Rio Tinto grants Northern Dynasty shares to Alaska-based charitable foundations
Canada Newswire "Canada Newswire English"
VANCOUVER , April 7, 2014 /CNW/ - Northern Dynasty Minerals Ltd. (TSX: NDM; NYSE MKT: NAK) ("Northern Dynasty" or the "Company") reports that Rio Tinto has advised management that it intends to divest of its 19.1% shareholding in Northern Dynasty by way of gifting its shares to two Alaskan charitable foundations. This decision follows Rio Tinto's December 23, 2013 announcement of a strategic asset review, to include its shareholding in Northern Dynasty.
Northern Dynasty shares held by Rio Tinto (18,145,845) will be divided equally between the Alaska Community Foundation to fund state-wide educational and vocational training and the Bristol Bay Native Corporation Education Foundation , which supports educational and cultural programs in southwest Alaska . Both organizations are known to the Company and the Pebble Limited Partnership (" Pebble Partnership " or "PLP"); the Alaska Community Foundation , in particular, helped facilitate PLP's five-year, $5 million investment in Bristol Bay communities via the Pebble Fund .
"We are pleased that Rio Tinto's interest in Northern Dynasty will provide meaningful, long-term economic contributions to charitable organizations in Alaska that are dedicated to providing educational opportunities for young people, and to preserving culture and traditional ways of life," said Northern Dynasty President & CEO Ron Thiessen . "We look forward to meeting with the leadership of the Alaska Community Foundation and Bristol Bay Native Corporation Education Foundation in the days ahead to better understand their long-term goals and aspirations, and how their ownership interest in Northern Dynasty and the Pebble Project can make the greatest possible contribution to the people and communities they serve."

SM-From Dan's reply today:
The results of the FTG survey have not been made public. This is highly protected and valuable intellectual property of the contracting parties for Kenya Block 11A. As such, the FTG survey findings are proprietary, private and confidential as well as material information that would be illegal for the Company to selectively disclose under Regulation FD.
Could you please ask Dan why they released that the initial FTG results were encouraging if it's proprietary information. It doesn't
make sense.
Do you like SSN
Why don't you guys/gals keep a core position in this stock and trade around it. You Could have bought a position between . 038 - .05 and sold that position between .065 - .08 for a nice profit while retaining your core position.
It''s ok to question management but not 15 times a day. IMO that is excessive.
This is bullish signal to buy.
Middy- you rant against the management of ERHC. i think you said that you also owned HDY. What do you think about their management after today?
Do you see a form 4 that must be filed when management sells any shares? No because no shares have been sold.
Seems like many smaller gold stocks did not move much with gold up $29

EGI- What do you think?
Not sure what you mean by "push for PAL investors"
Every IHUB board seems to have one or two of these constant bashers. In the case of LBSR is seems to be CEMJQ. In your opinion what do you think motivates them?
Thanks. I am glad you are still holding like the rest of us long term holders. I hope we ll will be rewarded,
My question is are you still holding or did you sell for a nice profit?
Correction .042 not .038 -see posts 281766 and post 281769
Are you still holding your shares you said you bought at .038
What stock do you think could be another SARA?
Everyone on this board especially the mods should email Dan Kenney and express there unhappiness with the lack of information released and request more details.

Please let us know when you get a reply from Dan.
Watch FRCN. Looks like it's ready to move higher.
Much higher than .15 cents. Depends on what evolves.
I know you don't like W*LV but I am also in NBRI at a small loss. Wondering if I should average down. What is your opinion on NBRI here.
Do you really want to see .15c so you can get out??
I wonder if this could be an opportunity for ERHC to pick up an additional block?
Chinese oil companies can apparently move fast if the want to.

CNPC in drilling frenzy on Agadem
Having won a nod from the authorities in Niger in November to develop new fields on the Agadem block, the China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) is pulling out all the stops.
CNPC has drilled no less than 165 wells on Agadem in order to produce some 20,000 bpd from the Soekor fields (14 wells) and Gourmeri (15 wells). And that’s not all: the group was authorized at the end of November to develop 59 fields to produce oil for export.
Since then five new wells have already been drilled in the southern part of the block. wwwIn all, the second development phase on Agadem calls for the drilling of 114 wells, the installation of 1043 km of pipeline, installation of six pumping stations and two flow stations, a new production unit and three base camps.
The developments ought to boost output on the block from a current 20,000 bpd to 60,000 bpd and then 80,000 bpd (AEI 711). The additional oil will be earmarked for export. At present, oil extracted from Agadem is sent along a 72 km oil pipeline to the Zinder refinery where it is treated and sold in the region.
The high number of wells on Agadem can be explained by the block’s geological features. It houses several hundreds of millions of barrels but the oil is trapped, with no continuity between the honey-comb of reserves.
The drilling frenzy on Agadem is causing major damage to the region’s environment. During a workshop organized at the environment ministry in December and attended by inhabitants living close to Agadem and officials from CNPC, the local population complained about the many ponds filled with mud from CNPC’s drilling. Camels fall regularly into them and they aren’t equipped with tarpaulins to prevent seepage into the ground. In Chad last year CNPC was forced by oil minister Djarassem Le Bemadjiel to halt exploration on its Ronier permit because of polluted ponds and trenches (AEI 709).
I am not sure what you mean by "the person they didn't hire". Can you tell us who you are referring to?
Thanks Matt. I also own ROX. Would you sell ROX to buy gold stocks?
Why isn't LSG on your List?
