Probably just a curiosity . . . You don't know either, so I guess it won't be causing anyone to sell their shares any time soon!

Maybe I'm out of place here, but it seems that what LR is asking is something like "what was that thing in that "comparator culture" that was unable to bring that dangerous virus under control?
Was it nothing at all?
A mild viral sedative? jk
A cough syrup? jk
A strong, but clearly ineffective viricide?
When stating that B is 97% stronger than "whatever" was used in the control group, it seems fair to ask what the control was. I'm sure it will be revealed in the peer-review articles.
I am pretty sure that this is a reflection of the millennial attitude of some - "take what you can today because the previous generation ruined any hope for tomorrow."
If what seems to be true of this stock turns out to be 80% accurate, it will change many people's lives in fundamental ways, and there will be many who will weep when they see the heights to which it soars, lamenting into their favorite cheap libation "I had X number of shares of IPIX back in the summer of 2020, but my vision was far from perfect, and I sold sub-.60 . . . "
Sheep have to stop being sheep and know what you own...
They can't . . . it is impossible . . . unless someone uses CRISPR, EDIT, or the like on them.
I feel your pain, though. Just got off the phone with one of those ("OMG, I've LOST so much money, my account is DOWN $XXX today . . . gloom, despair, and agony on me") types. I told this one - let the CFP handle your affairs and get out of the market.
Market down on COVID fears again . . . folks ought to be over here buying in the teeth of this dump/correction/short/profit taking. B dumps fear.
Frodo: "You're late!"
Gandalf (News): "A wizard (news) is never late, Frodo Baggins, nor is he (it) early, he (it) arrives precisely when he (it) means to!"
It cost them somewhere in the neighborhood of 5M shares to create this situation - out of how many traded over the past 5 days? Someone is scared spitless, but they hired the ones who know how to work the system best. Our ace is news, and there is life-changing news ahead, and, unless "they" have an inside scoop on when the news will break, there may be an epic squeeze coming. Hold what you have and buy more if you can!
If the data does not convince you, what will?
A short attack? Now, why would someone be shorting this little unknown stock? Purely technicals, right? Just over-bought and the RSI got too high, sure . . . And, the over-bought condition just happened on pure speculation, right? No data to support it . . .?
I'm sure one or two of you have been in on a purely technical short (TSLA at 970 - 1st time), but you cover and move on . . . so let's see how this plays out. I don't think this is purely technical, but more than one BP sees a significant revenue upset on the horizon OR a big capital expenditure . . . gotta slow the roll until the ducks get lined up.
One can only wonder what happened to the "grey-market death" thesis . . . The band plays on, but in this case, no ship is sinking; rather, a hot air balloon is rising in spite of the ropes that are being held. Pretty soon the balloon will lift all "ropies" to the moon.
It looks like Mr. Berman may have a test after all!
Everyone I have told about IPIX is really excited about today's drop . . . hoping they get more . . . which will further reduce the float and expedite any future short squeeze as well as enhancing the trajectory of upward movement. I'm sure all of your friends and associates feel the same way. Glass half-full . . . soon to be a cup that "runneth over"
Look at that spread .45 x .48 - and NO games are being played! LOL
Added. THANK YOU!
Don't underestimate the power of irrational exuberance, also called FOMO or MOMO, depending on circumstances. We see it across the markets where some stock have ridiculous valuations related to what they actually produce and sell.
How long is the list of companies that might have a vested interest in shorting the heck out of this stock for more than one, perhaps even competing, reason(s)? At least, the conditional might be: we short it to a) keep them from being able to raise significant capital, or b) to keep the price low enough to load bigly. The old short-cover-buy strategy.
At some point, with the right additional news, the covering (based on the daily report here of shorting activity) will begin in earnest and lead to very interesting price action.
Si Señor!
Billy10us - well said . . . and congratulations! Because it IS a treatment, it will make the fear of getting the disease less terrifying (for many) and allow the economy to focus on its own rebuilding without further massive lock-downs. So much to gain here . . .
I think the FDA wants requests for BT to be submitted around the end of P2, if I remember correctly.
Something like this:
1. Funding announcement = > $80M
2. Peer Review Articles Published (near simultaneous)
3. P2 approval from FDA + initiation
4. Superb clinical data
5. Breakthrough Therapy designation ("Breakthrough Therapy designation is a process designed to expedite the development and review of drugs that are intended to treat a serious condition and preliminary clinical evidence indicates that the drug may demonstrate substantial improvement over available therapy on a clinically significant endpoint(s).)
6. Offers or Commercialization?
That is precisely why I am here.
That is pretty much it in a nutshell.
I agree. The key is what sort of mania takes over the buying once all the MOAs and indications are known? Of course, by then, Bril may be in the hands of some BP ...
One of the things that happens as a company grows organically is the change of investing types over the journey. At various increments (e.g. $0.50, $1.00, $5.00) investors change positions. Folks in at .05 may gladly bail at .50, whereas a different type investor using different criteria will not even consider buying until $1.00 or $5.00 or $20.00. Some will ride the train for the insane initial, high-percentage growth and get off when it slows; whereas others want steady growth and/or dividends.
Being unable to see (but free to speculate) just how far-reaching the effects of B (and other in-house molecules) will be, we cannot anticipate the degree (yet) to which the stations will fill up with riders. I enjoy reading the speculative posts here, knowing full well that if COVID-19 resurges and/or another very virile version arises, all prognostications may end up looking like gross underestimates, both in terms of riders and of the price of the ticket for the rest of the journey.
That right there is funny, I don't care who you are!
For those of you who know Leo a bit . . .
Do you think he is sleeping more (and better) recently or less (and worse)?
That mask idea - that's a good one! I'd invest in that.
KarinCA - you hit the nail on the head . . .
Even IF some well-funded research group does manage to develop a vaccine that will squeak past the protocols, too many Americans (and world citizens) are too well educated to run to the head of that line. There are reasons why vaccines take years to develop . . . and human safety is at the top of that list. Plus, not much of the stuff that has been "rushed" through recently has turned out to have much benefit . . . except to the coffers of the seller.
Nice find. Thanks for posting.
I am wondering if the valuations (I know, they are just individual opinions) are based on the full pipeline potential of IPIX or are based only on B for C? It is becoming increasingly apparent that a more accurate summary may be "B for A" "B for B" "B for C" "B for D," etc. with the last letters standing in for all of the conditions/diseases that B may be able to address. There's a big adjustment to the valuation.
Very well said, Orion!
True believers know that these prices are chicken feed . . . Don't know when they are coming but it looks like dollars are headed our way quickly. And this has not yet been taken over by "irrational exuberance" . . .
And all this WITHOUT the knowledge of the grant, peer-reviewed articles, trials, partners, etc. . . . You gotta know where this heading!
Tomorrow, or some day soon, you may want to profit from "irrational exhuberance." It happens when FOMO takes steroids in a crisis. All the best estimates of MC and valuation are ignored and the "save the world" motif is taken up. Then, how does a rational anslyst value something that can save the world?
I'm thinking you are pretty happy then?
One of you smart persons wanna update this site? Give Brilacidin its own paragraph!
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/COVID-19_drug_development
An hour ago, I started to doubt if .30 was possible today, but now . . . maybe!
Y'all think the news may be starting to get into the right places? lol
It seems there was some mention of IPIX/Brilacidin on Bioworld.com yesterday (not a subscriber) - did anyone see it or post it?
Starting to see news leaking out to other sites and traders. I am surprised how many apparently did NOT know about IPIX. Assumptions can be costly.
