Man, I thought that stuff went out of style with the Beatles ..... LOL
This one, if they do it, will be her fourth .... and only the first one actually provided any real relief. Now she's stuck with three fused discs .... and hurts worse than she did before the second surgery. We've only used 'highly rated' neurosureons, too. I think back surgery is more a 'hit or miss' proposition than any surgeon will ever admit. The Dr. she's seeing now, though, is the first to tell her if he can't be certain he will help her, he won't do any surgery. Never heard that from any of the others.
I just had, on 1-18-12, a rotator cuff surgery, and it went great. I can already lift my arm straight up, which is more than some can ever do after that surgery. Started Physical therapy last Wednesday and the therpist accused me of having had a therapist come to the house and work on me already, as he could not believe the range of motion I already have, and with virtually no pain anymore. What he doesn't know is I started my own 'therapy' program on day one after the surgery, simply because I flat out refuse to give up any motion or strength. As a result he tells me he will only do 2 weeks with me, versus the 5 - 16 weeks they normally do. I just wish I could trade my success with my wife's failed surgeries .... I'd do so in a heartbeat. She, however, is a 'hard head' and wouldn't do her therapy as told. That could be a lot of the reason she is in such bad shape now.
Enjoy your tropical climate. I'm extremely jealous! Thanks for the good wishes.
I'd love to, and sincerely appreciate the offer. I've been to Asia, Europe, Mid-east, and Africa from one end to the other, but never South America. We'll have to see how things work out in the coming months, as my wife may well be facing yet another surgery on her back. Right now, it's about all she can stand just to make the trip to and from the doctor.
Three years in the Congo absolutely ruined me as far as cold weather goes .... I just can't stand it any more.
Later
No snow, but a wind chill of -4 .... really think you'e cool don't ya! How dare you rub it in like that!
If I was down there with ya, we could enjoy a good Nic cigar on your patio. Here, I'd be trying to light an icicle.
Yep, dat be de one!
Thank you President Obama for keeping us safe!
With this field of loser so-called republicans we have running now, Obama will be here as long as he wants to be.
I saiad it months ago. Romney can not beat Obama. Gingrich hasn't a chance. Santorum is nuttier than a fruitcake. Ron Paul is ...... well, he's the sme old Ron Paul who has lost.. what, twice before? Nothing about him hs changed.
Herman Cain could have beaten Obama - that's why he got his legs chopped out from under him so early. He's the only one.
The same raving idiots who elected Obama will vote for him again, ignoring the fact they have no food in the cupboard or no job to go to. They've the same mentlity as those who so blindly followed Hitler in Germany.
Ditz
Hey, dude, if you post it and can't back it up .... then we know you don't understand it anyway. It's all just propaganda.
You would have fallen right in line for Hitler.
No, that's what happens when you have a few too many and try to be all cutsey.
WTF ... you drunk on your ass?
What ever happened with Waters' Investigation
Think Poe had anything to do with that?
But he's a democrat! So, therefore, it is OK!
It should be every evangelical ...... no actually it should be every American who professes to support the constitution.
Seriously, do you read what you post? I mean, actually read and digest it?
You posted:
I've always thought it nothing but a liberal shake down to charge someone to exercise a constitutional right.
Yep .... still..!!
It's not just Barbra Streesand ... there are people here on this site (not this board) who will argue and insist the economy is in a significant recovery. Just check the Politics & Money or Tornado Alley boards. And they're serious (seriously mistaken that is). But as long as there are people out there that gullible, who will argue with and dispute cold, hard facts, you'll always have a chance of re-electing this monumental failure to another term in office. They'll also argue Obama has done a masterful job. Misinformed, blind, just plain nuts ... I don't know what their problem is, but they sure do have problems.
One more term of this incompetent marxist will do the country in. We'll all be starving. But you can't tell the kool aid drinkers that.
If you think the economy is "off the table", you're much more gullible than I ever imagined.
Fine. I've nothing against Catholics.
Are you southern baptist .... or black?
I found it here too: Kim Jong-Un Dead? That's The Rumor
In the past two hours, Twitter has exploded with unsubstantiated rumors that the new North Korean dictator died in Beijing today and that a coup is underway in North Korea. All rumor of course, and one that appears to have been started on China’s twitter-like platform Weibo. As the story goes, a couple assassins barged into Kim’s room in Beijing and shot him, before being shot and killed themselves by bodyguards.
Twitter user ChristianJMay says the rumor is “based on news that a host of blacked out cars have descended upon embassy in Beijing, where he was visiting.”
User Rocco_Castoro has a different source of information, tweeting “This just in: Kim Jong-un’s cause of death was being force-fed hotdogs and having a basketball bounced off his head repeatedly for 20 hours.”
We’ll find out soon enough if Little Kim has followed his father Kim Jong-Il into the hereafter. If he is alive and well, this day of rumors will mark the real beginning of his rule. Kim was expected, after his father’s death on Dec. 17, to abide by a 100-day mourning period, like his father did upon the death of Kim Il-Sung in 1994.Yet an article in the Korea JoongAng Daily this week notes that Kim has already come out of mourning, and has been seen traveling North Korea, visiting tourist traps like “the Seoul Ryu Kyong-su 105 Guards Tank Division of the Korean People’s Army in Pyongyang.”
Then there’s this heart-melting passage:
“Kim Jong-un is already showing a different public personality than that of his father. While Kim Jong-il maintained a distance from the public, wearing sunglasses and rarely having physical contact with the public, the young successor doesn’t hesitate to act friendly and intimately with the people. That is the kind of behavior associated with his grandfather, Kim Il Sung. In a documentary aired recently by the North’s Korean Central Television, Kim Jong-un’s broad smiles and bold gestures were shown. He whispered in the ears of other soldiers and held the hand of a wife of a military leader. During a visit to an Air Force unit on Jan. 20, he hugged soldiers. When he visited Mangyongdae Revolutionary School on Jan. 25, Kim touched the faces of students and tasted soy sauce.
Soy sauce! Who doesn’t like soy sauce? I would have advised him to tuck into a big bowl of kim-chi, the spicy pickled cabbage that is Korea’s equivalent of apple pie with ice cream.
Still, maybe this Kim is not so bad after all. He’s even said to love the iPad 2 and is set to allow Egyptian mobile operator Orascom Telecom to set up internet connections in North Korea.
If Kim is dead, if there is a coup underway in North Korea, it’s likely because after his magnanimous visits to their bases in recent weeks, the army decided that Kim is too much of a softie to keep the North Koreans sealed tightly in their gulag.
Updates to come.

Well, what do you know. If they did win it back, it just means there'd be more of them there to blame Bush. That's all they did the last two years they were in the majority.
Thank you. I learned a lot about the 'demise' of Western Auto I never knew. Never realized Sears bought them up, for example. I know I sure did like going there when we went into town on Saturday afternoon.
I spent gobs of nickels there on packs of BBs too, and pretty often the owner would reach under the counter and pull out another pack that had 'accidentally' gotten opened 'somehow in shipping' and just throw it in the bag with the pack I bought.
He was a good man, and I learned later about how he had been a bomber pilot in WWII and had been shot down, then somehow evaded capture and made his way back to the allied lines - alone. Sure wouldn't have known it by being around him. He was 'common as dirt', as we used to say. Quite a guy.
Well, then, I'm covered!
You do, of course, understand that in this country, one is free to choose whatever religion they prefer, if any at all. Therefore, it is not at all 'like a Muslim country' ..... and your comparison is so far from the actual truth as to be laughable. Such remarks only demonstrate your total lack of understanding of the basic premises upon which this country was formed.
You also demonstrate a real lack of understanding as to the actual effects of the "Arab Spring" in the countries where these movements occurred.
Yeah, I knew I was dealing with such a tender hearted young man, from the start, so I have always taken it easy with you! LOL
Totally OT: Western Auto
Read all about it.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Western_Auto
I agree .... and a 'dislike' button for others! LOL
Oh yes, indeed. They filled a real need in small towns across much of the US.
Shake that bush!!!!
I don't deny that! Old as dirt!
Yep, I'm sure they will get things worked out. I've heard good things about Howa rifles though .....
But Henrys .... always looked and felt 'quality'.
Western Auto was a store that carried everything from guns to car accessories to flashlight batteries to ... ??? Sort of a mini-Walmart, but no clothing other than maybe a hunting jacket or something. Just a 'variety' of essentials. I guess they are all extinct these days. But what a neat place to go and 'wander' around when one is 6 - 16 years old ....
Well, go right ahead if you want your 30 minutes shortened to 15....
