OT: Interesting quote...I'm sure Terry can provide alternative examples!!! LOL!!!
"A successful serial entrepreneur friend once said that when starting a business, one has to know whether they're doing it because they want to change the world in a good way, or because they want to make money. It's one or the other, not both.
He is right. We often have lofty goals. We often remind ourselves of them, as Google does of its own. But more often than not we fail to achieve them. The world changes us far more than we can change it.

Gold rush grips Chinese consumers
Great article on China/India growing middle class workers switching from "food" gifts to gold. Think other commodities, energy, cars, etc., in the years ahead. Over 3000 construction cranes in the city of Shanghai reported by a visitor from my area.

Barneey...AMEP has lost money from day one. All the assets including the rig are owned by the investees, which are 100% owned by AMEP as a BDC. Unfortunately, AMEP only reports the figures given by the investees, no details (so far) are provided on what the investees are doing with the revs or shares that AMEP gives them to sell. IMO, the investees can retain ALL profits as salaries, bonuses, etc. and the AMEP shareholders have no clue (for now). Down the road, again IMO, the continued losses will finally hit home. This is only a 6 cent stock.....for good reason, no smart investors will buy and hold long term. Also contrary to what Drillbit says, there is a history of massive dilution which I think will continue. Take a look at TINY, a true venture capital BDC, and see how their income is reported to investors. BTW, have you read an AMEP filing?? It has as many pages as an MSFT filing and very confusing as where all the diluting shares are going.....
Boy, the pumpers/dumpers really get upset when someone puts chewing gum in their phony ATM!!!! LOL!!!
Doubloon...more like an India "Yahoo"...also was in and out a year or so ago...heavy insider ownership and low OS..

DOR BioPharma Achieves Manufacturing Milestone in Development of RiVax(TM)
Wednesday January 25, 10:31 am ET
DOR and Its Collaborators Achieve 2nd Milestone Ahead of Schedule
MIAMI--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 25, 2006--DOR BioPharma, Inc. (AMEX:DOR - News; "DOR", or the "Company") today announced that it has successfully completed the second development milestone for its ricin vaccine, called RiVax(TM), under the Challenge Grant previously awarded to DOR in September 2004 by the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), a unit of the National Institutes of Health. For the second milestone, the Company has completed the development of a process for large-scale manufacture of the key vaccine ingredient consisting of a modified ricin toxin subunit protein. In addition, supplementary characterization and formulation objectives have been achieved.
DOR is developing the vaccine under the Challenge Grant in conjunction with the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, Stanford Research Institute, University of Kansas, and Cambrex Biosciences in Baltimore. This consortium led by DOR has resulted in development of a robust and reproducible manufacturing process and purification scheme for large-scale production of the ricin A chain subunit protein ingredient in RiVax(TM). This process will be sufficient to supply millions of vaccine doses. The ricin A chain is the catalytic subunit of ricin toxin that accounts for its main ability to inhibit protein synthesis and kill mammalian cells. Modification of the A chain to remove toxicity sites was required to make a vaccine safe enough and effective enough for use in humans. An early formulation of RiVax(TM) using a smaller scale process has been evaluated in a Phase I clinical trial in healthy volunteers, the first time such a vaccine has been tested in humans. The major results of that trial will be announced next week and discussed in publication.
Based on the improved production methods and high yields of RiVax(TM), DOR is manufacturing clinical batches which will be evaluated in additional human studies to examine the effect of the formulation and vaccination regimen on the human immune response. Continuing studies in animals are focused on correlating the level of antibodies in serum with protection against ricin exposure to various routes of exposure, including aerosol and oral. The demonstration of the functionality of human antibodies and passive protection in animals is a key step in providing evidence of efficacy under the FDA Animal Efficacy rule. Under this rule, the FDA can permit human licensure of a vaccine by relying on results from animal trials when human trials cannot ethically evaluate efficacy.
"We are very pleased with the progress we continue to make with our ricin program," stated Michael T. Sember, DOR's CEO and President. "We now have a well defined and scalable manufacturing process that is suitable for all future commercial needs as we continue development of this important biodefense countermeasure. We will continue to work closely with our partners and NIAID to expeditiously develop a safe and efficacious ricin vaccine."
Ricin toxin is a potential bioterror threat due to its highly lethal toxicity in small doses, ease of manufacture, and ability to be aerosolized. Exposure to small amounts, especially by inhalation, can lead to lung damage, nausea, fever, abdominal pain, and death within several days. The need for protective countermeasures against ricin has been emphasized by its recent and continued use as a biological weapon. There currently are no FDA approved vaccines against ricin toxin.
About DOR BioPharma, Inc.
DOR BioPharma, Inc. is a biopharmaceutical company addressing life-threatening side effects of cancer and cancer treatments, serious gastrointestinal diseases and disorders, and biomedical countermeasures. Our lead product, orBec® (oral beclomethasone dipropionate), is a potent, locally-acting corticosteroid being developed for the treatment of intestinal Graft-versus-Host Disease (iGVHD), a common serious complication of bone marrow transplantation for cancer, as well as other GI disorders characterized by severe inflammation. We plan to file a new drug application (NDA) with the FDA for orBec® for the treatment of iGVHD in the first quarter of 2006.
In November we announced that we entered into a binding letter of intent to acquire Gastrotech Pharma A/S, a Danish biotech company developing therapeutics based on peptide hormones to treat cancer and gastrointestinal diseases and conditions.
Through our BioDefense Division, we are developing biomedical countermeasures pursuant to the paradigm established by the recently enacted Project BioShield Act of 2004. Our biodefense products in development are bioengineered vaccines designed to protect against the deadly effects of ricin toxin and botulinum toxin, both of which are considered serious bioterrorism threats. Our ricin toxin vaccine, RiVax(TM), has completed the clinical portion of its Phase I clinical trial in normal volunteers. We have also announced the initiation of a new botulinum toxin therapeutic development program based on rational drug design.

This press release contains forward-looking statements, within the meaning of Section 21E of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934, that reflect DOR BioPharma's current expectations about its future results, performance, prospects and opportunities, including statements regarding the potential use of orBec® for the treatment of iGVHD and the prospects for regulatory filings for orBec®. Where possible, DOR BioPharma has tried to identify these forward-looking statements by using words such as "anticipates", "believes", "intends", or similar expressions. These statements are subject to a number of risks, uncertainties and other factors that could cause actual events or results in future periods to differ materially from what is expressed in, or implied by, these statements. DOR BioPharma cannot assure you that it will be able to successfully develop or commercialize products based on its technology, including orBec®, particularly in light of the significant uncertainty inherent in developing vaccines against bioterror threats, manufacturing and conducting preclinical and clinical trials of vaccines, and obtaining regulatory approvals, that its technologies will prove to be safe and effective, that its cash expenditures will not exceed projected levels, that it will be able to obtain future financing or funds when needed, that product development and commercialization efforts will not be reduced or discontinued due to difficulties or delays in clinical trials or due to lack of progress or positive results from research and development efforts, that it will be able to successfully obtain any further grants and awards, maintain its existing grants which are subject to performance, enter into any biodefense procurement contracts with the U.S. Government or other countries, that it will be able to patent, register or protect its technology from challenge and products from competition or maintain or expand its license agreements with its current licensors, that it will be able to maintain its listing on the American Stock Exchange ("AMEX") by completing a transaction which will provide it with shareholders' equity of at least $6 million, or that its business strategy will be successful. Important factors which may affect the future use of orBec® for iGVHD include the risks that: because orBec® did not achieve statistical significance in its primary endpoint in the pivotal Phase III clinical study (i.e. a p-value of less than or equal to 0.05), the FDA may not consider orBec® approvable based upon existing studies, orBec® may not show therapeutic effect or an acceptable safety profile in future clinical trials, if required, or could take a significantly longer time to gain regulatory approval than DOR BioPharma expects or may never gain approval; DOR BioPharma is dependent on the expertise, effort, priorities and contractual obligations of third parties in the clinical trials, manufacturing, marketing, sales and distribution of its products; or orBec® may not gain market acceptance; and others may develop technologies or products superior to orBec®. DOR BioPharma's business strategy has been revised to include the issuance of its securities to acquire companies or assets. DOR BioPharma presently is involved in negotiations which could result in the issuance of a significant number of shares of its equity securities, thereby diluting the equity interests of present stockholders. These and other factors are described from time to time in filings with the Securities and Exchange Commission, including, but not limited to, DOR BioPharma's most recent reports on Form 10-QSB and Form 10-KSB. DOR BioPharma assumes no obligation to update or revise any forward-looking statements as a result of new information, future events, and changes in circumstances or for any other reason.

New Dragon Asia to Acquire Instant Noodle Facility in Chengdu, China
Wednesday January 25, 7:30 am ET
SHENZHEN, China, Jan. 25, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- New Dragon Asia Corp. (AMEX:NWD - News) today announced it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire a company which controls a state-owned noodle manufacturing facility in Chengdu, Sichuan Province, for approximately $3.3 million. The acquisition, which is expected to close mid-February, 2006, is subject to the completion of due diligence and the satisfaction of certain customary closing conditions.
The facility occupies approximately 386,661 square feet. New Dragon Asia intends to upgrade the facility with new machinery and four new production lines, expanding its overall output by one-third with additional annual production capacity of 360 million packages of instant noodles. The company expects production at this facility will commence in the second quarter of 2006, assuming the upgrade of facilities goes according to plan.
``This acquisition in the Western region of China complements the company's existing presence in Eastern and Northern China and its strategic initiative to ultimately establish a cornerstone in four geographic regions of the country,'' said Li Xia Wang, chief executive officer of New Dragon Asia.
She noted that the acquisition will enable New Dragon Asia to transfer a portion of its domestic instant noodle production requirements currently served by the company's Shandong facility to the Chengdu facility. Wang added that this production shift will enable New Dragon Asia to then utilize more of its production capacity generated from the Shandong facility to meet export sales demand, which generates higher margins and provides the benefit of tax refunds available to the company through Shandong Xinlongya Distribution Company Ltd., an export operation that it acquired in December 2005.
Chengdu has a population of approximately 11 million people. It is located in Sichuan Province, a region with an estimated 83 million people.
Wang said a portion of proceeds derived from a recently completed private placement will be utilized to fund the Chengdu acquisition.
About The Company
New Dragon Asia Corp. is engaged in the milling, sale and distribution of flour and related products, including instant noodles and soybean-derived products, to retail and commercial customers throughout China. New Dragon Asia markets its well-established product line through a network of more than 200 key distributors and 16 regional offices in 27 Chinese provinces with an aggregate production capacity of approximately 110,000 tons of flour and more than 1.1 billion packages of instant noodles.
This news release contains forward-looking statements within the meaning of the Private Securities Litigation Reform Act of 1995. For this purpose, statements that are not statements of historical fact may be deemed to be forward-looking statements. The company cautions that these statements by their nature involve risks and uncertainties, and actual results may differ materially depending on a variety of important factors, including, among others, the impact of competitive products and pricing; changes in consumer preferences and tastes or perceptions of health-related issues; effectiveness of advertising or market-spending programs; changes in laws and regulations; fluctuations in costs of production, foreign exchange and interest rates; and other factors as those discussed in New Dragon Asia Corp.'s reports filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission from time to time.

Sure, oil companies including Chevron (nyse: CVX - news - people ), BP (nyse: BP - news - people )and Royal Dutch Shell (nyse: RDSA - news - people ) would like to see the Gulf looking spiffy again, but they’re not likely to jump on Shays’ bandwagon. Other big Superfund polluters normally delay covering cleanup costs as long as possible, perhaps the most famous example being how General Electric (nyse: GE - news - people ) dragged its feet on helping rid New York’s Hudson River of the 1.3 million pounds of polychlorinated biphenyls it legally dumped over several decades. The National Association of Manufacturers strongly opposes reinstatement of all Superfund taxes because, according to its Web site, “there is no connection between taxes and funding for Superfund cleanups.”

I really don't understand some people....every stock I own or follow has positive and negative posters and I could care less!! I usually look at both sides before I invest anyway. Are people that insecure about their investment decisions that they have to run off and form a private support group message board??? Or ignore posters? Is it do to lack of maturity??? But...it's a free country (where I live)!!!!
LOL!!!!
OT: Techisbest...note the SYTE OS....easier to do when the OS is still relatively small....IMO...

ctb...I don't know if AMEP is doing anything legally wrong as a BDC! They just don't provide any details to shareholders!!! Like they said in the filing, down the road the SEC may decide they don't qualify to continue as a BDC....
You got inside info on a RS to 5 bucks?????? LOL!!!
Anyone remember how high the pps went when the Berlin naked shorters were wiped out??????
Dry holes??? If they can't hit gas or oil in the Great Barnett, they probably couldn't find salt water in the Gulf of Mexico!!!!! I'm just trying to figure who's pocket the money is going into....the three investee presidents probably get a million bucks a year salary, so there goes most of it!!!
Hey Spencer...check with your Doc and get some valium for when this hits 3 cents!!!! LOL!!!
ctb...Greeneye is teaching me the ropes on pump and dumps!!!
Mind your own business!!! LOL!!!!
Starshine...it's a fine line, IMO.. Sometimes when we don't have (or know) all the facts, an "opinion" thrown out there sometimes turns up a fact from a more knowlegable poster. Private message is sometimes a better way to go, but not all of us have it (me)....
Cutting Corners???? Those are questions one should ask of any company, especially an OTC BDC company.....the BIG RED FLAG is there are no clear answers available for AMEP. Barnett Shale? Tons of oil and gas??? Why is this POS 6 cents? Because the long term big money investors know this is a POS.....all those oil-savy Texans that live there and know Bitters and it's still a 6 cent stock??? More questions, no answers....except the common sense ones....
OT: RedCloudPaint...the information I posted was about CELL PHONES from the DO NOT CALL government site. I also signed up as soon as it was available for my home phone, it is not necessary to list your cell phone...(yet???)... There are rumors going around the internet meassage boards and emails saying you HAVE to also list your cell phone by a certain time...they are NOT true according to the government site. It's hard to explain that to people that believe everything released by a pinkie company!!! LOL!!!!!
Greeneye...NAV doesn't mean much if AMEP never reports any of the Investee revenues as income...besides, show me the audited Investee figures....how many employees, what is their compensation, what are their total assets????? If they actually have a profit, does it get paid out to Investee management as bonuses?? WHERE DOES THE INVESTEE REVENUE MONEY GO????? I doubt you can answer that.....that's what makes this such a POS in the long term, IMO....
OT: Catty...check the Do Not Call government site about cell phones.....geesh!!! LOL!!!!!!

Cell Phone Numbers Are Being Handed Over to Telemarketers And You've Got a Short Time to Keep Your Cell Phone Number Out of Their Hands -Mostly Fiction!
Summary of the eRumor
The eRumor warns that cell phone numbers will soon be published in the same way as the numbers for wired phones and that you should sign up with a new government cell phone "do not call" registry to prevent solicitor calls from coming to your mobile phone.
Some versions say the cell phone numbers are being handed over to telemarketers by a certain date, such as January 1, 2005.
Some versions say there is a deadline for listing your cell phone on a "do not call list" such as December, 2004.
The Truth
The U.S. government has established a "do not call" registry where you can list phone numbers you want blocked from unsolicited calls such as from telemarketers.
That registry is for both wired and mobile phones and there is no deadline by which a phone number needs to be listed in order to be protected from telemarketing calls.
There is not a separate cell phone registry.
The registry is at: www.donotcall.gov.
At this writing (12/3/04) there is discussion among mobile providers about setting up a mobile phone directory listing mobile phone numbers.
According to the Cellular Telephone and Internet Association (CTIA), a cell phone directory is proposed that would be available through calling directory assistance only, not published in writing or on the Internet.
So far, there is not a set date when that will be done and the CTIA says the numbers are not going to be "handed over" to telemarketers.
Users would have the option of not having their numbers listed in the directory.
Some telemarketers call some phone numbers regardless of whether they are listed in directories because they use devices that dial numbers in sequence looking for working numbers although at present, they are prohibited by law from including cell numbers.
Updated 12/03/04
A real example of the eRumor as it has appeared on the Internet:
Version #1
Starting Jan 1, 2005, all cell phone numbers will be made public to
telemarketing firms. So this means as of Jan 1, your cell phone
may
start ringing off the hook with telemarketers, but unlike your
home
phone, most of you pay for your incoming calls. These
telemarketers
will eat up your free minutes and end up costing you money in the
long run.
According to the National Do Not Call List, you have until Dec.
15th
2004 to get on the national "Do not call list" for cell phones.
They
said that you need to call 1-888-382-1222 from the cell phone that
you wish to have put on the "do not call list" to be put on the
list.
They also said you can do it online at www.donotcall.gov
http://www.donotcall.gov/
Registering only takes a minute, is in effect for 5 years and will
possibly save you money (definitely frustration)! Make sure you
register now!
Version #2
FYI:
A directory of cell phone numbers will soon be published which all consumers may access. This will open the doors for solicitors to call you on your cell phones, using your precious minutes. The Federal Trade Commission has set up a "do not call" list. It is called a cell phone registry. To be included on the "do not call" list, you must call
1-888-382-1222 from the number you wish to register......or you can go to their website at http://www.donotcall.gov to sign up (under the heading "Register A Phone Number").
I find it strange that many have a problem with BigApple, but can't make the connection on the motives of a company that hires such an outfit!!! Hey, if your teenage daughter is dating a guy that's doing drugs, PLEASE ASSUME she is doing drugs too and get her HELP!!! LOL!!!!!
Well, when some point out opposing FACTS that some others always miss, the subject always goes back to how great the pump and dump has worked for some in the past year. Don't forget folks, some are bagholders that bought at the higher prices and are not sitting on 300%+ gains....
Han2004fl...Sorry..I thought they might have popped it up when your order went in...sometimes they also partial fill then the ask gets raised...
Well the ask is 0.0615 so they were willing to get rid of them cheaper at your 0.061 price....
As a BDC, AMEP should be sending shareholders info on how to report the "Deemed Dividends"....but don't hold your breath!! LOL!!!!
http://biz.yahoo.com/bw/060123/20060123005633.html?.v=1
Greeneye...Oops!! You forgot the 78,759,606 shares issuable but not recorded yet....remember they always get added to the OS by the next filing....nice try though!!! LOL!!!! Do you think they will hit the Authorized in 6 months????
