Are they down 17%?
Crazi...any info from the phone call?
Need traders and longs both, or it doesn't work. What do they call it...a symbiotic relationship? Problems happen when they don't balance.
Oh, no! Now the flippers are starting to worry. LOL
JMHO - Share price raids like we are seeing today...
can be directly attributable to Brandhuber's failure to address shareholder concerns. In this environment aggressive traders know that it doesn't take much to spook the herd...just some coordinated sells early will artificially drive the price to a level for easy pickings. Before too long a stock has lost 20,30, or 50% of it's value.
And it all could have been avoided if the right people cared enough about shareholders.
A lot of negative news is still to come, unfortunately. - Meridian
Don't quite like the sound of that one.
Repost from Jailhouse (Meridian to TheDane)
TheDane I hope you have my email address. If anything just let me know. Don't know if I return to the board. Take care.
P.S it is going to be a bumpy ride before the sp will structurally settle at a higher level. Hang in there for at least another year. SP may drop to some new low (you know why), a buying opportunity in my opinion.
A lot of negative news is still to come, unfortunately.
Take care,
Meridian
Shareholders are left swinging in the wind.
If it wasn't for the chance at a once-in-a-lifetime investment opportunity, most of us would have pulled up stakes a long long time ago. From a corporate/shareholder relationship standpoint, this is, without a doubt, the WORST company I have ever invested in...period. Outside of that short honeymoon period for Deborah Buks about a year or so ago, ERHC's IR has been stridently anti-shareholder.
A number of your fellow IHUB members have been invested here longer than I have and certainly much longer than you. They don't need spring chickens telling them to be patient, or that the company has got it all together. SEO/Brandhuber may be good at swinging deals, but they are sorely lacking in other areas of corporate managment and governance.
So Oilphant says that Devon (with the Pathfinder) is the major being brought into Block 1?
In 2 years I haven't heard "BOO!!" from our esteemed leader.
How much can someone care when they don't talk to you?
OT - Not the forgiving type, eh?
wcamom - Isn't it odd that people hired to do PR despise the thought of doing what they are being paid to do? It is even stranger to consider that any company would put up with that kind of behavior for any period of time. It has been the same old story. It is SO strange that one would almost be convinced that the current behavior just might be the direct result of company policy.
because 70 cents can quickly turn to 10 cents.
OT - Trotsky?...from Kitco board?
Kobi, something is wrong. It is a noble thing that the company doesn't pump itself, but it can't even get it right when they have news worthy of shouting from the housetops. It's like being Cinderella but dressing in rags to go to the ball. Believe me, based on past history, they will bungle the drilling plans pr's.
Sharpen your pencils boys, it's a new valuation paradigm.
2 stories surfaced today that will make obsolete all our previous valuations.
1. Oil and Gas Intl. says that the 2.4 billion that the Sonogal/Sinopec JV is paying for the 2 PARTIAL blocks is SIGNATURE BONUS only. They hope to get a 50% share.
2. The MSNBC article stating that Apache paid BP $22 dollars for reserves in the Gulf of Mexico.
...and the Chinese still have a gazillion dollars to play with.
Well, I had 8 seconds to trade on that news. Dang!
Maestro...let the Sirens sing their songs to one another.
This board has devolved into a back slapping circle jerk.
BB...my beef has always been the coddling of Meridian by SOMEBODY in control of the delete button on IHUB. I have always been civil, but on at least 2 occasions have been deleted by the IHUB moderator, chcr, when I have exposed Meridian's unsavory behavior. I have never wanted to jump to conclusions about you or Dadd, but how can you not see the agenda that's being foisted upon the board by those who run it. It is after many instances without a peep from either of you, that I have to conclude that you and Dadd approve of this agenda.
Mark...it was inevitable. Moderators have agendas.
Balance builder and Dadd...you two have lost all credibility.
You cover for this guy? What a shame...
Meridian...where did your posts go? Dadd, got an answer?
Ooops...my bad. My apologies to you, Art.
This stock is beginning to sound like Billy Joel...
From the Piano Man -
He says, Bill, I believe this is killing me.
As the smile ran away from his face
Well I’m sure that I could be a movie star
If I could get out of this place.
Just about time to drown our sorrows, eh Walldog?
Sorry...should have qualified my "it's a scam statement".
Brazilians are leading edge, but someone in Washington wants to support domestic farmers, so again, what could cut our dependence on foreign oil, is choked at the border through tariffs.
Brazil hopes to build on its ethanol success
http://www.usatoday.com/tech/news/2006-03-28-brazil-ethanol-cover_x.htm?POE=TECISVA
Ethanol is a real scam...
government subsidies are the only thing keeping that terminally ill patient alive.
Wilson, Hartke, Callendar, Nugent....all early shareholders in ERHC. Does anybody have a copy of the original ERHC shareholder list that was floating around a year of so ago? I'm sure there are others who can be found on both lists.
Rocky,...I thought Dimka's statement sounded a bit odd.
Ah, yes...one coca leaf too many for that guy.
"Wealthy by Easter" was the name of that tune.
Sung by the Sirens. Only folks who got wealthy were the traders who started bailing on the following Monday. Well, at least wealthy enough to buy back in at a huge discount.
Let's play with the calendar...
1. No news from CVX and we're at a shade under 80 centavos. We may never hear anything substantial from them as it relates to our blocks.
2. It is going to be at least several weeks, if not months, before we hear anything about drilling plans for block 2 or 4.
3. Once plans are solidified, it will be at least 4 to 6 more months before OUR drilling results are known.
How are we going to keep this share price afloat for the next 1/2 year if management doesn't push?
....maybe we should have sold at .94 when we had the chance, or maybe we should be thankful for the umpteenth time for another buying opportunity. Quite frankly, after holding this stock for 2 years, I'm about ready for a selling opportunity.
Your birdie must be singing a mournful tune, seeing how resigned you are to the long wait until Block 2/4 drilling.
I'm not sure how fun it will be when we cross over to the wrong side of the 50 day MA line. We are getting too close for comfort.
Meridian's 'wet blanket' episode shortly after PSCs were finalized sure looks like a good move on the part of those who wanted to cap the share price. It will join the 1/2 dozen or so other rally-killing articles and rumors that each conveniently appeared just when momentum was swinging in our favor.
It looks as though we are destined to endure another 4 to 6 month dead money period. Who could have ever imagined that one could buy this puppy at a price less than what it was more than 2 years ago.
Let's face the facts. We are all here to one degree or another because of greed...period. If it weren't so, then we'd be happy with our money tucked away in a much less risky investment. We want the most bang for our investement buck. Siren songs work because they appeal to that greed. A siren song is not pumping a $5/share buyout when there's a $10 offer just over the horizon. Just watch the movie, Blue Angel.
Is Oilphant a siren? Time will tell. No other poster is as seductive, and thus as potentially dangerous as he could turn out to be. It all depends on whether or not we remain vigilant to watch for sharp rocks in our path. Meridian a siren? For the most part, until his song became a little bit less heavenly. As soon as he hit some notes that didn't quite fit preconditioned thinking, the critics were all over him (including myself) like white on rice. On the other hand, maybe guys like NWTF, who have always cautioned against unrealistic expectations on share valuation, awards and PSC timeframes, should be seen as Orpheus, but more often than not, are usually seen as stick-in-the-muds because their message isn't particulary appealing to all of us who wanted to be filthy rich yesterday.
I am learning the truth, and somewhat begrudingly...that this stock has never, is currently not, and may never, live up to my expectations. And that's OK.
A Siren Song that we all can relate to?
"$3.67 after awards!, $3.67 after awards!, $3.67 after awards!" only to become shipwrecked after many of our trader 'friends' sold on the news.
If Joe Shea is a Siren, then someone needs remedial work in the use of metaphors.
I'm a small fry. Have been buying since 2004, and have been waiting ever so IMpatiently for my ship to come in. Have considered cashing in my precious metals to buy more, but I just can't bring myself to that point. There's just enough risk (delays and all) to keep from putting all my eggs in one basket.
DQ...you still buying? You at 5% yet?
