Robot’s capture paralyzes Abu Sayyaf Group — Abaya
By Aris R. Ilagan
Gen. Narciso Abaya, chief of staff of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), said yesterday that the arrest of top Abu Sayyaf Group leader Galib Andang alias “Commander Robot” in an encounter with government troopers in Indanan, Sulu last Sunday night is a big blow to the terrorist group.
Andang, born in Bandang, Talipao, Sulu in 1960, was immediately taken to the Camp Aguinaldo Station Hospital in Quezon City for treatment of bullet wounds in his legs which he suffered during a firefight with soldiers in barangay Panabuan, Indanan, Sulu, Sunday night.
Among the AFP units involved in “Oplan Robotic” launched by the National Anti-Kidnapping Task Force (NAKTAF) under Angelo T. Reyes were the Military Intelligence Group (MIG), the 104th Infantry Brigade, the 33rd Infantry Battalion, and the 15th Light Armor Company.
Recovered from Andang was a baby Armalite which, according to Abaya, is commonly issued to military officers.
Andang carries a R5-million reward for his arrest under Department of National Defense-Department of Interior and Local Government ((DND-DILG) Order 01-2001.
The Abu Sayyaf leader has a pending warrant of arrest issued by Judge Hussin Amin of Jolo, Sulu Regional Trial Court for kidnapping and frustrated murder.
“The arrest of Galib Andang puts a close to the Sipadan kidnapping case,” Abaya said in a press conference with Defense Secretary Eduardo Ermita.
Andang, along with 11 other Abu Sayyaf members, abducted 21 foreign and local tourists at the Sipadan Beach Resort in Pulau Simbalan, Samporma, Malaysia, in April, 2000.
Mujib Susukan, Andang’s co-leader in the Abu Sayyaf who was also involved in the Sipadan incident, was killed by government troopers led by Abaya, then Southern Command (Southcom) chief, in Sulu last year.
Based on the records of the NAKTAF, Andang was involved in at least 12 kidnapping-for-ransom syndicates since he joined the Abu Sayyaf in 1993.
According to Lt. Col. Amindkandra Undug, leader of the arresting team, they monitored Andang’s group for two weeks before they attacked their hideout.
Dressed in a white laboratory gown, Andang was transferred on a stretcher from a military ambulance to the Camp Aguinaldo Station Hospital.
According to Abaya, Andang admitted to him that he earned at least R10 million on the Sipadan hostage incident and he divided his money among his three wives and Abu Sayyaf followers.
Defense reporters who covered the Sipadan kidnapping positively identified Andang as the Abu Sayyaf leader who stripped them of their personal belongings when they interviewed him in the hinterlands of Sulu.
“He was the one who got my tape recorder. He even stripped me of my shoes,” said Benjie Liwanag of radio station DZBB.
Col. Rafael Ramos, commander of the hospital, said Andang’s condition has stabilized but that he might undergo surgical operation in the next few days.
Among those who accompanied Andang from Jolo, Sulu, to Manila were Undug, AFP Southern Command chief Lt. Gen. Roy Kyamco, and Vice Admiral Mateo Mayuga, AFP deputy chief of staff for personnel.

Research History:
MammaCare began in 1974 as a research project supported by the National Cancer Institute. The original research goal was to develop a program to teach efficient manual breast examination.
The researchers created a breast model that had a lumpy texture identical to the nodularity found in a woman's breast. They then developed simulated lesions that felt very similar to the type of lumps that surgeons considered suspicious, and they imbedded them into the breast models.
Finally, a training program was developed and validated. This training program teaches the most thorough, systematic, and efficient method of examining breast tissue. This includes using the pads of the middle three fingers, various levels of pressure and an organized search pattern. MammaCare techniques have been extensively studied and reported in medical and scientific journals.
The consistent findings are that these techniques produce significantly more thorough and sensitive manual breast examinations. The clinical data confirm that MammaCare techniques assist in finding the smallest meaningful change in breast tissue. MammaCare can help each woman become familiar with her own tissue and help each clinician become familiar with the various subtle changes that naturally occur in women's tissue.
What Every Woman Should Know: The value of early detection.
Competent monthly breast self-examination (BSE) is one of your best protections against breast cancer. It is now known that many breast cancers detected early enough can be treated by simply removing the tumor along with a narrow margin of healthy tissue.
In fact, breast cancer is generally among the easiest cancers to find at an early stage. Since your breast is an external and soft part of your body, it is possible to detect a tumor with your fingers, even when it is still hardly larger than a pea.
While women generally agree on the value of regular BSE, they do not always practice what they preach. Many do not know how to examine their own body, or they simply lack confidence. As a result, they needlessly postpone much-needed medical attention. MammaCare® was designed to solve exactly this problem.
The most common symptom of breast cancer is a lump. As a rule, the smaller the lump, the greater your chances of being treated successfully. Women unfamiliar with proper BSE techniques discover the tell-tale signs of cancer months and often years too late. The simply do not know how to "listen" to their fingers.
What you should know about BSE for your peace of mind
Breast cancer is a dreaded disease. Over 250,000 American women develop breast cancer every year. In addition, nearly 40,000 women will die from this disease. Every woman, regardless of personal or family background, age, or lifestyle is a potential victim. Almost twelve percent will develop it at some time in their lives. That is why it is so important that every woman should conduct a routine monthly self-examination, in addition to visiting her doctor, and, if recommended, having periodic mammography. For those willing to make the effort, here are some comforting facts.
8 out of 10:
About 80 percent of all breast lumps are benign. They may turn out to be simple cysts (hollow balls whose fluid can easily be drawn out by a hypodermic needle); papillomas (wart like growths in the nipple ducts); or various fibrocystic conditions which usually disappear after menopause. Remember that most breasts feel "lumpy" at times.
4 out of 5:
More than 80 percent of all cancerous lumps are found by women themselves. The better their training in BSE, the more likely that will happen while the lump is at an early stage.
9 out of 10:
More than nine out of ten women treated for early breast cancer will be alive and well five years later. The long range outlook improves with each year that passes without evidence of further growth. Monthly breast examinations, such as MammaCare®, as well as periodic medical check-ups and mammography are the best protective measures currently available.
Unfortunately, most tumors brought to the doctor's attention are an inch or more in diameter. At this size, the lymph nodes may also be involved, increasing the chances that the disease has spread to the other breast or other parts of the body. If you find a lump, see your doctor at your earliest opportunity.

"Added Stewart Kawamura, National Sales Manager, ``As a result of our realignment of brands and their respective channels of distribution, we will not be shipping Hot Tuna(r) into the core shops such as Zumiez and Tilly's as previously announced. Synthetic Blood International Announces Television News Coverage
COSTA MESA, Calif., Dec 2, 2003 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Synthetic Blood
International Inc. (OTCBB: SYBD), announced today that the company was featured
on a local news program broadcast last week by a local cable television station
serving Southern California.
The focus of the story was Oxycyte(TM), the company's perfluorocarbon based
blood substitute and therapeutic oxygen carrier, which is in the final stages of
the Phase I human safety study.
"This is timely coverage because we started the final part of the Phase I study
today. This involves dosing at the third and highest level in the last group of
study participants. The results thus far have been good and consistent with our
expectations," says Robert Nicora, SYBD president. "The independent study site
is on track to complete the study by the end of the year."
Last month, the Los Angeles Times Costa Mesa Daily Pilot reported on the
progress of clinical testing for Oxycyte. The company plans to post the cable
news Oxycyte report on its Web site, www.sybd.com, in the near future
While the company has sufficient capital to complete the Phase I study as well
as at least two Phase II studies, the company cautions that there can be no
guarantees regarding its ability to raise additional capital, or to predict the
outcome of clinical trials.
In addition to Oxycyte, SYBD is also developing Fluorovent(TM), a liquid
ventilation product that may be useful in treating respiratory disorders in
adults and children. The company is also developing an implantable glucose
biosensor for the continuous monitoring of blood glucose levels in diabetics.

I believe you misstate the case. No hard feelings, however.
We - and others - have collectively been blatantly lied to by the MoFo management of a few comapanies, like LOGV (Dynamic Danny "..the quitter.." Mendez) and QBID (Feahwuss Fwankie-the-five year-Failure). The latter of which I believe you started the "..SEC FedEx'g Jihad.." on over on RB.
Both of those manipulative SOBs have been proven to be Masters of the "..Tactical Leak.." in support of insider trading and printing-press cert dumping.
If they get "..ridden hard and put a away wet..", they have it coming. You have to admit, in both Mendez's and Fwankie's case - it finally got the casual office visitors out of the company file room and shut them both up.
I haven't heard or detected any of that kind of crap happening with AVHC; which is a big plus. Apparently, management here has actually read the Sarbanes-Oxley regulations - which is a big plus.
John
I don't recall making any specific price prediction to you, Chuck. And, it wasn't until the EOY on into 1st QTR 04 that any results were actually expected according to IR - whom I presume you have called.
With the time required to interate the newest acquisition and the redesign/retooling for the THOEC, mentioned in the recent PR, that seems to make sense.
Sorry if AVHC hasn't lived up to your expectations to date. Development stage companies occasionally try one's patience. IVOC and SYBD seem to be climbing. Perhaps you could do better there.
John
Do you have a link to some information where you were advised that AVHC would be $0.50 by now? TIA.
John
ps: If you would have collected some AVHC at 0.04 the other day, you'd be up quite a it by now. These little "E"xcursions can be very profitable.
pps: You might want to look at HLSH. 0.10-to-$4+ in 9 months+/-; relisting sometime soon and a lot of upside yet.
Edulink, Inc. Announces Completion of Jaqkar Acquisition
SANTA MONICA, Calif., Dec 3, 2003 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Edulink, Inc. (OTCBB:MYIQ) announced today the closing of the acquisition of 100% of the issued and outstanding shares of Jaqkar, Inc. common stock in exchange for a total of 10 million shares of Edulink, Inc.'s restricted common stock. Jaqkar will operate as a wholly owned subsidiary of Edulink, with Roxann Caraway remaining as president of the new Edulink subsidiary.
Jaqkar operated as a privately owned publishing services firm and developed unique approaches to bundling an array of services which provide simple and economical solutions for complex content development and distribution problems faced by publishers due to the convergence of the print media and digital worlds.
Jaqkar's founder and president, Roxann Caraway, in defining one of the prime markets for Jaqkar's services, stated: "One of our primary targets is a very large group of accidental publishers, meaning firms and organizations not primarily in the publishing business, but nevertheless requiring distribution channels that provide constituents of these firms and organizations with access to the resultant digital content developed for them by Jaqkar." A current client example: the American Association on Mental Retardation (AAMR) http://www.disabilitybooksonline.com.
Ms. Caraway further commented on this market's potential, "According to the American Society of Association Executives, there are approximately 10,000 quality non-profit trade and association accidental publisher prospects in the U.S. Since over 35% of these entities are located within a 100-mile radius of Washington, D.C., we are now taking aggressive steps to penetrate this valuable market by offering our efficient services in a very organized manner."
Ms. Caraway continued, "We also have developed a growing market of specialty publishers which require their content to be developed and delivered digitally through either the CD-ROM/DVD system we have created or through a Web-based system. The integration of the eKnowledgeXchange system and our developed system provides a very unique and compelling opportunity for us to capture this other growing market."
Edulink CEO Charlie Guy, speaking of the completed acquisition, stated: "During the completion of this transaction, we have, with Roxann's help and guidance, begun to make great strides in leveraging our combined organizations' strengths. Ms. Caraway's recruiting of the services provided by Harold Henke have been of immense importance as we begin to formally explore the acquisition of additional technologies that will allow us to better serve the accidental publishers market. We believe that these efforts will yield some very immediate new revenue generating capabilities to the Jaqkar publishing services division of eKnowledgeXchange."
About Edulink
Edulink's current business focus is on the near- and long-term opportunities to implement a series of revenue-generating products and services built upon our knowledge sharing system's core technologies known as the eKnowledgeXchange. The Company's focus is not limited to the U.S. K-12 market, but includes implementation in the international education marketplace as well as the utilization of these same core technologies to deploy revenue-generating models outside of the education market.
Edulink's core technology system, developed by its technology integration partner SAIC, and market tested over the last several years, is based on the integration of the three core foundations for digital asset or eKnowledge management: Storage & Retrieval, Repurposing, and Distribution. The eKnowledgeXchange will allow for the personalized secure and managed delivery of enhanced digitized assets or eKnowledge utilizing one of our four proprietary delivery systems: the Internet, CD-ROM/DVD, Traditional Print, or e-Print on Demand. eKnowledge is knowledge as it exists in a profoundly networked world. It is not just a digitized collection of knowledge. eKnowledge consists of knowledge objects and knowledge flows that combine content, context, and insights on application.

TORONTO, Dec 3, 2003 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- MAGNUM d'Or RESOURCES INC. (OTCBB:MAGR)
Website: http://www.magnumexploration.com/
Mr. John YEE, Chairman -- Magnum d'Or Resources Inc. a junior resource exploration Company is pleased to announce that further to the news release dated December 2, 2003, the management would like to report the following:
New Area of Interest... Sample #95477 which was significantly anomalous in arsenic also had our only anomalous assay for uranium. This is quite interesting for our geologists as it may be an indication of a strong polymetallic mineralized environment. Arsenic, (which can be a path finder element for gold) as well as the unusual diversity of metals was detected. In fact, the geochemical signature with such high iron content certainly points the way to the Olympic Dam (Iron Oxide) model of mineralization. The presence of fluorite with strong arsenic, barite, silver with some uranium (also high antimony and boron?) really makes a good case for this deposit type. The felsic rhyolitic tuffs in which the sampling was carried out also makes a prospective host rock for this deposit type. This gives reason for the management of Magnum to express its strong desire to continue exploration in this area.
Magnetite Hill... One of the main areas of exploration was the Magnetite Hill zone. This is an area of intensely silicified and oxidized calcareous meta sediments (micritic marble), belonging to the Lower Silurian age Onoot Tolgoy Formation. This silicified alteration zone contains pervasive variable concentrations of fine-grained magnetite. Concentrations of magnetite vary from disseminations to conspicuous semi-massive bands and streaks. Host-rocks have undergone intense silicification in association with a pervasive network of closely spaced, narrow, anastimosing chalcedonic veinlets. All rock samples taken to date on this zone are consistently anomalous in nickel, cobalt and chromium, assumed to be associated with magnetite. Nickel values vary between 425 to 1636 ppm, cobalt between 41 to 93 ppm and chromium 201 to 495 ppm. There are also significantly higher than background values for silver, platinum, palladium, strontium and vanadium. Anomalous copper values of 5 to 23 ppm Cu occur at this mineral zone. Based on the deposit model currently being investigated increased copper-gold values should be found at greater depths associated with increased potassic and sodic alteration.

Thanks cat.
I can relate. In engineering, we deal with so many subjects in a day, and on an ongoing basis, that the verbal shorthand combined with a little humor would drive most people nuts.
As for the typical RB'r, if the word hypersonic is mentioned in an El Pumpo post - the next thing is that all the yayhoos are claiming the stock owns shares in the Concorde or can't fly over the USA.
Too funny.
John
Check your iHub MailBox.
As we use both carbide and diamond core drills for core boring walls and floors to route electrical conduits and process piping, I rather thought that was the case.
I think some of the "..overly exhuberant.." posters on some other boards were also reading more into the word "..diamond.." than was really there.
Thanks.
John
Query..........
Perhaps you're reading this differently than I am, since I'm not a big minerals follower.
It's my feeling that a "..diamond drill.." is a type of drill (i.e.: a diamond encrusted or diamond embedded drill bit) that can easily cut through hard (granite or basalt) rock. That, as opposed to a drill of some kind attempting to find diamonds.
Again, I haven't spent much time reading all this stuff. But, a "..kimberlite pipe.." rising up from the earth's core is where diamonds are usually found - from my DeBeers exposure on The Learning Channel or The Science Channel.
From what I was exposed to in Colorado, copper, silver and gold would be commonly found near or mixed with each other - but I don't recall those mines/formations containing diamonds.
What are your thoughts.
John
Magnum Sampling Results Confirm Multiple Mineral Zones, Drill Targets Identified
TORONTO, Dec 2, 2003 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Website: http://www.magnumexploration.com/
Mr. John YEE, Chairman -Magnum d'Or Resources Inc. (OTCBB:MAGR) a junior resource exploration Company is pleased to announce that significant surface sampling results have been received from Rio Minerals Inc. (the Contractor) on the recent geological and geophysical work program carried out in Mongolia. Results and location maps will be posted on the website for detailed viewing. There are now four areas of significant interest in the two mineral licenses held under option by the Company.
Magnetite Hill ...(Nickel-Cobalt-Chromium) Zone is located in the northeast corner of License No.4767, and has returned sampling results of significant interest for nickel, cobalt, chromium, and the platinum group metals. Seven samples ranged from 0.05 % to 0.133 % and 0.163 % nickel. All samples were anomalous in platinum and palladium. The best values to date were 19 ppb in platinum and 15 ppb in palladium. A large magnetic anomaly that extends ESE for 10 kilometers was previously reported for Magnetite Hill. An IP survey was also carried out and results are pending. Geologists are evaluating a deposit model for Magnetite Hill.
The New Copper Zone ... was discovered late in October by Mr. G. Ganzorig, a Mongolian geologist in the employ of Rio Minerals on behalf of Magnum. Two outcrops 100 meters apart were found located approximately 3.5 kilometers southwest of Magnetite Hill. Four surface samples were taken here and the best copper assay obtained to date by all of the work was 0.429 % Cu in this zone of sparse outcrop. The precious metal content is gold -14 ppb, platinum - 2 ppb, and palladium - 8 ppb. The area surrounding the copper showings show conspicuous localized (epidote (+ potassic) alteration suggesting an underlying hydrothermal mineralized system. An IP survey was also conducted over this area. Results will be released when available.
The Copper /Gold Zone ... was the location of the best result from the May work program - 0.14 % Cu and 213 ppb in gold. This zone is a separate occurrence from the above zones, and is located in License No.4768, and is approximately 15 kilometers northwest of Magnetite Hill. Ten samples were taken in this area October/November. Once again the best gold result was obtained here - 118 ppb. Sample #95475 returned 6 ppb platinum and 9 ppb palladium respectively.
New Area of Interest ... Three samples were taken here in an area located approximately 3 kilometers southwest of the copper /gold zone. These were anomalously higher in iron than any of the other zones - 11.5 % Fe to 19.4 % Fe. The arsenic results were also highly anomalous - 0.17 % As to 0.29 % As. This is an interesting new area, which also shows the highest values in tungsten - 7 ppm and 4 ppm. The precious metals, gold, platinum, and palladium also reported well (8 ppb Pd in Sample # 95467). The second, third, and fourth highest molybdenum values of the 27 samples taken in this latest work program were found here - 10, 8, and 7 ppm. The best zinc values were also found here with a high of 96 ppm. The diversity of the metallic elements found here justifies a more thorough evaluation.
Regional Sampling ... Three regional samples were taken in the normal course of geological prospecting. Sample #95462 was the best of the three and was anomalous for molybdenum - 24 ppm, manganese - 1 %, high cobalt - 817 ppm, and the second highest platinum value of 17 ppb. The area-surrounding Sample #95462 will be examined more closely in the next phase of the work program.
Discussion of Sampling Program ...This phase of the program consisted of rock geochemistry with the samples being analyzed for 32 different elements. Eight samples are currently undergoing petrographic studies, and 9 samples are being re-run for rare earth elements (REE). Considering the size of the mining licenses (175,000 hectares), the short time spent in the field (3 weeks), and the scarcity of rock outcrops, the results from the 27 samples taken to date are considered by management to be highly encouraging. Along with the results from the geophysical surveys that were also carried out they will assist in the specific location of future diamond drill holes.
Mr. Reno CALABRIGO - President, stated, "It is very unusual to identify four separate mineral occurrences with excellent exploration upside so quickly, and with a very small capital outlay."
Mr. Ken SANDERS - P. Eng., Senior Geologist and Board Member is also pleased with the exploration results to date. Mr. Sanders stated, "That mineral exploration projects move progressively forward in stages verified by a steady flow of favorable results from the field. The next stage will include diamond drilling."
