LMIA: Rarely do I get to say I told you so, except to my wife. Sold half my position of LMIA @$9.27 for more than a double, thanks for the free shares HWEB>
LMIA: Hot industry, 13cents vs 2 cents, guiding higher 5-10% sales, increased margins, cut costs, below industry PE. Why sell???
thanks HWEB
WMCO - HWEB, tried to buy some, cheap and would not pay the going rate, when I finally went after it, they ran the stock up. NOT 1 share added. Still long from your past mention.
Local Portland/Beaverton company.
In addition to the Warrants, there is convertible preferred stock as well. Even with all that, the stock could eventually be a major winner. In the past, one of the problems has been for EKCS to retain upper level management. The rumour has always been that Barchenko is hard to work for. His son Mark is no longer with the company and has been a 144 seller recently. As I recall he had approx. 120K shares and has filed to sell 40K or so. Don't know why he is gone, would be interesting to find out. If they could keep quality management inplace and not rely so heavily on Barchenko to sell with his years of contacts, then this could rocket.
Right industry, right time, terrorism is never going to end, just get worse. Nuclear power will be back in vogue and they have systems that they sell for power plants, etc.
If you can hang in long term, then buying under $2.00 will be richly rewarded.
I have followed this company since 1985! Painful for most of the time.
SHO List: Nobody is loaning the stock would be my guess. Somebody went short and has no intention of borrowing or is waiting on an excerise of warrants to cover the short position. Not sure, but I recall from long ago that a stock had to be marginable for a broker to loan out the stock... you might want to verify that if you care enough.
I still think this stock tests the highs of last year once they burn through the $1.00 stock and warrants still out.
** My memory is coming back, a stock needs to be in a margin/not cash account to be loaned.
EKCS - pnnymn: unknown quantity of $1.00 stock & warrants overhanging market.
Dumpster Divers: Since two of you think we will be eating out of dumpsters soon, I suggest buying some Waste Management stock. They might be planning to offer upgraded dining dumpsters with waitress service and a full bar.
LOL
OT Maxthon vs. Avant Browser:
I am going to ask Bobwins to meet me in a parking lot midway between Portland & Seattle and we will see which one is faster. LOL
Seriously, I have not compared the 2, Avant works well and I see no reason to go Maxthon. They both seem to have similar features. Pages do load faster than IE alone and both Maxthon & Avant claim to use less Memory to get the job done. The Avant download is pretty small so I see no reason to not give it a try.
BOBWINS thanks for mentioning the groups, I had not set them up in Avant until you mentioned it and now I have saved myself a few moments each morning loading my favorite pages.
RESEARCHER: re: maxthon: I use Avant Browser which is similar to Maxthon. IT IS FASTER THAN IE, see explanation below.
How does Avant Browser improve Internet browsing?
Avant Browser is an Application built with MDI (Multiple-Document-Interface) technology. With MDI technology, fewer system resources are used, web page loading is faster, and all opened pages can be easily controlled at user's pleasure.
OT: Chiropractor ROTFL ... Obviously you don't believe... I am going to play tennis shortly with my son. Could not do it without my Chiropractor, in fact I could barely walk if it were not for him. I am as big a skeptic as you will find, and most chiropractors have not helped much, the guy I found recently can make it happen.
Lentinman: Thanks, what if you were going to a chiropractor, would they exclude you from insurance or just put a rider on your policy not covering back problems?
I have a follow up idea and will email you about it.

Mike, Good Luck... How are you set for Health Care insurance? I find that getting good insurance without a business group plan to be tough. Have you checked into that as of yet?
would love to hear from others in similar situations on what they have done re: insurance..

TTGH - past due dil of this company shows pump/dump. named investors with bad histories. why would this Oblio company want this deal? if they wanted to be public they could easily buy a pink sheet or otcbb shell for a small fraction of the supposed net income they show. in the PR they admit they don't have the money to do this deal, but the parent company (formed in march of 2005)might finance the acquisition.
would love to hear the reasons why anyone should buy it.
someone started a new board for CRGO
http://www.investorshub.com/boards/board.asp?board_id=4187
cply is gone, maybe someday we might recover a few bucks on the new deal.
good luck
10Bagger / Short vs. Box: I guess you will be sharpening your pencil this weekend and filing the 1040X amended tax returns for those years in question.
LOL
EKCS: They published factual information about being selected as one of 4 vendors to 500 million plus of contracts that if fully funded would bring them big $$$$$. I actually read the release, then went to the source and read what they put out and still came away with a sense of some real revenue potential. Will they ever get all that loot, doubtful. They walked a fine line and with the help of some sleazy PR/IR guys made it sound more than it was. Meanwhile they raised much needed cash for the company to continue on. As I recall they got awarded several millon so far.
They recently received 200K of a potential several million from the Israeli Ministry of Defense. Not sure if it works the same way our government does, but hopefully they will see some of that money as well. Israel does not mess around with security and would not have selected EKCS if they could not produce!
I certainly expect the stock to go higher, they have to eat through the $1.00 stock and warrants still overhanging the market.
They had also mentioned the intent to move to AMEX or Nas Small Cap at some point in the near future, if they could qualify.
Steeledge $10.00 down the road? From your mouth to my bank account. It would take a major real contract for that to happen, but I will hold some shares in my "larrybaz - no sell account"
Short against the box changed in 1997. Not so simple anymore... read the following,

ot Bucfan: I have young kids, I am however almost as OLD as Lentinman, which is "old fart" territory. LOL... I am up at 630 am PST and watch/play/invest until 1pm PST. Then it's drive to tennis/play etc with the kids. Life is good for us old farts. LOL LOL LOL
As for lunch, I will buy if they want to travel to Portland.
Bucfan: EKCS: Actually EKCS qualifies for VM board as they tweaked the numbers to get a profit last Q. Someday they should start showing consistent profits. I think the stock is good for a run back to $3.00. Already have enough or I would have been a buyer recently. Bought LMIA instead, and glad I did.. Thanks HWEB>
eom
OT: Bucfan, can you point me to the EKCS posts? Still maintain a position in it. EKCS should be doing better with the terrorism events, still has overhang from the last promoter who pumped it. Oregon is spectacular, we love it here. No hurricanes, although earthquakes every 500 years (getting close I hear)LOL.
OT Yield/ PITT: download Avant browser and use the disable flash animations feature under tools. Brad will be gone forever...
HWEB: PDEX: What's your thoughts on the continued selling by former director? Is it enough stock to keep this one from going much higher?
LMIA: Moving back up after recent drop to 5.40, remind me please, what's the prognosis on this?
TIA
10 bagger: Small banks.
1. Why would a small bank do poorly by being a mortgage broker? A broker does not hold the paper, no servicing issues. If you originate loans and keep them, then rates move up on you, is'nt that how banks get hurt? Also banks that ramp up to sell and service loans get hurt when the business falls off and they are overbuilt in the mortgage department. PLEASE expain.
2. Whores! They are the best business in a small town. Low overhead, outfront about what they do, please the customers, who keep COMING back for more. <g>
LEN/OTC - BK.... not an expert, but the company would need to include equity sales as part of the bk plan filed with the court. If the judge says go... they can do it.
Len: "So, either way you look at it, our group is between +9% and +10% while the major indexes are less than 4%. So far, so good."
What happens when you factor in the risk of our portfolio versus the diversification of the indexes and the liquidity. You could throw $250K into the QQQQ's and sell them 1 minute later. Try that with PDGE, etc. I have no idea how to adjust your numbers for it, but it seems needed to make a real apples to apples comparison.
bobwins: Cramer: Cramer stated that Q4 would be the time for semi equipment companies. I find him entertaining, don't really follow his advice.
OT: Stylecounciler: "the key, to me, is to not be average." - Like your style, we share the same thought!!!!!!!!

check out amb on the NYSE... it is one I knew very well. the guy's who started it are very sharp. don't follow it anymore, but the price appreciation along with the dividend yield since they went public has been very good. I could have bought all I wanted at $18.00, it is now $44.00 with a nice 4% dividend.
bryaN44118: If you are for real, put the 1,000 in a money market fund and chill out. This is the wrong board for day trader wannabe's. Most day traders get wiped out.

kozuh: "dishonest crook !!!" This would imply that they were legit, or are they cheating other crooks? Sounds like some kind of double negative.
SSKILLZ1 / LENTINMAN --- suggestion for future contests... start mid month and end mid month. eliminate month end price manipulation. also skip december as an ending point, Tax selling headaches!
Thanks
BEIGLEDOG: don't think it really matters. i doubt that most people will own the stocks they picked by 12/31. i would be surprised if i own more than 2 of the six by then. i will guess that the winner is at 18%. i will also guess that my portfolio will be no better than 5% .
Pick 6: I participated in the pick 6, however I hope the VM board does not become "The Spot" for everyone to do a running tote board for the progress of their picks. Not picking on you OTCBargains, just don't want to have to read through all of it.
Thanks

Len,
Most states that have a lottery allow you to have the computer pick your numbers, that my friend is a quick pick! I would have gone for a computer generated pick. I waited as long as I could for HWEB's picks, but in the end decided that stealing 5 out of 6 of his picks was just to dishonest. <g>

Would feel more comfortable with a Quick Pick. Maybe next time.

Two sisters, one blonde and one brunette, inherit the family ranch. Unfortunately, after just a few years, they are in financial trouble. In order to keep the bank from repossessing the ranch, they need to purchase a bull so that they can breed with their own stock. Upon leaving, the brunette tells her sister, When I get there, if I decide to buy the bull, I'll contact you to bring the pick-up truck so we can haul it home."
The brunette arrives at the man's ranch, inspects the bull, and decides she wants to buy it. The man tells her that he will sell it for $599 no less.
After paying him, she drives to the nearest town to send her sister a telegram to tell her the news. She walks into the telegraph office, and says, "I want to send a telegram to my sister telling her that I've bought a bull and I need her to hitch the trailer to our pick-up truck and drive out here so we can haul it home."
The telegraph operator explains that he'll be glad to help her, then adds, "It's just 99 cents a word."
Well, after paying for the bull, the brunette only has $1 left. She realizes that she'll only be able to send her sister one word. After a few minutes of thinking, she nods and says:
"I want you to send her the word "comfortable."
The operator shakes his head "How is she ever going to know that you want her to hitch the trailer to your pick-up truck and drive out here to haul that bull back to your ranch if you send her just the word "comfortable?"
The brunette explains, "My sister's blonde. The word's big. She'll read it very slowly...com-for-da-bul."

10 bagger: ALY.... will keep an eye on it. The term you were fishing around for is "roll-up".
GAS: Echos I agree with almost everything Bobwins/Sheriff Len and you said except "But dont worry, $3.00+ gas prices will have that effect. "
That was said about $2.00 gas! Not sure at what price consumption will slow, but I think it will be much higher before it has a major effect. GWB & Co. are not the guys who will prompt change. Massive financial incentives to reduce consumption would have an effect. Give mass transit commuters tax breaks. Give people who work close to home more tax incentives than those who commute long gas guzzling distances. Increase fuel mileage standards, stop lumping passenger car mileage with SUV mileage for the standards. When I worked in NYC I commuted for 3 months before I could no longer handle it and finally moved close to work. Not sure how people can sit for hours a day in the car burning up gas to get to work. I much prefer the one flight of stairs commute I now enjoy, saves mucho gas! LOL
