Dshade, I hear what you are saying, but you're running yourself in a circle.
The gist of it is, that the broker list (large or small) is growing. When you see a Zecco, an OC, a TDA, Wells Fargo, Schwab, & Prudential all making a similar move, it may indicate a significant change.
I appreciate what Lesson Learned, Fish, and others are bringing here to explain & prepare people for something that, while not affecting your buying & selling right now, may affect it soon, and is certainly affecting more & more as we speak.
Fidelity is in some trouble presently, but that's another matter. As this would be OT, I will politely suggest you research this matter a little more.
The climate is changing as we speak, and as you and I said most big brokers. Most big brokers are not allowing one to buy AAVG and the list is growing. I hope Avstar will be proactive and nip this thing in the bud, before it becomes tantamount to a Grey stock.
As most moves by agencies, I hope they are slow with this, to give Avstar time to address it while trying to build and expand operations. Not an easy task, but one that is necessary as three brokers I originally purchased AAVG stock through about a year ago, will now not allow me to purchase any more (just sell).
I think you have it backwards, sort of...
Most big brokers will not allow one to buy non-DTC eligible stocks. Like I posted previously, I have personally checked on Wells Fargo (Wachovia), Merrill Lynch, Schwab, Prudential, OC, and, of course, we know well about TDA and all Penson clearing brokers.
Only the mid-range discount brokers allow it presently (like E-Trade, Scottrade, et. al.), and that could change shortly.
There are private backers from over a year ago that are getting a bit nervous about this...and they were recently going to add common stock, but they only deal with the big brokers.
Actually, it is, and better to understand it (as best we can), rather than hide it.
It is affecting many investors in AAVG, whether you realize it or not.
(I just hope that Avstar can clear this hurdle before its effect is too great.)
Indeed. eom
I suspect this could be a reason here:
“who one of their investors was”.
Steps like this should be taken asap:

OK, I checked. If you voted earlier, the N/A remains the holding place in the contra cusip. If you voted more recently, they have used those numbers to indicate the same holding place for the shares.
It is not indicative of how one voted.*
(Just indicates that your vote was registered & shares locked.)
I sure wish it was...or will be soon.
What others have you asked? I would not wait for a return call. If you are, it is better to follow up with another call.
At first, I suspected that, but with the broker list growing...is it that, or are they reacting to older news in regard to the toxic funding and former status of the company?
Something is a bit off, and, unfortunately, AAVG has a limited time now to perform for many of the private investors.
Unfortunately, not true. As I stated earlier, the list of brokers is growing, and it is shaking the confidence of many investors.
While I have not heard a satisfactory reason, imho, they seem to be targeting AAVG more than others right now.
That does not sound correct unless you voted 'no' or you did not grant releases. I would call & check.
Indeed...
and as it seems to get better for the company, the climate gets worse.
Well, I am very disappointed as our group that has invested quite a bit privately & publicly in AAVG, is now prevented from making purchases of the stock through Merrill, Wells Fargo, TD Ameritrade, Prudential, and presently checking on Schwab.
No direct reasons given, except the brokerages feel they cannot risk the trade. Very disappointing, as our group will probably not endeavor into any other brokerages.
Hopefully, Avstar can get proactive in providing information to reverse the brokerages' positions.
"Washington Mutual Mortgage Securities Corp. (WMMSC), a wholly owned subsidiary of JPMorgan Chase Bank, National Association."
It may all be up to the King's return:

;)
I have read many of those.
At the moment, I am concerned about the upcoming election as much as I was in 2008.
2012 Mayan predictions look more viable.
Yes, just like 'BAROCK'.
(Funny, I was going to include that in my last post, but I did not want to be politically incorrect.)
I've heard A-Rock too. :)
OK. Thank you goodness. :)
I hear you.
I tested the ad blocker with a link from an e-mail someone sent me. It would not work on IE for the "T" bar, but I inadvertently removed all the other ads. I imagine many might be annoyed by the "T", and not being able to remove it, will leave all the other ads blocked.
They should have had a test time for a broker (preferably one that most would vote to have, if possible) and see how to make it a helpful feature. This reminds me when they put that ad bar on the bottom that caused so much grief. To their credit, they did do away with that one.
I was Hungary for Turkey, so Iran to Iraq...
No, it's not Eyerack. :)~
*I asked HA earlier for the next court date they decided on. I believe that is when they will continue with that item. Maybe Friday?
*Edit: I heard the judge say she was not available tomorrow, but then the volume was too low to hear what others decided on.
I guess I didn't miss anything after all, lol.
I can see that. It's just as one of the original builders of this site, i.e., in getting new members, boards, content, I am hearing about all the ad-blocker stuff that has now removed all ads while attempting to remove the "T".
Hopefully temporary, it just seems like losing more than you are gaining presently.
Even free members who could not remove the "T", have now been able to remove all other ads. :-/
They must have Scottrade, E-Trade, Fidelity, and/or preferred shares, and are out trying to straighten everything out. :-/
It seems you guys shot yourself in the foot. Many have now blocked all the ads for the sake of the "T" bar. I sure hope E-Trade compensates for the loss.
Seems reasonable.
I did speak to Corporate Actions through the whole process.
It increased a few thousand dollars overall, two cents on the pps.
I guess I did miss something. :-/
What was the next date after today?
There was a little confusion scheduling for another day, but Mary did adjourn for today. If I missed something, it may have been Dan blocking me.
Me too, lol. In case you were referring to the court, they have adjourned. ;)
WAMUQ
You may go to lunch. :)
I mailed it on Wednesday (1/25), TDA received it Friday (1/27), locked on Monday (1/30).
Curiously, when they locked the shares, they increased the value in my portfolio. I don't think it means anything, but when I inquired about it, they did not know why it showed the increase.
Mr. Lurker, , TD Ameritrade took about 24 hours after receiving my ballot to lock my shares. There is a note on the position that says: " WASHINGTON MUTUAL CONTRA - DO NOT SELL "
They also e-mailed me a confirmation.
She has not posted anything from the court, as of yet. Normally, she would have said something by now.
I don't believe she is there today.
I asked them. They did not know. In fact, their answer sounded something like what Catz would say. (Catz, do you work for TDA?) :)
They said you would be taking a chance and they would include them on a best-effort basis.
(Personally, I would not do it.)
Good timing there Ron. I just met with the people today. It's a partnership of sorts. I am buying half the property here along with another property overseas. This way I will have a presence here & abroad. The numbers worked out well as it gave me both locations without breaking the bank, so to speak.
I still have five months in my present location.
