Management stated their intentions & this years business projections during the web cast . Those projections & understanding ,so that they would not recreate the mistakes of the past . Those mistakes ,as we all know seriously hurt the share holders values in eDigital .Now ,they are given one final opportunity ,to take the company into a profitable position .To achieve these goals ,management must do the right things right & not just some of the time .
I have come to the conclusion that this is no longer a test ,pass or fail . I & many longs looking at this as a must situation . Otherwise it is adios & at the most appropriate time .
I personally ,have supported this management team for years . Now ,I trust that they support me ,as a loyal share holder . In my book ,it's called a 2 way street .
sdr --then what have you gleamed from those conversations ,about marketing the Odyssey 1000 ? Doesn't it sound restrictive not to pursue a logical marketing solution ?
Packers the reviewers are the test market for the Odyssey 1000 . Since the company is confident ,that that thru thorough testing & retesting that we have the best MP3 player out there ;then mktg 101 stipulates test market .
Additionally (let me know if I am wrong on this point), I understand that edig & not Digitalway is responsible for the US marketing of the Odyssey 1000 . Then ,it surely needs those great reviews ,to attract the best & most profitable OEM ,for edig,even if Digitalway does the manufacturing .The specifications are written & most major CE mfgs could easily follow those specifications .

It seems to me ,form a pure marketing focus that it would be paramount to make the best impression ,in the market first .Thus attracting the major OEMS & maybe even a biding war ;which could help edig receive higher royalties per unit sold .Time is of the essence here . Thus ,again why not get the product to main reviewers ?

Chessplayer --if what we heard, that" All" the brand new odyssey 1000s are being thoroughly checked & screened & that edig knows of apples problems ,then trust this will not occurr for the 1000 .
This verification /testing process can assure a major OEM ,that apples battery problem would not be encountered by the odyssey 1000 .Think that with all the publicity surrounding the problem ,the OEMS will welcome a clean bill of health .Thus ,our solution to Apples problem can be turned into a major selling benfit ;which in turn can be used to over come OEM objections .JMHO

Imo the real focus or competitive battle is not with the Aplle Ipod & it's battery difficulties . Edigs real focus is to get a major OEM to launch the Odyssey 1000 .Once in the market in mass ,the consumer will judge whose MP3 player is superior . This is why the Odyssey 1000 MUST have no problems & the reviews are perfect .
Then the rest will be history .JMHO

If EDIG has a chance of making it from the pits to a respected & profitable company ,the projections of yesterday MUST come to fruition .
arkie I believe that it was necessary to sell off those Treo 15s ,that JC ordered . I don't know how many may be left . But ,I would say that the cash is being redeployed, into the profitable venues . Yes ,it will take awhile .Imo the end of this year should present a much brighter picture for us share holders ,than the end of 2002 .

But Anyway --what you say has validity . However ,there are other product opportunities ;which you didn't factor in with this scenario . Those opportunities were discussed in yesterdays web cast. Therefore , the company is projecting for the entire 2003 year .
Any of the other projects adding to profits ,imo could then put edig over the top .
Looking forward to the wireless application coming to full fruition . That would place edig on the streets radar .Thus ,new investors streaming to buy .

However ,it definitely will gap up on a formal OEM announcement & no outside investor has a clue the day & hour .It could happen Tuesday for all we know .
Also imo if there are more news releases,in a short period of time ,from different products EDIG is involved ,then imo the pps will move rapidly .It also gathers support simultaneously.

These 2 guys are the meat of the sales team ,as I understand it .
In a competitive market place ,ala CE ,we must have highly skilled sales closers . Imo RP is not that type .

But Anyway --from first hand of over 40 years hands on sales/mktg experience ,over coming customer objections is paramount ,to closing the sale . There really are 2 types of objections . One is a obvious objection ;but the hardest & the ones that must be over come are the customer's hidden objections . Any person unable to do this will NEVER be successfull in a selling climate .
The ability to discover both the obvious & hidden objections is not unlike doing DD ,to understand the customer & what motivates them ;to use your service or product . Vital to turn conversation into a sale & action . Then comes professional follow up ,so the customer doesn't get buyers remorse .
Any " long term " successfull sales executive ,definitely knows how to & when to ,work on the customer's objections . This in essence is the true skill of the successfull sales person ;which leads to a closed sale . Another MUST --asking for the order after all objections are soundly handled .
