Tibb, where do we stand now re TA?
This was the only compant listed on OTCJournal.com that they bought for their own account without being paid to do so. Says a lot for it.
Bought in yesterday. One of the cheapest BB stocks I've seen in years. Looking for a double in next two months, with a good 4th Q report and a few more contracts. Any skeletons lurking in the closet? I bought from the chart, without much DD.
I just e-mailed Chen for a clarification. Will post any response.
Could someone e-mail MS and get this clarified?
Not to produce DNA for experimental use, but if it's intended for in vivo use, then the the lab needs FDA inspection and approval.
new, the patent went to the US Patent office. Patents typically take a minimum of 2 years, but they won't have to wait for that to happen to make use of the technology. We don't know if CYGX is planning to set up their own production facility or licensing the technology to another pharma. Any lab doing this work would have to have clearance by the FDA.
Next support .67, according to stock TA.
The additional exposure to the big pharma's, who are bound to have observers there, should be beneficial.
I heard a story on the local radio this AM about Biogen-Idec. They're opening a new drug manufacturing plant just north of San Diego for their anti-sense drugs. It's 300K sq. ft., and they're hiring over 300 new employees at an average annual salary of $40K/year. They'll initially turn out 3 batches a week worth $10 mil/batch. They're using the conventional technique of biologic fermentation; the reporter mentioned they bought their fermentation tanks from some dairy equipment producer in the midwest. I forget how many hundreds of millions they're sinking into this project. Gives a clear indication of how important CYGX's new process is, and what a tremendous cost-savings it's likely to represent.
A year or so on this board, someone informally quoted a company officer stating they wouldn't consider a take-over offer of less than $25/share. I think there is a mechanism in place ("poison pill"), to prevent a hostile takeover. Should be detailed in the 10-K. With all the new developments, I think we're worth a lot more than that now.
BigB, today's Tuesday the 4th. We going to get the PR after the close that you were speculating about?
Any crystal balls for tomorrow? Advance or retrace?
The chart I referenced says the 50 day is .44 and the 200 day is .41. Where are your figures coming from?
According to this, we have now crossed the 50day MA over the 200 day.

I still think the news is going to pertain to cancer in some way.
250 mil. shares are authorized, but not issued.
Tat, pardon my myopia, but I don't see the Kobias link. Can't find stuff in the fridge either.
Tat, where do you get the volume and price alerts from? TIA
Tibb, TA question. Do you believe all or most gaps get filled?
Also, what is our 50/200 day cross-over point? TIA.
I'm guessing $8.50 for year-end '05.
I too think there is more good news coming. I've never seen these year-end updates do much for the SP of any company. We've almost trippled in the last 3 weeks. There is either more news on the way, or some private investment group decided to take a large position in CYGX. It might even be an outside pharma building a position so they can gain influence.
BTW, anyone want to start a list of SP predictions for a year from now?
Sounds like Inter Pares could assume Thalio's role. What's your training, Inter?
Simple patents take 2 years, if they're written well.
Complicated topics can take much longer.
MERRY CHRISTMAS to all, and a VERY prosperous NEW YEAR! I posted a few months ago that I thought we could be at $1 by years' end, and I think we still have a chance to do it. I also think January will produce significant gains. I appreciate the positive attitude on this board, and the willingness for differences of opinion. Thanks all.
What are the market hours tomorrow?
Yup. But CYGX is so small they can control news very tghtly.
On the other hand, a publication of study results passes through many hands before it hits the news. Just a thought.
What if it's a publication about to come out? CYGX wouldn't control the date.
Actually I didn't mean aerosol, I was thinking of a nasal spray, since the virus resides in the nasal-pharangeal region, rather than the lungs.
Just for variety, I'd like to see a PR for a new patent application for an aerosol treatment for the common cold, and another one for TB.
Should we short 'em?
The interesting thing is that none of us outsiders know just how complex or how simple the new process really is. From past statements of MS, one wonders if it is simple enough for CYGX to set up their own production lab. Any large scale production facility would seem to require a large chunk of capital. Maybe that's where J&L come in.
I think they'll license the DNA production technique to an established lab that already meets FDA quality standards. That way production ramps up quickly, CYGX gets all the product they need, and royalties are derrived from sales to other pharms.
Would love to see another PR today to kick this thing up to $1.
Just speculating, but I think that any chemical or biologic agent that goes into the medical supply for human use might have to come from an FDA inspected and approved manufacturing facility, much like the flu vaccine has to. The Chiron plant in England was shut down after a failed inspection by the FDA when they found several contaminated batches of vaccine.
FYI,CYGX isn't on the Pink Sheet listings, it's on the OTC.bb, which does have some requirements for listing.
I too work in a hospital, and everything bigworld said is right on the money. Excellent post, nothing exagerated about it. BW, are you an MD? RN? Lab tech?
The test for whether something like a process can be patented is to ask "is it something that would be obvious to someone skilled in the art." If the answer is no, it can be patented. An entirely new way to replicate DNA that is much cheaper and easier than the current state of the art should be a slam dunk for a patent.
Assuming this is Chen's invention, the guy is a pure genius. This development is to DNA-based medicine ( and DNA is the future of medicine), what the silicone chip was to computers, and what Henry Ford was to transportation. This could be Nobel Prize #2. With our puny market cap, this co. could easily be a take-over target.
Holy, it's sunny and warm here, but I can't leave work for another 2 hours, so here's my 2-bits. I don't know what info Peace is alluding to, but we are all here (albeit a bit early), because the science seems good. A patent lawyer who looks at CYGX's one granted patent can only say if the patent is well written, and casts a broad enough net to protect against encroachment. I have one patent myself so I am familiar with the process. No lawyer or anyone else can say if the process actually works on humans, unless they have some kind of inside information. And anecdotal information is worthless from a scientific perspective. Someone versed in the art can claim that it will work (there's a Nobel winner next door here who likes the science), but the market is waiting for real results on humans. A published paper showing efficacy against solid tumors in primates would boost the stock, but the real run will happen when Phase I&II human results are published or leaked.
