Question for anyone: will the company make a formal announcement of patent approvals? (I hope so..)
Ben, fellow shareholders, FYI
http://americanfraud.blogspot.com/2010/05/another-fda-warning-letter-for-johnson.html
I've been following the JNJ news for a while now. Some of their problems are about plant hygiene and contaminated manufacturing procedures. I believe they've also had some significant failures relating to a hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) based cleaning system. They are clearly in need of a superior technology....
Let's hope we can make the Journal of Infectious Disease or perhaps even the New England Journal of Medicine (maybe a dream too far...). But being published in a respected PR journal should be invaluable in terms of scientific credibility.
New CFO for MZEI-TODAY'S news release.
wishfulthinker, now all you have left is to say when the 10 dollar bid will become official...but in the meantime why don't you tell us why you think 3M will be the purchaser...and why they will value the company at 3 billion dollars. TIA, Lep
I think we have to be realistic: if MZEI does not partner with a "big dog" then MZEI will be responsible for issues like servicing, warranties on equipment, distribution, sales, etc. I don't know how our small somewhat understaffed company could deal with all these matters without prior experience. A "big dog" almost certainly has this sort of expertise "in house" and would therefore be better equipped to handle these matters.
All this means is that our project has succeeded but we now need a partner to take us to the next level either via outright purchase, partial purchase (controlling share) or some combination of share purchase, royalty arrangement, etc.
We are no longer a gleam in someone's eye. We may be on the verge of being part of a real business.
Expertise is therefore essential from here on, IMO.
WD, I agree that the purchaser/partner of MZEI will reap benefits of the deal for decades to follow since they will be in on the ground floor of an entirely new global industry.
We would be an excellent partner because the R+D has been done already: our bacterial kill rates are off the charts, equivalent to sterilization. I think that we will see the advantage of having all those patents nailed down and in our possession. That's the gold! GLTA, Lep.
Well said. Answer=none.
Years ago EM indicated an interest in getting MZEI onto NASDAQ.
Major partner=instant commercial legitimacy, no doubt about it.
Major partner=instant commercial legitimacy, no doubt about it.
I agree. This was long overdue and it sets a standard for future communications with the investment community. I hope we'll be reading a few more of these well written expositions in early 2011.
When the CEO states the company's plans in a public document the shareholders should applaud. There is a strong intention here to create a diversified business with potential for application in many different spheres of activity.
The share price is officially irrelevant.
Very interesting stuff in EM's message especially the company's readiness to accept orders in the near future and the continuing diversification of the product line. We are clearly aiming for both hospital and industrial applications.
I'm looking forward to the next Chairman's Message. This is the sort of strong public document which a prospective shareholder can use to learn about MZEI. With new technology and a new paradigm
(sterilizing spaces and work sites) the most important task is to educate and inform the investment community. GLTA, Lep.
never-say-die:
true words! "Down the road if all the rosy scenarios come to pass and the market can project earnings none of this will matter. However, it's evident to me that the road is long with a lot of potholes."
One definition of life is how one deals with potholes. And there are potholes in every new venture.
WD, I don't think anyone wants to burn anybody at the stake, certainly not EM. And not all criticism is equivalent to wallowing in negativity. There's constructive criticism, too, and I think that the desire some of us have for clarity and professionalism falls into the constructive side of things. We all want the company to succeed. Some of us would also like to see the standard of communication raised since we know that if MZEI succeeds the company will have to be quite sophisticated and professional in communicating its mission to mutual funds, hedge funds, investment partnerships, etc.
GLTA, Lep.
WD, BenK:
We all want MZEI to succeed because we all want to do good-help the world-and do well-profit.
WD has been very forthright in his statements including his role in helping raise money and his own history as a shareholder. This is praiseworthy. But I wonder what would the reaction of a neutral third party seeking to learn about this company would be upon reading 15952.
Is the company really being helped by the technique of using shareholders as back door PR?
Ben, your final paragraph makes good sense. We need better communication (not a weekly or daily or monthly fluff piece) and some sense of time line in the roll-out of AseptiSure. Serious investors would like the exact same information, of course. Learning something about our government related projects would be welcome, too.
In the bad old days many of us said that the company's only product was rumors. Now that we are supposedly getting closer to some public disclosure about the company's plans let's hope that a new era of responsible and professional communication is upon us.
GLTA, Lep.
WD, we will all be happy if your projections turn out to be true. I have no problems if that's what happens, neither do the other shareholders.
But older shareholders (both in age and shareholding history) will never forget another era of moon-shot projections relating to Groundell-which never happened.
It's not a bad idea to look at past history. Rosy projections are great if they turn out to be true.
But what if they're not?
WD, can you elaborate on your final sentences?
"Very, very soon, the PR’s will flow like warm honey - not from within MZEI but from every corner of the world. There is absolutely nothing that can hinder this; nothing that can derail this; and absolutely NOTHING that can stop it. The “setbacks” are all behind us now. It’s no longer a matter of time, but a matter of fact." (WD, 15952)
"..but from every corner of the world", "absolutely NOTHING that can stop it" "no longer a matter of time, but a matter of fact".
WD, you are very bright and you seem truly benevolent towards your fellow shareholders...but aren't some of these statements excessive? You have set yourself up to either be a great business prophet or a total dud. I hope it's the former. MZEI's past history (Groundell funding promises, etc.) have already been entered on the dud side of the ledger. TIA, Lep.
Various astonishing posts-such as 15952-have projected valuations in the billions, overwhelming and unstoppable success for MZEI, etc. I have no objection if these statements eventually pan out as the truth in the next year...but what if they don't?? Someone is clearly using shareholders as a
"backdoor" communication system. I couldn't think of a more unprofessional way of doing things.
The company should communicate through official statements, period. Again, who will be left holding the bag if these projections don't come to pass?
Reread the last paragraph of 15952.
This message says the company will have a valuation of billions of dollars....well, by my rough calculation, with 250 M shares out there every 1 billion of market cap corresponds to a sp of $4.00...which means a TWENTY FOLD explosion in the share price.
When your pulse subsides to normal ask yourself if this is believable.
I am an ancient long here and I think the company has made remarkable progress and has an interesting future....but the moon is not made of cream cheese.
Recall the last time a board member projected a share price of $4.00...and what actually happened.
I really think that this board has taken on some irrational aspects and we-the collective of shareholders-should insist on public and official communication from the company.
Let the barrage of tomatoes begin.......but if there isn't something overwhelming and shockingly positive in the next quarter of news releases explanations will be due.
This is worth reading-no mention of alternatives to antibiotics.
http://www.newsweek.com/2010/12/07/are-we-running-out-of-antibiotics.html
It's basically a private placement-advantageous pricing for the investor, no debt incurred, some share dilution-with some restrictions included.
WD, your final sentence ( UNSTOPPABLE, etc.) raises the question that 17yman asked you a while back;
is the coming big event under MZEI's control? And does the company have alternative plans if Plan A doesn't materialize? TIA, Lep.
It's your right and privilege to disagree. But what explains the drop in share price given your view that everything is rosy per your DD?
Disclosure: I don't know why the sp has lost 1/3 of its value recently. I have read everything on the company's website including statements from EM. If I were a new investor looking into MZEI for the first time I think I'd find the public statements of the company to be a mixture of enticing
(log kills, patents, etc.) and vague (bioterrorism initiatives with government, commercial prospects).
I don't know if I'd have enough information at hand to make a purchase decision at this time.
17 yr man, in this world down is up and up is down and asking rational evidence based questions is taboo. You would think that at the very least the management might issue a statement saying something like, "The recent drop in the company's share price does not reflect a fundamental change in our business plan or our future prospects."
TEB: institutional investors=mutual funds, pension plans, privately managed money, etc. These are the people you want to attract as buyers of the stock. Mammoth's investment is more like a form of private placement and I'm sure they're not giving MZEI a 10M LOC out of the goodness of their hearts.
Without large institutional participation, though, it will probably be a struggle to push the price up to where we hope it will be in 12-18 months. The people who make purchase decisions for mutual funds have to be able to justify their actions to the management of the mutual fund and to their clients.
Thanks on behalf of the shareholders, Spumoni.
skyhook, I think we're all wondering exactly what Eversull is doing to spread the word about MZEI.
WD, I appreciate your viewpoint...but it's the viewpoint of someone who's very engaged with MZEI and who knows a great deal about it.
IMO, the real question is how our PR releases look to those who don't know much about MZEI or its mission. This is where we've not succeeded-getting new investors to consider buying shares in MZEI and learning about the sorts of problems our technology will (hopefully) address.
WD, why don't you give us your ideas on what will be happening in January and why the first quarter of 2011 looks so promising from your perspective. TIA, Lep.
In that case the CEO should publicly state the company's plans to do "business in a positive way".
And there should be a halt to backdoor private communication and rumor-mongering about how great the future will be. None of this will be taken seriously by institutional investors and those are the ones we need to start participating in MZEI.
This would be an appropriate time for the CEO to publicly address the issue of the share price.
I bet that if we'd had a pool on the sp not one person would have imagined that we'd be stuck around 20 cents after obtaining a 10M LOC and obtaining such good log kill results in preliminary testing.
Right now we don't seem to have a strategy for attracting new investors....and isn't this one of the jobs we expected the Eversull group to do?
I also think it's not a good idea to speculate when we'll be "in dollars". Right now a sp of $1.00 seems like a very distant goal. Everybody who's made their projections about the sp has egg on their face right now.
Final note: if management is feeding speculations about future developments to certain shareholders as a way of communicating with the board that practice should be replaced by written updates on the company's website.
But will any of this expected news move the share price upwards?? Despite the accomplishments of the last year we haven't brought in new investors. What is Eversull doing to publicize MZEI??
Branding is certainly important but even more significant would be to get in on the ground floor of creating the mandatory standards for enfvronmental cleanliness, i.e., "THIS FACILITY IS ASEPTICSURE
CERTIFIED". That would be mighty....
The common theme in hospitals, food plants, cruise ships, gyms, etc, is total environmental cleansing.
Radiators, air conditioner vents, shower curtains, towel racks, bath mats, walls and ceilings, food lockers, etc, are where the bad pathogens live, mutate and form colonies ( "biomasses") over generations and that's where AsepticSure will function. It's such a simple idea that it's amazing no one thought of this years ago.
You're not wrong. In addition, people outside this little universe of MZEI-heads are not aware of the company's mission or potential-so a 10M LOC doesn't mean anything to most investors. We have a publicity failure, in other words.
The other side of the coin is that this agreement provides funding without debt or options. It's not unreasonable, therefore, for the funder to gain some advantage ( discounted purchase price)-after all, it's their principal $$ at risk. IMO, a pretty slick move.
For those awaiting news, i.e., everybody-you can go to the company website and sign up for email notification of MZEI announcements. Look on the right side of the page. GLTA, Lep.
