huh, a wise guy, of course the vote will be yes! I'll swing by Niagara Falls on my way north -
I would hope positive. More customers perhaps, more sales of peripheral products. Namaste will be adding their mark up on what is sold, regardless of the fluctuation in price. Hurts the LPs, and their portion of their business there, but I'd see even a depressed price as not a bad omen for the overall company. Could spur customer growth.
I'm hoping tomorrow I'm breathing easier. I don't see how money won't win in this argument. Delay a national industry for a year over nuances around a law, extending black market hold on that industry out another year? If it does fail to pass, those canadian companies with the most robust international business partnerships should still do okay, there's more money to be made outside Canada anyway. But the whole sector would get quite the hit should this not pass.
Thanks - love to see these deals coming in. There are some weaker players right now like maricann that companies like aphria could gobble up over time. Next few months should be interesting as the strong start pecking on the weak, more deals are cut, and canadian legalization looms closer.
This board is becoming the exception on IHUB for weed stocks. Others have seen the posting drop off significantly (except for a few) as these companies becomes less "penny stock", pump and dump, and mature. that silence is a great sign. I'm overjoyed when no one is posting on other boards for some of my holdings. Can't wait for that silence here... it would mean aurora has arrived. going to take some time still.
Agreed. This is the year for the major money to move into MJ, both in terms of institutional traders, as well as the large scale M&A with pharma and beverage companies etc. Meanwhile, we'll all watch revenue growth into and post-canada rec use, as well as international revenues and expansion. May not be the rocket, more like a cog railway climbing the mountain. I like the track we're on though.
Not to be a downer again, but we still don't know the date the sales license will be attained as noted in the PR:
"If the Sales Licence is received, we fully intend on leveraging our data and technology through our global network of operations where we believe we will be well-positioned to implement the same strategy in other legal markets where the Company has established strong market share.”
Great step forward, but not there yet. I'm celebrating the other green this weekend, and will await celebrating Namaste green when the sales license is attained.
Really liking their deliberate methodical advancement forward. No hype, no glut of meaningless PRs, just interesting valid progress.
that was before the halt.
got in a bit late at .64, but glad I've been holding on to them...
Believe me, I want excitement... I don't want to be typing this from work in another few months, I'd rather do that from Tahiti and hope Namaste is part of the means of getting me there...
I was wondering about the footnote on the license that does not indicate selling - just producing, labelling, packaging. Wasn't sure if due to the arrangement with cannmart whether a license that permits selling is also required. cannmart's is the only license highlighted with that footnote.
Right, production is first shoe, need that other one for sales too...
Production but not sale?
This licence is for packaging, labelling, and associated product testing per the site.
currently 10% up, no news, so perhaps that distance between Mr. Ward and MRRCF is getting even bigger...
News Out - GMP Certification

This will position aphria well for the US market down the road.
Yes, the irony of all this boredom and treading is that now is the perfect time to assess the players, re-position. Especially now that it's clearer who the key players are. Many here I assume are like me and have multiple positions across a series of mj stocks. Some were more speculative than others. Great time to rethink the speculative ones, move money to the more assured plays while all this low volume downward trending has been going on. Then get ready for the next ride up, should be a fun one...
more news - australian partner Althea receives license
https://finance.yahoo.com/news/aphrias-australian-based-partner-althea-110000772.html
And now Maricann distances itself futher from Ben Ward...
https://finance.yahoo.com/news/maricann-provides-clarification-respect-recent-035500185.html
so ben uses stockhouse which is paid by maricann to talk about a hit piece by the globe and mail in his opinion, to set the record straight. Lot of credibility there...
House needs cleaned.
Been pretty boring, not like the old days, but then that's actually a good sign. This industry is maturing, and aurora is maturing with it:
moved away from pure news, event driven price swings.. check
Increased earnings, revenue Q over Q ... check
ETF presence ... check
M&A to add value, growth potential, intl presence ... check
Key strategic partnerships ... check
Access to provincial markets ... check but need more
Online and brick and mortar distribution channels ... check
Increased capacity for production to serve market ... check
As long as I can keep checking these sorts of items off, this can dawdle at this price for now and I'm still sleeping easy. The boredom is fine. Feel free to add to the list...
agreed, sold a portion, after buying in at .08, remainder are free shares that I'm holding. I'll roll the dice on free shares here but not my own money.
it is looking better and better for aphria today - or aphasia as autocorrect likes to call this company,.. GLTA
especially since neufeld is now chairman of the board of scythian
news on aporia's related company scythian

This stock is on nasdaq... could there be a path forming to uplist via these combined entities (scythian, nuuvera...)
Did anyone on the board mention the SVP news for Business Integration? I don't know enough about the SVP's qualifications as of yet, but this is a very much needed role in an org growing as fast and acquiring as much as aurora has done. different companies, different cultures, different systems, these integrations aren't easy and i was greatly encouraged to see Aurora hire for this position - shows there is manager savvy again and recognition of the complexity occurring in the company.
you could lull yourself to sleep though counting gummies going out the door to the tune of millions in sales. I'm for a 4pm pr myself but potn down over 3% suggests today is not that day.
If I tell you, I'd do the opposite of what I tell you... If I knew that, I wouldn't be watching IHUB, I'd be watching the crowd with a drink in my hand on a beach in Greece!
sorry, i don't have the premium membership to do private messages -
My wife is doing a conference in Seattle in the Fall - I'm heading out with her and plan to head north to Vancouver for a visit.
This just means that my celebratory trip to Canada to enjoy my stock gains and the fruits of this legislation will occur end of summer early fall rather than summer... I like fall in Canada, especially if my pockets are fuller...
thanks Hunchback ! So they are stoking the fire on the legislation passage, and in essence, moving up the rec date for sales. Let's hope that final vote date doesn't drift, but if it does, silly folks will sell again and another time to add.
The big LPs are up while some of the smaller stocks I track are down. Nice to see the upward motion.
Yes. This was a likely scenario awhile back, and a buying opportunity.
Medical is not affected by this news.
International sales and growth not affected by this news.
Aurora has cash on hand to weather a delay, and does give them time to prep for rec more fully.
The news isn't Legalization won't happen, just sales will be later than hoped.
The selling is hitting all stocks, US, Canada, Australia - a nice indication of over-reaction to the news.
also, we might be in that lull between those traders like us who got in early, and the traders (both institutional and retail) who have yet to plunge in with earnest to the MJ market. Some of the recent ETFs focused on smaller MJ stocks, not aurora/canopy size. We're past the year-end sells and people re-entering the market in the new year, and also the US markets recent gyrations have some traders spooked. A number of mj stocks have drifted down on low volume in past two weeks. It's now an earnings game, a mergers game, a market share game (locking in supply agreements, etc). As that news comes out, these will drift up again.
All we need is a little patience.
financial equivalent of the TET offensive...
anyone else noticing that Motley the Fool is posting re-hashed MJ articles almost daily warning of share dilution? Same story over and over again with differing sensationalist titles? I know their business model is based on click bait, but this seems more aggressive lately.
auroras was a minimum amount, aphria was a maximum. I haven't checked the others as of yet.
If it's a strategy that has been successfully done in the past and the current senate party alignment makes it possible to occur now, they could potentially push to get approval and then get to July sales starting rather than September. That would be huge.
I like the terms of auroras loi w saq. More flexibility and potential for profit without over committing. Though I’m long both aurora and aphria and Happy to see these lois taking shape
