Doc logic,
I first posted it 14/01/2020 (Post 259595)
At that time, Timothy Cloughesy, MD was included as one of the speakers. That is no longer the case. At that time you could have a ticket for free. Now it’s sold out. I believe Sentiment has two tickets.
I asked the organisation if they could give me the title of the presentation. I have not received a reply yet.
Sentiment,
Thank you!
Longfellow95,
notes from Linda Liau 10/15/15 presentation:
ADVENT BIOSERVICES 1 day ago:
Censor 18 on the OS curve or 9 on the unmethylated curve.
Sentiment,
I figured out when the interim OS curve was made.(the exact date in March 2017 + or - 1 day.) She is unmethylated on that OS curve 2017.
AVII77,
That's correct. That's why I posted the quote.
And in many cases you can also figure out whether the patient received placebo before recurrence.(number of vaccines before and after recurrence. More than 10 = placebo patient)
Sentiment,
Yes, it's Dudeknee's wife(70 years old). I'm almost sure she was unmethylated. Two years ago a member posted this message from her on ihub:
Sentiment,
I think there is a misunderstanding. I was speaking generally. I do not have specific information about Susan Bayh.
A family member of one of the recruited DCVax-L trial patients (NOT Susan Bayh) wrote on her blog that a “special doctor” would be present in the operating room to take care of the tumor tissue.
Sorry Sentiment that I misunderstood your post.
Sad news.
One of the last (I think the last) US patients enrolled in the DCVax-L trial died 3 months ago.
I changed her name to XXX (70 years old). Those who did their DD know who she is.
Thank you Umibe for making an effort to check with LG. Much appreciated!
Sharpie 510,
I agree! Watch the video presentation of last March. A few seconds after she talked about the DCVax-L trial, Linda Liau is saying
“the vaccine” and NOT “a dendritic vaccine or ATL-DC vaccine”.
Min.:14.15
Linda Liau:
“so we do have an upcoming clinical trial where we actually are going to be using the vaccine in combination with a checkpoint inhibitor”
learningcurve2020,
Here it comes. Enjoy it!

Sentiment,
I mean you all get this, right? Dr. Linda Liau stated five years ago it seemed like everyone is living longer. So what we are really comparing is DCVax EARLY with DCVax late. Four years later she essentially stated DCVax-l only seemed to work well at improving long term survival if it was given EARLY.
Translation? Crossover from either arm had no discernible impact. One could, of course, see this from a blinded perspective. (Note: This trial rarely used recurrent surgery with crossover)
That takes care of issue number 1.
If crossover is no longer an issue, that leaves pseudoprogression. That was “re-reviewed” in November 2018, again, according to Dr. Liau. By 2019, Dr. Liau was still confirming long term survivors are mostly patients without any recurrence.
That takes care of issue number 2.
longfellow95,
But now the MTD (multi-disciplinary?) probably won't be able to tell, going on just the MRI, whether the apparent enhancement is definitely recurrence or not.
One more session than that’s Cologne done for another month. Nothing to report regarding the possible progression on Laura’s last scan, we’re going to have to wait and see if there’s any further growth on the next scan in March. Not easy
Linda Powers sister in law, Carol L. Powers (married to Philip Whittemore Powers who died in 2006 at the age of 51) did some paperwork for the Compagny (https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=4019916931949&set=a.2757785139443&type=3&theater) and is Co-Founder and Chair of the Community Ethics Committee, operating under the auspices of the Harvard Ethics Leadership Group.

Willard had arranged for a classroom visit from Carol Powers. A lawyer by training, Powers was instrumental in the creation of the Community Ethics Committee, an arm of Harvard Medical School’s Center for Bioethics. The CEC is a group of citizens who meet regularly to provide public input on ethical aspects of health care. Every one of the group’s reports, Powers was pleased to note, has resulted in policy changes at Harvard-affiliated hospitals. Powers visited the class to address the role of community input in creating ethical standards and policies, and to offer support and insight to students as they work on the course’s capstone project.
But she began by recounting the harrowing road that led her to help create the CEC. She and her husband had a baby born with severe medical issues. The students listened raptly as Powers described the roller coaster – emotional and ethical – that defined her days as she and her husband made literal life-or-death decisions for their child, who eventually succumbed to his health complications. “We had entered a part of life where you don’t have a safe place, where there are no good decisions,” Powers told the class. “We faced every ethical decision you can face: ‘What is life?’ ‘How do you make the decision to stop life support?’”
Out of that difficult time came her resolve to work in the field of bioethics. Every hospital, she said, has to have an ethics service, to address the types of concerns that invariably arise around medical treatment. “Whenever the word ‘should’ or ‘ought’ comes in, you’re in the realm of ethics,” she said.

Does anyone know how many siblings Linda powers and les goldman have?
longfellow95,
Agree, it's not DCvax-L!
Laura will start the dendritic cell vacinnation protocol next month.
December 30, 2019 by Nicola Nuttall, Organizer
So looking to the future, Laura has her final round of chemo in January and from February she’ll start the Dendritic cell vaccination protocol in Cologne, she’ll be having her next scan in January too which is always a bit nerve wracking for us.
Without you, we wouldn’t have been able to start the immunotherapy treatment in Germany and for that and for your continued support and love, we are truly grateful.

Today’s been a rollercoaster. 1st we celebrated Gracie getting a fantastic unconditional offer from @SalfordUni but then Laura’s scan wasn’t as good as we’d hoped, possible recurrence. Bit devastated but waiting for the MTD meeting next week & trying to stay calm @BrainTumourOrg.
