It would seem to me that ARTS would want to answer the questions regarding this PR, as it appears to be very misleading.
Not me. I've been in at a good price, and am now just sitting and waiting, like most others. But I'm not going to stop doing my DD. Since I am unable to go to Dallas and ask questions directly (and no one ever did offer to go with a list from the message board) I have called the company. I have been told that someone from investor relations will call me back shortly. Like others who care about their investments, I want to find out for myself what is fact and what is fiction. I have a lot at stake here, and I want ARTS to succeed for both themselves and for me. When I was young, I was gullible, but you learn as you grow older to take everything with a grain of salt, to ask questions when in doubt, and to never disregard your gut feelings.
GLTA
Giving up??? I don't think that's what any of us are saying or doing. We just want answers to questions, and none of that is happening right now. If you're comfortable with the PRs that contain no real substance, with the projects that have been hanging for 6, 8 and 10 months without being completed, with promises that "this is going to be big", then good for you. I want the company to show me that things ARE being completed, because otherwise they're just blowing in the wind, and the 20+K I've put into this stock was wasted. After all of this time, something NEEDS to be happening. Period.
For those who can drop everything and run to Texas for the open house, great. I don't expect that a lot is going to transpire there, although I'm sure a lot of dreams will be talked about. Dreaming is great - making it a reality is work, and that's what I want to see at this point.
I emailed EV two days ago, asking him to explain the PR you have posted here. I have not received a response from anyone yet. I plan to call later this morning, and will post the response so everyone is kept in the loop. Of course, it's possible no one will answer, as they're probably decorating for tomorrow's open house.
Seriously, though, I am surprised that this doesn't seem to be a concern to most on this board. If ARTS purchased a huge facility two years ago, why are they leasing another one now? Clearly they did not move the company into a 35,000 square foot building in 2008 - is there a news release somewhere in the archives that states why it fell through? I'm not trying to be negative - I just want clear, factual statements about what the company has done and is doing, not misleading information.
You are right on, Pete. It's important to keep it real. Many of us believe that good things are going to happen here, otherwise we wouldn't be putting hard-earned money into this stock. But this is a waiting game, and all we can really do at this point is keep an eye on this so we're ready when it does hit.
I'm not going to keep resending the email regarding the 2008 PR. If I don't hear back by the end of today, I'll call the company. It would seem to me that they would want to explain what happened with the alleged purchase of a facility in 2008.
I have emailed Mr. Vakser regarding the September 2008 press release. I will let you all know what his response is, should I hear from him.
Very interesting. Looks like another good question to ask at the ARTS open house on Saturday. BTW, is there someone going to Dallas on Saturday that will ask all of the questions that people have raised on this message board? Unfortunately, I'm not able to attend.
Thank you, Serafin. I plan to hold to at least a penny, and probably longer. I have to say it's been quite interesting these last few weeks, even months, and I'm looking forward to seeing this turn around! GLTY
Here's a question. Why was there no trading done after 2:40PM today? My thought (and hope) is that it means no one is doing any panic dumping any longer, and that most trading done today was insider, keeping the volume as low as it is. But as I said, I'm still relatively new to this, and would like to hear input from those of you with more experience.
Could this also mean that we will start to see the pps go up soon?
TIA
Exactly. It would seem to me that anyone with money invested in this company should be interested in the reasons behind anything and everything that they do. As an investor, it is our duty to know how our investments are being used. I definitely wouldn't be comfortable to just blindly pour my money into a stock and never ask questions or do my DD to keep abreast of what the happenings are. And when the information provided does not appear to completely answer my questions, I want to know that I can continue to ask questions until I am satisfied.
You all have good points here. There is a difference in posting negative comments that some people post in order to bash the stock, and those expressing frustration with the fact that nothing the company has done in the past 9+ months has been able to move the pps in a positive direction, as Pete has posted. That's not being negative; it is just stating the reality of it. It has to be frustrating for the company as well - I'm sure they had hoped that some of their PRs would indeed boost the stock price. And they are trying to wrap up deals, I believe, but at the same time they are taking on new ventures, like moving into a new building, which may or may not work to their favor. That's part of running a business - you take risks with the hope that you succeed, but realizing that you may not. I believe ARTS will succeed in the long run, but I also think they need to complete some of these projects soon, before tackling anything new.
PRs may not always influence the pps; however, they are much more effective when they contain substance and leave little room for speculation.
It's only natural to get frustrated, and to want questions answered. I'm looking forward to what may happen after the open house on the 21st. I want the company to succeed - I chose to invest in it because I see the potential it has. GLTA
Thanks, MP!! I'm looking forward to good things happening soon!
Max Power, you may be right. Being relatively new to trading pennystocks, I will admit that I don't know how much influence anyone's posting on a message board can have on the pps. What I do know is that I prefer to read things that are based on facts rather than hypotheticals. Factual PRs that state completion of one or more deals is what I'm hoping to see soon.
BTW, the notification on the Artfest International website stating that the company has moved confuses me. The PR said that it was just Art Channel. Can anyone clear this up? TIA
Totally agree with you, Oatmeal, on all counts. I'm holding on as well, and keepin' the faith in ARTS!
VERY slow this morning. I wonder what's going on with OTOW?
Wishing I had more money to buy at the ASK and average down some more!
Hi everyone. New to this stock - bought some last week, and lots more today. I really like what I've read so far about OTOW. I'm buying at the ASK, and if more people do, we'll drive this thing north!!
I agree, serafin, and I know that I've been one of those who has gotten nervous and frustrated. It's hard not to when you have so much invested, and things move slower than anticipated. But, I promise to stay true to my name and be patient. I'm holding, and I'm keeping the faith in ARTS.
Good Morning all! Here's to a new day! Go ARTS, go!!!
Thanks, Pete. Now if we can only get some direct answers from ARTS on what their plan is regarding promoting this stock and ultimately moving this pps in a strong upward direction. Waiting until the 21st appears to be what we are going to have to do, but I'm not convinced that that is in the best interest of the company. Too many rumors of possible happenings come out in the meantime, initially drawing interest, but quickly fizzling as time passes.
My hope is that one of the things we'll hear on the 21st is that ARTS has hired a top-of-the-line PR company to increase interest in this stock, similar to the one hired by GOIG. I'd love to see fireworks as this stock explodes!!
What I’m seeing here is message board manipulation. When people post “Pollyanna” comments regarding ARTS stock, everything is well and good; however, if someone posts information that in their opinion could be related to what we’re seeing each day on the trading charts, they are accused of bashing, and their post is deleted. Come on, we are all adults here with the capability of forming our own opinions based on EVERYTHING that we observe. People seem to be posting what they think COULD be relevant regarding the T trades everyone is questioning. I don’t see that there is a need to delete posts that are of varying viewpoints. Unless someone here fears there may be some truth in them?????
What I saw when comparing an article that was cut & pasted (which I see done all the time on message boards) with MTs post regarding T trades was the following, and may or may not carry any weight – it is only my observation.
[Excerpt from an article published by Investment Management Developments in their Winter 2003 edition, by Harry S. Davis, Schulte Roth & Zabel LLP.]
What made this into an SEC enforcement proceeding – and not just a breach of contract claim – is that Rhino’s misconduct involved more that just selling Sedona’s stock short in violation of a contractual prohibition. Rather, Rhino hid its short selling from Sedona (and the rest of the market) by arranging for a “cooperating broker” to make the short sales in its own proprietary account. The broker then covered its own short position at the end of each day – after the markets had closed – by buying an equivalent number of shares from Rhino’s advisory client.
MTs posting [excerpt]
Now if you pay attention to the T-Trade Volume, it allmost exactly matches to the shorted shares volume during the regular hours.
Yesterday we had a little over 100Mil shres of T-Trades and the shorted shares were 108Mil, today we had 42.6Mil in T-Trades and the short volume was 43Mil.
If there is anyone who can comment without bias on this, I would sincerely appreciate your input. TIA
Very impressed with your finding here. It seems to coincide with what sl62 said before he dropped out of the ARTS stock. He said that another MM had been brought in to deliberately keep the pps down on the ARTS stock. We were so close to hitting the first trigger just a couple of weeks ago, and really should have. Things sure would be different for all of us if that MM had not come into the mix. ARTS should get on top of this fast, as it has really hurt them, I believe. MMs should not be allowed to manipulate the stock to this extent.
not ok the last time I checked the TOU reminders
I agree; however, it is the MMs who are controlling the pps right now, and they are not holding to higher ASKS because they do not have the confidence in the stock right now, IMO. Once that is established, through some of the options I mentioned, I think we will see the pps go up.
Same old song & dance with ARTS this morning. I really think that the pps is going to stay stalled here until some of these deals/projects/productions come to fruition. There is no real interest in this stock right now from big investors, and that’s why we’re seeing very small amounts at 0006 and no upward movement, IMO.
To say that a deal/project/production is “going to happen” as opposed to “is happening” or “is complete” is comparing apples to oranges, not potatoes to potahtos. ARTS is very ambitious, and has some great deals in the making, and that’s why I’ve invested as much as I have into this stock. When these deals reach completion, that’s when we’ll see the interest skyrocket, as well as the pps, IMHO. Until then, I hope everyone is willing and able to tread water.
Secondly, the fact that this stock has been diluted to the extent that it has, needs to be addressed and rectified by the company. Another R/S would completely destroy the stock, as I’ve said before. The company needs to do something positive to begin driving the pps back up, like buying back some of the stock and/or hiring a public relations firm to seriously promote the stock. PRs that contain real substance, instead of suggesting possible happenings will also help, again IMO.
It will be interesting to see what transpires at the reception for shareholders on the 21st, because I would imagine that there are many frustrated shareholders at this point. I wish I were able to attend, so I could see and hear firsthand, rather than rely on what is posted here afterwards.
GLTA
Wishful thinking that the dancing would be done, I guess. I am soooo looking forward to when it does take off! Good luck to you as well!
MMs are still doing the dance, I see. I was hoping they would start climbing....really thought we'd at least see 0007 today.
Sorry to hear that, specutator. You have added a semblance of balance to the postings! ;)
Thank you, bgdreamz. I knew I had that recently as well, but couldn't locate it. This is why I keep emphasizing that ARTS needs to complete some of its projects. I would love to be seeing some ads for Rhupert now, as the fall season is quickly approaching. Get kids and parents excited several weeks before programming is to begin, and the audience will be huge, IMO. Huge audience = more interest in ARTS = more investors = increase in stock value, IMO.
I wish they wouldn't cave to the bid - hold the ask, and make them come up!!
Come on, ARTS! Let's keep the ticks moving up, up, up! Prove to us that this stock can do more than the sidestep!!
I don't see that this stock is "going up" yet, as you say. It's been moving sideways for quite a while now. I hope that it does begin to move up, as I'm sure other shareholders are anxious to see. Artfest International still seems to be a very promising company with huge potential, IMO.
It will be interesting to see what comes out of the auction/reception on the 21st. I'm hoping for lots of good things.
Go ARTS!
We shall see, Oatmeal. It looks as though the MMs are setting up for another day of floating between 0005 and 0006, which doesn't boost my confidence. Hopefully we'll both be (very) pleasantly surprised within the next few weeks. A R/S at this point would kill this stock entirely, IMO, and I truly hope that that is not what is in the making.
GLTY
I would like to think that you're right, but I won't be convinced until the pps starts moving up steadily. Instead of sailing in a strong, upward current, this boat's been caught in a swirling eddy (no pun intended EV) for several weeks now.
I will admit that I'm new to trading, and I bought a lot of shares in this stock (55M+) because I have been impressed with what the company is doing and is planning to do. That being said, I also thought that there would be some completion to at least one or more of these projects by now.
The "big news" that we've all been waiting to hear has been an enticing carrot that keeps pulling back just enough so that I wonder if I'm supposed to be encouraged or discouraged at this point. It appears that now we are expected to wait 2 more weeks for the auction/reception to take place. I'll wait a little longer, because I've invested a lot for the sake of my family here. But you have to wonder when someone as knowledgeable in stock trading as Sl62 decides it's time to pull out.
Praying for some positive movement - don't let us down, ARTS!!!
Curiouser and curiouser....I would like to know what Stervc, MT, AP and Tenacious' thoughts are concerning the EOD trading activity and it's possible relativity to the anticipated "big news" we keep hearing reference to.
Credible rumors are nice....credible PRs are even better! Keeping my fingers crossed for some news soon!
Go ARTS! Hit us with the news!!!!
I agree with you, liontamer (and MT). If we want to see this run soon, and begin making some REAL $$$, we need to be buying at the ask!
Smart - I hadn't thought of that. Thanks for your viewpoint! glty
