No, there are a few other players that are in the deal from the minors. It is the same reason that D-Backs wanted Jaba and Blue Jays want Jaba. No matter who hyped him there are teams that want him.
Well just the other day I was saying how well some of the KC players were doing for such a bad team. Sure I talk about the yankees a lot, as do many yankee fans. You talk about Texas a lot, their your team. Or you talk smack about the yankees. You just have a obsession because you don't like them. So you don't want to hear about them at all. So everyone is supposed to change what they do because you don't like them? But it is still ok for you to talk about Texas 90% of the time because thats who you like, hmmm, makes sense to me.
Don't know what changed but Jaba is on the trading block in a big time way right now. Yankees were balking last week about including Jaba and from what I heard he has been offered to KC plus a couple other players for Soria
Thats some strike zone the ump has tonight,On the inside of the plate to right handed hitters is a ball but the outside 3 inches off the plate is a strike?
One thing that Nolan Ryan is doing with the pitchers I think is one thing that has helped them. Enough of this the pitcher can only pitch this amount of innings and this amount of pitches. He wants to take the game away from the agents. Texas was mismanaged for a long time Tom Hicks was a really bad owner. He wanted the team to pay for his high life style and not put anything back. Like Excel said, Nolan gets in charge and is a owner that will turn them around.
Granderson is getting some good rips on the ball lately.
Sure, I agree it has gotten boring again. So consider it dropped.
I like antiques roadshow because you see some stuff and people have no idea what they have. I love the stories that so and so bought it at a flew market for 5 bucks and here it is worth 200k or something. I think that is so cool. One of my favorite stories was this one.
Seymour card table appraised by Leslie Keno of Sotheby's, New York and Leigh Keno of Leigh Keno American Antiques, New York.
A woman brought in a wooden table she had purchased at a garage sale for $25 thirty years ago. Leslie and Leigh Keno examined the table closely and declared it a rare Federal style card table, made by John and Thomas Seymour of Boston in the late 1700s. Not only did the table have its original finish, but its original label was still affixed to the underside. The owner was astonished to learn that in today's market her table could sell for $200,000 to $250,000!
And then a year later the Show did an update: The owner appeared at an auction in Sotheby's and the piece ended up fetching 300,000 or more!
I don't agree that it is always everyone elses fault, I have seen it, there are bad fans that rub it in with all sports. There has even been some very ignorent yankee fans. I even had it out with one of them. There is ignorent Rangers fans and red sox fans. People have come and gone. Yes, some Yankee fans to. You would be surprised. You mentioned you got private messages from non-yankee fans that want to post about baseball to. I have seen the reverse of that to. Either way, they should post. No matter what team they like, they shouldn't get jumped on because they are a yankee fan or a ranger fan or any team.
woe is me angle? Thats a strech. Personally I really don't care that much. However your general condescending posts to people because they don't agree with your point might be more of a problem then you care to admit.
I think everyone should have their own viewpoint. Just like you were so willing to let everyone have their own viewpoint when George died without making a comment on every single on of them. Like their viewpoint was wrong or something because it didn't fit your viewpoint. Heck, maybe if you opened your eyes a bit more sometimes you would see some people try to have a convesration with you that are yankee fans. I can say I agree with you 80% of the time on things you post. But because of the 20% we don't agree on doesn't make me a idiot as you claim Yankee fans are.
Yankees have brought their minors back up to steam. I don't want them to make any trades. Lee would have been great to have but beyond that I don't see any need to change anything. They have a nice mix of vets and young players. Jaba lost the 8th inning bridge but that might help. Use him differently. Throw him in a couple matchups against one batter or 2 and pull him.
oh and your open minded to others peoples thinking besides your own? When did that start?lol
I never head of American Pickers until yesterday as a matter of fact. It sounds like a interesting show. I am going to check it out. I think it comes on Tonight? I have DVR set to record it so I will get to check it out.
I have watched Ice Road Truckers and Monster Fish. I want to watch the Colony just to see if it is any good. There is so much junk on it is not even funny. I like River Monsters a lot. It is something to see all the places that he goes and the fish that he catches. Amazing.
The problem with Torre is he is what, 70 now? I think he would do a decent job for the Mets, but I feel he got way to much credit with the Yankees. I believe Don Zimmer was more responsable for how that team played than Joe Torre did. 1st things 1st though, Omar has to go and he has to go yesterday. Anyone can spend money on free agents. My 13 year old knows more about baseball than Omar does as a GM.
Never thought to look to see if a board was here about the show. I have seen every episode of this show. Thank you DVR I remember when it was 1st advertised I thought are they serious? A show about crab Fishing? That will be interesting for a week or 2. I missed the whole 1st season and when it was coming back on my old foreman couldn't stop talking about it. So I watched the reruns that they had on and have not missed a episode since then. Capt Phil I think was most peoples favorite. When he escaped death the 1st time I thought how lucky he was. This time when he didn't make it I think it was 1 of the hardest tv shows to ever watch. The way they do the show and you feel you get to know these people personaly even though most of us will never meet them. I hope Phil can RIP knowing his son went for help to fight his addictions and did so before he died.
The biggest problem with the all star game now is it is a popularity contest now. Some very well deserving players get left off. I think it should go back to the way it was before.
lol yea, good point. They are still Texas and can fall and will fall some. Angels will pull it together. I would be shocked if that race didn't tighten up.
He is in such a hurry to get back and I wish he wouldn't be. It makes me think more and more that his plan is to retire at the end of the season weather the Yankees can make it to the series and win or not.
The Red SOX whining about the Yankees spending and here they are a billion dollar team? It is obvious all that whining is because they want to be like so many of the owners and just pocket the money instead of putting it in the team. Whining is just a smoke screen.
Wow, relax, don't be so touchy. Of course we do, in fact I just was. It is ok.
Excel. I think you need to open up more and say how you really feel..lol
I think so many of these players think they are the game and the game can't survive without them. They want the big money but don't want the hard work. They think the sport will close up without them. The sport will live on. It always does. Yankees played the Royals this past weekend. I have to say I was impressed not just with how hard some of the royals played. But even when they knew it was over and there was a 99% chance they were going to lose when the game started getting away from them, there was a few that were still playing hard. Thats the way it should be played.
Another thing Jaba has to do is wear his hat like a major league baseball players. Not that flat bill on the hat, he looks like a dufus. He isn't 12 years old, he is a adult...lol He isn't out there to make a fashion statement, he is out there to pitch. Sorry, I just saw the commercial for the yankee universe fan club and saw the hat and I thought he looked like a jerk.
He got it to. em
That must have been awsome to have seats like that so you could see the ball movement live in real time.
It is a impressive video. I wish it was easier to find video's like that. It was a good find.
Didn't anyone ever tell you don't count your chickens yada yada yada?
lol, I wondered where I got that video, maybe it was from you..lol
You think about what Mo has done and done it with basicly the same pitch that everyone knows is coming it should show the young guys that location is a key. You have to trick it up a bit.
I think he needs to just come off his high horse. He has talent. He has a whicked curve ball but he needs to stop thinking he can over power everyone with a 95mph fastball down the middle of the plate. Those pics show good jaba and bad jaba, but his frustration is the other team keeps hitting the ball and he is frustrated with them, not with himself. Teams have adjusted. They can almost cheat because they know a fastball is coming. Now watch this video on Mariano's cutter. The 2nd half of the video is the best. It is all location, location, location. Mo's cutter is deceptive it goes to so many different area's of the plate where Jaba's goes down the middle because he thinks he can over power people all the time. This is a awsome vid that gives a good example.

Jaba trusts his stuff to much. He feels there is nothing wrong with him and that the other guys are just hitting the ball, really hard. He needs to get off his high horse. Chan Ho Park on the other hand seems bewildered and can't understand why he is not doing better. He wants to improve. Jaba thinks there is no room for improvement, the other team just needs to stop hitting his good stuff.
Well he signed for them, I think it was more so he was not very mature. It is one thing to be openly made fun of by fans and having the fans lose faith in you. But it is another for the players who usually say nothing about another player on the team to make jokes and pretty much say flat out they will believe it when they see it. I think at the end he really did try. But at that point it was to late. He is a much different player right now.
Yea The Angels got him but Friday we were very close to getting him. I think it is a awsome deal for The Angels. They are getting rid of a pitcher they thought was going to do better also. The Angels still have a shot. It is only the end of July.
You could be right. Saw alot of players settled. It is working out team wise for Damon, but he ended up settling for less than he wanted and not rejoining a team he said he wanted to play for. I think the Mets need something to spark them. I still say get rid of Omar..;lol Tell some players they are next.
It will come with Bay. After seeing him in action in big situations when he was with Boston he did well. I do remember seeing reports that signing him was a mistake from the talking heads and I disagree. Bay will end up coming up big. I agree with Susie as I have said before. I don't think Manual is as good as you feel he is as a manager. He is losing the clubhouse now. The problemwith that is this is the 2nd coach that is in that situation. I still feel Willie was better but this is your best Mets team in a few years to work with and they just keep falling down.
From what I am hearing we were closer than the reports to getting him. Jaba was one of the big sticking points. So yes, I am very serious. Yankee people feel Jaba is just in a funk and can come out of this at any time.
Arizona wanted him and we said no. We got some kids that are doing very well and we put in Jaba and Park and it turns into a circus.
Good answer by them to Texas getting Lee. Getting away from Arizona will be good for him.
The Royals flashing some serious glove today. Cano has hit some scorchers today and Royals keep coming up with the ball.
