IAE average daily volume is about 700,000 shares per day so additional volume is only 50% more. BNN could produce this much additional volume if it is choosen as a #1 pick by a reputable analyst. Also with the great move up it has had in the last month, this one is on the screens of the momo players. This additional volume could easily be from speculation.
No doubt that the reserves is the big question mark holding this one down from a better valuation.
I hope it comes in with a great reserve number.

I was thinking that the increased volume came from the coverage / exposure they got on BNN as the number one pick on Thursday. Could be wrong though. Hopefully I get an opportunity to buy some back. Lots of upside potential.

AAA.V Allana Potash
Bought more Allana Potash on Friday on the pullback. Really like the future of this stock. The CEO seems like a straight shooter, not just a guy good with words. With some financial backing from the Chinese already in place and a short timeline to production (for a potash company), good cooperation by the local government, this one seems like a good long term winnner.
Buying on the pullbacks but holding longer term.

BGM.V Barkerville
I own a small amount of this company's shares as well because of the low market cap and the news that they are going into production in Feb but have a lot of doubts about whether or not they can swing it into production.
Playing it as a swing trade only for the next month. Sell the highs and buy the pullbacks. Sold 1/3 on Friday. Hope to buy it back later. Either way it's all good short term profits.
Callaghan looks like he's mortgaginghis house to buy back in the 70 -80 cent range so that is a good endorsement as well.

IAE.V
Sold my IAE at 1.52 for the time being. Just don't know what this market will do and if it goes lower, everything gets taken down including IAE.

DigiTech - BWR
I used to own BWR because it was so leveraged to the price of zinc. That was quite a while ago. All I remember was that I was disappointed with the proprties they had. Myrna and Langlois were pretty high cash costs if I remember correctly. I guess your betting on the price of zinc to continue to go up?

if you have something to say about this company, say it. What's your issue with them?
JFF7
NHC.TO/NRTSF.pk
The dollar amount is significant to NHC but more important to the stock price is the timeliness of resolving this. The market will not fully reward investors until this uncertainty is cleared up and they can say they are fully back to business as usual.
I am glad they emphasised in the NR that the arbitration process is tight and should be resolved in 6 months. How many companies have we owned where dispautes have dragged out for years. Nobody wants to see that happen here.
Will they be able to get back to business as usual and reinstate some portion of the dividend before resolving this?

Hey Bob, are you playing RM as a lithium play? I was looking for one. Is this the best one you could find?

ok Bob, thanks for the heads up. I will keep that in mind. I'll give them 2 qtrs to improve prooduction and complete first drill in Cardium. If the price doesn't improve immensely by then, I'll move on.

ZCO.V Zapata Energy
I bought some ZCO today. My first position. Figure I will wade in since there does not seem to be much attention on it.
But like you said very uder valued with a cashflow ratio under 3 and some exposure to the Cardium area which is hot and recognized as one of the most under valued areas. Petrobakken showing intesret in the area will help as well.
Just keep it under you hat for a while longer as I want to accumulate some on the dips. With oil breaking out over 82, I might not get many more chances.

Hey Kevin,
I started a position in this. Still trying to figure out the potential profitability on this one. Seems they have a patent (pending) for extracting protien. Some people are real excited about this one but I still need to see some numbers before I get too far into it. Guess that will be work for the weekend after I recover from the festivities of New Year.

AGT - delayed payments
It's probably bad news for the short term (the market doesn't like to see producers missing debt repayment schedules) but good for the long term (they are profitable and paying back some debt but just not as fast as they should and the banks are OK with that...eventually they know they will get paid).
The debt and the hedges will eventually be paid off. The longer AGT operates, the better their fundamental picture will improve and share price will rise accordingly. For most though, it has been disappointing over the last few months since it did not live up to expectations.

Could the volume and volatility be from the fact that CGA was just added to the S&P TSX index as of today? All those index funds need to get their alotment of CGA to stay balaned with the index.

Quotes are in US dollars? Does that mean you are buying and sellling in US dollars? How much do they hit you for the currency exchange going each way? They can make a lot of money off you that way if you are trading a lot.

Coinmaker - Gartman on Gold
I was talking to a former commodity broker from the east coast over the summer. he used to follow religiously for what was going to happen with gold. Lot of commodity broker do (did).
I could tell you what I think of the knowledge of commodity brokers but that would give away what i think of Gartman. Still it's worth something to know what the guys with other people's money are doing.
JFF7
PS. he's no longer a commodity broker. He's an expert on something else now.
AAA.V question
am I missing something here? I thought 2/3 of their deposit is Kainite which is not amenable to solution mining. Do they have an answer to this?

Gold prices
I think we will be in a trading range here for a while. Need to consolidate and build a base after a pullback before POG can go higher. 1100-1170 would be a good trading range for a while.
Need to get past the treasuriy sales before I feel comfortable adding back at these levels. Don't think this is the start of the bigger market correction we will have sometime in the next quarter or two.

IAE.V - Octagon's update
Recommendation
The discoveries at Stella, Hurricane (100% interest), and Harrier (50.33%) are expected to result in an increase in reserves from the current level of 17.2 million barrels (Proved and Probable). The balance sheet is debt-free, with working capital of $56.1 million. In 2010, the Company will have its first full year of production, and we expect cash flow to surpass $100 million. With a per-share cash flow estimate of
.63, the stock is trading at 1.6x next year’s cash flow, well under what an active driller with growing production and a strong balance sheet should be valued at in the market. We maintain our BUY recommendation, and are increasing our target price to $2.00 (from $1.50), a multiple of 3.2x next year’s cash flow estimate. As the market for junior exploration and development companies improves, a multiple expansion is highly likely.

This recent price action is just as much repricing that is ocurring for good producers that are increasing production, imo. But yes, these same companies make good takeover targets.

IAE.V
It has broken out now beyond it's resistance so I have set my sell target much higher. It wants to run so I will let it. If it break a dollar, we should see it run to 1.09 as that is what stocks do 80% of the time when they they break a psychological barrier like $1.00.
Just my two cents.

SGR.V - Monty
There's at least 3 million ounces there. Probably much more will be found over years of drilling. They are drilling over 120,000 feet a qtr now between above ground and underground drilling. But then again they have been drilling for years now. Poking holes in the ground like it's swiss cheese.
JFF7
SGR.V
The company is more upfront now about being an exploration company, not a producer. Yes they will produce gold and will produce at a profit going forward but their focus is on exploration. They know their exit is to be bought out. I doubt they will ever produce an updated 43-101 until they are made an offer or until they have more zones defined. At best for the interim, they will produce a 43-101 for the Hinge zone.
This could be a turning point for them in being profitable going forward but they are already pretty fairly valued considering they do not have an updated 43-101. They probably have a lot more gold in the ground but until they show some official reports and can show they can get it out of the ground profitably, they will constantly be "undervalued".

Quasi-IPO FILING: Golden Minerals Company (GDMN)
Posted: October 15, 2009 at 10:24 am
Print Email Subscribe Free Newsletter Follow us on Twitter 24/7 Wall St Real Time 500 An initial public offering filing has been made by a company called Golden Minerals Company, although we would rate this as a quasi-IPO that looks more like a secondary offering and not a full blown IPO. This trades under the ticker of “GDMN” on the Pink Sheets and trades under the ticker “AUM” on the Toronto Stock Exchange. It plans to trade on the NYSE AMEX. No financial terms were given other than a proposed maximum offering of $115,000,000.00 and Dahlman Rose & Company, LLC will serve as the sole book-running manager.
The offered shares will include shares to be issued by the company itself, and certain stockholders are expected to sell shares as well. Golden Minerals noted that it expects to use the net proceeds it receives from the offering to advance the El Quevar silver project in northwestern Argentina and to advance exploration of Golden Minerals’ portfolio of exploration properties. The company also noted that traditional uses for working capital requirements or other general corporate purposes.
Golden Minerals is a Golden, Colorado-based company that operates as a Delaware company. Its activities are in the advancement of its precious metals exploration projects and in providing mine management services. It claims a portfolio of some 35 exploration projects, primarily in Argentina, Peru and Mexico. The portfolio includes the “advanced stage El Quevar silver project” in the Salta Province of northern Argentina, and the company operates the San Cristobal mine in Bolivia for Sumitomo Corporation under a management services agreement.
More information about its stakes and its estimates findings are available at the www.goldenminerals.com website.

Gold falling next week?
That's good, the more opnions that it should fall, the more likely it won't. Keep digging up and posting the bear arguments.
No I'm not a gold bug and eventually it has to come down. But it took so long to break thru 1000 that I don't think it stops until $1100 - $1200.

is this agreement something that is likely to be extended? I understand that they are producing more than the mill ccan hadnle. It seems likely to me that there will be extensions of this agreement.

hey, what do you think of this little company. small mill, seems to have some legal issues with joint partner on one of it's properties, and has some debts issues as well. Guys on Stockhouse hate it. I stilll have some left over from better days earlier this year. what do you think of the near term future? worth holding or should I dump?
