Hi Jack,
I have PCA, Newport, and AI all three. Tom fixed my Newport last year. I finally blurted out enough on here last year what the problem was and he knew the answer. Ken
Hi Tom,
Those kind of games were great to try all of our goofy
ideas. Go Pack Go! Home Field Advantage! Ken
Hi Jack,
welcome back. Jump back in this board. Thanks for the help on my Newport last year. Long story short, Tom had me change some goofy number in some goofy file and bingo my Newport works again. Ken
Hi Adam,
Thanks for you thoughts. I switched to QQQQ late Fri afternoon. I want to see if I can get similar results. I had to adjust my parameters going from an $8 stock to a $47 index. Hopefully similar action with less risk. Ken
Hi Aimster,
Probably the most fun and wildest game ever was The Stok Game by dakotadad@aol.com. I have cash if anyone can find a working copy of it. Yes, Stok is the name,, its mispelled. It would be on an A drive floppy. Fun to beat the computer players with AIM. GO Pack GO, Ken
SpecTrader Cavlogix,
I used to play this free stock game years ago. It was downloadable for Windows 3.1. Great game to test AIM and tweaking ideas on and plays fast. I can't find a viable download anymore. Would like to download. it again. In the mean time I've been using Stock Market Simulator from Tsoft for all my ideas. Plays slower than SpecTrader but still effective. Can anyone find a link to SpecTrader that works? Ken
Hi Is,
Looks like AIM would have a big advantage if the price
of the holding went up or down by any large amount. Ladders and the like are going to have a high cash burn rate and also sell out with large upswings. Its all in the parameters too. When trading ranges are busted ladders or such either run out of stock to sell or cash to buy. Neither is good for your portfolio. Ken
Hi Adam,
you said //// You can rescale the ladder to the dropped price to resume action, but it will take a long time to recoup losses on a deep diver//// That is correct in so many ways. In all my tweaking ideas that ever crossed thru my mind over the years that is the dilema. Deep divers toast all original invested money and all most all invested on the way down. Whether its a ladder, or AIM, or whatever EZM or Myway is, I'm sure they all run short of cash. There is no recovery without cash. I would agree, a sale would be forthcoming to re-start the(any) program and try and work the capital back. Is there a copy of EZM available anywhere? From Don? I just bought into QQQQ yesterday, I hope the Nasdaq doesn't repeat its 5400 to 1200 slump anytime soon. Ken
Hi Is,
What exactly is Don Carlson's EZM? Is there a copy or set of parameters anywhere? Ken
Great job
Jeff. 17.65% is an excellent compound for one year. I see you are/ were 100% cash. What ideas do have on your list for 08? Best regards, Ken
12/3/07 to 1/11/08 Update,
I changed horses yesterday and sold out of EGOV and jumped into QQQQ. Repot on EGOV for 5 weeks looks as follows,,
12 Buys/ 10 Sells/ Simple Return 5.70%/ Annualized Return 67.98%/ Avg Capital at Risk 41.66%/ ROCAR 13.68%(wow, for only 5 weeks)/ Avg Cost per Share $8.14/ Final Sellout Price $8.45/ Interest on Unused Cash $41.16/ Profit $3077.06/ Original Investment $54,000.00 / Account Value $57,077.06 /100 % Cash,, Sorry to have to hack up the Nasdaq for you folks but someone has to do it. AHHHHH the relative safety of an index fund. Ken
Changed Horses,
Sold out of EGOV today completely and jumped into QQQQ. You know me, I will put the maximum whammy hex on all your Nasdaq stocks. Blame it on be boys! (smile) Ken
Market
seems weak on this bounce back. I pushed a few more out the door today.
Sales Dept
active again here. Picked up 1040 shares yesterday only to run them out the door today. Jeeeeesh the ink isn't even dry yet. My hair is on fire, someone please put it out. Ken
Let
1240 EGOV go out the back door today for delivery. Can't seem to hang on to them very long. Ken
Hi Neil,
thanks for the kind words. It has been busy since I restarted trading. Do you actually own and trade gold itself too? Or do you just trade the gold mining shares? Ken
Looks like
the floor fell out today. Picked up a total of 1760shs of EGOV on the way down today. Its been a fun 2 weeks being able to catch the market live. Back to work next week and working OT,,,, so I'll have to live off limit orders again with my cell phone. Plan your Trade and Trade your Plan. Ken
Hi MM,
That's funny! Ken
I must ask,
What ever happened to the January effect? What ever happened to the Christmas rally? Ken
Hi Don,
I'm trading ticker EGOV(NIC) on the Nasdaq. I can't reply private as I'm just a freebie here. I'll gladly resell some if it pops back up today, or buy more if the tanking continues. Ken
Purchasing
wrote the check and bought some EGOV back this morning. I don't think I let go of those for more than 10 minutes open market time, that's nuts! Ken
Shipping
let another lot out the back door yesterday. 2 sells so far this week. Maybe I can grab them back with the weak opening coming here in about 35 minutes. Ken
Hey Toof,
I like it, good post. Ken
12/3/07 to 01/03/08 Update,
Well its been a month since I started trading again. As of close today I'm up 5.29%. Not bad for one month. I'm trying something a little different but it is Aim-like. Currently 25.29% stock and holding 74.71`% cash. There were 5 buys(actually 8) and 6 sells during the month. I'm not counting those 3 extra buys as it involves clearing 2 checks at Etrade and taking my initial position. I would have been up 5.55% for the month had I not forgot to put in another buy order last week. Ken
Good Job
MM on the sale. That's a nice return! Glad your horse took off running when they opened the 2008 gate today. Ken
Hi Tom,
Selling is fun! Also, could you quit blowing that cold Wisconsin air down here? Ken
Sell today on
EGOV at $8.55. Might get whipsawed here today with $100 oil. I'll gladly buy them back at a cheaper price.
oooooops!
I blew a trading opportunity last week by not having
a GTC Buy Order in place. I must be getting older.
Merry Christmas to all
on the AIM board. May God Bless each of you and your
families. Happy New Year too. Ken
Hi Tom,
Sure didn't have to fish much for a bid today. Shipping was busy again. I hope the Santa Claus Rally gets in full gear next week. Ken
Another
great day in the market.
Hi Toofuzzy,
some of EGOV(NIC). Another nice move to the upside today will have shipping busy just before 4pm. I'll let the live bid determine how many shares as we close today. I'll put in an aftermarket order too for anyone who just has to have more,,, small higher nominal fee of course for the aftermarket shares. Ken
OT/ Hi Tom,
Yep, Dallas goes on the road, looks like Bears and Lions may be collapsing. Ken
Hi Tom, sent some EGOV
out the shipping door. This nutty thing was at $7.92 near yeterday's open, hit $8.34 already today. racing up and down like its hair is on fire or something. Just what I need though. By the way, let's get the Dallas Cowgirls to lose one more and our Pack will just take that homefield advantage. Go Pack Go! Ken
Hi Tom,
Sarasota in trouble? I found it in Barrons. The $20mil house sold for $14mil, 30% discount but still a record for Sarasota county. High end always seems to move at some price. The scary part was the lack of any interest in the mid to lower ranges. Up 150% from 2000 to 2005,, ya that's a bubble that has exploded. What a mess. I actually think they will recover a lot faster than here in Indiana. Ken
Hi Toof,
I picked some up on that big dip yesterday, only to miss a sale by a few cents, before later pull back, past my sell now so I'll hit the sell button b4 close today,,,,, saves $5 when I enter it market instead of limit,, I'm watching it live,,Ken
Hi Tom,
I asked my Dad the other day on the phone if the Real Estate Bubble in Florida had popped? He said it didn't pop,,,,it has exploded!
Hi Dave,
The price of my Breaded Tenderloin Combo meal just went up recently too, about 7%,, $5.79 to $6.19 if I remember correctly.
Tripped a buy
in EGOV today. I like action.
Hi AL,
I like garage sales.
