Skyvantage looks like a pretty well-thought-out choice for a reservations vendor. These guys do seem like they are trying to start an airline, albeit small, in the midst of all the wheeling and dealing thats been done as they ran AXGI's share price into the ground. Their current share price would reflect their successes if they didn't have such a bad track record to date sticking it to the public shareholders. Citing AmericanBulls is an admission of a thoroughly short-term outlook. AmericanBulls' approach is tailored for trading on a time scale of a few days at best. No trending; it's not too good for less than 3 days and also not too good for more than 7 days or so. The advice text looks to be generated by expert system software based upon a set of candlestick patterns. It reads like an astrology column in the paper: "Pisces: You will meet a stranger who helps you in a business matter". LOL. Its fun to read though.
The answer to your question is:
Daytraders!
LOL
Whats up with this new thing? Its under the "Link Fee" hotlink:

-------------------------------
Does that mean they don't approve of Orbitz? Or maybe they don't want people linking "to" them because they don't want the business? Maybe they have their transitivity, "link from" and "link to", mixed up. Its sure pretty amateur and wacky but then lawyers make bad programmers and vice versa. Maybe they had some trouble from a Denial of Service attack or website hackers or something and they are not sure how to handle it. Interesting.
Sure would be nice to see them get the ticket machinery up and running. Its been plenty long enough.
AmericanBulls uses a very short-term approach based on candlestick patterns. From today's high/low/open/close it would be sort of embarassing if VIVI had to come out with a new PR: "VIVI Receives Sell Recommendation from www.AmericanBulls.com". LOL
VIVI might just resume the upward march tomorrow. The action could resemble last November. It'd be nice, eh?

Its been over 10 weeks since they filed the 10-SB with no word since then.
Viva Issues Update on Operations
Thursday August 4, 12:16 pm ET
SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 4, 2005--Viva International, Inc. (OTCBB:VIVI - News) today issued a statement providing updates on its operations through its subsidiary air carriers, Eastern Caribbean Air (EC Air) and Viva Air Dominicana, S.A. (VAD).
Recently, the Company received formal Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) approval of the appointment of Mr. Luis A. Valette as the Director of Maintenance for Eastern Caribbean Airlines (EC Air).
Pier S. Bjorklund, Viva's Business Affairs Consultant, commented, "This appointment is part of the evolutionary process of a company's growth as well as indication of the types of stages or compliance measures that is required from those in our industry sector. We welcome Mr. Valette to our Company as we prepare to acquire more aircraft and add to our fleet. We expect Mr. Valette to help us build an exceptional team of qualified mechanics to keep our equipment operational, safe and in compliance with all applicable FAA standards."
In additional news, EC Air continues to operate charter service 4 times weekly between San Juan, Puerto Rico and Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic and is also operating 5 additional public charter flights per week for a local tour operator between these two airports.
Mr. Oscar Hasan, President and CEO of Viva commented, "It has been an exhausting event to get this operation off the ground. However, in the short time we have been operating we have created a high degree of customer satisfaction and trust. Thus far we are selling off close to 95% of all available seats and although we are operating a relatively small aircraft it is my opinion that we can achieve similar results with our planned aircraft acquisitions. As we have announced, we have 2 aircraft coming to us soon and I am anxious to begin planning and setting up route structures and selling tickets for these planes. From my perspective, we are off to a good start largely due to a customer first oriented way of doing business. I salute my loyal staffers for their continuing efforts. Our Company approach to building our businesses has resulted in the continuing number of daily phone calls from potential travelers and our ongoing feedback from tour operators. At present, we are being asked to add additional flights between Santo Domingo and Puerto Rico as well as to provide services to other destinations in the Caribbean. Obviously, we are doing some things right, we will make flying Viva a truly memorable and pleasant experience."
The weekly scheduled charter service began in June of 2005, prior to that and continuing to this day, EC Air has operated on demand charters. EC Air has operated several on demand charters since February 2005 and believes it can and will significantly increase this type of activity as customer requirements and needs appear to be high. EC Air from its hub in Puerto Rico is also fielding inquiries for continuing services to "hot spot" destinations in the US and British Virgin Islands and currently expects that it will soon be able to provide services.
At 1:30 p.m. EST today, August 4, 2005, an update interview with a Viva representative is being conducted on www.ibcradio.com.

Viva Implements Plan to Improve Shareholder Communications
Wednesday August 3, 1:49 pm ET
SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 3, 2005--Viva International, Inc. (OTCBB:VIVI - News) announced this morning the implementation of a management plan to improve shareholder relations and communications and create a forum to address inquiries regarding the Company and its subsidiary operations, Eastern Caribbean Air (EC Air) and Viva Air Dominicana, S.A. (VAD).
Pier S. Bjorklund, Viva's business affairs consultant stated, "We have been inundated with shareholder calls and are finding it increasingly difficult to respond to all of the calls we receive. We believe this is due to the demands of building out our various subsidiaries operations while attempting to serve the needs of investor relations on a simultaneous basis. However, management believes that we can improve our ability to respond to our shareholders and investors by the implementation of a plan that compiles questions, concerns and suggestions and responds in a media format that addresses these informational wants and needs. Certainly this will allow for supplemental coverage of the Company's developing progress other than that which will be released via business news releases. Accordingly, we are trying to balance out communications to make us accessible on a more efficient basis".
Mr. Bjorklund also commented, "A good number of shareholders would like news releases weekly and although I certainly understand this quest for information, it simply is not practical to do this. So perhaps, having access to what is going on with the Company and addressing shareholder and investor concerns will bridge the need for information".
Beginning today and to supplement its business communications efforts, Viva is requesting shareholders / investors, as an alternative to phone calls, to submit inquires to the company's investor email address invest@flyviva.com. A compilation of inquiries will be tabulated and be addressed by a company representative on its weekly radio interview on IBC Radio broadcast on www.ibcradio.com. Business news will continue to be released on significant developments, transactions, events and circumstances involving the Company and its subsidiaries.
Mr., Bjorklund added in closing, "The investing community is very important to us; however, making sure the Company is able to grow and operate successfully now and in the years to come is our number one priority and we believe that is what our shareholders expect of us. However, strengthening our communication effort and improving its efficiency is a reasonable expectation and we implement this plan with optimism. I believe the implementation of this communication plan will assist us in developing our future strategies to disseminate information about our Company".and is a good first step".

Eastern Caribbean Considers Service to Virgin Gorda
Thursday June 30, 12:36 pm ET
SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 30, 2005--Viva International, Inc. announced today that its wholly owned subsidiary Eastern Caribbean Air (EC Air), a section 135 air carrier, has issued instructions to L. A. Izarry & Associates, aviation consultants to review specifications and file application to operate service to the Virgin Gorda Airport (VIJ).
Virgin Gorda is the 2nd largest island in the British Virgin Islands. Only 10 miles long and 2 miles wide, the Island is known for its yacht clubs, quiet coves, beaches, snorkeling and safe anchorages for bare boats.
Primarily, EC Air is looking to provide service from San Juan to Virgin Gorda but is simultaneously reviewing the capability of offering service from the Dominican Republic via its sister corporation, Viva Air Dominicana S.A.
Oscar Hasan, Viva International's CEO and President of EC Air, commented, "Virgin Gorda presents an exciting opportunity for us and meets our fundamental criteria for development of and expansion of our route structures. There is a documented need for air services and the route blends into existing and anticipated route structures. In addition, the anticipated fares are expected to be high-end thus resulting in very attractive bottom line results from operating this route. Company management forecasts that approximately $2 million of revenues can be generated by providing service to Virgin Gorda."
Strange time for Viva. Seems like its ready to rock but you never can tell.
Bought some more today.
Couldn't resist.
Put in an AON order at Ask. Wasn't filled.
Put in an AON order ABOVE Ask. Wasn't filled either.
Took out the AON part and put it back down to Ask. A partial fill.
It sure doesn't seem consistent with the notion of MMs with a lot of shares to dump.
I wonder what this is doing floating out there:

Viva Announces Operational Updates
Thursday June 16, 1:16 pm ET
SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 16, 2005--Viva International, Inc. (OTCBB:VIVI - News) announced corporate and operational updates of its subsidiary air carrier operators, Eastern Caribbean Air (EC Air) and Viva Air Dominicana, S.A. (VAD).
Due to overwhelming response of the EC Air chartered air services occurring between San Juan, Puerto Rico and Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, VAD is currently entertaining requests and contract offers from local tour operators and travel agents, including reviewing new route suggestions from the general public. The Company expects to soon release significant announcements detailing new routes and schedules.
Oscar Hasan, President and Chief Executive Officer of Viva International, Inc. stated, "The response to our air service between San Juan and Santo Domingo has been overwhelming. The ECAIR colors (logos) painted on the aircraft have literally become a flying billboard in the sky. Meetings are held almost daily, at the airport, during flight layovers with local tour operators and travel agents to market our air service. We feel this provides a hands-on look at our operations including the aircraft and customer related services to prospective clientele."
Mr. Hasan further stated, "The response from the business community and general public to our most recent efforts has been significant and enlightening and is further validation of our demographic studies. This reaction is very much welcomed and has prompted our corporate office to begin reviewing our overall company business plan to study the addition of new routes and the accompanying additional aircraft and financing requirements necessary to satisfy a significant number of the ever present opportunities."
In other news, Viva also disclosed that EC AIR has recently received is formal registration approval from the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) in the name of Eastern Caribbean Air (EC AIR). This registration approval follows an announcement made by the Company at the end of March 2005 stating that EC AIR had received DOT approval to operate as Cool Tours, Inc. d/b/a Eastern Caribbean Air using its trade name EC AIR pursuant to its acquired/merged with Cool Tours, Inc. d/b/a San Juan Aviation, a FAR Part 135 Charter Air Carrier in San Juan, Puerto Rico in February 2005.
The run-ups do seem to be preceded by a shake. Hope that's the case here.
On the positive side:
There is usually a plunge prior to a run. Maybe the MMs sop up shares from nervous sellers so they can sell into their own manufactured run. I'm not sure whats legal or possible here.
I suppose there's a lot you can tell from the minute-by-minute bid-ask spread, but I don't get that info. If any of you old-timers have good ideas about the price action and what it implys, I'd love to hear about it.
I have no doubt insiders are selling, and why not, but they filed to sell about twice as many shares as before the November run-up. Seems like they would make a whole lot more money for themselves if they were patient, did like before, letting it run and selling into the middle of very high volume. There was a whole lot more volume then, but then again they've been waiting quite a while and might be hungry. Regardless, I think the MMs are in cahoots in some way.
Heres something positive:
http://www.newszoom.com/finance/company-list/airlin/Airline/
Viva is on the list of only 35 USA airlines. That's nice to see.
As to why VIVI hasn't gone up lately? One possibility is that the big price pop to 75 cents last November was really just a pump-and-dump that finally killed the goose that laid the golden egg. VIVI was in a coma when it happened, so perhaps its headed back into a coma. Another possibility is that the stock is heavily manipulated, which explains some things, but the price has been kept UP above 20 cents AND DOWN below 24 cents. The MMs completely control it, end of story. Could be the MMs will just demoralize most everyone into selling, put VIVI into a persistent vegetative state, then pop it again and sell it all back to us. The whole OTC is a pack of weasels and I have no doubt that MMs are nothing but another kind of insider.
rook, how is that bashing? (eom)
I believe it is legal for the MMs to do it, as long as they are doing it to maintain an "orderly" market:
http://www.sec.gov/spotlight/keyregshoissues.htm
http://www.stockpatrol.com/article/key/regshofaq
The OTCBB differs from other exchanges in that the MMs can have large short or long positions without having to tell anyone about it.
Personally, I still don't believe that naked shorting goes on much. If you're the casino and you always get the house's cut then you don't need to rig the tables.
The MMs are not the same on the OTCBB as on a regular exchange. They are free legally to hold sizable short and long positions in a stock, with a loose obligation to keep a market in it going on. That sort of makes them more of a banker (or maybe a loan shark or a PayDay Loan) with more knowledge of company internals than other participants like us. They can keep a price up or keep it down. They're always going to get a cut because they control the bid/ask spread, and they are supposed to make money on the spread, but whether they try to make money by buy-low-sell-high, I dont know.

You're welcome.

Re the whole "short" idea:
I wonder how anybody could engineer a large short position in a penny stock for real and what would be the symptoms. Since that last big rally, the MMs seem to be maintaining a floor on the PPS of about 20 cents, not a ceiling, but I don't know why that would be either. They dip the price for a few minutes to boost the volume it seems, but thats about it. Why? I dunno, but it makes it safer to buy at the 20 cent level. Theres also about 9M shares held by insiders that could hit the market if there was enough volume, and they would surely like to see that volume at a higher PPS. Thats good too. If they dump their shares it would hold down the price so I bet they dump it a little at a time if that so as not to kill a developing rally. I dunno, but it all looks pretty good. Who knows, maybe we'll even fly. LOL
Fresh PR just out.

There is a new business plan updated to April:
http://www.flyecair.com/doc/VIVA_BusPlan_April2005.pdf
March of 2003, 2004, or 2005?
Got my HVYW shares too ...
Checked all my accounts. They're all there at about the expected conversion.
Nice to see. :)
thanks again, e^t
Its common stock. It takes a lot of volume to sell that many shares without killing the price outright, so it helps them to stimulate the volume temporarily. I got snookered into AXGI back before I understood the OTCBB, lost some and got out then got back into VIVI when I spotted a VIVI plane parked at an airport near where I worked. Figured seeing is believing. But it turned out it never flew. Paint is cheap.
Whether this is for real this time? You're guess is as good as mine. Maybe VIVI is about to hit a home run and then again maybe the SEC is about to suspend trading, its somewhere in the middle of those two extremes.
rookinvestor . .
It's all there for all the world to see in the regular filings:
http://finance.yahoo.com/q/it?s=VIVIE.OB
http://finance.yahoo.com/q/sec?s=VIVIE.OB
A lot of people used to believe in these guys. They lost a lot of money, and now a lot of people don't believe in these guys. Its not a bad idea to assume as a baseline that any PR from any OTCBB stock is pure unadulterated lying. Doesn't mean you can't make money, just means you aren't dealing with decent honest folk you'd invite into your home for Sunday dinner.
I'm afraid that the VIVI filings have always been pretty negative. In the long run, companies have to generate real revenues by providing real products or real services to pay real bills, and VIVI has not done that ever. There's always the chance that some of the charter revenues if they actually do exist will show up in the filing, but I'm not holding my breath. I do expect the MMs to keep the price up near 20 cents for some unknown reason no matter what kind of bad news.
Viva's behavior lately:
15 Nov 2004, a burst of 144 filings, 3.7 million share planned sales by insiders.
7 Dec 2004, the price spikes temporarily to a new 52-week high of 76 cents for short time.
20 Mar 2005, another burst of 144 filings, this time 9.9 million share planned sales by insiders.
21 Mar thru 12 Apr, Bob puts out 8 glowing PRs in a row, but somehow misses 10K filing.
The insiders get their shares for free. Assuming they got about 20 cents a share on the average last time, they can make the same amount this time around with a share price of only 8 cents.
I wonder whats holding up the DTC.
Thanks, e^t.
Today, Sunday 17 Apr 2005, is the published date of the website rollout. Funny publishing a Sunday date like that but thats what Bob did. Three phases (1) new design (2) online reservations (3) investor relations. So far no new design. Ah well, guess that didnt happen on schedule either. Tomorrow VIVI gets an E for a while, unless of course, they file, ha ha. Ah well. Tomorrow the HVYW dividend is due. Ah well. I wonder what the reason will be for that not happening. On the bright side, on Friday VIVI went from 19 cents to 23 cents on nearly no volume, which is a sure sign the Market Makers plan on keeping the price up, in a way.
e_to_the_t
I do appreciate all the efforts you have made for so long on VIVI and AXGI. :)
Goodness no, e_to_the_t.
As always I hope for the best. Please keep on trying.
