Good things happening ;) Something like this could ordinarily take months or longer to develop a working product...still, there is reason to believe there may be OEM's that have already done much of the development work & were looking for better QD's to incorporate, or as an upgrade to their existing products. Sony for instance...they were the 1st to commercialize QD-displays but appeared to have changed their minds at some point...'performance issues' perhaps[?]. There are others, like Japan Display, Apple, Qualcomm & some lessor-known, yet highly significant, Chinese display makers that appear to have done a lot of QD research, looking for the next big splash. Additionally, QD's are being used as an 'ancillary enhancement' to already existing LCD technologies, meaning that, like QDV & Nanosys, they already have a head-start & aren't starting from the ground-up. Just some thoughts, we'll see ;)
"something isn't right about that PR. Funny that a PR release would be allowed but not a company name".
Nothing "funny" or "not right" about that at all...fairly commonplace , perfectly acceptable & compliant with NDA disclosure stipulations, which would most-certainly remain in-force concurrently...i.e; you can bet your life secretive Apple (& any number of their competitors) would blow a gasket if one of their 2nd tier development partners went cowboy & let the cat out of the bag prematurely...as evidenced here: http://www.techtimes.com/articles/17815/20141014/apple-charges-50-million-leak-fine-more-non-disclosure-agreement-secrets-may-be-revealed-soon-including-future-apple-products.htm

True; Nanosys doesn't actually supply Samsungs' QDots but it goes-on to say that Samsung has 'licensed' Nanosys QDot IP, presumably for Samsung to make their own, based on Nanosys IP...Samsung has also expanded their investments in Nanosys: http://www.nanosysinc.com/press-releases-archive/2015/5/29/samsung-venture-investment-corporation-completes-follow-on-investment-in-nanosys

Personally, I stopped expecting anything from the Saudi's long ago. As we've come to witness over the years, they have proven to be 'all-talk' when it comes to their professed solar energy ambitions...as exemplified here: http://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2015-01-20/saudi-arabia-delays-109-billion-solar-plant-by-8-years

Upon further inquiry, I'll retract what I said about IGEX...IGEX post#13685 makes some relevant points but not necessarily enough to thoroughly rule this one out altogether...I'll reserve my opinion pending further developments.

Sorry gents but regarding SYNJ, I'm going to have to disagree. I know, from 1st-hand knowledge, SYNJ is one of the biggest rotten-rinse-repeat R/S scams on the boards...myself & 100's of others paid-the-price to find out & I'm amazed the SEC hasn't put that slimeball CEO in the Slammer, as they damn-well should...SYNJ post#123981 is just the tip on the iceberg on this guy. SYNJ, hardly befitting a mention on a board intended to help 'newbies', I should think ;( And in reviewing post#13685 on the IGEX board, I don't think I'd be touching that one either. Sorry but it had to be said...I take no pleasure in seeing my fellow investors roasted & chewed-on by cannibals.
This Rotten-Rinse-Repeat PoS is at it again...BS belongs in the Slammer !!
BEWARE !!! You've been warned. Myself & 100's of others paid-the-price to know all about this creep ;(
Falling Costs (And Rising Profits) Of Water Desalination:
http://finance.yahoo.com/news/water-scarcity-falling-costs-rising-173000555.html
Hmmm...I don't get it...why do they even bother taking this risk[?], the markets are complaining about an oversupply from OPEC & they shut-down 1,000's of rigs in Williston (which claims reserves in excess of all Saudi Arabias'). And WTH are the US regulators thinking here...Shell is a Dutch corp so there's none of usual 'jobs for Americans' hype & The US only charges pennys on the dollar for oil leases , so there's definitely nothing in it to warrant the risk for the US. I also wonder how Shell thinks they'll be able to 'contain' a blow-out 'under' the polar icecap (or anywhere else during the winter)...which would more likely result in the adoption of BPs' response to the Louisiana blow-out...'out-of-sight, out-of-mind'. Aside from the major forces nature has at hand to 'tear them a new one', I doubt much thought has been given about the consequences of a major blow-out in that fragile region...namely; the lasting effects & how the icecap might fare with respect to increased solar warming in reaction to any underlying oil-film. By my reckoning; the powers-that-be & the greed of an all-powerful few, just won't be happy until they render this planet uninhabitable...this sucks !
As a rule, I'd agree with that thinking JB.

...not included in this report is another possible factor I've been contemplating, that being; my thinking that the oil companies might have conspired to intentionally keep prices low to ward-off competition from cost-competitive solar & other forms of alternative energy...if so, it is now backfiring on them...what a shame ;)

Climate change & QDPV...
..."silicon-based solar panels that produce most solar energy today won’t cut it. Scientists and entrepreneurs have developed promising approaches to these challenges, including perovskites or colloidal quantum dot photovoltaics. A critical question — to be discussed by scientists, policy makers and entrepreneurs at the Energy Thought Summit starting Wednesday in Chicago — is how to scale these early ideas into commercially viable alternatives. Still, the private sector will not, on its own, step in to fill this gap. It’s pathetic how little resources are being devoted,” said David Miller of the Clean Energy Venture Group, an angel investor that provides seed capital to energy innovators, and a speaker at the conference. “They could reach a commercial scale but don’t have the funding to get there.”
