"A 30:1 or as high as 10:1 ratio dividend payment in the new Class A common shares for current common stockholders. "
...? What are you talking about?
Up, up, and away! Volume is FLYING
We're cookin' right out of the gate. Divi news FTW!!!
Holt shit. On the 2nd? LULZ. If it passes, we will have one hell of a day!
The easiest way for me to sum up my position on the future of proposition 19 is this:
Which polls simulate most accurately, the conditions in which votes will be cast?
Now which polls take from the largest sample size?
If you have been following closely, both answers will be the automated polls.
Now which polls are showing prop 19 passing?
Something to think about.
I postulate that many of the nay-sayers are late to the party and losses are making them skiddish. Those of us that have been watching this sector for a while are no strangers. Even if yes were showing a huge win in legitimate polls, many media outlets would be showing opposite results and predicting failrue. That's how the American media works. Don't forget President Bush still holds the record for highest approval rating in US history soon-after the events of 9/11/2001. When I tell people DYOR, I don't mean go read your single favorite media source, I mean read ALL of them and draw a conclusion based on logical reasoning. I have done that and my conclusion is that 19 will pass. JMO.
Oh I will. Trust me, I'll remember if this is down into the sub-pennies on Friday.
LOL good luck with that.
Honestly people, get real. If you can tell me with a straight face that you think marijuana won't continue to proliferate in the USA, whether medical or recreational, you are blidned by your bias and ignoring the huge, almost instant support for this movement. If 19 doesn't pass this year, it will be on the ballot again in the next election and in a few years will be on the ballot in Colorado as well. We are moving toward legalization and that movement will not stop. It's only a question of how far it goes and how quickly. I will be holding these stocks whether the vote passes or not because next year we will see the same runs if it doesn't pass, and if it does pass this year, we will all bank. GLTA, make your own decisions, but make them based on YOUR opinons, not the skewed, bias opinions of a single media source because a heavily influenced decision like that will almsot always lead to regret.
The same way it didn't when MMJ first showed up in California in '96. Over time, the feds turned the other cheek.
Did you even read the article or watch the video? The entire focus was about how close it is and how it's going to come down to the wire. If that is enough to make you sell, you should have been out a week ago. Sell, your shares, be confidenti n your decision and don't regret it down the road. IMO, anyone that doesn't at least hold a small number of shares is an absolute fool. Would you not bet on black in roulette if the payout was 10:1? We're just about 50/50 here with all the media hype following the 'no' polls more than the 'yes' polls, despite the fact the recent 'yes' polls take from a larger sample.
Welcome to what we've been talking abotu for weeks. . . Take any polling with a grain of salt and draw your own conclusions.
Alright, that's your opinion, good luck with it. It is valid and possibly correct, but IMO very off base. Sell your positions and don't look back in regret when this runs before the vote and soars after.
Automated means the poll is conducted through a medium controlled by a computer, meaning there is no person asking the question. You are given option A and B and you pick for yourself with no human interaction on the other end. These polls have recently been majorly in favor of 'yes' by a large margin.
I honestly believe it will pass. Read some of my recent, previous posts for logical analysis that brought me to that conclusion. It's still anyone's race, but I believe everyone is underestimating the novelty of this vote and the effect the 18-25 age range will have on the result. If I were in high school or a local California university, I know a group of 20+ friends and myself would be going to vote ASAP.
LOL, are you stuck in 2004? There are 10 dispensaries within 3 miles of where I am sitting right now. I could go smoke a joint in the parking lot with zero worries about police troubles. There are a few states (CO, CA) that LOOSELY enforce MMJ laws and are moving toward legalization. There are another 12 that strictly enforce MMJ laws and that # is growing. Marijuana WILL be legalized eventually, it is the will of the people and the fact that the polling is so close the first time this is on any ballot shows how soon that will be a reality. You are obviously misinformed about the current role of medical marijuana in our country. Do me a favor and search "4/20 Boulder" on youtube. That is how heavily enforced restrictions are in the Denver area - almost not at all. It's the same in many areas of California.
How recent are you asking for? Within the last week there have been automated polls that show yes winning by a large margin and verbal polls that show no winning by a slightly smaller margin. It's as close as it can get poll wise, but IMO yes is truly ahead when you factor in the flocks of young voters that will vote in groups for yes.
Start of the run EOD imo. . .
The CEO spoke for 45 minutes to potential investors, media, execs, and even politicians. . .
Prop 19 will pass and the few of us that held steady through the vote will be laughing at the fools that got out and everyone else for that matter. I have a bottle of some nice champaign and a crispy blunt of the best buds in Denver just waiting for the announcement.
If P19 passes, dividend news won't be of importance to me. In fact, it probably won't fit on my screen, what with the size of the number my Scottrade account will be displaying.
And hopefully on CBIS LOL.
Silicon valley? Green valley. :)
The possibility of prop 19 passing is looking much higher as of late. Check the CBIS thread for the info. Automated polls with larger samples are showing prop 19 winning and some social analysts say they expect it to pass.
Here we go, good solid close.
Speculation infers that we don't know if the vote is going to happen. It will run before the vote, period. It's just a question of how much and when it starts. The "speculation" is about whether the vote passes or not. If the vote passes, this stock will not just go up, it will see a run that is the definition of the word phenomenal. Any investor would be a fool to not at least have some money left in this thing on the 2nd. We could see unbelievable returns. I am considering leaving all of the shares I still hold in CBIS for the following reasons:
1. The majority of voters under the age of 25 will vote yes. IMO, that is unavoidable You will be seeing groups of 18 year old kids from their high schools, at lunch going to vote yes because this election has become a novelty. This is a demographic of voters that will be least factored into, "likely voters" in some of the recent polling and even then the results have stayed close.
2. The automated polls are showing 'yes' winning by a large margin. The most recent automated poll took data from over 1,400 participants while the most recent verbal polls, which showed 'no' winning, had less than half that number of participants. Some people think it should be legal, but don't want to disclose that fact to family and friends.
In all honesty, I think we will see the yes campaign win by a large margin. It's my opinion and anyone is welcome to disagree with it and rebut, but it is based on reason.
If it looks like it isn't going to pass and it actually does, there will be a fiasco for days upon days. I am going to be holding a decent amount in multiple stocks in this sector through the vote, no matter what the outlook seems like. I've taken some profits already, it's worth the risk.
Damn, I know why it went down today. I haven't smoked. I have to run to the dispensary and refill for tomorrow!
Right and you got this from what? The 5% decrease today? lol.
Right, listen to the guy that thinks legalizing marijuana will make teachers and cops lose their jobs. He really knows what he's talking about. /sarcasm.
Quick, everybody donate lol.
Anticipating dividend news. . . Also wondering who is going to be first with some PR to kick it off. Seems like all the pot stocks are suffering but SFIO. PCIO is getting murdered right now for some reason.
I think there is far too much hype for a quick sell-off today or tomorrow for that matter. IMO any gains we see today will hold or drop slightly. The big up and down fluctuations will come later in the week the closer we come to the 2nd. I won't be doing anything but buying personally. CBIS is the best bet for a real investment in this sector, a long term investment.
If you honestly believe that the legalization of marijuana for recreational use would somehow effect the job-market for teachers, you are horribly, horribly misinformed. It seems all you have to say is negative and you have very little understanding of the proposition itself.
You do realize, for example, that the legalization for recreational use only applies to adults 21 years of age or above, correct? Distributing to minors would still be considered a serious crime and punishable by jail time.
Let's skip all the drama of you arguing with me despite having a minute understanding of the topic and get to the point. Do you know what period of time saw the most organized crime activity in the United States? Prohibition. It simply does NOT work. What are the drawbacks of legalizing marijuana for recreational purposes? Funyuns are sold out at your local 7/11? Oh Jesus, call the feds!
Prop 19 keeps statutes in place, and even create more, that deter:
-Distribution to minors
-Operating a motor vehicle while under the influence
-Unlicensed distribution
Any jobs affected negatively by this are unnecessary to begin with. Why is it necessary for someone smoking a little pot to be court ordered to rehabilitation or even jail time when there is absolutely no negative effect on the public? There is plenty of violent crime in this country and in case you didn't know OVER HALF of murders in the United States go unsolved. I would personally prefer our law enforcement focuses on protecting the public than arresting Jimmy for smoking some of his mom's stash behind the jungle gym.
I think what's most important here is how the poll-taking entity defines likely voters. The demographic of voters will be extremely different this year. You will see far more young people voting than in years past. It's also important to note the disparity between the verbal polls and the electronic/paper-based polls -

"Press Release: October 22, 2010
OAKLAND, CA -- The Yes On 19 campaign today released an internal poll showing that likely voters support the initiative to control and tax marijuana by a margin of 56-41 when presented with an automated questionnaire but are less likely to state their support to live interviewers. . .
The Yes On 19 internal poll was conducted by EMC Research on October 13-14 and had a total sample size of 1,403 respondents. The margin of error is +/- 2.6 percentage points. The full results can be viewed at: http://www.YesOn19.com/internalpoll"
I agree, I think we will see much higher highs this week than most are anticipating. This stock will gain so much momentum from tomorrow and Tuesday's CNBC coverage of the conference, people will need trash bags for the cash they're making.
This is from the official agenda for the conference, keep in mind this is the FIRST order of business for the conference:
"The Business of Marijuana & Areas for Investment
-Economics of Dispensaries: Is there a viable business in medical dispensaries?
-Investing in the Business of Marijuana: What are the issues related to investment
in the growing, distribution, or sale of marijuana?
-Future Funding of Deals: Is this an institutional market for investment or is the
federal landscape overshadowing opportunity?
-Entrepreneurial Vision: How large is the market, and how can small businesses
position themselves for profit as the market expands?
-Business Ethics: Medical marijuana and the workplace
-The International Market: Analyzing the global business of marijuana
-M&A Opportunities: Will the marijuana industry become a major M&A opportunity?"
CEO of CBIS, Dr. Robert Melamede also has his own 45 min slot.
The Health Care Crisis: Is Marijuana Part of the Solution?
3:40 – 4:15 PM
This presentation discusses the physics that underlies the unique role played by the endocannabinoid system. This session provides the foundation for the multifaceted ability of medical marijuana to impact a variety of illness in a holistic manner, improve human health and revolutionize healthcare and pharmaceutical industries.
SPEAKER: DR. ROBERT MELAMEDE, Cannabis Science
"The Times/USC poll surveyed 441 likely voters about Proposition 19 by telephone, including both cellphones and landlines, between Oct. 13 and Oct. 20. The margin of error for the sample is plus or minus 4.6 percentage points. The poll was conducted for The Times and USC by two polling firms, the Democratic firm Greenberg Quinlan Rosner and the Republican firm American Viewpoint."
LMFAO, 441? That is by far the smallest poll I have seen yet.

The statement, "likely voters" is also going to be misleading. You will see a huge increase in voters in the age range of 18-25 this year compared to any other year. Teens and young adults will be flocking to the ballots for this magical green plant.
Damn, I need more money in PCIO. Hopefully I can get in heavier before it takes off. This sector is going to make some people very, very rich this week and potentially more the following week.
