed up saying Dr. Hayward would get a large raise after the first quarter in which financials were over 1 million.
I'm guessing they made more than 1 million in a quarter, Dr. Hayward got his raise, and when the revenue they showed on their financials was less than a million, it got everybody saying "What the ____???"
Dr. Hayward probably got all over whoever put that "deal" down in writing for all of us couch potato heads to see. It was such a major screw up on their part, he couldn't NOT mention it in his conference call or it would really look like they were hiding something.
To have the raise be the exact amount mentioned in previous SEC filings that he would receive if revenues exceeded 1 million in a quarter, and then to have Dr. Hayward say it was for something else, or previous years work....just doesn't fly with me.
I think we need to call up Clark Griswold's cousin-in-law Eddie Johnson to go round up Dr. Hayward for us so we can all ask him some questions face to face. lol
P.S.
____ = heck
lol...too funny yip and sunny.
I was busy putting my post together so I didn't see yours until after I posted mine. Looks like we are all on the same page thinking it's a small investment world out there after all.
Still remains to be seen if the good doctor and his cronies (associates, government bribe recipients (<wink>, family members, etc.) intend to keep the lion's share of the money made by APDN for themselves, or if they are going to let any of us taxpaying folks benefit greatly from the companies success.
Hurry up and get here future!!!
This is an old article, but its a good reminder of what APDN has going for it with the QR cloud technology.
http://sap.sys-con.com/node/2274599
I really think we can't even begin to comprehend how huge an impact this technology is going to have on our lives a year or two from now. (And how commonplace it is going to be.)
From the article:
"The digitalDNA platform is designed to meet compliance specifications defined by the PCI (Payment Card Industry) Security Standards Council, the new and strict standards developed for handling credit card transactions, and HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act), the stringent requirements for protecting personal health information."
Based on the info above, does anyone think its a coincidence that Dr. Hayward and Dr. Yacov Shamash are on the Board of Directors at Softheon?
http://www.softheon.com/Site/home
http://www.softheon.com/Site/about/company/directors
"Softheon is the emerging leader in next generation healthcare business process optimization, enabling payer, provider, and government organizations to measurably reduce administrative cost, improve member and provider satisfaction, generate new revenue opportunities, and comply with regulatory compliance by adopting best business practices."
Scottrade is showing almost 600,000 volume and up 8%
To quote one of my greatest heroes...
"To infinity... and beyond!"
good article wishful...but I beg to differ on the nothing new part.
Either that guy has his facts wrong, or else he knows something APDN hasn't told us. Those cheeky buggers!!!! (Or else I'm out of the know as is most likely the case.)
"If you're thinking this DNA spray might have other valuable applications, you're right. SigNature has put a unique genetic face on more than a billion products from passports and electronics to clothing and fine wine to combat counterfeiting, fraud and theft. The U.S. Defense Logistics Agency uses DNA tagging to make sure the military materiel we all pay for, from brake shoes to semiconductors, come from the original manufacturer and not some knock-off shop."
Since when have they been marking brake shoes?
yeah johnsyn...I 2nd yip's question. You're getting wordier than me all of a sudden. lol
P.S.
Looks like we're pulling out of the nose dive today. (Or else we just caught a lucky updraft...)
<grin>
I would love to quit my day job and write a book. (If only APDN would cooperate with that idea.) I already have a story in mind, and yes, it would be a thriller. Think "Body Snatchers" mixed with "50 Shades of Grey". lol
I think my hunch about APDN not taking off yet because of a lack of available IP addresses may be on target. At least in the government sector.
I envision APDN being like a race horse at the starting gate, and when that gate is opened up, it's going to take off like the wind.
We are literally going to see a whole new world in about a year or so...and that world will be provided to you by none other than our good buddies at APDN.
Same to you wishful....
I had an "Ah Ha" moment earlier when I posted the augmented reality article as to why APDN hasn't taken off like we thought it should.
It's because Internet Protocol version 4 isn't allowing it to. Not enough IP addresses for oodles and oodles of taggants.
But with IPv6 coming out, the available addresses become exponentially greater and there are enough to go around for every one, and every thing.
http://arstechnica.com/business/2013/01/ipv6-takes-one-step-forward-ipv4-two-steps-back-in-2012/
Make that 6 more...
I posted stuff about the "Internet of Things" and "augmented reality" before, but I hadn't seen this article about it.
http://www.wassom.com/living-in-ipv6-what-happens-when-everything-everywhere-goes-online.html
"Shortly after I originally wrote about this, the UK company Berg came out with an “augmented comic book” called SVK. The premise of this story was remarkably similar (SPOILER ALERT): bad guys spray invisible, nano-sized particles into the atmosphere across London. When they get enmeshed in peoples’ skin, the particles are able to broadcast that person’s thoughts. Characters wearing special AR contact lenses are then able to see the thoughts of people around them in visual form.
The particulars of this story–mind-reading and such–are fanciful, but the conceived infrastructure underlying the idea is at least plausible. Tying together trillions of invisible markers with AR eyewear capable of recognizing those markers would be a quick way to create a highly detailed, three-dimensional, interactive map of the physical world–especially if many of those data points have individual addresses in the IPv6 system.
Can it be much longer before our world starts looking a lot more like Tron‘s?"
Creepy stuff actually...but I don't mind creepy and privacy infringement stuff if it makes me rich.
However, due to APDN's secrecy, and apparent lack of revenues, if they are involved in this, and making a ton of money as a result, they sure aren't planning on sharing any of it with us markered folks.
APDN - Where'd you get those shades?
Just because I have 8 more posts remaining for the day. <grin>
http://blogs.discovermagazine.com/discoblog/2011/04/29/can-the-u-s-military-shower-trackable-dust-onto-terrorists/#.UTe5NNZBSbA
Make that 7 now. lol
Looks like their last 3 press releases were done on a Tuesday, a Thursday, and a Friday, so I would say they would potentially post on any day of the week ending in "day".
I would go YooHoo! and yell out high fives all around ms. johnsyn, but for some reason the even day appears to be a really bad end of day paint job.
It appears they are dropping a big fat APDN worm into the waters again trying to get all the little sunfish to bite at it so they can hook them and eat them for dinner. (Figuratively speaking of course.) lol
and HEEEEEEERRRRRRREEEEESSSSS DEEP SPACE!
Lets hope APDN does have a part 2 buddy boy. And that it has a happier ending than an asian massage.
On the positive side...quite frankly, I've always considered myself a total loser at life, but thanks to APDN, I see I still have room to be a bigger loser than I already am. LOL
Finally APDN is sharing some info about what is going on with the company...
http://www.adnas.com/sites/default/files/stockholder.letter.final-2008.pdf
...oh, wait...that stockholder letter is from Nov. 2008. I should have known it wasn't recent when I saw the blurb about increased revenues.
Sorry about that folks...false alarm. Go back about your business....nothing to see here.
Hopefully that means we'll be getting an updated letter soon since that one is over 4 years old.
In the spring there might not be anything left to watch.
It's like we're all involved in a sick horror movie.
We thought we were going to a great party at the big mansion up the street, but instead, the owner is a certified wacko intent on killing and robbing everyone who came.
He doesn't pull out a gun and start blasting away which would cause us all to run, not walk, to the nearest exit. (Thereby leaving some people uninjured, or injured not as badly as he wants.) Instead, he uses ninja skills to quietly pick us off one by one. A knife across the throat here, an ice pick in the ear there...
"Hey....where's Bobby? He was just here a minute ago."
"Man, I don't know. And where's Suzie? She said she was going to meet me here for body shots a half hour ago? Something weird is going on man, and I don't like it one bit!"
And then again, it could all be a sick joke on the owners part, and when the last person is left standing, quaking in their boots, wishing they could find an exit, the doors to the ballroom suddenly open up and there everyone is just fine and dandy.
The champagne starts flowing, and it ends up being a great party afterall. lol
I don't know what's happening with APDN, but it's obvious the powers that be are trickling the share price down lower and lower, trying to be very careful they don't stampede the stockholders into a mass sellout.
Question is, how low do we all let the share price go before we decide it's time for us to get out?
Or, is it all a big ruse in anticipation of a big reveal to come?
My thoughts are that it's happening already, but APDN is keeping it secret (due to security) . And they are shuffling the money they receive from that revenue source into their tax haven subsidiary company, APDN(BVI), without posting anything on the regular APDN financials. And it is my opinion that the US government is aware and ok with that because they don't want anyone (especially North Korea) to know they have an easy and effective way to detect funny money.
Rumor has it they've been marking paper for the Bank of England for several years now. (They print money overseas just like the Fed does here) I don't know who you could call to check what's happening at the Bank of England, but for botanical dna usage stateside, you may want to call Larry Felix (Director of the United States Bureau of Engraving and Printing) at (202) 874-2229 or Susan Fortunato (United States Secret Service Agent) at (202) 406-7777.
From what I could find, both of them supposedly confirmed that the US Treasury has at least given consideration to adding DNA technology to its banknotes. And supposedly Dr. Hayward admitted to having been in negotiations with the US Treasury for several years now.
But, based on the Dr.'s public sales track record, that doesn't really mean a whole lot.
Please let us know if you call and get though to any of them, and what they have to say on the matter.
APDN - Cloak and Daggers galore!
I do have a glimmer of hope that APDN will pop one day. And pop BIG. Especially when I see other stocks do it.
There is one company in particular that happens to be involved in a political issue. Not like APDN's, but political meaning there are Senators and Congress folks involved in one way or another. It has to do with the legalization of marijuana and a particular bio-metric dispensing method.
I won't mention the company's name, but it rhymes with Redbox, and it is a company that "offers a machine that dispenses medication to individuals based on biometric identification (fingerprint sample). The machine allows pharmacies, hospitals, doctors' offices, and alternative medicine clinics to manage employee possession of sensitive drugs. The system also allows these clinics to demonstrate that the user visiting the machine is a registered patient and that the patient has a valid and unexpired authorization from a physician to possess and use the medicine dispensed. It has national and international presence with offices in Los Angeles, New York, Toronto, London and Tokyo. _edbox, through its subsidiaries, offers consulting services to the alternative medicine industry, as well as to the mini self-storage market. It provides consulting services primarily to individuals and groups seeking to establish new clinics and facilities, often in jurisdictions that have recently passed legislation concerning the availability of alternative medicines."
The share price was floating along in the 3-4 dollar range, and went all the way up to over $200.00 per share recently, based on what I presume was because of the legalization of marijuana in Colorado and Washington earlier this year.
At that price, their market cap was over a billion dollars, and yet there is no financial info, no sales of any kind, no SEC filings I could find, etc. The price went up on hype alone.
So it's possible APDN could do the same thing given the right PR, news story, etc. What's interesting is that the other stock and APDN both have 52 week lows at just over 2 cents. I wonder if that is a going rate for a Senator or Congressman to buy stock at?
"Hey...what's up with the dollar per share buy in you medical marijuana, jump on the legalization bandwagon, guys? You know better than that. If you want my vote you gotta match the deal Levin and McCain got with that botanical dna crap company."
Or at least that's how I imagine it went anyway. lol
Well, ihub won't let me post anymore, so this is it for today.
Thanks for the info about the number of meeting attendees johnsyn.
Sweet dreams to all!
and how many stockholders were at the meeting? Not counting board members and officers of APDN...
It would be nice if the only sham this dna was in was a Shamwow.
But I think they are called stinky pinks for a reason...
...let's hope this one is an exception to the rule.
They used to, but not anymore. It was too much work for not enough money.
Their employees were pooped all the time even though their sales didn't amount to $#!T.
Here's my optimistic post to offset the pessimistic one(s) earlier...
In January, APDN "announced that Forward Components, Inc. (Forward Components Engineering, or FCE), based in Foothill Ranch, CA, has requested a unique DNA mark from APDN for DNA-marking for FSC 5962 microcircuits in accordance with the mandate issued by the U.S. Defense Logistics Agency (DLA). The mandate requires use of APDN’s SigNature® DNA marking on a certain class of microcircuits, FSC 5962." (Once again, I don't like the wording like on the Swedish Police release...requested doesn't mean they bought one, but it is what it is.)
http://www.adnas.com/sites/default/files/press.release.forward.contract.17.jan_.2013_0.pdf
Forward Components appears to be a decent company...
http://www.forwardcomponents.com/home.aspx
tied in with a lot of suppliers, some of which are pretty well known names...
http://www.forwardcomponents.com/FC_Linecard.pdf
and with the talk of the DLA hopefully adding FSC 5961 into the mix of parts requiring botanical dna authentication, Forward Components is already set up for those, so it would be an easy add on for them. Provided they actually buy a DNA mark from APDN, of course.
http://www.forwardcomponents.com/PDF/QSLD_5961.PDF
That letter from DLA was dated August 20th of 2012. Hmmmmmmm...I don't remember...when did the mandate get announced?
Keep in mind that release was talking about June of last year. And as sunny said...
"Important thing to note....
Buren said all 21 counties in Sweden will begin training their police forces on the use of smartDNA starting in June, and several other countries may follow suit."
The release just says they will be training on the use of smartDNA, not actually buying smartDNA.
So since this has had plenty of months to generate revenues and evidently has not done so, I'd say we should expect more of the same in the months ahead....
Sorry. That was crazy me. I couldn't take it anymore so I just sold my entire stake in APDN. Now I can stop worrying I'll lose any more money!!
(Just kidding...)
Thanks for the comments sunny...
I'm just in a pessimistic mood today I guess and am letting my imagination get the best of me.
I'll counter that with an optimistic post in a bit.
And by the way johnsyn...I don't drink orange juice for breakfast, but maybe I should start so I get that sugar rush to get me going. lol
