Of course, if you'd like to print them in a nationally syndicated newspaper, or a "pay-for use" internet site, and make a pretty good living from it, that's another issue.
BDay43, my recollection was that Jim said no WIMAX licenses had been granted. I assumed it was that specific technology. Ergo, the sidestep with the DECT.
It did cause me to question the company Airspan (AIRN) which seems to be GTE in a parallel universe (without the Strat), releasing recently that they HAD deployed a WiMax system in Germany, with a German cohort. Curious.
Keep in mind, that all of this is from my recollection, and I can't remember what I had for breakfast.
Not to mention, IMHO.
Just a brief recap, not to stir the pot..
Please explain to me how GTE is going to do that from it's current starting point of $46,000 in revenue and net loss of -$734,564? From Huff's statement that you posted net profit(loss) will double every 60 days. From June 30 - Dec 31 that is roughly 3 times that it should double right?
So the net loss for VOIP should be -$734,564 / 6 according to your statement or a net loss of only -$122,427 for the year end, right? Well not exactly..doubling 3 times does not make it "times six", but that's O.K.. Let's make some assumptions yeah?
Would you say it's reasonable to assume that the absolute max the VOIP revenues could grow to within the 6 MONTHS left within the year is $1mm? Yes. Let's say it is since it took a year for VOIP rev to grow from $0 to $46,000, I would say that a $950k jump in revenue is optimistic.
So we have $1mm in rev by 12/31/06. If your gross margin of -28.8% stays the same why would it stay the same? this doesn't help because it creates a larger loss. Let's see what gross margin is required to reach that -$122,000 loss figure? In order to reach ~($118,623) loss with the constant figure of -$721,278 in expenses you need a gross margin of 60.2% on $1mm in revenues...That's a pretty ambitious improvement of 88% in six months.
Keep in mind I kept the expenses item constant from the 10-Q. I assume that you're not going to fire salespeople and be shutting down offices in a cost cutting campaign while growing?
Here's another question why is it that many people here don't do even the simplest of projections before believing these milestone announcements? who said they believe the ammouncements?
"VOIP revenue would have to grow at ridiculous rates (think doubling every year) in order to make a significant difference in GTE's fundamentals."
I think that's the idea...
" -- 30 June 2006: StrateVoIP Division, GlobeTel's IP Phone
Division, will reach positive monthly EBITDA and will double net profits every 60 days throughout the remainder of 2006."
"SIRI does not need to issue new stock every quarter to stay afloat."
SIRI had 1.41 BILLION shares OS, last time I checked.
considering most rabid shareholders posting, claim to have > 50,000 shares!
Interesting angle on German WiMax. IMHO.
Apparently these guys aren't trading on AMEX.

msturgeo, my take on officers filing to sell stock, is that they want the money, when they sell. IMHO.
nerd..arrows?? I gotta sleep with a fire extinguisher!!
Ya think Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton LLP would have had much work, if GTE would have said.."Look, we need you to work on a fictitious contract, with non-existent participants, about a fake technology. O.K.? Here, here's some money."
Seems like a short read, IMHO.
Ahh, the doubting Thomas...
I wouldn't think producing a paper contract would be much of a stretch. Those high powered attys in Europe weren't working a crossword puzzle. IMHO.
I think it's high time Mssrs. Jayson and Byron bring some light to this Sam Suleiman activity. I think they should both visit his office and demand an explanation RIGHT NOW!!

and heck, bring that idiot from tmc.net, too!
WayHaw, at this juncture, we can only hope that GTE is part of ANY event.
Looks like the "Seth Lord" is doing a little advertising for GTE????
What gives??
design, as you have implied, "investors" typically have short memories, especially when money starts flying around.
..fly the strat, get a hotzone contract, bump it with some FSS remittance and VOIP revenues...
AMEX hasn't made me a DIME so far, and I don't think they will anytime soon. Let's see what GTE can do.
Someone knows something.
..sorry, I just always wanted to post that.
PENNY PIRATE, in voicing agreement with your assessment, I would like to point out the tendencies of the human brain. We seem to take information and process it differently - I'm sure, due to numerous reasons.
Mr. Jones, apparently in a media interview, stated that he would like to build a commercial stratellite in a few years. He did not state that he would like to buid his FIRST commercial stratellite in a few years.
Just the facts, ma'am.
vkoenig, interesting. What kind of material is used to make a 100,000 foot tether?
"I will ride to riches or poorhouse."
Ditto that, Shake. Sorry to hear about your friend. The human psyche is a complex thing, indeed.
No guts, no glory.
GLTY!
Oh my gosh, we're half way to that "76% rise in share price" that sealed our fate as a scam!
Geez, we sure wouldn't want to see THAT happen again!
...and on NO news!
ehya, IMHO, I think that was Huff's attempt at saying his main concern is not chasing the share price around. To paraphrase his intent, If he makes the business succeed (which is his job), then the share price would react accordingly. He does not raise the share price, to make the business succeed.
This given that the world is perfect.
It is, however, not.
My feelings exactly, Mt.
dfmantx, not to be disagreeable, but actually, I DO get it.
I didn't say it was right, or fair, or preferable, or beneficial, or fun, or helpful.
What I did say, is : That's what it is.
We've passed multitudes of dates, uninformed. It would appear that that is the company's policy.
Personally, I don't agree with it either. Just trying to soften the blow for those that are loading up that aneurysm on Thursday. (again)
WIDD, just to keep things in perspective..from the company news release:
" These component delays will now, assuming no further delays, push the new launch windowto between the 20th and the 30th of August."
Note how it doesn't state that "any further delays" will be reported, nor does it mention the timely reporting of any results that are gleaned from the testing. In addition, I would think there is the potential to miss the "launch window", without much fanfare.
Although great ammunition for bashers, otherwise..not much of an issue from the company standpoint.
All IMHO.
RE: "kicking an apparently dead and glued horse"
Is it just me, or could that be just a WEE bit premature?? Albeit unlikely, looking at the current state of affairs... would it not be prudent to wait just a bit more, to ensure the brain is dead? ( and avoid potential egg on face?)
I guess Mr. Jayson is a confident sort. (or at least has better sources)
JMHO..
doc, although I think GTE has given me a bi-polar disorder, when you put it down on paper, that IS quite a lot of goings-on, that are floating out in laa-laa land.
I sometimes forget the amount chum that has been thrown into the waters. Looks like we oughta hook something once in a while, huh?
Oh well, either this thing will blast off and make MSFT look like kid stuff, or we go down the tubes. Seems like there's no in-between.
I've been poor up to this point..what's new.
samdashada, as it may have been mentioned before, my interpretation of the "subtle attempts at keeping us informed" is in regard to trying to letting rabid shareholders, due to their expectations/DD/research, know a bit of what is going on with the process, without sending an 8x10 glossy of the SANSII schematic to the competitors.
The thought of it not being a self-imposed, competetion driven, proprietary preserving, method of communication never once entered my mind.
So, in my opinion, it is not the ONLY way that the company can communicate. I don't actually see where that was stated by company representation.
It currently is the way they CHOOSE to communicate, which - again, in my opinion, is better than no communication; and a hell of a lot better than sending the blueprints to the world.
From the new Sanswire website:
"NASA'S official timeline doesn't show a full capability set HAAS until 2019. Sanswire plans on having it a full decade earlier."
Gotta love it!
Quarterly report definitions source?
Could anyone direct me to a definitive source on how to explain to an individual what the "Accumulated deficit", under "liabilities and shareholders equity" portion of the report details?
This individual (and I don't think they're a REAL basher) was in a panic because GTE had 79 million in "debt". I tried to explain in my own terms that it wasn't "debt", and got the classic "prove it" response. I did a bit of looking, with no luck, and hoped someone may have a source of this information so I can scream "NAH-NAH, NAH-BOO-BOO!" at this person.
TIA
samdashada, just poking my nose where no one asked for it..glanced at your post, and just to play semantics, it probably would have been more accuate to list "The loss reported between", as opposed to "The loss between...(as reported)"; as more than likely, the loss did not occur between those periods, but the loss was reported between those periods.
They could file the report late, but that would not be in adherence to the AMEX listing regulations, and they could be issued a delisting warning.
oh..wait..they already did that...
aw, who cares.
gregmaster, obviously the fighter pilot scenario was made in jest, however, would you have entertained the idea of a host of class action lawsuits, basing their evidence IN WRITING on an opinion article made by a freelance journalist? For a stock that couldn't get to $5.00?
I know I wouldn't have.
O.K. Markets closed..hypothesis..
What could be next?
1st level : Shorting into oblivion
2nd level : "Journalists"
3rd level : "Ambulance Chasing Class Action Lawyers"
4th level(and quite impressive IMHO!) : "AMEX"
....Commando BB-Gun raid on the Strat hangar? Hezbollah calls a jihad on GTE? Paris Hilton added to BOD???
I'm at a loss, but I'm SURE they'll surpass themselves!
Sure is a LOT of hubbub about a company who's market cap is about the same as Microsofts electricity bill.
Wonder what Jayson would look like in pinstripes.
I would hope that with all of the knob polishing we had to do to get on the AMEX, that along with our "specialist", AMEX would provide a "member" with guidance and advice to mesh with the BOD, mgmt., and legal counsel of the "member". Kind of a two way street, if you will.
From the information that we've been provided thus far, it would appear that the AMEX shot, and then yelled "STOP!"
I still think, regarding the accusations from AMEX, there was ample time to give GTE a public warning prior to this "raid".
Very curious, to me.
lildones, when I go into a coma and am on life support, please stay away from my plug.
TIA
Keeping in mind that the only quotations in Mr. Murphy's article are around the single word "news".
The "Dumas expressed sadness (IF the delisting blah blah)" thing still kills me.
So these "journalists" are just sitting around, with no lesson plan for the day, and check out what stocks have been halted that morning..and voila? we have a filler?
"Yeah, Kent..I want that right next to the big gorilla pichure! And get it in tonite's edition!"
Why-O-why is this not making sense?
Danielle, I think Coastie's glass is half empty, with a hole in it, and a vacuum assist diaphragm pump attached to the hole.
This could, under certain curcumstances, offer a skewed appraisal. IMHO.
As mentioned..Murphy also pumped us about the Russian deal. Although I liked it at the time, we all see how accurate THAT turned out to be.
Why should this article be any more accurate?
