Most of biotech is down.
Hell no, I'm not buying it. What makes you think that? Thought I was pretty clear that it's another hit piece.
Yeah... sadly, the average retail investor won't take the time to investigate AVXL and will just act on MF's recommendation. Sad, but true.
Another misleading AVXL hit piece out by MF lacking substance.
Knowing that 12/26-wk data will be coming soon--likely at AAIC--and that a partnership is probably close, we'll likely see several hit pieces (such as today's MF article) attempting to scare retail investors out and to keep new investors away.
The criminal cartel is hard at work, as this is their last stance before news. HOLD ON TO YOUR SHARES!
It appears to me that the "market" (i.e. manipulators) walked up the stock over the past several days ahead of the conference to make people think there might be news. Then use the "excuse" of no new data/info to pull the plug and take out stop-loss orders. These games will continue until the data is finally released...and most are expecting that to be at AAIC in July.
It was never to be a presentation. It was a panel discussion among 4 companies; therefore, no data, etc.
It's 7am in San Fran, let's see what the price action does over the next few hours.
I'm not suggesting that anything new was provided, but I do know that our man at the conference felt good about it. Awaiting his overview...
I have to catch up. I had a dinner engagement last night. I'll check what has been posted since and update soon.
At this point, all I know is that it was a discussion among a moderator and 4 companies (i.e. no presentations) with Q&A at the end.
If I didn't trust the numbers I wouldn't have repeated them here. There's over 300 members, so not hard to believe. Only a few have over 100k shares.
40% of the FB group have reported their shares... over 2M total.
Based on an average, the grand total could be as high as 5M shares.
Anavex Investors
They're certainly general conference attendees who have registered for this particular session that has 4 presenting companies. Hard to say how many have a particular interest in Anavex.
Agreed... there should be additional information provided to such a highly professional audience, but the PK/PD data will likely be reserved for AAIC.
We have "feet on the street", attending the conference, so we'll have information provided real time. Stay tuned...
The info embargo with the AAIC might be preventing Dr. M from releasing any 12/26 PK/PD data anytime sooner. And because they are sharing tomorrow's session with other companies, makes me believe they will not be announcing any of the details. I have low expectations about news tomorrow and hope that I'm surprised.
BTW, one of our FB members is attending the conference today and tomorrow; he'll be reporting his observations. I'll share if anything newsworthy.
...and/or short covering (same net effect).
Perhaps, perhaps not. But according to TomP1's post he's not buying (more?) until there is certainty... FDA approval. He's not into assumptions.
That's perfectly fine. Just know that you'll have to pay $50+/sh once approval is granted.
Of course! The writing is on the wall. It's why I am fully invested.
No need for Anavex to fund any trial, but what is going to get 2-73 approved the quickest. That is likely the current AD trials or perhaps Rett's or FTD, with the help of large donors.
If there is a strong urging for these other trials, then let someone else fund them; otherwise, do it later when revenue starts flowing in.
The only assumption is the approval...which will just be a matter of time...within 1 yr IMO.
If my understanding is correct, Anavex won't need to perform all of these other trials, at least not right away. Once 2-73 is approved (whether AD, Rett's or FTD), and is known to be safe, doctors will prescribe it (off-label) for these other conditions.
Time will show that it's more than just brain and CNS disorders that 2-73 can address. Sigma-1 plays its role throughout the body. At the Shareholders' mtg, Dr. M mentioned that studies have shown improvement in heart health, as an example.
Patents have already been granted for 2-73 and 3-71.
2-73: U.S. Pat. No. 9,180,106 granted on 10/21/2015
SIGMA RECEPTORS LIGANDS WITH ANTI-APOPTOTIC AND/OR PRO-APOPTOTIC PROPERTIES, OVER CELLULAR MECHANISMS, EXHIBITING PROTOTYPICAL CYTOPROTECTIVE AND ALSO ANTI-CANCER ACTIVITY.
3-71: U.S. Pat. No. 8,673,931
The composition and method Patent covers ANAVEX 3-71 (formerly AF710B) for treating Alzheimer’s disease (AD), type 2 diabetes and insulin resistance. ANAVEX obtained exclusive rights to worldwide patents and patent applications for ANAVEX 3-71 and related compounds in March 2014 from Life Science Research Israel, a subsidiary of the Israel Institute for Biological Research. The Patent has a term that expires no earlier than April 29, 2030.
Not sure why you're posting info that's 2-yrs old?
Interesting article... thanks!
Agreed. With good/great news, this time will be different. The retrace from any breakout peak will be short lived, as there will be too much demand.
Dr. M was waiting for you to return. Now, should be anytime!
Not true... he said the results would be provided IF available by Q1. It has obviously taken longer than expected...and I wouldn't be surprised if they are having the data reviewed by more than one party, including the FDA.
Oh dear! The leak is getting bigger!
Well stated... I'm with you on this one!
Way to step up, FooBar! You'da Man!
...and a very small leak at that. :)
Josh, we're up 2.5% today on NO NEWS. Does this concern you?
I thought, and others have said, it was in September.
Data and Partnership...
Though it's rather easy for a company to keep a lid on data, until which time it decides to announce the findings, it's much more difficult to contain news about a partnership...too many people involved. Therefore, at some point, leaks will start to infiltrate the market, which will begin to affect the PPS.
It's just a matter of time.
Thanks... I just realized I was on the AAIC site. No mention of Anavex there yet.
Reviewing the Bio 2016 site, I could not find where Anavex is presenting or exhibiting. They are not listed on either list.
Does anyone have different or additional information about their participation?
Any chemists here who has access to a lab?
You can make your own 2-73... C19H23NO.HCl
If you have not done your DD, to answer the question for yourself, then I recommend that YOU not invest in this company.
I could be wrong, but believe the 14 mg minimum dosage came from calculations and computer modeling, not actual dosing.
