Announcement is in the WSJ.
Markey Mark
I would think it will catch on like wildfire once the word is out...IMHO. Since we have plaympe and play anywhere video...maybe playmark for the watermark...
You didn't understand what I meant. And the frustration is not that people don't believe in what Destiny is trying to do. I have coded in JavaScript - it's no small feat dealing with all the different browsers. The frustration is the constant postponing - it's human nature to make mistakes , but it's also possible to learn from them. Will Destiny string along huge G2 customers? They may not have the patience for it, especially if it's going to cost them money. Hire a project manager if they don't have one, or get a better one.
The tech world makes and keeps target dates all the time.
Is anyone going to take that date seriously? You can only keep postponing for so long, then people stop listening.
What happened to all the age posts?
We're getting close to that mid October release. The next few months will be interesting... IMHO.
Thanks for the polite reminder.
Thanks, sadly it 's probably true.
My opinion is they should not get paid. That means they'd have to be independently wealthy to run , but it might eliminate half the yo-yo's that are in there.
Guess we'll see. I think the Founding Fathers are rolling over in their graves .
Very possible the way things are going.
Good one.
The POTUS just mentioned trying to get a trade deal with China to protect intellectual property. That would be a switch, because China generally will go along with anything that hurts not helps the US....
That's a good one... Sherlock Holmes would be a great character to use because he was a detective and the watermarking, etc... helps Destiny track down illegal sharing...
He could say, "Go ahead, mark my day." Aha, ha, ha!!!!
If you're gonna use that name, you may as well make it Sherlock. I still think eMark or iMark is the best - maybe iLock or eLock, but that might make you think about LifeLock...you need to have a name that helps you to know what it does/is just by hearing the name.
Emark or imark.
Seek Out Interest, Not Influence: While there has been much discussion about Influentials in recent years, the idea itself is a red herring. As attractive as these magical people are in theory, the empirical research—as well as common sense—shows them not to exist in any significant way.
If we want our ideas to spread, we’re much better off seeking out people who will be interested in it than chasing phantom “Influentials.”
Build Inside Before You Build Out: One of the most common mistakes that people make when trying to spread a disruptive idea is to try to spread it far and wide. This is almost always a mistake, because it makes it less likely that you will ever build up the density you need to influence those with higher resistance thresholds.
The strength of a community, after all, is not defined by how many people are connected to an idea, but how those people are connected to each other. Businesses as diverse as Harley Davidson and eBay thrive because of the bonds they have forged not only to the brand, but among consumers themselves.
Connect To Higher Threshold Groups: We tend to think about communities as isolated and distinct groups, but that’s not really the case. In the Orange Revolution in Ukraine the disruption started at universities and students flocked to build tent cities in protest. If the movement had stopped there, it would have fizzled out just as #Occupy did.

Change only became truly possible when groups with higher resistance thresholds joined in (the same was true in the Arab Spring and the recent unrest in Turkey). Revolution these days looks more like The Good Wife than Homeland. It’s not the “special people”, but everybody else that transforms a niche idea into a powerful movement.
It’s Not The Nodes, It’s The Network
All too often, disruption is portrayed as a mysterious process that requires almost superhuman abilities. We look to people like Henry Ford, Steve Jobs and Elon Musk to lead us or, alternatively, seek out softheaded theories of influence to explain it.
Make no mistake—it’s not the nodes, but the network that creates disruption—and there are natural laws that govern the connections and interdependencies that underlie it. By understanding these laws—and the science behind them—we can manage organizations more effectively and drive disruption, rather than fall victim to it.
As digital technology makes disruption not only more important, but more common as well, it’s time that the business community learns what science already knows—the way things connect determines how they will behave.
Thanks, this is great info.
I would agree - perhaps also because Plaympe ramps up this time of year.
I got lucky... Hope this trend continues.
Thanks to me we closed at 2.12 yesterday. Glad that one last buy I made seems to be paying off.
Seems like they could get more money going to the transcodes' customers directly... unless word gets out to the transcoders, and they rush to lock their customers into contracts, if they aren't already.
If you're a business paying a transcoding company, and you find out that the transcoding company cut their costs significantly and didn't pass any savings to you, would you be happy? Maybe the business will end the transcoding company's contract and go straight to Destiny - or maybe they will be mad Destiny was involved.
I know of one example where something similar happened - all it did was make the customer really mad when they found out - they had hard feelings for BOTH companies. The truth always comes out - it's not if, but when. People may not always understand the details of technology, but they recognize being taken to the cleaners every time they have all the facts.
I don't like the idea of partnering with transcoding companies. The businesses that would be paying for transcoding would eventually find out what is going on.
Go back to one of my previous posts and watch the video on mass market adoption... It's interesting.
We are - keyboarding on an iPhone....
We in a waiting pattern...nothing new. Go back to your corner and come back out mid October.
Please post for the rest of us what you learn at the conference.
You did get it.
Interesting, relatively short video that mentions how to get mass market adoption of innovative products... somewhere around the 12 minute mark is especially interesting... http://www.ted.com/talks/simon_sinek_how_great_leaders_inspire_action.html
I disagree. To each their own.
Just listened to the audio again, and if the engine is as solid as Steve V. says, I don't see how this can't succeed very well. The US economy is in the toilet, and even tech companies are continually looking to cut costs and regardless of what anyone thinks of Obama, Obamacare is KILLING the job market. Only bringing up politics in the context of the release of G2.
It won't come up on my iPhone 5. Last time that happened they were upgrading the site.
Xfinity (Comcast) is already offering watching TV anywhere.
No kidding.
Depends on the product - but we all know they have been working on this for over a year.
