AKAM looks good here~
For a starter position of 500 shares. Most of the indicators on the chart are showing upticks, and I got a CCI buy signal on Monday.
I'd really like to see it enter the gap zone and fill it from $25. up to $31. I'm setting a stop loss target if it looks like it will close below last Thursday's closing price of $22.23

King County District Court Captures Court Documents in EMC Information Infrastructure Solution Locks in Time and Cost Savings for Legal Process; Ensures Compliance with Court and State Laws)
HOPKINTON, Mass., Aug 11, 2008 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- EMC Corporation (NYSE: EMC), the world leader in information infrastructure solutions, today announced that The King County District Court (KCDC) of Seattle, Wash. has rolled out an information infrastructure for the fast and efficient management
and distribution of court records and other legal documents.
"Our document management system is a big time saver for KCDC employees and legal professionals who regularly access court records," said Andy Gilmer, King County District Court's Database Administrator. "Before, people had to travel to the
courthouse where the records were stored or the court had to mail files from one location to another. In addition to the time and costs associated with searching for and copying records, occasionally the wrong documents were placed in files. Now access is immediate and easy, making the process more efficient and productive for all."
KCDC serves one of the most populous counties in the U.S. and processes roughly 230,000 cases each year - from traffic violations and misdemeanors to civil filings under $50,000. One of the first courts of limited jurisdiction in the U.S. to develop an online court records system, KCDC is also one of the only district courts to provide public access to electronic court records and manages a large number of traffic tickets electronically. Today, approximately 350 court employees, prosecuting attorneys, legal aides and probation officers access the archives to retrieve court records from any location.
KCDC also recently introduced the Booking and Referral System. Also known as BARS or eSuperform, this EMC-based application automates the exchange of information from regional law enforcement agencies with the county when a suspect is booked into a county jail, or when a criminal felony case is referred
to the Prosecuting Attorney's Office.
"With our new eSuperform solution, some of our police agencies now report probable cause statements to the booking facility using their laptops or a kiosk in the jail and the prosecutor transmits them electronically to the EMC information infrastructure," said Gilmer. "We've automated the process to the
extent that human hands seldom have to touch paper documents and the documents themselves have never existed in paper. The cost savings are huge because countless hours and reams of paper have been cut from the process."
Working with EMC Global Services and Sierra Systems Group, a leading IT and business consulting firm, KCDC built the custom electronic court record solution. EMC Captiva(R) InputAccel(R) software is used to scan the documents into an electronic format, which are then transmitted and electronically archived to the EMC Centera(R) content-addressed storage system. When an
original document is committed to the archives, a unique, digital fingerprint of the document is assigned. If the document is altered, a different fingerprint results. This protects the integrity of each court record and makes it easy to trace the workflow history. Today, the KCDC has archived more than 1.7 million court records in Centera.
"With legal records under our jurisdiction, we must pay close attention to court and state laws mandating document retention," Gilmer explained. "Unlike the King County Superior Court, which is required to keep some court records forever, we have finite document retention periods. By using EMC Centera's intelligent
software, we're able to automatically delete certain documents when they reach 'end of life.' This has made managing document retention and deletion cycles much simpler and more reliable and ensures we're compliant with regulations."
Additionally, KCDC also uses Centera Replicator software to mirror the Centera archives to another Centera system located in a separate geographical location. The replication creates two local copies as an additional safeguard against data
corruption and other issues and enables KCDC to automatically failover if the primary Centera is offline.

SAN DIEGO, Aug 06, 2008 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- Iomega, an EMC company (NYSE: EMC) and a global leader in data protection and security, today announced the new Iomega(R) ScreenPlay(TM) TV Link, making it convenient and affordable to access multimedia content on any high-definition television or home theater system. Complete with full-function remote control, the new ScreenPlay TV Link features an easy-to-use USB port for attaching compatible storage devices and enjoying high quality movies, music and photos from the best seat in the house.
Smaller than a deck of playing cards, the new Iomega ScreenPlay TV Link is based on the same display technology as Iomega's ScreenPlay HD Multimedia drive, introduced in April 2008, and offers the same audio and video quality with upscaling to high definition. While the ScreenPlay HD Multimedia Drive features
a fully-integrated 500GB hard drive solution, this latest addition to the ScreenPlay product family gives users the flexibility to connect their own USB external storage devices to the ScreenPlay TV Link and play back the media content on an attached TV. The result is an affordable, easy-to-use multi-media
solution that can utilize different storage devices when friends, family or co-workers drop by with a media file to share. Compatible USB devices with the new ScreenPlay TV Link include flash drives, hard drives, and Iomega's REV drives.
"The ScreenPlay TV Link is an ultra-portable device that gives everyone a seamless way to share family photos, play music, and enjoy videos," said Loren Bryner, global product manager, Iomega Corporation. "The ScreenPlay TV Link turns any TV or home theater into party central for computer-based media content. There's no easier way to enjoy photos, music, or downloadable movies."
The portable ScreenPlay TV Link includes a remote control for easy navigation as well as a full complement of advanced video outputs for displaying high-resolution digital photos and video.
"We've created a product that's fun, functional and so affordable that it should be a 'must have' for anyone enjoying digital content today," said Bryner. "Using the ScreenPlay TV link to bridge the computer world of digital media files with
the home theater world of high definition television is a natural evolution of the family room and a great new option in home entertainment."
Iomega ScreenPlay TV Link Technical Description
The ScreenPlay TV Link plays stored media content from USB storage media such as flash drives, hard drives (NTFS or FAT32), and Iomega REV drives.
Video connection options include HDMI, component and composite video, and a SCART adapter for use in international markets. Audio connection options include composite RCA and coaxial S/PDIF. Using the HDMI or component outputs, the user can choose video settings from 480p/720p/1080i (720p and 1080i are achieved
through upscaling). Supported media formats include MP3, AC3 (Dolby(R) Digital Encoding), WAV, WMA, MPEG-1, MPEG-2 (AVI/VOB), MPEG-4 (AVI/DiVX 3.11, 4.x, 5.x/XViD) and JPEG.
The ScreenPlay TV Link measures just 3.26"x3.07"x0.78" and weighs less than 4 ounces, giving this multimedia powerhouse roughly the same dimensions as a drink coaster.
System Requirements
The Iomega (R) ScreenPlay(TM) TV Link is compatible with standard televisions and with high-definition televisions (720p and 1080i playback is achieved through upscaling).
Availability
The Iomega (R) ScreenPlay(TM) TV Link is now available in the Americas for $99.95. (Price is U.S. suggested retail.) The Iomega ScreenPlay TV Link will be available in Europe later this month for 79 euro.

American Bar Association Selects EMC's Mozy to Join the ABA New Member Benefit Advantage Program as Online Backup Provider New Program Targets Small- to Medium-sized Law Firms
SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, Aug 06, 2008 /PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX/ -- Mozy, Inc., an EMC Company (NYSE: EMC) and the leader in online backup for businesses and consumers, today announced an agreement with the American Bar Association to launch a new ABA member program designed to ease the challenges associated with backing up vital information. Through the ABA Member Advantage Program, the ABA is making available to its members special pricing if they choose the Mozy(TM) service as their firm's online backup provider.
"The American Bar Association sets the standards of excellence for the legal community, and we're honored to be a provider of online backup for their members," said Vance Checketts, chief operating officer of Mozy Inc., an EMC Company. "Mozy understands the needs of legal firms and reliably backs up
critical data for thousands of lawyers today."
IT staff at legal firms face many challenges, but case file and message retention -- and data protection in general -- are amongst the biggest of their headaches. Information loss can threaten a firm's existence, yet even the biggest investments in on-site backup can't protect against loss from natural disasters, theft, and user error.
In the past six months, Mozy's law firm customer base has grown 200 percent. The service is growing in popularity because it automatically protects digital information, including case files, spreadsheets, e-mail and financial documents, from data loss in the event of a hard drive crash, accidental deletion, natural disaster or theft. All files are encrypted first on the user's machine and then securely transferred to Mozy's remote data centers via the same encryption methods used for online banking.
About Mozy
Mozy is the leader in online data backup for consumers and businesses. With more than 750,000 users and 20,000 business customers, Mozy offers a simple, automatic and secure service for backing up data over the Internet. EMC Rises on VMWare Rumors EMC Corp. Rises on VMWare Rumors
Jul 31, 2008 (Fresh Brewed Media via COMTEX) -- EMC Corp (EMC) opened at $15.14. So far today the stock has hit a low of $15.07 and a high of $15.5. EMC is now trading at $15.45, up 0.41 (2.73%). After hitting a one-year high of $25.47 in October, the stock hit a one-year low of $12.06 last week.
Shares of EMC are trading higher this morning after a report in the Wall Street Journal this morning speculated that, based on a jump in options trades, EMC could be poised for a jump in the coming weeks. The report said some traders appeared to
be acting on speculation that the company could spin off its stake in VMWare Inc. (VMW). This could be a good sign for EMC.
Technical indicators for EMC are bearish but improving slightly, while S&P gives the stock its highest 5 STARS
(out of 5) strong buy rating. If you're looking for a hedged play on this stock, consider a October bull-put credit spread below the $13 range. EMC hasn't been below $13 for more than a couple of weeks out of the past year and has shown support just below $14 recently. The stock would have to fall by more than 8% to cause a problem.

Pizza Hut Answers America's Call for Natural Foods
With New Pizza Original pizza so pure, so real, had to be named the Natural(TM))
DALLAS, July 30, 2008 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- Pizza Hut is introducing a whole new way to enjoy pizza by delivering a delicious tasting new pizza to the table featuring all natural ingredients. With sauce made from organic tomatoes, toppings free from artificial preservatives and a flavorful, multi-grain crust, the new pizza is so pure, so real, Pizza Hut chefs just had to name it "the Natural."
"While customers are increasingly seeking options for more natural foods, they still love pizza," said Brian Niccol, Pizza Hut CMO. "That's why we're offering the Natural. It allows us to stay on the cutting edge of food trends while delivering on the amazing Pizza Hut taste our customers expect and demand."
With the introduction of The Natural, Pizza Hut will be the first national chain to offer a pizza made with natural, yet familiar ingredients, such as natural pepperoni and Italian sausage, that doesn't compromise on taste and satisfaction. The new Natural pizza also features:
-- Multi Grain Crust: Multi-grain crust baked from a blend of traditional pizza dough and five different whole grains, sweetened with a touch of honey and infused with olive oil. The new crust delivers eight grams of whole grains per slice, earning it a seal of approval from the Whole Grain Council.
-- Organic Sauce: The Natural crust is topped with an original sauce made from organic, vine-ripened tomatoes and natural mozzarella cheese. The Natural is so good that it's easy to forget it is free from artificial flavors, colors and preservatives.
-- Natural Toppings: Enjoy the new Rustica recipe with sliced Italian Sausage, marinated Roma tomatoes and fire-roasted red peppers. Or, choose from among other natural toppings including pepperoni, mushrooms, pineapples, green peppers, red onions and diced tomatoes.
The move to natural products doesn't end with the pizza -- it even extends to the box. The Natural pizza will be served in boxes made from up to 75% recycled material -- great news for anyone looking to add some "green" to their order.
This summer Dallas and Tampa residents can rediscover pizza by getting a first taste of The Natural before it is introduced to a national audience. A medium one-topping pizza is $9.99. The Natural Rustica pizza is $11.99

EMC 2Q profit jumps 13 pct, tops Wall Street views:
Wednesday July 23, 7:10 pm ET
By Jordan Robertson, AP Technology Writer
EMC 2nd-quarter profit climbs 13 pct to beat Wall Street expectations on record sales.
SAN FRANCISCO (AP) -- EMC Corp. said Wednesday its second-quarter profit climbed 13 percent, topping Wall Street's forecasts, as the data storage specialist rang up record sales despite fears that economic uncertainty is tamping down information technology spending.
EMC shares rose $1.71, or 13.7 percent, to $14.17 in trading Wednesday.
"We've executed very well in a very tough (economic) environment," David Goulden, EMC's chief financial officer, said in an interview with The Associated Press, adding that customers continue to spend on data storage -- particularly in markets outside the U.S. -- if it helps them save money or gain a competitive advantage. "We don't see it getting better any time soon, but we think there's enough demand out there for us to make our plan for the year."
The Hopkinton, Mass.-based company earned $377.5 million, or 18 cents per share, in the April-June period. That compares with net income of $334.4 million, or 16 cents per share, in the year-ago period.
Stripping out one-time charges, EMC earned 24 cents per share in the latest quarter. That was 7 cents per share higher than the average estimate of analysts polled by Thomson Financial. Analysts' estimates typically exclude one-time charges or gains, but include stock-based compensation costs.
Sales rose 18 percent to $3.67 billion from $3.12 billion last year, coming in about $100 million above Wall Street's average forecast.
EMC is the world's largest seller of standalone disk storage systems, a steady-performing business that has grown in popularity as companies need to archive more digital material. Regulatory requirements and an explosion in the amount of data being created by the Internet have pushed that trend.
EMC goes up against Hewlett-Packard Co. and IBM Corp. in the fiercely competitive market. EMC owns 21 percent of the worldwide market for external disk storage systems, making it the market leader, according to the latest data from the IDC research firm. If the disk storage built into servers is included, then HP and IBM would beat out EMC.
Illustrating the stability of EMC's business even in difficult times for the U.S. economy, the second quarter represented the 20th consecutive quarter in which EMC's sales grew by a double-digit percentage. That's a remarkably consistent performance for a high-tech company, since tech spending can be volatile and is often sharply curtailed when economic pressures force companies to pinch their budgets.
EMC cited strength in markets outside the United States with helping the company's performance. Sales abroad represented a record 48 percent of EMC's total sales, demonstrating how broad international penetration is helping shield the company from uncertainty at home. Still, EMC said U.S. sales increased 10 percent over last year.
Revenue from the company's storage business unit -- which includes data storage machines, software to manage that data and those machines, and services to support overall infrastructure -- rose 14 percent to $2.87 billion.
Business software maker VMware Inc., which makes "virtualiziation" software that boosts the output and energy efficiency of servers by running multiple operating systems on a single machine, contributed $453 million in sales to EMC's total revenue. EMC owns an 85 percent stake in VMWare.
Palo Alto, Calif.-based VMware reported second-quarter profit Tuesday that jumped 53 percent and matched analyst expectations. The stock fell on a lowered sales outlook.
Earlier this month, VMware replaced co-founder Diane Greene as chief executive amid the company's slowing growth and intensifying competition from Microsoft Corp. and others.
Analysts speculated that Greene clashed with EMC's management over the company's unwillingness to spin off its remaining chunk of VMware. EMC executives reiterated Wednesday they have no immediate plans to relinquish the company's majority ownership of VMware.
EMC also bumped its own sales guidance slightly higher, saying it expects more than the $15 billion in 2008 revenue it previously forecast. EMC's full-year profit forecast of 78 cents per share, excluding one-time charges, remains the same.
Wall Street is predicting profit of 78 cents per share on revenue of $14.97 billion.
Post-SP3 patch breaks Windows Update:
July 22, 2008 Posted by Michael Horowitz - cnetnews
(I got brave a few weeks ago and installed IE7 first and then SP3 the same day after creating restore points and backups. I have NOT had this problem described below, and all systems are still GO at this time.)
On two Windows XP machines of mine, the installation of post-SP3 patches has broken Windows Update.
I first wrote about this yesterday, when it happened on one machine. Today, on a computer with very different hardware, the problem repeated itself.
In both cases the computers had no application software installed. Each had only Windows XP SP2 and a handful of vendor installed utilities. Neither machine had any anti-malware software of any kind, not even a firewall (other than XP's firewall). Both were running Internet Explorer 6.
Each time I started by installing SP3 and rebooting. Next, I ran Windows Update manually and opted to install all the post-SP3 patches, with the exception of Internet Explorer 7. I prefer to install IE7 by itself. The patches install fine, and I reboot again.
At this point Windows Update no longer works.
As I suggested three months ago, it's best to hold off on Service Pack 3. If you feel compelled to install it, don't do what I did, but try installing IE7 first. It may not avoid this problem, but it can't hurt.

Yum 2Q Net Up 4% On Surging Sales In China
Yum Brands Inc. (YUM) second-quarter net income rose 4% on skyrocketing sales in China - prompting the company to boost full-year guidance.
Yum's same-store sales in China, where the company has had a presence for more than two decades rose 14%, while overall sales jumped 43%.
The owner of the KFC, Taco Bell and other chains reported net income for the quarter ended June 14 of $224 million, or 45 cents a share, compared with $214 million, or 39 cents a share a year earlier. The primary driver of increased earnings, was a 34% drop in the company's income tax provision.
Revenue overall rose 12% to $2.65 billion, but expenses kept pace, rising 14% to $2.34 billion.
The mean earnings estimate of analysts polled by Thomson Reuters was for 42 cents a share on revenue of $2.55 billion.
U.S. same-store sales grew 2%, continuing a positive trend from the first quarter, while U.S. restaurant margins dropped to 12.4% from 15.3%. Last month Moody's Investors Service put Yum on review for a possible downgrade, citing tighter margins and higher operating costs.
However, overseas sales have been seen the primary driver of Yum's future profits. The company expects 70% of its profit to come from outside the U.S. in 10 years, compared with 55% today. The company said in April that it planned to open 1,000 restaurants outside the U.S. in 2008. The company opened 95 units in China in the quarter and 160 in 20 other countries.
Yum now expects 2008 earnings of $1.89 a share excluding items, which is in line with Wall Street's view, compared with its previous view of $1.87. The company expects 10% overall sales growth, compared with the Street's view of 7% sales growth to $11.19 billion.
In recent late trading Yum's shares fell to $34.90 from the Wednesday close of $36.47.

Thanks! for the information Dan~
I'll look into these links and let you know how it works out.
Dan~I'm surprised you don't get any~
Pop-ups at all, except on an update. I get them every time I load a new webpage. They stack up on the lower third of my screen and then disappear one by one until avast has checked everything on that page. And here on IHUB is the worst because every two or three seconds the ads or something else update, and I get a new set of pop-ups.
They look like this:
Does anyone else using avast have this happening too? I've looked in Program Controls and have tried everything to try and stop this from happening.
If I can't get rid of these pop-ups, I'll most likely uninstall the program. They are VERY annoying~~~
.....Smoke 'em!.....
I installed Avast! Free Anti-Virus today~
And overall I rate it as VERY good, BUT the pop-up bars that show what it's checking each time you load a new page is very distracting and annoying.
Is there any way to disable those pop-ups??? TIA

ALRC would have gone UP today, not down 4.76% on this news...
American Lorain Wins Bid to Enter into Two-Year Contract with Yum! Brands:
JUNAN COUNTY, Shandong, China, July 10, 2008 /Xinhua-PRNewswire-FirstCall via
COMTEX/ -- American Lorain Corporation (OTC Bulletin Board: ALRC) ("American

has won a bid to enter into a two-year contract with Yum! Restaurants Consulting
(Shanghai) Co., Ltd., to distribute a variety of food products for Yum! China
Division's subsidiaries Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) and Pizza Hut in China.
The potential distribution contract will enhance the existing relationship
between American Lorain and Yum! China Division. Building upon its existing
business relationship with Yum! China Division, which was established in 2006,
with the distribution of French fries to distribution centers located in
Zhengzhou in Henan Province, which generated $680,000 in sales for 2007 and

into a more extensive distribution contract. The potential contract, which is
intended to cover the period from September 2008 to August 2010, is expected to
generate well over $20 million in revenues for American Lorain.
The potential two-year distribution contract, which represents 12.1% of Yum!
China Divisions' total imported sales of frozen food products to China, will
allow American Lorain to distribute food products on behalf of KFC and Pizza
Hut. The Company will distribute products such as cheese, corn cobs, waffle
crispers, onion rings, string cheese and potato sticks to regions such as
Zhengzhou in Henan Province, Qingdao in Shandong Province and Beijing.
"The success of American Lorain in winning the bid for the two-year distribution
contract with Yum! China Division indicates not only that we have done a great
job with KFC and Pizza Hut in the past but also exhibits the confidence that
large international companies such as Yum! Brands have in our distribution
network and services," said Mr. Si Chen, Chairman and CEO of American Lorain.
"This contract boosts our confidence in generating revenues from our
distribution network and services, which until now have represented only a small
portion of our total revenues," added Mr. Chen.

Who knew~~~
The Nasdaq would drop like a rock sixty points today?
No way I'm buying into this one right now~~~lol
I almost installed~~~
That Windoze update last night, and I'm glad I didn't.
I'm glad I checked this board right before I was about to install it because I have the Zone Alarm Security Suite.
My question is: Do I really need to install this update (or it's patch to fix the ZA conflict) to get rid of the DNS vulnerability, or is it an update I can skip all together?
My ZA Security Suite expires in three weeks and I'm not going to renew it. I'll get free anti-virus from Avast, and I have a number of anti-spy programs already installed, and I'll uninstall ZA Security Suite all together and install the free version just for the firewall.
I just went to http://www.doxpara.com/ and did the "Check my DNS" test, and this is what it says:
Your name server, at 205.152.132.11, appears vulnerable to DNS Cache Poisoning.
All requests came from the following source port: 5353
Do not be concerned at this time. IT administrators have only recently been apprised of this issue, and should have some time to safely evaluate and deploy a fix.
