“China is a poor country with only $4,000 per capita income. To talk and think about China to rescue countries with $40,000 per capita incomes is ridiculous.”
-Yu Yongding, a Chinese top economist and former member of the central bank’s monetary policy committee

....which caused the Euro to rally against the USD, pushing .SPX higher.
But what is happening in the past two or three days is that the North American markets are succumbing to the events in the euro area — more so than by developments in the United States. The vagaries of globalization: 20-years ago, world equity markets had a 40% correlation with each other. Today that correlation is north of 80% (as we found out in 2008 when there was nowhere to hide and decoupling was confused for lags).
..because the last time I posted a "source" (ie patient boards) it ended up on Yahoo Message Boards and a bunch of jackasses over there went on the board and started lecturing the patients, if you can actually believe that.
There is nearly a 90% correlation in asset class movements these days. Until this EU crap gets sorted out, SPX will be subject to whatever the EU/USD is doing - and all individual stocks, barring individual news, will trade in direct correlation with the SPX.
Yeah, i really cannot see how they would not approve ridaforolimus.whether doctors and insurance use and pay for the drug with moderate efficacy is another story.
having said that, when all this EU b.s. eer shakes out, i intend to reload a lot more in ARIA as i really believe there is no better mid development stage biotech out there right now, transforming into a viable pharma company potentially producing a billion dollar drug.
Well ...all charts are looking to break tomorrow as the shitheads in Europe did nothing over the weekend and DJIA futures are now down 345.
In TA, a failed head and shoulders is one of fhe most bullish patterns you can come across...
I'm suggesting that according to a poster who has applied for the drug when it goes to trial, the patients doctor inquired about the trial and drug 1-2 months ago and as of early September the doctor still hasn't heard back.
Where's the ALK trial???
Is there a problem there?
There must be a concierge service with each dose
We have seen occasional patients lose their response to ponatinib
LOL!! That was my first thought also, lol.

Yea, basically, in just about every name out there, except for the true scams, you will see Blackrock and Renessaince Technologies as one of the larger holders.
This creates some really dumb posts on Y! etc.
I dont know specifically what Gold's story is relative to buying or selling bc i dnt own DNDN and dont follow it..But, just on a general note, I'm really sick of listening to some of these CEOs explaining how their stock is cheap, yet, they're not buying their own B.S. (especially with their salaries - which many of them will say are not much)....for instance, Rombotis at CYCC and Passeri at CRIS, just to name a couple. Rombotis, is right up there with Bianco as far as I am concerned.
why hasn't he purchased any stock don't here at $10-11
According to Mitch Gold, today he said:
As of August 31, the company had cash, cash equivalents, and short and long term investments of approximately $600 million dollars. Given the current cash balance and the reduced levels of spending following the restructuring, Dendreon expects to have sufficient cash to enable the company to achieve a cash flow break even position in the United States at an annual run rate of approximately $500 million in revenue
Blackrock
I just think it's a lot easier (from writing a prescription standpoint) and a lot simpler (the process of manufacturing the drug is time consuming and likely very confusing for generic doctors - rather than "academics" - who don't have experience with this type of therapeutic agent) for a doctor to prescribe a pill rather than prescribe Provenge.
It probably has a lot to do with Dendreon not really "teaching" the doctors the process...
They got some big problems.
I don't really follow the company anymore, but it just sounds like they are in way over their head. Best to just sell the company to a larger entity who has experience transitioning from R&D to sales IMO.
Unemployment numbers just got worse
DNDN to layoff 500 workers.
8x8 Inc (EGHT) received bids on 1 or 2 of its 5 patent families, says Craig-Hallum
8x8 Inc (EGHT) in talks w 2 large phone carriers on VOIP deals...also in talks in regards to their patents w carrier - Craig-Hallum
tgt is $6 and $12 when deals get signed by craig hallum in this note
(source of the above is apparently from Craig-Hallum Institutional via StockTwits)
Been watching that ascending triangle form.

LOL, those are some good questions.
I wonder if Dendreon will be part of Obama's $300 billion bailout/stimuvax, err, stimulus package? Hmmmm..coincidence that both Mitch and the President are BOTH speaking on Thursday? I think not..
:)
DENDREON TO HOST CONFERENCE CALL ON SEPTEMBER 8, 2011 TO DISCUSS COMPANY RESTRUCTURING
Right now you have two computers trading with each other for pennies
Stevie is "averaging down".
(although. that article is old so he could have dumped it all on the news and has zero holdings now - in DNDN)
GSCO must be trying to "do the right thing" now that they have regulators, the FBI, congress, and everyone else up their ass.
(either that, or Paulson & Co. wants to own more stock and Goldy told their other clients to dump it so JP can buy 'em) ;)
Just remember, this pig always fills its gaps. And it just put in another one on today's open.
Buyout fever
Seriously. Merck are a bunch of stooges in oncology.
Speaking of Ridaforolimus, is Merck holding 25 blue-ribbon commitees in each executive department to come up with a brand name for the drug?
Is there an advantage for Merck to send this individual over for a preview of non-public data.
He does seem to have quite the track record of one-year titles.
How do you know he just didnt go to Ariad because there is more upside to ARIA stock (presumably) than MRK stock? Or ARIAD is paying him more.
This thinking on the board re this new hire is along the same lines as ARIAD hiring a Board Member from some other larger entity therefore, they must be in the process of getting bought by same company.
Dont get me wrong.... I hope youre right...I would love to see ARIA bought for 30.00 in a year.
Still no AP26113 in the clinic. I figured Patient 1 would have been dosed by now....
They could tell Greece to "get lost" (which they should - they're useless), and "TARP" the banks. They need a TARP for the banks. That's what this problem is at this point.
In re: to ARIA in the teens. Barring a market implosion, their drugs would imply an upper teens IMO.
