No need for Bird. I have Hoskins playing 1st and Devers at CR. I am trying to decide between Buxton, Haniger and maybe even Delmonico as an extra position player, then grabbing two pitchers when I drop Fisher, Polanco and C. Gomez this week.
I think he needs to call Don Cooper to get him back on track!
OK, what contender is going to jump in on the Miguel Gonzalez train? Aside from his one blowup in Boston three starts ago, he has been lights out since getting back from DL in July.
So far today, 6 IP, 4H, 4BB and 6KO while pitching a shutout. Probably done for day as he has just passed 100 pitches. This against a very dangerous Rangers team after he kept an equally dangerous Dodgers team in check for his last start. He is really looking like he could be a nice boost at the back end of a contender's rotation right now. Trader Hahn may be in line for a few more prospects.
What is happening to Tommy? He was locking everything down with us before he was traded. Maybe just a bad day, as his era is still under 3.
One other issue is if Chapman strings a few strong appearances together, would Girardi put him back in as his closer? That could kill me if he did that mid week!
Two weeks left after this. Just need to win once in the last two weeks to be assured the playoffs. I am thinking of grabbing Betances, as he is a better option than Oh, Belise, Dyson and then cross my fingers with a 2nd round pick of Familia. Maybe I get lucky on that one, since he is 1-2 weeks away. That way, can stash him for a possible playoff run.
Have to thank Gary Sanchez, as he played big part in my win this week. Hard for the other team to match 42 points from a Catcher!
ARGH! Need a reliable alternative darn it! I may have to play the flipping game with RP eligible SP's that have two starts in a week? Would rather not. Would be nice if Familia were ready, but he is no sure thing either.
So, do you think Betances will get the saves for now, or will Robertson sneak in there? I need to replace Chapman for now.
Please flip to 78,42,24 please
Wouldn't that be interesting? Keep an ear open to see if he clears revocable waivers? Maybe The Cubs would like him back?
LOL! I am betting it is temporary until he gets his mind straight. If Familia is back next week, he is a FA in my league, so I could grab him and insert him for now.
Hard to tell without seeing the language of the agreement for the "Player to be named later" part of the trade. Typically, teams will have set groups of players that will qualify for "Player to be named later" depending on performance of the traded player through the rest of the season. That said, given The Mets' GM recent moves, I would not put a lot of faith on him getting good terms in these deals.
When do you expect Familia up and do you think he will immediately get closers role back?
Is Chapman officially out as closer?
I do miss her commercials with the talking horse!
WOW, this Nicky Delmonico kid has really been impressive for the White Sox since he came up!
42, 78, 24 Please
Actually, the rebound has started. Ever since Moncada was called up, attendance has been creeping back up. Now, as more of the future cogs are added to the MLB Roster, you will see that continue to move up.
10 years from now, The Cubs will be here on the list. The changes that they have made to Wrigley and the surrounding area have erased the nostalgia reasons to visit the part. They are also erasing their "Fan Farm System", as the buildup of Wrigleyville is pushing out the affordable apartments that young, just out of college students used to flock too. Many of these people were actually from all over the Midwest and further and moved to Chicago for jobs and sometimes along with college friends. Living in Wrigley, they naturally became Cubs fans over time. Now that they will not be in that vicinity is such numbers, the fan base will erode.
I see Jose Reyes getting four starts at 1B this week! :>
Rosario starting to look like he is settling in now.
WOW! Devers is on fire!
Are they going to have Chance relieve for a bit, or give him a shot at starting?
Baby steps for the baby! Rosario needs some time to figure it out. We are just starting to see it in Moncada, although we saw more from him from the start, as he was taking tons of walks even when he was not getting his hits and striking out too much.
Heck, I want to trade with The Mets GM! He is like the one guy in your fantasy league that everyone wants to take advantage of! Would probably give up Mike Trout for Jason Heyward! LOL!
I am telling you, Don Cooper is "The Pitcher Whisperer"! If a pitcher is willing to listen to him and apply what he is telling them, that pitcher is going to get better. If Clippard can continue this run, there will be a contender willing to pay up for him! I love it as some Sox fans bitched and moaned about his coming back in that trade. Great gamble by Hahn IMHO! Had to take him back to not have to eat any salary for the players going to NY and was probably more than happy to take him as he knew Cooper was chomping at the bit to have another project!
Well, do not forget Nunez in that equation!!!!!! Without his boneheaded base running, who knows what may have happened there?
LOL! Tyler Clippard 2nd save in three games and has now only given up 2 Earned Runs in 10 appearances since joining The White Sox????? Don Cooper may have fixed him? Probably needs a few more appearances like this and we may actually be able to get a halfway decent prospect for him on the Waiver Trade Wire!
Just think about the sheer stupidity of Nunez and be thankful for it! The run at the plate did not matter to the Yankees, so Hicks was not going to try to gun him down. Hicks has a top 25% arm in the OF and a fly ball to him in left, with 3rd base right there. You had to expect the throw there????? I know Sanchez has had some issues behind the plate as of late, but that was a piss poor gamble that should have never been taken no matter Nunez's speed!
MLB Network, "How often do you see a double play on a Sac Fly?"
Thank you NUNEZ!!!!!!!!!!!! As Hawk would say, "IT IS OVAH!!!!"
Holy Smokes! What an idiot Nunez is????? How the heck does he try that there?
Can I take back my wish. Walk Hicks, and let Sanchez get a Grand Slam!!!! LOL
They are squeezing him like he is a rookie????????
He's got this!
Yes, but I need you to stop now. Have a two run lead, which is enough for Chapman! Save some for tomorrow night darn it!
White Sox going for four in a row???? Beating KC right now. I should be pissed that they are ruining their shot at the first pick, but Lopez pitched a brilliant game tonight and most of the O has been from the young ones once again! Tim Anderson is also showing that he is back to last year's form and over his sophomore slump! They are fun to watch, which is good and did get a boatload of top prospects already. If they start playing well and fall the 6th or 7th in the draft, I believe I can live with that!
ROSARIO may finally be breaking out tonight!
Yeppers! Now stop, or at least stop after two more! I will get pissed if they take Chapman out of a save situation!
Yankees need to get the lead here, so I can finally get some points from Chapman this week!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yep! Frazier's Oblique, while it hurts me this week may have been a blessing in disguise!
