I really doubt it. You see on the news about packages of drugs wrapped in layer, and layers of stuff, and they put fabric sheets and other things that are scented in those layers, and the drug sniffing dogs still smell the drugs. I have at times taken treats to the dog park with me, wrapped in 2 baggies. Before I know it I have a swarm of dogs around me at times, especially if the know I have given one to our dogs. I don't hand out treats to dog's I don't know. It's is not often at all I would bring treats to a dog park. I just use them as a learning tool, if I am on a training mission with any of our dogs.
I know, my dog's would have sniffed it out and found it..
and dog's have a great nose. So where did it go ???
It's Magic.

Chance and Charlie, their body language is scary at time. It's like they stop breathing completely, so then it's time to move them apart.. I for the most part try to allow them to settle their own differences, just don't cross the lines.
Thanks trax, but Charlie is getting a little too full of himself these days. He want's to take over as the Alpha of the dog's.. Ain't happenin...
Too bad Humans can't recognize that we are all equal in so many ways, and just need a friend, if a friend is simply needed...

First early sign of spring coming. Our 2 Cockatiel's started molting..
Personally Cassandra, if it were me, I would not worry about it. The Vet would do Labs, only to say they did not find anything abnormal, but you do what you feel is best... {:>))
Now our other Italian Greyhound Max. He has have 4 Grand Mal Seizures, pretty violent, but those 4 occurred over a 3 yr period. I again talked to the Vet on the phone, and he was not seen. The seizures were 1 min or less, then 15 seconds after they ended, Max was running around like nothing had ever happened. Max has not had one in at least 2 yrs, that I have seen...
Is it something like this Cassandra ?
Orin's cardiac issue is different form yours. He did not have a heart attack. he is in heart failure. A heart attack would have been better, because it is fixable. Down the road, if medications don't improve the ejection fraction of the left ventricle, patients then will experience issues with shortness of breath and weakness from just basic movements like walking, because the left ventricle is the part of the heart that pumps out the fresh oxygen rich blood to the rest of the body, if it is not pushing out enough blood, oxygen levels drop.
Orin's life vest has alarmed a few times. It just did a few min's ago as he was coming up the steps. I think it was because of the movement. The vest's ECG picked up on the movements, which the vest saw as a cardiac arrhythmia happening. A cardiac arrhythmia is a rhythm that need to shocked in order to convert back to a normal rhythm. It alarms loudly, and says " stand back, a shock is about to be delivered " If you are conscious, you must disarm the unit, so it does not give you a shock. It you are truly in a bad heart rhythm, you will not be conscious. If this makes sense to you. I totally understand it. When it alarmed just 10 min's ago, Orin disarmed it, then I told him to push a certain button, that will run a 45 second ECG, and then it gets transmitted to the company in PA, in which all of his 3 heart MD's can pull up and look at. In all honesty, if the heart failure becomes worse, where even walking becomes a struggle, the only fix is a heart transplant... All of Orin's MD's are hopeful that that time is very far off because he has age on his side. Orin is only 41.
Thanks. Sitting around the home is not doing any good...
Hi Flo, Orin is doing fine. He feels the same today as he did 5-10 yrs ago. Meaning he feels nothing has ever changed, but it has. His Left Ventricle of the heart, one of the most important chambers, it's the chamber that receives the Oxygenated blood from the lungs to that part of the heart, then the left ventricle pumps it back to the body. A normal pumping ejection fraction of the LV is 65% or above, Orin's is pushing out only 15-20%, yet his oxygen levels are at 100%, he is not winded at all with movement, he feels just fine. However he is at very high risk of what is called Sudden Cardiac Arrest/ Sudden Cardiac Death. That is why he is wearing an external Defibrillator now, and they most likely will place an internal in sometime soon.
We just need to get him back to work. There is no reason for him to be sitting around the home like this now. He needs to get back to what he loves doing, teaching, and get his mind off of all of this gloom and doom. His Heart Failure MD said he has HS kid's with sever Hear Failure just as bad as Orin's is, and they are playing HS Basketball. Point is, as long as you are feeling good, keep doing what you like to do.......

It looks like a backwards sports bra...
Thanks Andy and all for the well wishes.
Yesterday they put Orin on a Beta Blocker, it's a type of med that helps to regulate the pumping of the heart. Well 10 min's after Orin took the pill his BP dropped to 82/50.. That's a bit too low. So today the Cardiologist and the Electrophysiologists are going to decide if they want to stay with the same Med, and lower the dosage, or go to a different med. The plan was for Orin to come home today, but their concern is his BP dropping. His resting Heart rate is still a bit too high. So for now it's a balancing act of medications... Orin does have Cardiomyopathy and Congestive Heart Failure.. The only thing to do for this is balancing Med's....
Hi Andy, thanks, don't mind the post at all. Spoke to Orin early this morning. He got very little sleep because they came in 3 times during the night to draw blood. If you need rest, a hospital is not the place to be. He thought he would be going home today. I told him, " ain't happening ". He is so concerned that this week is finals for the kids, and he has a play he is directing that will show in a few weeks. His thought are all about his students, and not himself, but that is Orin... He may go back to the Cath Lab again today under the care of now an Electrophysiology...
I did not either...
